I've always thought ge200 has a midsy nasal amp sound on some sims when recording. I've managed to scoop the mids and kinda fix It, but still think ampero has more quality. Maybe tweaking the eq's a little bit more It can deliver close results.

I will have alook there). Cheers from Switzerland.

During the blind listening test I liked unit A the best for every track. It sounded less muffled...like it had more depth and headroom overall. I was pleasantly surprised it was the Ampero. 👍
I had a Mooer Radar (destroyed in a lightning strike) that I replaced with a Hotone Binary IR Cab. The stock IR's on the Mooer were lacking to me so I bought a Celestion Vintage 30 IR package. When I got the Hotone replacement, the stock ones sounded so good that I haven't bothered to load the Celestion IR's on it yet.
I'm sorry to hear about the misfortune, but that's kind of amazing. How exactly dod that happen? That might be the most crazy way to lose a piece of gear I have ever heard of! Do you know if the cabs on the hotone are the same as the cabs included with the ampero?

Dang, so sorry to hear that! I was hoping you were gonna say you were mid solo in the rain standing on top of a muscle car or something. I'll have to check into that, IRs and specifically power amp emulation were one of my gripes with the ampero.
Hey Taylor - Hope you're well. Excellent series on the Ampero - It helped me in my decision to purchase one! Super stoked to get this in my hands and write some brutes. Keep doing what you're doing - Excellent playing & great ear! Have an excellent weekend, sir!
Hello everyone! Great video! It's just strange that no one speaks about how it works on stage. It is not very convenient to press on two pedals during the concert. And the softness of the sound is lost in the mix. From the experience of live performances, I can say the harder the sound, the clearer it is.
It sounded like the ampro was slightly louder in the mix which kind of made it a bit better. Also with a bit of eq on the top end on the mooer you could get it close enough. I noticed the biggest difference on the rectifier model. Mostly in the lower mids.
I picked up a Hotone Ampero in part because of your first video. I'm more interested in using it as a "does everything" pedalboard in one into the input on my Blackstar amp, as opposed to using it for it's amp modeling. All that said, I'm really impressed with how the amp and cabs sound when recording from the direct out. As a result I'm working on several (NS - ) presets to use with an amp, and then similar presets with amp/cab sims in place. Where did you grab your custom IRs for this demo, and are you willing to share your various "Tay" presets?
Yeah, I'd be willing to share them. I just need to get around to uploading them, but I'm always willing to share my patches. That's awesome. It's a really cool piece of gear and I enjoy using it a lot. The cab IRs I used were from seacow cabs.
Aside from liking the Recto sound on the Mooer better I'd have to go with the Ampero. This may be a dumb question but I'll throw it out there anyways. Even though they sound slightly different at similar settings can you further tweak one to sound exactly like the other?
I haven't tried to do that specifically, but the ampero definitely is has more room to mess with the sound. Like, I feel you could probably get the ampero to sound closer to a ge200 than you could the other way around.
So, I'm a newby to IR's ~ would I be right in assuming that I could use any IR's from different Multi Effects makers HOTONE, MOOER, HELIX etc and import them into ANY Multi Effects board that handle IR's? ... in a nutshell, what I'm asking is that IR's are Not Proprietary to any manufacturer and can be shared by any ? You have a good attitude & I like HOW you explain stuff ...
No, the IRs that are stock in units are generally cab emulations with mics and adjustments, not .wav files that can be transferred. I'd recommend getting some quality IRs you enjoy (ML audio, ownhammer, etc) and you can always transfer those to whatever unit youd like!
I'd love to compare with one, but it's just not in my budget to purchase one to review it and then try to sell it. Maybe one day Mooer will send me one to review LOL
All the patches I though sounded terrible came from the Ge200 ... ouch, I was looking at it, thanks for saving me a purchase I would have regretted ... the ampero is quite a bit more expensive and there are amps models in the amepro that are absolute shite while others are very very good ... decisions decisions ... you could redo this with the 2.03 update on the GE200, maybe the GE200 will be a lot better ... hopefully.
Thanks for this comparison. I just bought the ampero. To tell the truth after watching countless videos on Helix (Flagship, LT, FX), Axe FX (II, III, AX8), Kemper, Boss GT-1000 (also 100 and GT-1), Katana (I and II), Headrush, Mooer (GE-200, GE-300, Preamp Live, Micro Preamps), Bias Head, and finally the Ampero, I think any of these modelers with the right tweaking can sound amazing. I ended up picking up the Ampero for size, look, sound, editor, extra features like loading your own cab IR's, Drum tracks, acoustic sim, switchable sources (I have several synths). Mostly was looking for something in a pedalboard form that could get as close as I get using Bias FX on iPad and Guitar Rig 5 on my laptop. I also play with a drummer that has a studio and good PA system and this is going to kick ass in portability and setup. Everything in a small backpack, my guitar in a case, a few beers and I am ready for a great jam session. I also have a few real lunchbox size mini amp heads (Mahaffay Plexi, AMT Stonehead SH-50-4, Peavey ValveKing II) a Marshall 2/12 vertical slant cab, a Peavey 1/12 closed back cab, a couple preamps (AMT SS-20 three channel Tube preamp w/fx loop and cab sim out, AMT D2 Legendary series Diezel VH4 emulation preamp (no fx loop), and an AMT Chameleon Cab cab sim pedal. All the modelers, the preamps, the amps, the cabs, and my actual pedal effects all sound very good these days. Hard not to be able to dial in a good tone out of all that. Ampero mostly gives convenience and ease on small size but tonal palette being very large. Guitarists are very lucky today with options.
Thanks so much for the great, thoughtful comment. I agree! What a great time to be a guitar player with all the options we have. Yes the ampero is really a great option for someone who likes the portability and ease of use of something like the ge300, but needs the additional I/O options.
