There's a lot to love about the Hotone Ampero. It's small, the sounds kick arse, most of the major tone foodgroups are represented and it has a quick and easy touch-screen editor ...and a great GUI (not shown in this vid). There's not much to not love, really. Check it out.
    Today's tools:
Guitar: Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Super Sport (2016)

@@jozhaoyuansong6937 well thats unfair to say. Its not really the "exact" same work. As an ex-R&D-engineer myself Im pretty sure neither Hotone or Mooer or Nux or any of these brands ever really put that much time and effort and money into R&D for the processing and writing the algorythms for these modelers. As always these chinese brands wait until someone else does the hard and very expensive work, then they just buy an AxeFX, a Kemper and a Helix, they crack open the software, study how the processing was programmed, and copy. Or do you really think that such a young and relatively unexperienced brand like hotone can come up with such a great "Ampero" so darn quickly for so darn cheap and get it so darn good right at the first try? Wake up buddy...welcome to 2021...

    • @zorglub76

@@Driftuner I get that, but in reality, this is mostly software thing here. You chose the right DACs and the rest of the circuitry is mostly vanilla.
And you can't fake software. You have to make it on your own. That's why I think the difference between $1400 Kemper Stage and $400 Hotone Ampero is just the marketing. For god's sake, this thing costs less than the Kemper Remote, which is a thing any DIYer could RD for a couple of hours!...

I don't own one yet, but from some of the samples I've heard (if the effects are all original Ampero), this is a plug in and play miracle. I'm a strat player, and I use a Korg AX1000 G, it's 20yrs old, but, it's one of the 1st modeling pedals that came out. Being, I'm a strat player, using high output single coils, I've tried everything from Line 6, to Headrush, all the effects sound top notch if you have humbucking pickups, but since I bought the Korg back in 2000, I haven't found anything that beefs up the single coils, like it does. It's got 2 set up modes, one for single coil, and one for humbuckers. I can definitely get those "Stranger in Us All" Blackmore tones, Gilmour, with ease, with a light flange, and some echo style delay. But, I play through a JCM2000 all tube stack, so the sustain is more noticeable. But the "Ampero! This thing seems to be that way, all by itself. I hope it is real, and not just another plastic gadget.

      Great pre-amp and multi efx.
      Low noise.
I use 2 Pedal sized 100 watts power amps by Harley Benton. $211 for both.
Carvin mach 100 is the exact copy of these power amps but cost $200 each!!
2 Eminence 12n neodymium guitar speakers 250 watts each.
This rig is 50 pounds lighter and more portable than EVM 12L's.
      Especially after a 2am gig.
I want the Scott Dixon Aluminum 2x12 guitar cabinet.
It super powerful and yet you could carry a 2x12 cab with 1 hand!!!
      Made in the U.K. only.
      No USA distributors yet.
      $1100 each USA currency.
I've seen about 6 or 7 videos where the Kemper Helix Fractel Mooer 300
and the ISP MS THETA PRO matched up against efx boxes and amps that cost 50-80% less and put my earphones on and closed my eyes and turned the volume almost all the way up and either couldn't tell the difference or the sonic quality was 9.5 for the lesser priced units 10.0 for the high end units.
Over half the lesser priced units sounded just as good as the higher priced ones.
I use about 5 sound settings.
Hotone Ampero in my opinion is great but the Mooer 250 which is a little better than the Hotone Ampero when comes to switching sounds but cost $150 more.
I use the Hotone Ampero for Jazz, fusion, and P.W.
      The wah Pedal is amazing!
Again you have a great rig, superb tone, and great riffs.

That's awesome burgs. Can you run this unit straight into say a clean fender twin and use it as a all in one effect pedal? I haven't taken the plunge into the digital modeling world yet, mostly due to not having a heap of time to learn how to use a heap of complicated gear, and also cause I'm not very tech savvy. How easy this unit appears to operate has me thinking it might be time to give the whole digital thing a try. As I don't have any sort of interface or anything other than good old tube amps, guitars and pedals, I just wanted to check if I can just plug it into my fender twin?

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  5 лет назад

You could run it as such, yes. Just turn the amp and cab modelling off. But the foot switch assignment would then be important and I'd have to think a bit how that would be addressed as it's not really designed to be a 'stomp box' type of thing.

@@BrettKingman hey burgs, thanks so much for your response. I guess it would kind of defeat the purpose of that unit by using it with an amp. So bearing in mind that I don't play for people, and don't have the skill/confidence to perform, it's just my mad passion and for the love of it. What would you suggest I might need to start me off?. I'm guessing studio monitors, a decent laptop would be a given. I love my amps, but they are too loud, too heavy and expensive to keep going at their premium. I have been really into little amps like the vox mini beatle I just got, and supro 5w thing with just one knob but it would be nice to be able to get all the sounds I love without having to buy a crap load more amps. I have the helix stomp or hx stomp. Its the one that doesn't have an expression pedal and it only has three programmable foot switches. I like it for clean sounds. There is something going on with the way the gain/distortion sounds that I don't care for. I'm using it with a headrush frfr cabinet and I have used it with guitar amps. I very well may be using it wrong. I haven't downloaded any IR's etc. I haven't messed with global eq much. I'm more into classic set ups. I've spent a lot of money on pedals and gear. I bought the hx stomp to check it out. If I was a touring musician i would learn to love it for the convenience of it. It's not bad at all but it's not a real rig. I'm kinda torn and confused myself man. On one hand I think I should sell it and get an lt for the processing power for stereo rigs and on the other hand i am leaning towards being a traditionalist amp pedal guy.

Vintage Les Pauls and some 70's Japanese guitars that were made by great luthiers. Enough w/ all the nonsense. I have so much gear. I noticed ur struggling with the touch screen lol also it would work better if they put in sub categories e.g. click delays then go into types of delay instead of a singular list for eeeeverything

Looks like you've gotta press fairly hard. Hmmmm how's that gonna last? Some pretty nice sounds though.

If you hook it up to your computer there is an onscreen editor that you can use right on your computer's monitor with your mouse and avoid having to scroll thru the presets the way Bret is demonstrating here. Sounds pretty good to me with how quick he dialed the EVH sound in. Best bet is find one online from a reputable dealer that accepts returns and won't scalp you with a 20% restocking fee the way some of these online retail shysters do.

hi, i have a question, so if i use an extra footswitch, can i assign the 4 footswitches on the unit to turn on or off different pedal ? or is it still 3 preset and 1 ctrl footswitch, and how about the wah pedal, does it uses one of the fx block or does it has its own block ?

Is there a way to disable the looper.??. I’m constantly triggering and recording loops by accident. If I turn loop volume to zero will the unit retain that setting until I turn it back up?
