I love mine. Been using it for about 6 months. Love the PC interface and XLR outputs. By the way, Phil McKnight asked a representative from overseas at a NAMM a few years back and he said on the video it is pronounced “Hot Tone”. You got it right
Old school here too! I like how it is simple and easy to operate. No drama or fussing with features i dont understand and unlikely will use. Just straight up good tone and value.
I have one of those, and you can get beautiful tones, but you need some time to dig inside it. The presets are OK, but you can get a lot better than those tones. The secret is to use the global EQ, adjust it and also a parametric EQ in each pre-set to make it sound more like a real amp. Thanks for the review, you're channel is awesome!!
"Dude" you are a true Professional if not then an inspired thoughtful Genius. I actually really learned something very important from your pointer there and this is one of the First things I will do before anything else with ANY processor from now on: Global EQ + Preset/Amp EQ first and then proceed from there. "Common Sense" isn't so very common, is it? Sincere Thanks.
I've been using amp/pedal simulators and multi effects units for about 30 years now and always find myself setting up 2 or 3 patches that I use consistently. The Hotone Ampero may be something I should look into for the studio.
Love your reviews dude. Because you talk ABOUT THE GEAR. Not yourself or pointless stuff just to hear yourself talk, like so many others.Oh and your playing shreds. ....Winger RULES!
I have had mine since before the Pandemic and I just love it. It's extremely easy to program. I have a great Eddie tone with the Marshall and the phaser and delay, and can switch to a Merle Haggard twang Telecaster sound, and it pulls them both off completely. Purple Rain? Yes. Santana? Yes. The hardest part of any effects unit like this to me is the semi-dirty Skynyrd tone, and I'm still working on that...but I'll get it. You can't beat it for the price.
I have the same Harley benton fusion III. Its an amazing guitar. I will also have plans to buy the Ampero. It sounds amazing. Thanks for this video bro! You are great!
The thing I like the most about the Hotone Ampero is the EDITOR! It's beautiful and easy to use. I never, ever use the touch screen. Great editor, it's a breeze to use, i'm telling ya!
Got one two months ago, and even as a diehard tubehead- I dig it! I use it differently for three different bands. One through the effects return of my amp, with a pair of 1x12 cabs( I turn off the cab sim in one output) in addition to going into the FOH; one straight into the FOH with both cab sims on; and the last through the front end of my Dumble clone just for some of the pedal models, which are also great-though I use a traditional reverb and delay pedal through the effects loop to keep from crushing the reverb). The assignable Control button adds sounds to each patch, making it an amazing live performance tool in an insanely small footprint. The Ampero works well in all situations. Haven't even had time to play with the bass models, drum machine or looper much yet. The looper is great for setting up patches- you can loop and change amps and parameters on the fly. The available two-button footswitch allows for even more versatility. My only real gripes are that it lacks a full effects loop, and I wish it had a separate input for acoustic guitar instead of a switch- I run Fishman Powerbridge piezo on my main guitar that requires a Y cord. The acoustic models sound very good with a piezo- you can remove most of the quack and get believable acoustic tones. Amazing tech for the money-but it boils down to sound, and this sucker delivers! They apparently have version 2 in the works a year or so away...can't wait!
Can the footswitches switch fx on and off instead of just changing presets? And have you ever turned on the looper by accident because the footswitches are so close to eachother? Oh and can the expression pedal do both the volume and wah and switch between them? I have the Helix that's on its last legs and I might just switch over to Ampero after it passes. lol
I've been playing Ampero almost a couple of years along with Cerberus, Pod HD500X and MS-3 and G3nX (got rid of the last two short time ago) Used to play dirty boxes in front of real tube amps, never got in deep love with digital distortions, no matter Boss, L6, Nux or HT (the Boss ones sounded best to me). Ended up putting a Marshall JH1 in front of Ampero to have an analog feeling and as fourth footswitch to drive my tone and now I'm happier the before
Bro you crack me up with some of your facial expressions! Like when you were talking about the old school drum beats on the looping section! Good stuff!
Sounds like a great alternative to axe effects Kemper and helix.. those new classical tones were legit MAX..... JUST KEEP WHAT YOU'RE DOING ON THIS CHANNEL LOVE IT!!!!
Got mine new back when they first came out for $330 on Reverb. You'd think you'd be able to get them cheaper now but I guess they still hold their value with the all metal construction and their durability. More bells and whistles than I know what to do with. I run a drop tune pedal and a wah pedal in front of it and use the on board pedal as a volume pedal since it's too small and stiff to operate as a wah pedal for me. With those two additions I'm set.........

Have had mine for almost 2 years and never had any regrets. My only complaints are 1: (minor) The latest firmware update doesn't let you change the color of the display, and 2: (more important) I wish they would allow for parallel chaining of effects, but I suspect that there just might not be enough processing power internally to do this. Maybe the new version coming out will allow this. With a bit of tweaking I find that I can get this to sound just about as good as the Helix and Headrush at a way lower price point. In a studio you might be able to tell, but in a live situation, nobody in the audience would ever be able to tell the difference
I can still change the color of the display with version 3.8. Maybe something went wrong while updating. Parallel chaining will nog be in this version. It will be possible with the Ampero II Stomp.
