    That is Hwy 84 in Woodside, CA. Back in my youth, my 79 Scirocco and 88 Prelude both knew that road well.

    Great audio...sounds just like my 1980 924! My 924 N/A was my first Porsche, and I don't care what the purists and the haters say...I love it! Thanks for the video.

      They are a true drivers car with no power stearing.. The rack ratios are a bit lower so you can apply better torque..

    I had the 79, it handles great that's about it. It's low to the ground and no power steering so you can take a turn at 60ish mph. Other then that nothing more then a Volkswagen. you can actually fit a same year engine out of Volkswagen in this.

    • @willharris9139
      @willharris9139 7 лет назад +1

      duh the 924 was originally made by VW the blueprints

    • @ralphcenatiempo4902
      @ralphcenatiempo4902 7 лет назад

      This was in response to who ever said the original 924 was one of the better made Porsches blah blah blah.. Scroll down Jack ass.

      +Sin Vida actually the 87/88 924s (in America) had 944 everything under it and the 924 was lighter resulted in this car beating the non turbo 944's. This wasn't the case in Europe because Porsche detuned the engines in the last two years of the 924. The power didn't change in the US because Porsche didn't want to spend millions to emissionize the detuned version.

    Start buying your 924S's Special Edition, if you can find one for sale. Less than 500 Le mans/ Special Editions were made for U.S. market for 1988 year only, and any early or Turbo 924. Magnus Walker is buying them by the handful. The 944S2's in stock form clean and unmolested, and 88-89 944 Turbo and Turbo S models, all going up in value. They are obscured and in the back of the list and creeping up in value. Without the 924 there would be no 944 or 968. The 924 saved Porsche from going under and so did the Boxster. A lot of fun and practical cars. Buy a clean unmolested now while they are still affordable!

      Will Harris they aren't bad cars, (if you can find a good one) I'd like to get a Turbo model.. with the Dog leg gear box. (since it's harder to find a 928 in manual)

      James Nunez it was the somewhat affordable porsche. Think of it that era's Cayman. Your 944 which is shares its platform was the upmarket Grand Touring model and in my opinion is much better looking...

      Nah, if you're just going to dismiss the 924 then the biggest star of the video is the Cobra that drives by at the beginning.

      eyesrightout Have you ever owned one? It may be VW/Audi parts in it, but it's still a great car. It handles fantastic. It saved Porsche from bankruptcy. The 924 deserves way more respect than it's given.

    • @willharris9139
      @willharris9139 7 лет назад +3

      i disagree, i think the 914 is the worst porsche made, the 924 is a fun first porsche until you
      start having problems like mine did, starting problems then clutch went out.

    • @helloby791
      @helloby791 7 лет назад +1

      It's mostly Porsche than VW the engine is a Porsche design people hate the 924 yet it's practically the replacement for the 914
