Wow,,, great job,,, thanks so much..
Is this with .25 or .22 cal slugs?
you think we could get slug liners with the dreamline in the future
@@viciousKev .22
This company is located in any city I want to import guns to Vietnam
I am hanging on every word. Remarkable vid, Matt. Wow!!
Wattup Ted heard you like taking on trucks. Aha cheers bub!
Teddy, I am down in Dekalb, IL I watch your channel as well. You, Matt & Gerhard & Roelf in SA truly have set standards in the air rifle industry. Keep up the great work all of you.
David Roland agreed
There's this guy that also makes great videos, I think his name is Ted, Ted Hold something, knows a lot about airguns.
Matt, this video will be a bench mark for the future. Well done!!!! I think that your work with FX and with Nielson will permanently change the industry in a positive and constructive way. Keep up the great work.....we all are indebted to you for your dedication, knowledge and your perseverance. Cheers:-)
At 1h 16m it took me a while to find the time to sit down and watch this, and being a UK resident with it's 12ft/lb limit, it's unlikely I will ever be in a position to own and shoot a slug capable airgun, but what a super informative video. All of your videos demonstrate your passion for shooting, and I find it amazing how you have taken that passion and really used it to get involved with the development of a gun to shoot slugs and, more latterly, with Element scopes, for the benefit of the shooting community as a whole. Much applause Matt.
An absolutely brilliant presentation about the way slugs are coming into play. Alot of questions answered for me. Keep up the great work.
What an outstanding feat of engineering. Many airgunners in the future will look back to today as the start of the new era in air rifles and what can be done with them. Thank you for all you have done for the industry and cheers for the indepth video explaining it all :)
That’s so cool that fx teamed up with you man! I wanted a fx before, now I really want one.
I have watched this several times.... so much info - Matt is a man after my own heart and puts his heart and soul into his work. I learn something new every time I watch it. Wish I could get some .25 specific into to help me with my Impact, just going into heavy slugs, heavy barrel and tuning kit and saying ta ta to pellets. Great stuff Matt.
Happy to be one of the ones that told you so :) GTA Forum Member ,I home cast and enjoy many of the newly released brands of air rifle slugs that are now available . All within their design purpose and power needs high or low can be a very humane way to take game or pest with weather being less of a factory in success.
BTW .22 IMO is one of the best calibers to start with in air powered slug shooting, with pinpoint accuracy at range, with basic bargain PCP rifles, from there the Dark Side of the Rabbit hole expands.
It just amazes me how air guns have progressed since I began enjoying them as a youth in the 1970's, and never have gone without one in my airsenal ever since.
What an incredibly informative vid.
2 years later and it is more relevant than ever 👍
Many thanks.
Man I made the mistake of thinking this guy was just a bro. He is a true expert and a scientist, who values empirical evidence and development. Respect, my dude
Amazing amount of information and delivered in an excellent easy to follow format. I am not jumping on the bandwagon here but I have been chasing this in .22 for the past 3 years and it is awesome that its time has come. Congratulations to you Matt and all of the folks behind pushing this forward. R&D is not cheap in both time or money and the rewards will be monumental.
The amount of work that you have done testing in conjunction with Neilsen Specialty Ammo and FX in designing both the slug and barrel is incredible . I have watched and subscribed to your channel and have enjoyed getting into the PCP sport much heavier than I would have had had we still been shooting Diabolo pellets . It opened up a whole new world to an Airguns potential .
Thanks Matt , for all you do and to those manufacturers that got us where we are !
Ok WOW! As a newbie to the FX brand I can say that I certainly needed that and greatly appreciate the time you took to bring this informational video. Finally there is hope for this accuracy thirst I’ve never satisfied. Matt thanks again I’ve enjoyed your videos for the past six years!
In the future, people will be talking about you and what you did for the airgunindustry:)
and having sex with robots!
No further questions🤣. Awesome video Matt, and what an experience to be a part of all this. Thanks for the work you've done and continue to do in advancing my favorite outdoor activity!
Thank you Matt. We all appreciate you sharing your extensive knowledge for free to the airgun community. Great video.
You out done yourself this time... Spoiling us with an hour+ video... thanx Matt.... :)from the Netherlands
Fredrik Axelson is a genius and the owner of a premier company in the whole world. The fact that he gave you the chance to test your theories and designs shows he is a very open minded and humble person. It just makes me all the happier to be on my 3rd FX Airgun purchase knowing I am supporting such an awesome company. Matt, you are a great asset yourself to the airgun community and I wish you success in all of your endeavors.
You are making history in airgun world. I knew there is something very special in you when I first saw your video. Unfortunately I have been playing around here in Nepal with 30year old HW 77 still today. Always satisfying to see your vedio. Good luck from Nepal.
Just started researching "accurate pellet guns" after years of having given up on them. Thank you, Matt...impressive knowledge and ability to convey vital details on the industry.
What an excellent and thorough walk through of these barrels. I appreciate the hard work in the development and the video itself. Great work, Matt! I can see snippets of the next piece of AB101 in here.
Hello Matt I am new to the airgun world and recently found your channels and the information you put out to everyone is far superior than others I have watched ,I really appreciate the time you put in to the research and practical use of everything you have learned to help others in being the most educated so we can make the best choices on what to buy and how to get the best out of what we buy thank you very much and keep up the fantastic work you do
Perseverance wins! Awesome job here. You're on of the few RUclipsrs who create content that people will sit and watch for 1+ hour.
Who thought that the guy hunting pigeons with a s410 and a knack for long range shooting will one day contribute the next biggest innovation in the airgun industry.
ambitious, concentrated and accurate analyzer , all of what mentioned is in Matt
all the respect 🙏🏼 thanks
Having just picked up an FX Crown in .22 full power, this kind of information is invaluable, thank you Matt and for your work with slugs and liners, pushing the boundaries is fun sometimes 👍
one of your best videos matt,im a proud south african and enjoy watching your video's as i feel we have much in common!lekker man lekker!
1.25hours! Nice job Matt, I'll off work home, take a cup of coffee and watch!
WOW!!! Matt, I have been waiting for this video from you for a long time. This has to be by far your best video EVER and I have watched every one of them for years. I bought my slug liner on Feb 15th and finally got my NSA 36gr .25 for testing, I was waiting for this video and the digital regs to start. I spoke with Micheal at Rat sniper and scheduled a hunt with him. He says the machine won't be installed and producing until June for those of us waiting for those rat snipers. I can't wait for that hunt, I am jonzin really bad. Once again thank you for all your hard work, this is a game changer.
well done Matt, I saw that prediction you made regarding slugs, I believed you, and I have watched as it came to pass.
Fantastic video, keeping people entertained with absolute ease for an hour and a quarter... It speaks for its self.
Ni
Hi Matt, I have tried numerous lubing solutions, and stumbled on this solution on the internet. Benzine/two stroke oil, 1in 40 benzine to oil. This cleans the pellets thoroughly and lubes them with a very good synthetic oil designed to withstand extreme conditions without creating dieseling in springers. Swirl them in the solution, take them out and wait a minute or two for the benzine to evaporate, and you are done. Compered to all the commercial oils such as a Napier, WD 40 and Balasol, this works very well in my Crown .22 barrel
One of the best and most informative videos I’ve ever watched. Plenty of shooting to keep you engaged and the topics were spot on to incite interest and curiosity. Thanks Matt!
I can't shoot the slugs because of the power restrictions here in the UK but I've learnt more about the dynamics of air rifle shooting from this video than I've learned in over 60 years of airgunning.
It's a pleasure to listen to someone on RUclips who actually knows what he's talking about. Absolutely brilliant... Thank you.
Been following you for years.. Great to see how you've gone from strength to strength and that your know how is now finally applied where it counts. Truly impressive video: Your efforts and well considered approach makes - what is technically tricky, easy to follow and understand. As a mech. engineer, I'm grateful for your detailed technical approach and better understand the variables at play as that trigger is squeezed. Helps problem solve and improve our game.. Thank you. Proudly South African. Cheers Gerry
Wow so much info!! Great stuff I learned a lot , I'm getting ready to make the jump to slugs, my FX Streamline has been amazing but I need those longer shots sometimes. Great Vid Matt.
You're by far the most admired shooter, I'm from Brazil and I've been following your channel for a few months, your knowledge and the way you care to broadcast it is amazing!
I hope one day I can find you and maybe even shoot them together!
A big hug, you are the best!
I'm going to watch this video at least 7x more!
Awesome information once again, very exciting times to be an air gunner. It is great to see manufacturer's of pellets and airgun's beginning to really cooperate and take the airgun industry as a whole to the next level of performance regarding our choice of ammunition. Thank you for sharing this Matt.
Thank you Matt!! you've helped me so much with all of your vid's --but this one!! You are at another level with this one!!!
I am absolutely floored by the quality of information in this video. Beautiful job all the way around. Your impact on this field deserves a Ph.D. Congratulations.
It would be nice to know how you balance the hammer spring, the regulator, and the air flow together. So not to waste air and to avoid muzzle end turbulence. A brilliant video, full credit to you.
Nice Video Matt. As an ex Saffer, now living in Aus, I cant wait to get an Impact M3 Sniper. Its amazing to see how far air rifles have advanced since my Gecado mod 23, I learnt to shoot with in the late 70's..
Well, what can I say that hasn't been said. Ditto! Your input has reinforced my trials and tribulations with testing/tuning .25 STX 700 mm...the only exception I take to your comments is, that of slug costs matching pellets, "problem solved". This will require a period of stiff competition to ever reach a price point that parallels that of pellets. Price point will always follow the trend of what the market will bare. I can't share your enthusiasm, being familiar with the US market place. I can only hope to live long enough to see this come to fruition.
There is already stiff competition! H&N, JSB, NSA, Rat Sniper are all capable to mass producing now. It will just take a few months to get everything to market.
Would like to see you sit down take a new impact and walk thru the tuning step by step to help people understand more. Think alot of people want a FX but think alot are overwhelmed that they might pay that much for a rifle and not be able to get the best results.
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time it just needed
some hunting clips and it would of been absolutely perfect . Dale
Incredible video. If i end up meeting you at one of the competitions, make sure to take me up on the Free beer i definitely owe you for all the work you have put in to truly help move our community forward.
You sir, will go down in the history books as a pioneer of our time.
Great informative vid, keep me occupied the whole time and made me even more excited to receive my liner. Great work.
Exceptional video, Matt. I’m very impressed with all this work and delivery. Thank you.
Answered all of my questions about using slugs. Fantastic vid Matt. Thank you
I am not too sure what compliment to pay you..........you have almost single-handedly overhauled the top end of the airgun market..........a 300% improvement in useful range......such an achievement is massive in anyone's language...........Well done!
Matt this is AMAZING man. I am ordering the dreampup bottle and was debating on what liner. This has absolutely help me make my decision. Keep it up.
Wow! Tons of good info. I'll have to watch this again and probably a third time to get everything. Thanks for taking the time to do this video.
Perfect and informative video Matt. Answered some important questions I’m sure a lot of air gunners have , thank you.
Matt, this is some video to keep in a safe for future reference. I am so glad you made this with the help of a great manufacturer like FX. I own a Crown and would love to hear some info on the 500mm slug liner also if possible. You have done for us , something we were begging for a long time, take the bull by the horns and turn the industry of airguns to overdrive. Couldn't be more happy for you on this "relation" with FX and us for all the great new stuff that is about to start flowing from now on from the whole airgun industry. Job well done. You are the man!!!!
As a developer of high performance long range cartridges, wildcats, and the rifles, I am very impressed. I no nothing about air rifles, but the basics. Everything you’re onto with barrels, projectiles and the charge or psi is right on the mark. Remember the barrel is a tuning fork. This is very important. The barrel crown must be round to round and that is all that can be done. I would suggest concentrating on the precision of the projectiles a little more. Flat based bullets will fly great at shorter distances. Look to modern bullet construction for improved performance designs, but remember to keep the majority of the weight as close to the base as can be. I realize you’re restricted on the length of your projectiles due to magazine construction. I could go on and on, but I liked everything I listened to you talk about. Very very well spoken. You are going down the right road. Keep going and do not be restricted by conventional thinking. Think outside the box. I’m very impressed. I think I might just get a modern high performance air rifle. Cheers.
Nice tutorial vid. Thanks for finding the time to educate air gun enthusiasts, Matt!
I have a hunting licensed Cutlas 5,5mm with 57 joules since 2006 here in Sweden ;) The only pellet that works for me is Jsb/Fx ammo. I shoot alot inside farm barns and a light pellet is the best choice so i don´t make holes in the roof ;) Tnx for sharing :)
Novice from the states. I got out of air guns a few years ago, but just started paying attention to videos/new guns, etc. I started hearing all this stuff about "slugs" and had no idea what the heck they were talking about. Slug liners, slug guns...all that. This video was great in getting me up to speed. I still have a pellet slinger, but I am going to have to look at a slug gun in the future. My daughter is starting to pay attention to small game that run around in the backyard and constantly grabs my air rifle to take a shot. Thanks for doing this!
Thanks Matt. Great info. Waiting on the MK2.
Very nice work Matt. Way to push the industry into the future. Thank you.
Excited for this
THANKYOU MATT YOU'RE GOING TO BE REMEMBERED IN THE HOBBY FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE FOR THIS AMAZING SPORT/HOBBY OF OURS ✌🏼🤩
You've really outdone yourself Matt. This was a fantastic video! Thanks very much!!!
Very good Info, I'm going to watch it again. We set up 2 condors with custom barrels to shoot the nsa 27gr slugs we are loving it so far. The slugs really open up at 100 yards. Thanks for all your time and dedication to this. We do a lot of squirrel hunting and for the better bc we built .257 guns, but the bullet is way too much for the fields we hunt and the ricochets go way too far. Looking forward to hunting with the .27gr.
How did I miss this video? I always knew you are a genius, but this video takes it to another level. Thank you for what you do for the community not to mention the industry! Mahalo!
Excellent info Matt. I shoot a 600mm pellet liner currently but have a slug liner on the way to me. I’m looking forward to testing it out. Thanks for sharing the research and development process.
Excellent!!! I learned a tremendous amount about my FX.
Very very impressive. I can respect hard work and your work ethic. It's amazing what you can do when you are truly passionate about something. Bravo sir bravo. You have become a true marksman in all sence of the word.
Very fascinating - this seems like a great evolutionary step - much thanks for all you do!
Thank you for the Enlightenment & knowledge, definitely looking forward to being part of this (new to me) shooting !!!!
Matt thank you for putting out this video. I have been struggling for a few months trying to tune my impact to shoot slugs and have become very frustrated, to the point of giving up. Then started again, then gave up again. I think the one point I was missing was the hammer spring tuning, I was always maxed. Now I have a renewed hope and will be placing an order for slugs. Hopefully I’ll get better results with the use of your tips. Keep up the great work.
Remember to lube the slugs as well! Makes a big difference. And try both .217” and .218”
I tried plenty of the .217 so I’m trying the .218 on this order and bought some lubricant
Nghĩa là bôi trơn cho đạn phải không bạn ? Thank
Outstanding video Mr Dubber. One if not the best you have done. Thanks so much for the effort. Cheers from Spain.
Great video as usual i think ive seen every video of yours so far ,
I dont have an impact yet i stress that ( yet) i will eventually , right now im shooting an AEA hp Varmint .25 that ive modded with 500cc carbon fiber bottle ,and huma reg , learning more and more everyday about airgun ballistics thanks to guys like you
Excellent video Matt, very informative, slugs are the way forward 👍 😊
Excellent video. Has answered many of my questions to make a big difference for me in competitive shooting. Thanks Matt. Plettenberg Bay.
Fantastic video, I have an Impact Mk1 with a smooth twist barrel. I find this fascinating, and am hoping for affordable slugs in the RSA soon.
A lot of excellent work ! It is also about time a manufacturer spent the time needed in development for a specific slug barrel because slugs have been around for a long time. I have bought them in .177 cal about 20 years ago from Pyramid Air to use in a Falcon Raptor and Logun MKII
Just watched this one again for the fifth time! Thanks for the work and knowledge you share.
Outstanding shipmate. Press on. USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. Jan 1980 to July 1983. Air gunner for life.
Thnx Matt, love your channel!!! Keep up the good work!!
Nice one bro, I've just done my first SL group test out at 178 yards..Zan slugs 23 grain. Only a loose tune running low power too!.....Loving it! Thanks for your efforts dude!
Lewis and Clark had an air gun that fired large slugs when they went and explored part of the western region in the United States. Had to be pumped 150 times to be at full pressure. Since this video was posted air gun technology has advanced in enough as applies to to an air gun, they can now fire .38, .45, and .50 caliber pistol slugs that were never in a brass for a firearm. There are videos on here (RUclips) that show them in use.
This is awesome news! The distance is ridiculous with that kind of predictability and reliability. Great job!
What a great informative video. Would love to get my hands on a FX MKII unfortunately way out of my price range. Keep up the great videos.
Excellent, informative video! Thanks, Matt !
You know what!!!! You ok !!!!! Now this was a great video!! It all made sense. It told your story. And can see the hard work you put into everything. Now that's what makes a product great!!! Thank you. Maybe I'll take my impact out the closest and give it another try. I just learned something ;)
Awesome report and advice, well done.
btw i love youre videos i dont ever get tired of watching youre informative videos
Great vid and info as usual Matt.
Thanks mate
Matt thanks for your time explaining all the slug craze very informative
Great to see Bob! I have seen his slug destruction first hand.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and hard work with us.
What I like about your presentations is that you are dead set honest when you say about not being able to compare the difference in land design from AAA barrels and the FX. A lot of good physics here going on in the background. As always, love your crack shooting!
I was inspired by u so I made a channel of my own. ur content is amazing. Keep it up
Excellent video....everything I wanted to know and more. Exciting times.
You the man. Slugs are the future! Fantastic informative video thanks Matt 👍
Being new to the airgun game, I'd really like to get my head around all of the internal mechanics of the reg pressures, hammer spring settings etc so I can really know what is going on inside the gun- have you (or anyone else) done a video like this for us beginners??
Thanks!
LOVE all that you've done so far- REALLY GREAT STUFF mate!!!
I am new to PCP not Firearms, Co2 or Break Barrels. This information is incredible I enjoy watching your videos and have learned tons.
Your the Stud of Airguning!
Thanks
Thank you bud... you have explained alot of my issues between pellets and slugs... your the man
