You guys have filled a big hole after si and Davey stopped posting. It's just a whole other world to me watching you shoot in beautiful South Africa but so inspiring. Got my buddy coming over tonight, going to zero some new pellets and go night hunting. Cheers Matt take care

Keep it up. Hopefully someday I can bump into you. Tbh, I'd love sit down and pick your brain. I've learned alot from you along the way. You have a way of explaining things to us so we understand them the first time, you make information so easy to sink in. I appreciate all you do, I appreciate your videos. Keep them up, you have me checking RUclips numerous times a day for new videos. Keep it up Matt you are the man
Fantastic shooting ability, I’ve watched you shooting over 500m in the past ; but lead into water? You seem to use it as a ranging medium, not cool in the 21st century. I shoot invasive species. You are just maximising citrus fruit growth for 50 m along a small edge of the industrial farming style. Please let the little fellas have a meal . I once knew an old guy who used to live in East Africa and he used to hunt lions with a spear. Not joking, just a spear . Give that a go and I’ll subscribe as will a couple of million more followers 👍
Great video bro! I'm always impressed with your output, not only for the quality shooting but also for the fantastic panoramas of your South African countryside. would love to visit one day.
Love your vids. Your productions have come a long way over the years. One of the best hunting channels out there. Very informative, with some great cinematography to boot. And not to mention, some of the best hunting vision on a regular basis. Would love to go to S.A. one day.
Every time I see there's a video, I now what I'm going to enjoy watching while I eat lunch. Always entertaining, and informative. Thanks @AirArmsHuntingSA
The drone footage is beautiful… really seasons this video perfectly. That’s snake looks a lot like breakfast sausage we have in the USA. Regardless that looks fit for a king! Those critters look like a cross between a fox and a groundhog. We don’t have anything like that in the states
Matt congrats on your marriage.👍 I am glad to watch another ox wagon. I will probably not make a S. A. Hunt . I will just have to enjoy your ability. Thanks for all your work. Dave Minnesota
Loving your videos - I lived in SA for 8 years and your clips remind me of how beautiful the country is. I'm from the UK and with all the political crap around Brexit, I wish I was back in SA. Looking at that Boerewors (Snake ha ha)frying in the pan made me hungry - thinking of some stywe pap and gravy to go with that - shame we don't have it here.
A heavier slug just penetrates so much better and the projectile speed is well maintained. My view is that a magazine for this will be brilliant! Very well done once more.
Matt; Those slugs that look like rimfire bullets have an effective bearing length that may be too short. That could allow some angularity with the bore, especially on loading. That could cause some cork-screwing...
Speaking from experience, you're going to regret every minute of unprotected UV exposure. It will all appear with a vengeance around 50 (comes faster than you can anticipate) Expect hundreds, if not thousands of cryo-surgery spot removals for precancerous keratosis. My advice would be to wear wide brim hats and long sleeve wet shirts which you can spray with water (especially your arms) to keep cool. It works far better than short sleeves and sunblock. White skin can burn in 10 minutes, probably faster in SA with its high UV index.
I'm an indian, i work 8 hours a day under the sun and so did my forefathers before me. No one went through anything like you mentioned. May be its the type of body make and part of the planet where we live in.
I noted when terminal ballistics was testing hollow points with jacked bullets on pistol rounds, some of the pictures of round soft nose un jacket bullets actually had some really nice mushrooms. LBT used lead with many high power pistol rounds with great effects. And again we see the same thing. The hardness of the lead compound and the shape seems to be a big key. LBT was able to add gas checks to eliminate leading and stripping from high velocity to rifle speeds. Great work!!
@@AirArmsHuntingSA ok nice... but i was actually referring to you doing a catch clean and cook lol i think it will be cool though love your content anyways
Brilliant video as always. You should try painting the back of the pellets with a bright colour so you can really see the pellet fly, edgun leshiy has some good videos of how he does it

I have one of your special built guns a LOVE it. I took it out to a gun range an people could not believe it was a Air gun. Out shot alot of people at 50 an 100 yards .
Matt and Gerard, What a great video from two pals. I want to thank you both for bringing me along on you journey through some of South Africa's hills. You guys are so far away, but have managed to put us all right in the action. From the fresh cups of morning coffee, sizzling sausage and eggs, to those powerful projectile impacts cracking into the heads of dussies, this was as fun a video to watch as it was to admire those beautiful air rifle tools. On a Friday evening and from VA in the States, thanks again guy. Stay safe! P.S. I would love to purchase some, but can't find those JAVELIN slugs anywhere in the US!
It’s a pleasure! We have a large shipment of Javelin slugs on their way in a container, there are just some logistical hoops we have to jump through with customs.
I'm jealous. Looks like fun. I have a .25 Uragan King that loves slugs! .31gr is the heaviest i've shot out of it. I have some 43gr and 55gr slugs on their way. I'm not sure if I will have to load them single or if they will fit on the magazine. Keep the great vids coming.
I envy you guys. You have nice weather all the time ,you have some really nice equipment, and all kinds of opportunity to go hunting the abundance of wildlife. I enjoy watching it all.
Great freaking beautiful video. The PTE is an outstanding work of art and I admire the centerfire design... but it really doesn't hold a candle to the Matt Dubber Impact. I'll give up the extra 10ft lbs for the non hold sensitive, mag fed, ultra light, ultra compact FX Impact.
I haven't seen any videos on people adjusting their turrets/scope magnification for different distances. Can you share your preferences on this topic? Maybe create a video around this?
I wonder if you have tried with the slugs you use what in the States is called dieseling? Just a little Vaseline petroleum jelly in the pocket in the back of the slug actually improves it's shooting stats. delivering more ft. pounds to the target.
That works with spring air rifles, not PCPs. The sudden compression in a "springer" heats the air enough to ignite combustible lubricants. The heat generated when compressing air for a PCP is rejected at the compressor. You get more power with dieseling springers, but it is very hard on their seals and spring. A clown-show that damages your airgun pretty quickly. Getting consistent dieseling is difficult and pellets are not accurate if you shoot them too fast. So, just say no to deliberate dieseling.

Your videos are great; I would give a thousand likes if possible; A big hug from Brazil to you!!!!
Very nice shooting, finely dialed in. Have you suggested to farmers using the "electric fence" for stopping them.. Maybe sending a line to them with a link to an "Electric Fence" setup??
Such great pesting/hunting videos!!! Would have to say that it's fantastic to see you both together in these incredible places. The presentation, content and editing is basically amazing! So very many dassies out there! I'm sure after a few times out to these places the farmer should notice the special work you guys actually do... The PTE looks like a tank, shoots wonderfully, and that ping sound can be remedied by using a cushioning type of material in the cylinder I'm sure. Something to investigate!? Then shooting it would be extremely enjoyable! As for the FX Impacts, their setup, tunings, and fantabulous barrels, I REALLY don't think anything comes close how they perform. ALWAYS a pleasure to see material from S.A. and coming from you professionals, yourselves, well that's an extra added bonus of course :-)
I've got a question about scope height. When using FX No Limits rings, how do you measure scope height when the scope is tilted slightly? The center of the scope is not at the same height through out. Sorry if this is a silly question. Thank you in advance for your time and help.
I like the shot in the barrel, i wish for 90deg. and some sheets of newspaper on top of the water surface...thinking of a slomo underwatercam.../fishtank with one side made of truck tube rubber sheet. Thx for the nice footage so far.
A curious thing I noticed. The Monster cans you used in this video have nine time world champion Valentino Rossi's nick name on them. He retired the same year from Moto GP. Hope you didn't hurt his feelings lol. Keep up the good work. You guys have a great balance on your channels down there in SA. Maybe you can start manufacturing slugs here in the States. Huge potential since burner ammo is hard to find and laws are getting stricter for powder burners Take care.🏍

The solid slugs hitting off center of nose is from yaw as the slug is spinning, going from air to much denser water. You would see the slug curl like a curve ball if you took high speed video through water or ballistic gel

On your expansion water test, could the slug have deviated in the water and grazed the side of the barrel that made those offset dents instead of tumbling and hitting the bottom, they look like more of a slicing cut to me? Keep up the good work! ;)

I'm 66 - I promise I've had no cryo-anythings. Nor have millions of other people
Not true, it depends on the person and how well their skin can handle sun exposure. Some people make more melanin than others.
