The smile when you first pick up the two guns is priceless.
I love your perspective about guns. You are very detail oriented. I’m new to the pcp world and have learned so much valuable information from you. I have the same taste in guns as you also. I have been doing plenty of researching and learning from many different people and the impact and the crown were my top 2 choices as of now. Thank you for all your very valuable information that you provide. I think I just might have to purchase both guns. Haha. It’s too hard to decide. We only live once.
Very true
Matt,
You really made me decide for which of the both FX air rifle I should purchase.
Thank you for showing this video in comparison and the diference between both of them.
I was indecided which one to buy and after watching your video I purchased the FX Impact with 2 aditional barrel kits.
Now I have .22, .25 y .30 caliber and it is perfect for taking to the field.
I mostly use my FX Impact for Iguana control here in Puerto Rico using the .25 caliber barrel which is a knock down with head shots, especially at long distance shots.
That is what I was looking precision en los tiros.
The Crown and the FX Impact are great air rifles, but since I do most of the walk trought trees, vines and heavy brush I got me the FX Impact!
I really love my FX Impact!
Gracias!
Al
Great perspective Matt and as usual edited very well. Got my .22 Crown with the green laminate stock last Saturday. Perched on top the Aztec Emerald.
Well done Matt i already own the FX Impact and was looking to add another rifle to my collection. Being a fan of FX guns i was leaning towards the Crown. Your videos always answer many of my questions and concerns, and this one has helped with my decision . Thanks from Canada
I hope that fx builds a impact pcp, or a crown version that has a protected barrel.that shoots 40 grain solids like a 22lr. And 700 mm barrel. Nothing fancy , just single shot 40 grain high power, 700cc pcp bottle. Barrel must be protected against bumps. Price under 1450 euro. Option to order from FX directly. Simple stock.
I'm from Indonesia...very impressed with your videos...I really like it, so I always watch every one of your videos about rifles
Great video Matt making some good points on rifle or bullpup I switched to bullpups and will probably never go back to rifle for hunting unless it is open field hunting pup is so much more manageable in the woodlands of my area. Keep the video's coming!
face you shoot very well and with that equipment even better. what a shame that here in the country that I live in Brazil we do not have access to these good gear-our government's charge of absurdity matters to the value arrives ten times but expensive so we are held hostage to our country's manufacturers that manufactures a lot of equipment that is not worth anything and charge a gulf this and our brazil
I started shooting pcp with a Gamo gx40,and it was a great rifle, then went on to a hw110,and now also I’ve got the crown mk2 in synthetic vp stock, sak moderator and an atn x sight 4K pro scope, day and night vision so good to go anytime 😎👍😎
I had the same issue as you with my Daystate Griffin, beautiful gun but you get scared of scratching it. But after months of waiting I now have an Impact and the Griffin got traded in.
That is a brave bird destroying that bench around that many air rifles in such close proximity.
Very informative, thanks! Impact for hunting, Crown for target. The Crown barrel has a lot of leverage on the only one point of support/connection.
Lots of helpful information in this video Matt, I don't own a bullpup but maybe I will consider one in the future. I am looking at the Crown in .25. or .30.
Me too
Thanks for the detailed discussion about bullpups and rifles. It is really helpful information for those deciding which to buy. Can't wait for the Pategonia videos! Best regards. Jess
Definitely an impact 👍. Not as pretty but it can obviously handle more bumps that go with day to day pest control. Would the 600 mm slug liner barrel be ok to use pellets through it? Any loss of accuracy using the slug liner with pellets?
I only able to afford low price SPA/artemis/greyhound, and I choose P15 bullpup instead of M16 rifle simply because I need that small size because I bring it to range with my scooter I put it on the front deck and I need a longer/bigger air capacity which for my case the bullpup one has a lot bigger capacity.
And I also want to try longer barrel like you too, so I ended up with bulpup.
For those who drive cars/truck and have their own portable tank and dont want the longer barrel, I think traditional rifle is more suitable.
So happy to see you again man I just search for your chanel today & found there was no video available but it seems like RUclips issues now being satl down
3:46 "Destructo-Bird" looked awfully interested once a gun was lifted up!
I keep thinking... when will I be able to have a rifle, which is like your review, I always think so, but frankly there are no funds to have it..
as a subscriber...I always salute you...joss, carry on boss, I hope you continue to be successful..
Matt! first of all, love your work and have became a better shot because of your videos "my Opinion Anyway", From Namibia, i only have a springer as PCP air rifles are hard to come by in Namibia, was wondering when you're going to come over for a Hunt in Namibia, i mean we Basically have the same hunting culture as u guys in SA, only a different environment/climate.
Keep up the good work and more hunting videos please, be it centre fire or air rifle..Great work..
Very pretty, the crown particularly. I wish they did a nice laminate stock like that for the independence!
I had way too much coffee before I filmed this
AirArmsHuntingSA, haha......
When is your hunting video coming?
Im waiting sir
Your the best Matt take care
Van you do a fx streamline vs a fx crown pls en you are te best 👍🏻
There can never be to much caffeine! Great video Matt! As usual.
AirArmsHuntingSA obviously the 'pup is lighter.
Know anyone interested in a .22 Monsoon, with a fore-grip bi-pod?
I had a beautiful hardwood stock made for it aswell.
Mine needs new seals, and frankly i'm shooting more .22lr with my daughters theses days, (i have a few thousand rounds of copper-plated hunting ammunition aswell).
I have an Evanix .22 pistol for sale aswell, if you know anyone who might be interested, (it has four cylandars).
Beautiful bird.
👍
love that little bird! it's SO AWESOME!! Another Awesome Video Matt!!!
If you should happen to read this comment i would love to know what the groups are like on that 177 Crown. i am assuming its running at the standard 18ft/lbs. This is the setup that i am tossing up on, but i am concerned about the possible spiral effect on the pellets. At 18ft/lb do they behave and if so mind me asking what you are using pellet wise. Thanks. Great video by the way.
The smile on yiur face when your talking about the impact.... You love that gun! 👍
Who says a guy can love his rifle??? I can't say I blame you, these are great looking pieces of engineering, and that's a fact.
Obi-Wan?! Best name ever!!
thats my dogs name......my old dog was Neelix ;-)
Wrong kind of bird though. Should be Obi-Wan Canary.
Personally I'd prefer the crown. But that's based mainly on Aesthetics. You should keep the one that's most useful to you for your purposes. And you're the only one that can answer that question. I've heard that the impact requires a significant amount of fiddling to keep it in top operating condition, and that's not the case with the crown. And if that is indeed true or been your experience that I would certainly choose the crown.
The biggest advantage of the impact as I see it is its compactness. I suppose that for a working gun not having a nice wooden stock can also be an advantage. Because I'd be constantly worried about damaging the stock.
Good video. I had basically the same sesults as you with the NSA .25 slugs. Waiting for a more specific lines.
The best choice is to fit the Crown x barrel onto to the Impact, then you've got the best of both worlds.
So glad to see you back Matt keep up the exceptional work.
Good video, however the crown having no leaks, kinda a bold statement if seen more than a hand full of reviews of leaking
Love your vids..... never miss it, I'll choose FX IMPACT.177 for our region cause of the size and handy handling in the jungle where lots of cane and creepers around in our forest plus i can group my Air Rifle around in 9 to 10 in outdoor shooting field targets 😍😍 for me FX IMPACT IS BAE
Engzat in nge i lei hrim hrim...
Crown hi a nalh bakah ka mit a la khawp mai kei😀
ATTENTION PLEASE
I think you are one of the most experienced person in Airguns.
I want to ask you Brocock Airguns.
What do you say about Brocock Airguns?
Are they good and reliable gun?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of Brocock Airguns?
What are the disadvantages of Brocock Bantam as compare to Fx Impact?
Please I'm waiting for your answer.
- From India
great vid. i like your reviews, i just got my first air gun its a benjamin prowler i havent shot it yet, cant wate to upgrade it soon.
Get cleaning pellets (cotton pellets) and some silicone oil (won't detonate). Enjoy!
A very nice comparison discussion, Matt. I hope that you might make a video looking at 700mm Smooth Twist-X vs other barrel options for the Impact .25. Cheers!
The bullpup hands down. Lighter, more compact, better balanced and just as accurate!
My friend .22 ou .25 wats you prefer?
Wow, this is the earliest I've ever been! Matt, LOVE the channel ! ! ! !
If you ever get a chance, and the weapon, it would be the greatest thing ever to do a hunt with a .38 Super 1911 ! Big love and thanx from TEXAS!
I shoot a semi-bullpup Brocock Bantam, the best of both and ultimate accuracy to boot, what is there not to like :) good vid Matt and Obi one !
Your place is picture perfect,,, having an fx and a crown, combined with a very beautiful hunting place,, is heaven already,,
Fantastic video again. I am lucky to own the FX Impact and the Wildcat plus the HW100 all sub 12ft/lb and like you I always go to my Impact I just find it an amazing rifle for hunting because I shoot at night and use the Nitesite system I love the impact for being able to add all the toys.
Your video had shown me a lot and I did not think about why a the trigger was so good.
Keep it up mate
My dream.........make the Dreamline with the power of the Impact🥰😄! You would have the power for 200yd. slug hits all day long, and the classic beauty of a laminated Monty Carlo style stock.....yuuummmmmmm!!!
Good to have you back mate
What about for off hand shooting ? Which one would preform better? Maybe you could do a video on shooting both off hand. Just a thought. Great videos and thank you .
All i can say is nice AG and information..
Great to see you back online after the purge!
FX in the UK need to pull their finger out, I have been on a waiting list with ASI since August 17 waiting for a Crown....
Great video Mat, I have little time in the world of pcp, I have a umarex gauntlet .25 but my dream is to have a beautiful FX rifle. Greetings from El Paso Texas.
I would argue that the FX Impact isn't very complicated but it does cost a lot
I liked your video before watching it. I know you always have great videos. Keep it up man👍🏻
Same.
I'm leaning towards buying a wildcat compact in .25. I always thought the crown was to long.
Which of the two is quieter? I assume the Crown with the full shroud. But you seem to have a large moderator on the Impact.
In Spain we have a limit power in airrifles of 24 joules. (I write this so that you all can know). More than 24 authorities do not allow.
Good review Matt!! Two very fine air rifles!! Thanks for showing!!
Great review and congratulations. I have a question. I’m an ELRI shooter in the US, and am new to air rifles, and just got an RTI Prophet. I am used to shooting the 7.62, 300 Win Mag and 338 Lapua mag, and for standing shots we generally wrapped the strap with the rifles. Does anyone use straps for shooting stability with air rifles?
Magic Expelation Matt as always
Keep it uo Mate 1A
Ask Ted if he would shoot bench with any other gun than the Impact. Hands down the Impact! Ya know which Ted I'm taking about the one that likes the hold over.
Well I love my inpact it is an awesome airgun. Thanks for the info as always good video.
Very informative video Matt, cheers
Matt, I think you must put all your knowledge together... and write a complete airgun handbook. Tell me when you do it and send me a signed copy. Your videos are usefull, and easy to understand. and I must tell that I'm a speaking spanish guy.
I didn't hear you mention the weight comparison. The dealer website i use shows the crown continuum (i own) at 5.85 lbs and the impact mk2 (i want to own) at 6.2 lbs. Not a lot of difference? Yes?
The Impact looks lighter than the Crown so that throws me.
Would it be safe to say that the harmonics would be better on the crown but if you tune it for harmonics then the mass advantage is moot?
Congrats on number two position, saw that on Giles channel. Wheres your video of event ???
NEVER too much coffee!!!!!! Love all f your vids, Matt!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
You forgot to mention that Bullpups generaly have a bigger discrepency in hight between Scope and Boreaxis, but it's not that big of a deal anyway
It's a shame Fx guns in the UK 12fllb are not good. You never see them in a FT and HFT comps. I've had wildcat, bobcat, verminator mk2 all .177 and few more other FX rifles and. The accuracy was stocking so I doubt I would buy another Fx gun. Unless someone can do a 1 hole group at 50 yards in 12fllb. Of course Fac power they are great.
Time after time , great videos!
Matt isn't it easier to shoot a rifle off-hand than it is to shoot a Bullpup? Also you didn't mention the difference in the weight of the two and whether weight is a factor. Secondly what distance/cal was it that won and placed in in the BR competition?
Finally did you special tune the Impact to get the 45 fpe or does it come from the factory already tuned to that level? Thanks for the video, very helpful
Yes Matt. You’re back!!!!
NICE VIDEO"S!!!! I have an question. I'm a hunter, but also want to shoot benchrest. Now I don't know what to do: FX Crown or Dreamline (because what you told about the position of the bipod). What is your advise? (I'm 66 years young)
Is that your pet parrot on the bench at 03:07?
looking to compare FX wildcat to Benjamin Akela (.22)
Thanks Mr. Matt for the details about these 2 awesome air rifles. This video has helped me made a decision to go with which style of FX air rifle. I picked up an X soon after many thoughts that fits my style and how I handle my tools. Other reasons are like the X does hold the barrel better, easier to manuever around, like pistol grip style, large capacity mag, big bottle of air, position of cocking lever within trigger due to not so large hand of mine, light versus heavy although the Crown got an irresistible laminated stock, overall length is at best with accuracy and added Belita make it superbly less noisy. Thanks and love your reviews.
Matthew, thank you for your insights and great points made on the dilemma addressed. I am leaning toward the Impact in 30 caliber for larger game hunting and well, I just want to have a big bore, highly accurate repeating air gun. I watched your Patagonia series and fell in love with the 700mm equipped Impact you make mention of. My question is about what sort of velocity can I expect with the addition of the longer barrel? Also, I am interested in whether or not the new X barrel will carry the slugs you also reviewed and demonstrated. I was a bit windy there but do not know how else to pick your brain. Thanks much. Bret
Another great vid. Respect and love to SA.
I notice a lot of the screws and fittings on the impact are starting to rust, have they switched over to stainless parts on newer models?
Thank you, very informative
Pleas.What is beter?I need for hunting pigeons..and for hunting..😁Crown or impact m3?And call?177 orr 22?
Have been wondering if you have had the pleasure of using DonnyFl's ldc's and spotted one on the streamline! Once again a great video, thank you sir!
I want to varmint hunt and possible coyote hunt with it but can’t decide on either the crown in .25 or .30 or the impact x 700mm in .25 or .30. What would you recommend? Thank you and i love your channel!
Great comparison video, thank you Matt. Custom HUGGET? Is the barrel recessed into the suppresser?
I really appreciated your point that the bullpup barrel was largely protected since it didn't project so much, which should help you keep your accuracy better, especially when going through brush, getting knocked around(maybe even just leaning against a wall too long?), etc. This hadn't occurred to me, but it made me suddenly like bullpups a lot more.
Hello im thinking of buying a impact 30 cal but im wundering abut the o-rings howe mutch trubel they bring want the impact for its compact and accuracy but don't want trouble with rings every time im gonna youse it. Great channel kep it up :D
Is there a reason why both airguns are on fire and not on safe? I know they're not loaded, I'm just wondering...Thank you for this review, I think I have to get one of each lol.
........ yeah, I'm guilty of that one myself. If it weren't for the auto safety on my Diana, it would probably never be on. Bit of a difference on a single shot underlever springer though I suppose, but still a bad habit to have. On the other hand, never relying on a safety to make a gun safe is arguably a better habit to have. It's my go to and why I often forget about the safety altogether.
Where is your Air Arms?
Which barrel length do you like for your impact? 500mm or 600mm?
So, what happened? Did RUclips just reinstate you without a word? Did you at least get an apology? Maybe a video on this whole nonsense would be interesting. Glad to see all your videos are back BTW.
Y si en Crown pongo un barel de 700 mm mejora la precisión??
When you decide send me the other one 👍🏻
Lol nice vids wish i i had money for one of those.
Thanks Matt..... excellent vid!
I love your videos. I wish i can have one of that rifles
Hi Matt nice review which of these 2 rifles have less oring problem and leakage problems please tell me
why cant you add a longer barrel to the crown ? they sell 700 mm i thought and barrel liners etcetc
Matt how many shots can one expect from the crown 30 cal between fill ups
Safe trip Matt, another good video.
Luvin these videos Matt, keep them coming, Cheers
One question: How did you hang your two extra magazines on the Wildcat?
I want a gift like that for chrismass
