  • The 2025 KTM 350XCF might just be the best Do it All 4-stroke dirt bike.
    How much better can WP Pro Components Suspension (VS forks and TRAXX shock), Connectivity Unit Offroad, and full Akrapovic exhaust system make my favorite combination of Power/Weight/Handling in a 4-stroke dirt bike?
    My 2025 KTM 350 summery video to date.
    • Best Do it All 4-Strok...
    350's are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling and this latest 350 engine in the updated 2025 KTM chassis with new WP spring forks does not disappoint! The latest 350 engine has stronger low to mid power compared to the KR350 and still pulls forever on top and both of the stock EFI maps run clean and crisp. The complete Akrapovic exhaust system on the 25 350XCF is quieter, lighter, pulls strong, and has a spark arrester too. With the Connectivity Unit Offroad it is easy to dial in the power character of the 350XCF. For woods riding I dial back the power and throttle response using the Gravel/Wet base power map. In the Advance settings option I minimize throttle response, minimize engine braking, and maximize Traction Control. This combination really smoothes out the initial throttle response making the 350XCF easier to ride on tight trails. Minimizing engine braking frees up the chassis and gives the bike a "lighter" feel in motion. At the MX track I can use the CUO to turn up the throttle response and use the Sand/Dry base map for a little more power feel. The CUO offers the option to change the engine power and character.
    The updated WP spring forks are impressive! The rear of the bike has more comfort too with the updated frame along with linkage and shock changes though perhaps still not as compliant as the KR350 chassis/frame on the chop and sharp inputs. This updated 25 chassis is a great combination of cornering and stability and precision.

    Love this video and starting my search for a 350 for 2025 - i was fortunate enough to ride a beta 390 last week and i really did like but just like my rx300 it was very wide sliding forward on tank and the mid stroke harshness in the fork - my 300 is getting better - i do have to say my KTMs are more comfortable and i love the air fork - to me fork is most important as it hits everything 1st - great video

    i think i told you i had racetech put a cartridge kit in my 1986 cr125 forks back in the day, i lied, they were gold valve emulators, i just found the paperwork......i guess being old you forget.....but anyway those forks felt good.....i actually put them on my 1984 rm125 one time and with the stock full floater in the rear those honda forks felt better on the RM than the cr.....i was so scared the forks would break or something and i would crash having them on the RM so i took them off.....i should of bought some emulators for the RM but i was a spaz back then.....today i would of done things a lot more different......i had that grin when i was riding that RM under my helmet......do we get a make-over of this life when he pass.....lol

      Great story! I still think a set of Showa 50mm right side up forks dialed in by a factory Showa tech on my buddy's 1997 RM250 were some of the best forks I've ridden to date!

    How do you feel about this new 25. bike compared to your KR? Best regards

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  Месяц назад +1

      The KR350 has a slighter lighter feel in motion with a tick quicker steering and a little less stability at speed. The KR350 engine is more like a beefed up 250F feeling - loves to rev and also a little more stall prone. The 25 350XCF engine is more like a mini 450F with more low to mid and still pulls strong on top and less stall prone at low RPM's. The 25 350XCF engine is simply the best all around 4-stroke I've ridden to date and with the CUO I can dial in the power character. The updated 25 350XCF chassis is an excellent balance of cornering and stability and bump compliance. Both are great bikes.

    How does the stock suspension come out the box? Is it firm but plush? Use all the travel etc?

      The latest WP spring fork and rear shock setting on the 25 KTM 350XCF is very very good off the showroom floor. It is easily adjustable and works over a wide range of riding conditions. I used the myKTM ride app suspension setting section to get recommended suspension settings for different off road riding conditions as a starting point then sping the clickers from there. I am 6'2" tall and 195 lbs and works great for me.

    which do you think is best, ohlins rxf or WP Xplor pro or kayaba factory kit?

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  8 дней назад +1

      They are all really good when dialed in for your weight and riding skill. I have a few sets of WP Cone Valve spring forks and have moved them from bike to bike many times. I lean towards WP Pro Components for my Austrian bikes because they are similar/same as what some of the factory bikes use so WP has KTM design background and real world experience racing with the components.

    Your woods pace has increased. Can't decide between the National or the trax for the rear. Upgraded to the 4.0 on my rekluse. Mine is the 23 and I have 40 hrs on it so my frame has loosened up, bike is awesome.

    Do you think there’s a big difference between the CUO unit and a Vortex ignition?

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  Месяц назад

      If you have someone that can map and tune the VORTEX there is perhaps more options for different maps etc. The 2025 350 stock engine maps are really good and $190 for the base CUO unit adds the ability to tune the engine character - that is the best value in my opinion.

    Man, your missing the boat without the LIT pro attachment. I have a GP loop myself and its down to the second with areas you can improve on. Where did you get the Redbull graphics from? To my understanding they are not available unless you buy the F.E.

      Yes I have played with LITPRO and it is a very cool feature with so much data and capability! I still have it on my 24.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition (which is also the source of RB plastic transferred over to the 350).

    What do you think about the beta 350&390 compared to the ktm?

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  Месяц назад

      The Beta's have a more full flywheel feel engine with a slower RPM build with smooth power and excellent low RPM rideability. I find the Beta Race Edition KYB suspension works over a broader range of conditions and riders though it is still an off road focused plush setting. The Beta's are heavier and feel heavier in motion compared to the KTM 350XCF. The KTM 350XCF engine revs faster and makes more peak horsepower and less happy at near idle RPM's so more stall prone at slow speed. The updated 25 model year KTM 350XCF chassis is more compliant and a great combination of cornering and stability. The latest WP spring forks and shock have an excellent off road setting that that works great on trails and crosses over to slow Vet moto well. Nice to have choices!
