    I have the 2024 250 xcf and 2023 250 sxf. Both are awesome bikes and have almost identical performance. I can’t say enough about how superb these bike perform. There are very few noticeable differences between the two bikes. The Xcf has a kick stand, thicker back tire, and spring vs air forks. My 14 year old son rides the sxf at the track and we substantially reduced the air pressure in the forks to accommodate his 127 pound body weight. Great video and review.

    Taco moto is doing a teardown of 2023, one particular change for 23 , they've gotten rid of molex power connectors and went with water dust proof connectors. Also i think the fuel pump is improved.

    I ride in the lower 70% of the throttle on a 350 xc-f, but it's nice to know if I need some ponies, I can just twist the throttle more, lol. I have a 450xc-f too, but ride the 350 most of the time(I love the 6 speed).

      Does the 350 grunt like the 450?

    • @bradl45
      @bradl45 2 года назад +2

      No, the 350 does NOT have the 450 grunt, but when I'm riding single track, the 350 has enough grunt for me and doesn't need much clutching. I do equally well on a 500 or 350 on rocky single track and T1 type stuff.
      A 450 I have to manage the throttle closely, but slow single track, I never fear a stall, lol. Wide open desert race and sand, I really love the 450xc.

    Yep! I wanted the new ktm350sx and I figured I'd use my 21 GG EX350F for open desert (wanted yours but you laughed at me). But the GG is so good on the track also that it's just not worth it to get the SX short of winning the 1.28 billion. So i changed my mind, the bike checks off too many boxes for all kinds of different riding, vet track, gp, desert. Just a vet track slow guy. Now if KTM would stop messing around and put the six speed on the 450's, then I'd look at the 350 sx for track and 450 xc/ex/fx for open desert. I'll see when the season starts again but the time I had it in the desert you can feel a little gapping in the gearing on the 350 under load (just long uphill sandy type stuff, high rpm in gear, upshift and it'll drop off in the taller gear) maybe a pipe and ecu would help or a more aggressive riding style. Suspension cost $$$ but at least it's not splitting cases on a new bike to add the 6th gear the 350 already has.

      Completely agree - 450XC and gasgas EX450 should have a close ratio 6spd. But not the typical ktm massive hole between 1st and 2nd EXC wide ratio 6spd.

      I also bought a 23 xcf and I could just not get the fork to function conformable for me. I did a spring conversion and I'm a lot happier with how it works now. On my 22 xc I absolutely loved the air fork iso I'm not sure if it's the new chassis or the fact that I switched from 2 stroke to 4. Other than that I absolutely love the bike.

    I have heard alot about the Race Tech spring fork conversion and KYB but not so much about the WP drop in spring conversion. Do you know much about them?

    • @Mineratron
      @Mineratron 2 года назад

      K-Tech do AER to spring conversations which get great feedback too. Having ridden the 21.5 and 22 SX-F AER forks, I’d say maybe ok with a revalve, make it more plush.
      Unless it’s that rising rate at the bottom of the stroke with the incompressibility of the air spring that people don’t like?
      Last rebuild I went with 400ml oil volume in my spring cone valve forks, for running MX and desert. Currently running an XC spring rate anyway. It’s great on track and in the dunes when you don’t know what you’re going to hit.
      Thinking about it, it’s hard at the bottom of the stroke for trails/enduro. Definitely would go back to 365 or 375ml for enduro setup (when my 300SX arrives 🥳). Guess the AER fork feels the same on the trails? Just lacking that bit if forgiveness you get at the bottom of the stroke with a spring fork?

    People need to realize, the xc-f was made for GNCC style riding, which is fast paced woods riding, I have the 23 350 xc-f, it is perfect for the woods, fast, powerful and is very flickable in the trails. The closest to a 2 stroke for woods riding that I have ever had. The term, “Race Ready” sounds cliche, but it’s true that they’re the most race ready bike out there, and the build quality is fantastic in my experience. As far as the 450 shootouts go, it depends which one you watch. MXA has chosen the KTM or Husky for the past several years. That said, I personally wouldn’t rule either Honda or Yamaha out, especially if I had a chance to ride one and fell in love with it. The other bikes are cheaper and competitive with the KTM’s. Better? Some people prefer the handling of the others, so, to them, it’s better. Personally, I’ve owned 4 KTM/Husky’s, 2 Yamaha’s, and 1 Kawasaki. Ktm Good resale? Nope. I could not sell my troublesome 22 tpi bike with just 20 hours on it and absolutely no signs of use views for $7500. The resale on KTM branded bikes is horrible, this is fact. You go to any big dealer and you see rows of these made with China parked KTM bikes available for purchase, and only a few quality Japanese bikes, most of the japan bikes have sold tags on them. Hardly any hardly quality Japanese machines available in comparison. KTM has fallen to the quality level of CFmoto. When you change your design regularly, you don't have a proven design. The KTM bikes look ragged out after their 1st use, the Chinese fuel pump needs upgrading immediately after purchase if you want reliability. All KTM bikes should come with a taco moto coupon book.

      Any non tpi ktm stroke from 2017- 2019 is worth it's weight in gold at least that's how they're priced around me and they generally are gone in a day or two. I have a 2018 husqvarna TX 300 with 253 hrs and it has held up better than any of the Japanese bikes I've owned in the last 30 years.
