With the "go fund me" money plus all the other donations (money, tools, devices etc.), Halfass kustoms received over 100.000 CAD already. Therefore a decent new shop can be built for sure. Of course it's very sad to have lost so much memorabilia. But maybe his new shop will be even better than the old one ever was.
He takes pride in his work. The owner takes pride in being a Scrooge - which is unfair to the comic character, given that he always invested properly where business sense told him money would spring a well of opportunity.

31:21 i've had this issue in the past, and a quick and dirty solution to get a good solid thing to work against is to put a chain around the tire, not around the axle, but the tire itself (running over the chain) and then you have top and bottom grab points to pull against to tweak stuff back into shape. The weight of the truck will keep it from moving. This works particularly good for bent stuff in the middle of the truck.

Just a couple observations, I was of the understanding that you don't solder wires on vehicles especially big trucks because of the vibration it can crack and break, also just because it holds 5000 gallons doesn't mean you have to put that much in it just load it to the weight the truck can handle. And that's enough straightening on the bumper it will probably get bent again.
ever module, computer and switch has solder in it....if that was the case, manufacturers wouldnt solder their splice joints when being built but they certainly do. i have never had to repair a break from a splice being soldered. everything about trucking is "payload for profit" there are not going to load it lighter if the truck can carry it. just not how trucking works.

You’re allowed 34k on the tandems but if you have the 3rd axle within 9ft of the tandems than each axle only gross 13k so on that truck you can do 12ksteer 13k, 13k,13k, total 51k gvwr
That’s a shame the owner is so impatient and the person driving it is just a steering wheel attendant and not a real driver who looks after his equipment he operates
U can just go to 255/70’s on the lift axle to get lil more ground clearance and easily can handle the 17k lbs with 4 tires.. I’m sure u know all this but
yes sir. i am fighting the travel distance of the lift axle. shorter tires mean it has to travel farther to touch the road. i cant spare that if i can avoid it.

jc i wonder how many thousands hes spent buying the bad work then the new frame on a old rig . imo he spent more than if he found a decent used truck in running condition . i like older trucks but sonetime the cost benefit dont make sense and tankers are dangerous at best deadly if hazmat is carried
@j.c.smithprojects1769 I found a gem 6wheeler heavy spec dump with like zero rust they're out there just gotta be patient My next pickup and dump is 100percent coming from down south Alot of guys take over the road trucks and box trucks and make them dumps because all the trucks are junk around here
think what you like. i said i would see it through and that is exactly what i am going to do. the only thing that matters is who i am and how i conduct myself. now, if he asked to do this again it will be a completely different agreement than it was with this truck.
I know the previous owner of the truck, and the headlights were mounted up that high because this truck plowed snow before the current owner bought it. They had to either move the headlights, or add snowplow lights. So they chose to move them. It looks silly, but served the purpose at the time.
Agree on the hideous Part, and you may be right on the illegal part. But, the previous owner plowed snow with it and the plow blocked the factory headlights so they were relocated. Should be moved back, but don't tell the current owner that or my dad will probably be relocating them and rewiring them lol

What type of soldering iron were you using?
milwaukee m12. works very well.
You’re allowed 34k on the tandems but if you have the 3rd axle within 9ft of the tandems than each axle only gross 13k so on that truck you can do 12ksteer 13k, 13k,13k, total 51k gvwr
what state is that from?
It’s like that here in Michigan. I know… it’s stupid
That’s a shame the owner is so impatient and the person driving it is just a steering wheel attendant and not a real driver who looks after his equipment he operates
U can just go to 255/70’s on the lift axle to get lil more ground clearance and easily can handle the 17k lbs with 4 tires.. I’m sure u know all this but
yes sir. i am fighting the travel distance of the lift axle. shorter tires mean it has to travel farther to touch the road. i cant spare that if i can avoid it.
if ya wanna bend somethin got to use somethin bigger n tougher than what is bent aka JC smith super craftsman an thank you for helpin brent (halfasscustoms)
Wassup
How has this "company" passed a D.O.T. inspection with this or any truck he owns.
jc i wonder how many thousands hes spent buying the bad work then the new frame on a old rig . imo he spent more than if he found a decent used truck in running condition . i like older trucks but sonetime the cost benefit dont make sense
and tankers are dangerous at best deadly if hazmat is carried
he couldnt buy it set up this way for what he has in it. it wouldnt be cost effective if he had to take it to a shop to have all the work done.
Owner should of started with a cleaner truck looks crusty under the hood lol, big ass truck overall thats a huge water tank
around here, this truck is clean and well worth the work to keep it going.
@j.c.smithprojects1769 I found a gem 6wheeler heavy spec dump with like zero rust they're out there just gotta be patient
My next pickup and dump is 100percent coming from down south
Alot of guys take over the road trucks and box trucks and make them dumps because all the trucks are junk around here
Not gonna tell ya what to do but I'd never work on that truck .
Wouldn’t it been easier to reroute the exhaust from the engine?
not sure what you mean
"...Justgonna do what I gotta to get it done..." Sorry but I think this is the albatross around your neck. Your 'friend' is using you.
think what you like. i said i would see it through and that is exactly what i am going to do. the only thing that matters is who i am and how i conduct myself. now, if he asked to do this again it will be a completely different agreement than it was with this truck.
Sounds like your customer needs to be fired. He sounds the worst.
Why in the hell did he do that with the headlights? I bet he thought he was being pretty creative.
I know the previous owner of the truck, and the headlights were mounted up that high because this truck plowed snow before the current owner bought it. They had to either move the headlights, or add snowplow lights. So they chose to move them. It looks silly, but served the purpose at the time.
@@SmittysSpareTimeProjects ohh ok, I get it..but I do absolutely hate it.😂
Those headlight have to be illegal being that high up. Also they look hideous
Agree on the hideous Part, and you may be right on the illegal part. But, the previous owner plowed snow with it and the plow blocked the factory headlights so they were relocated. Should be moved back, but don't tell the current owner that or my dad will probably be relocating them and rewiring them lol
factory holes are still in the hood just have filler in them...
