I can't help but notice that just a month ago this would be full blown OCD characteristics. But this is now normal , smart, and very responsible. What a time to be alive.
PikamonMaster i’m from a previous socialist country and during socialism everyone was taken care of, everyone had a job and a place to live, when you didn’t work because of laziness you went to jail not receiving welfare cheques like now in capitalism people didn’t envy each other because the gap between rich and poor was smaller than now during capitalism, and because there were fewer variety of clothes and furniture so everyone’s home looked pretty much the same and people were more eager to help each other, unlike now during capitalism
@@FruityHachi I'm not saying socialism is bad. Capitalism and socialism each have their own pros and cons, but Americans are extremely anti-socialism even though our own government practices it willfully when a corporation or big-wig needs a bailout. It's disgusting. Late capitalism is what we're seeing now in the United States and that's not good at all for anyone but the rich.
I live in the city I got homeless people outside you got to be living in the suburbs to do this. Look you are going to get this eventualy I was kind of sick 2 weeks ago I think I had it.
I keep seeing people joking about it but in 10 years there's probably gonna be commercials on tv saying like, "Have you or a loved one been exposed to hand sanitizer, Lysol spray, or any of these household cleaners during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic and gotten cancer? Then you might be entitled to financial compensation!".
Lawyers do destroy everything. Its a big reason business willingly close. If somebody can prove thats where they got the virus its a lawyers wet dream.
If its not corona, something else will kill ya. This sedentary lifestyle will bring out the diabetes and heart disease pandemic everyone seemed to forget. Even if you have no history of diabetes in your family, when you marry someone with a family history of diabetes, every generation after you has a great chance of getting it. Hence, the "spread ". At some point, everyone will most likely get it.
Going to the grocery store is like playing laser tag. The shoppers just walk into my personal space, I dive into an empty aisle in order to keep 6’ of physical distance. Constantly diving into empty aisles is exhausting. People are not listening, they’re not paying attention to when they walk into someone’s space. I could not wait to get out of the store, I felt like I was putting myself and my family in harms way.
@@jayes460 Viruses are considered non-living particles that cannot replicate by themselves - they invade cells and convert them into virus-making factories. byeEYB Hi 👋 you don’t need gloves as long as you’re washing your hands whenever you touch something from outside the house that you’ve touched, and / or brought into your home. And of course never touching your face
byeEYB Usually nurses and doctors will sanitize their hands-Before ever putting on gloves. One day I was at the hospital with my Mom and I was watching all the nurses and they would put on hand sanitizer and then put on their gloves...I was like thinking 🤔 why are they putting on hand sanitizer before putting the gloves on so I ask the nurses why and they said because something could be on their hands before putting gloves on. Hence why washing hands and then gloves ~ as for us washing hands always will help us greatly to protect us from getting anything like the coronavirus.
Sally also sold out...only reason I even still have some is because we have a bedwetter in the household so we always buy Clorox like 6 gallons at a time whenever we find it on sale, since we go through the stuff fast. ...have been to many stores since all this started and haven’t seen any kind of bleach ANYWHERE. Luckily we also stocked up on concentrated Odoban late last year...so guess we’ll have a backup disinfectant once the bleach runs out...

I had even taken my kids out of school three weeks ago ... we got March break and then that’s when I decided I didn’t want the kids go back because of all the travellers that go away for March break . So I kept my kids home that week , and then the next week they closed down the school

That was debunked. Hot or warm water does not deactivate the ingredients in bleach. You cannot STORE bleach in hot temperatures, as that will deactivate the product.

He's cross contaminating constantly by touching the "dirty" packing then touching the "clean" packaging. i.e. opening the box of cereal then touching the bag of cereal inside. Touching the bread package to remove the bread and transfer it to a new bag.
At one point I thought he wasn't going to wash his hands. Then there was the part he wiped the packaged then wiped his hand with the same cloth... And then he didn't advise that you should change the cloth after...how many packages....oh my.
K. P. Thomas very very true! I’m still finding glitter from four months ago doing Christmas crafts:) lol I appreciate his reference though, because it makes the point of how easy virus can spread (glitter) and how difficult it is to get it ALL. That’s how I interpreted it.
Show this video to any STATE BOARD EXAMINER to find out for yourself how he’d fail! He shows how to spread virus. And......he doesn’t even shown proper method to kill virus. Doctors don’t do the grunt work in their offices. This is perfect proof. He’s ignorant of basic technique and has clearly increases peoples chances of catching any and all viruses./colds.
Bothered me too. Going by his methodology-and also taking into consideration that plastic can hold the virus at least 72hrs-the first step he should have shown was to disinfect the plastic bags prior to handling the groceries within. At least wipe the entire handle and surrounding surface area as that will prevent unnecessary cross-contamination between bag and contents. This applies because the virus is yet only transmitted via droplets and thankfully not via aerosol; if the latter, then this video would require an update down the road. Also, he showed a good technique with the bread bag where he ripped the plastic midway down the wrap. It would have been great if he verbalized why that was important-because heuristically, people are likely to have touched the normal packaging opening (area above the tie) during stocking and surveying. I think these types of videos would serve s much more useful purpose if they explained the mindset component a bit more thoroughly and remained consistent with the logical framework.
I noticed that as well....no way to make sure everything is sanitized.....I'm doing my best but I believe its impossible.....my hands look like brillo pads...rough and burning from washing and washing and worrying that I'll touch something that has covid 19 on it....lord will this ever end!
sassy me I made a healing balm for hands, to rub on before sleep. I use it 3x a day. If you want to cover the postage, I can send you some. No Covid in my house, just wait 3 days to open the package if you want extra peace of mind. Just email me at this username at gmail dot com.
I just posted that too. I've always been a clean freak in the kitchen and argued with the people I live with and now that it's a matter of life or death and they still don't care I just wish I could go live alone in a mountain top.
Same. My roommate refuses to quarantine and says they are trying to get it on purpose so they can gain an immunity asap. What about me, and everyone else. Selfish.
Yeah the middle and the upper middle class is the group with the lowest infection rates. They are also more likely to have a garage or a private stairwell to isolate their groceries.
Omg same here everybody in my family especially my mom always thought that I was so extra. I never touch anything without some kind of protection even if I cleaned it myself. Now I'm thinking I wasn't too extra huh?!
Lol! This guy is touching the box and bag... then touch the inside bag and place it on the bench...I'm driving my partner nuts! He's not very neat so we are clashing like no tomorrow. I spray diluted bleach on benches, walls, floor.. he just follows and touch everywhere... coughing or sneezing without covering his mouth... I want to go to the moon.... under my rock hahaha!
I spray down my grocery bags at the door and let them sit for about 5 mins. then repeat. Like the doctor I wash everything down but under the faucet...a bag of chips goes under the water and washed down with soap disinfectant (a little goes a long way)...anything in an air sealed container. I pretty much do what the doctor has instructed. I'll even spray cereal boxes (the cereals are in air-tight containers. For grocery shopping use the store's plastic bags, place your hand inside to select your produce, then turn the bag down over your selected items. Been doing this way before this virus hoping it would catch on because I didn't like other people touching my food (even back then) - but nobody did. Perhaps they are now. Everyone Take Care. It may be a nuisance but it may actually slow down the spread of the regular flu, which kills thousands of people every year.
The point is really to limit the area that comes into contact with the bags or groceries. You can leave them in any spot where there is little traffic. Considering most people aren't going out a lot, leaving them in the entrance is probably safe enough. What you want is to avoid transferring things, touching them, having them come into contact with your countertops, putting your hands on the fridge handle, etc. You don't want to spread it to inanimate surfaces you would otherwise considering clean, because you risk touching that without taking any precautions. Otherwise you can sanitize everything as shown, just be mindful of where you put your hands and make sure to disinfect any surface that came into contact with the bags or the food.
@ThatOneGirl Please, ALWAYS wash your vegetables and fruit before eating them, even without a looming pandemic; however, *NEVER* wash your fruits and vegetables with soap. NEVER, EVER, EVER wash fruits and vegetables with soap--that is not what soap is for! Cold water, cut with vinegar if desired. *SOAP IS NOT EDIBLE* PLEASE!!!
I put my groceries in the washing machine and then put it in the dryer. Everything spills or is cut up into pieces but I get a clean pitcher and scoop it up, then throw it in the blender for a smoothie. My strawberry mango smoothie does taste a little like chicken blood, but at least it's clean and fresh.
His hands are potentially infected as soon as he touches the outside of any container (like the cereal box) so as soon as he touches the bag within, isn't it potentially a carrier?
Yes. He should sanitize his hands right before grabbing the bag. I have been struggling with knowing all the possible ways that the virus can enter the home. Its a non stop battle with an invisible enemy
"Leave it outside" --- for someone from a big city who does not know ANYONE who doesn't live in an apartment, this was surprising. I AIN'T GOT NO OUTSIDE.
Also the assumption that you have enough space in your place to store 2 weeks worth of groceries, and the transportation to be able to bring that much stuff home at once. Like, nah fam, and got space for that. I barely have a dining table.
Hayley Smith My thought exactly! As soon as my package arrives I have no choice but to bring it in. I can’t even take it out of the box and leave the box or get fined for littering. At some point I will just limit the contact and wash my hands. I also leave the packages sitting for a couple of days before opening them.
I leave the groceries in my car for 3 days (and now I barely use my car), except those items that go into the fridge. They come with me and I proceed to clean them as shown in the video the best I can. If 'outside' is not an option, you proceed to clean them like shown in the video.
D P You don’t need to. This is crazy behavior and there is no proof Covid tests actually diagnose Covid and not just members of the Corona Family. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. The nut jobs here won’t let you question these things though. Take care.
D P Yeah, this level of care is insane. I live in an apartment and can’t leave my packages or groceries outside. At some point we have to take the highest degree of care that we can and keep it moving.
@Billy Lunger the man is correct. The containers are not able to absorb a liquid. You spray with a dilute solution, leave it 5 minutes, and that will stop the virus ability to behave the way it does. When I was younger I would be also highly unwilling to do any of this, but with 65 years under my belt, and a retired nurse as a mum, and the tragedy unfolding in front of us, it is now clear that survivors will be those who are able to do this, accept their fear ( I am scared, this not normal) and do it whether you want to or not. If I have saved a persons life because they were able to alter their habit and belief, ....I hope.
@@LadyLuck8_4 this is a gp, who will have done years of medical training, who understands how coronaviruses function and who explains, this one is less known. It is dangerous for evidence in front of you. This advice is ideal. Any health worker will agree. The reason this virus has spread all over the world is entirely due to humans' poor ability to respond quickly and intelligently. We dont like new. We dont like change. I get that. You are facing something you cannot control. It is within your control to choose to use common sense handed out in these videos. The choice is stark. Insane? It is not. The clinical testing of this particular virus was out on march 17, and lists what surfaces it can survive on for how long. I cant put link here, please google it. It also sheds. You can carry it on your clothing, it may arrive on packaging, on the mail that arrives in your door. You are worth me bothering to write this message to you.
So you stopped watching after the cereal box? The second thing he touched? And yeah, he took the bag out of the packaging, with the tips of two fingers. Where else did he cross contaminate?
@@ZombiPhill1 I didn't say that I stopped watching, I said that *he lost me* meaning he lost my interest. He massively cross contaminated when he picked the shopping bag up *off the floor* and then put it right down onto the clean side of the table. That in itself was a massive mistake. The bottom of that bag could have been on many floors before bringing it into the house. Even taking the cereal from the package with the tips of his fingers after touching the outside box all over with his hands, would continue to potentially contaminate *anything* else that he touches with those fingers. Need I go on.
He lost your interest about 3 minutes in and you still watched all of it? Gotcha. And he picked the bag up off of his floor in his house that had probably been there for a while. And he touched the inner bag with two fingers, threw the box away and then sanitized afterwards, so...yeah, go on.
@@ZombiPhill1Did you not hear, that this guy had to put an apology onto yt. regarding this video, because he told people to *Wash oranges, In soap and water* for 20 seconds. I am willing to do whatever it takes to stay safe during this miserable pandemic and listen to any advice that will help. However, people want *good* advise, not misleading advice.
I have a bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol and I spray down all the packaging. Sprayed the top of a coke can before drinking it. I was my fruit, but just with water (some fruit can't really be washed with soap) and then put it under a UV lamp for 30 secs.
I knew other people might have thought I was crazy but I did it anyway. Grew-up with a mother who was aware of cross contamination...just short of being OCD. Been wiping down bananas for ever! Maybe these extra steps will also reduce the number of people getting the regular flu.
I would just leave my pantry stuff just inside my door for 3 days. I started wearing latex gloves under cotton gloves. As I walk into the store and grab a cart I soak/wet the cotton gloves top and bottom with bleach solution that I bring with me. That way when I touch something I know the bleach is killing the virus that is possibly on plastic and steel surfaces (which lasts 2-3 days). Before touching fruits and vegetables I put the plastic produce bag over my hand if I have to test for ripeness (I've always done this). Then just invert the bag over the fruit and tie it up. It's so disgusting watching people touch them with their bare hands! When I get home I change my cotton gloves and re-soak them with bleach and then clean my fridge items. It's a lot easier to disinfect items with cotton gloves on vs. a clorox wipe. Or you can bring them outside and spray them down with bleach solution and let them air dry. This saves on the clorox wipes and you can reuse the latex gloves because they are cleaned with bleach and then just wash the cotton gloves. I would NOT trust any fast food restaurant worker to wash their hands while preparing food. They may wear gloves but I've seen workers dump trash into the dumpster and go back to making food without changing the gloves. Places are still open for drive through and pick up but what if one of the staff is infected?
Gloves are to protect them and not us...unfortunately. I've seen cooks handle raw chicken with gloves on and then assemble the sandwich with the same gloves
Vinegar disinfects. Clorox, any generic chlorine bleach. I don't know if these can be obtained in your store. I had a good enough supply before the craziness started.
He touched the inner bag of cereal with his "dirty" hands. Fail, sorry but it's soo hard to get it right. Leaving the shopping for 3 days seems like the best option to me
Beardshire I’m washing all my groceries that with soap Clorox and water , getting rid of any cardboard and plastic bags ...I don’t have enough sanitizing wipe , I’m running out , so soap and Clorox are the best way right now , and running water ...
I believe that's on a per visit basis. How could they possibly keep track of all the customers' daily visits? They would have to have them check in such as with their smartphones, membership card, chip implant, etc. Aside from that, you could always go to multiple stores. So, there ARE options.
@Jason Yang I understand that policy because I'm right now viewing another clip of a guy who visited a Home Depot today & he's showing the customers going inside only a few at a time. Anyway, good luck with your shopping! 👍
Just get one of each brand of the same thing? Or a range of items - different meats, veges and staple foods. Otherwise it doesn't make sense that shoppers are getting less and have to go out to the store more often. In New Zealand we have items limited to 2 but I can buy more than I need, I just limit to what I can carry home by foot.
Dr. VanWingen your PSA was excellent. As a retired IM Triage, RN, BSN I do have 2 questions: 1) Will shaking items out of their containers onto the 'clean side' dislodge the virus onto the clean surface & 2) Will laundering cloth grocery bags in HOT WATER kill COVID-19? Thank you for doing this PSA.
1. Very unlikely, if not impossible. The particles need to travel on or in something, like a water droplet, or maybe dust. Besides, the amount of virus particles you're exposed to matters a great deal. Being exposed to one or two might not result in infection. 2. Any kind of detergent, including regular bar soap, will neutralise the virus. Hot water might speed this up, but the temperature doesn't really matter.
Dee Dee...I thought the same thing....about shaking the container over the clean side. In the 1918 Flu pandemic , mailmen , delivering mail to rual remote farms spread the virus , handling , coughing on the mail.... leaving more than the mail ...many times a death sentence.
I remember my grandma practicing a lot of that in 70’s and 80’s. With a lot of deer hunters, we have ozone generation systems that we put gear and clothing in to kill bacteria to remove scent, also works on viruses. Your thoughts on utilizing an ozone system in garage or porch to decontaminate stuff well packaged? Also, we have been taking shoes off at door so not to track possible virus we picked up on floor of store. These too can be decontaminated in ozone system. Commercial ozone generators run about $70 and can be rigged up to a plastic tote. Or could be ran in car. Do not run in house or risk lung and throat damage. Ozone will dissipate in a few minutes after turning off and areating. If decontaminating a room, a window needs opened, and all pets and people out of house for two hours while it runs. Doors and windows will need left open until ozone dissipates..
I literally just wash my hands after handling the groceries instead of all of this. Wear gloves if you want to, and don't grab the groceries immediately at the front on the stack. Then again I am in Canada where quarantine and social distancing is a bigger thing than in the states. I do not go out to grocery shop as I am pregnant, but my husband does. They have handwashing stations at the entrances of the stores and employees at the front directing people to wash their hands before entering and before they leave. They also have cart wipes too for added protection
I have a section of my living room that is used as my quarantine section for food and other purchased goods. Unless it's frozen goods, it sits there for at least 4 days before it exits this quarantine zone. I sterilize the frozen good packages instead. This way I don't use up a whole lot of sterilizers.
@@OceanFrontVilla3 Just washing your hands IS enough. Shelf stockers were handling your items before this, you know, and just getting a virus particle on your skin is not how you actually catch the disease. There have been ZERO cases of the virus being transmitted through food.

Minor goofs/nits: Instead of wiping items & produce with lysol (yuck), I prefer to lightly mist anything of immediate concern with isopropyl 99% (60% is the min BTW). Plant misters are cheap and give very efficient coverage** with little waste (whereas soaking a towel before wiping an item wastes both towels and sanitizer). Isopropyl evaporates quickly and leaves no residue, and it also doubles as the main active ingredient in homemade hand sanitizer. 3:27 He touches the contaminated box, then fails to wipe his hand with the san-wipe before grabbing the bag and placing it in the safe area. ---------- ** Isopropyl also has low surface tension, so unlike misting with water (whose drops bead up due to higher surface tension), Isopropyl droplets spread out, and the evaporate rapidly. The only real drawback are the fumes.
One thing I do is keep a disinfecting wipe draped over the handle of the shopping cart the whole time I shop. Therefore every time I touch something and my hands go back to the handle and the wipe I sanitize my hands every time.
I have been doing the same thing. I bring my own small canister of wipes from home in case I need more while shopping. I bring tongs to pick up produce.

Well, each time it’s a roll of the dice. Most of the time, you’d probably be fine not doing it. Maybe you can go through the whole pandemic that way and be fine. However, you can also get unlucky. Most of the time if you drive w/o a seat belt, you won’t die as a result - but most of us wear seat belts because you don’t know when you need to do it.
at minute 3:35, you touch the inner cereal bag without clean your hand first with disinfectant. You also put the bag on the clean side, after you get that from the floor before you spray it throughly. The “cure” is already known by many holistic MD’s, ND’s, chiropractors, and some MDs. Search for Dr. Brownstein’s RUclips videos. @@TronEST99 that's not necessarily the case, just because you are sanitary (your hands) doesn't mean the product itself is sanitized. also do NOT wash your fruits & vegetables in soap water! the fruits, vegetables will absorb the soap, we will get stomach pain instead...just run them under water, that's enough! this doctor with white beard seems fishy, don't trust random videos online, most fake news~ Dr.Mike youtube channel at 0:53 min
Most people are ignorant, people don't want to hear the truth, because they don't want their illusions destroyed, rather believing lies that are spread online, a simple "this doctor" says this and that, and these ignorant people will naively believe, blindly following instructions, like brainless zombies, it's so easy to tell people lies, than the truth. There is no point of arguing with them. Ignorant people think that they are brilliant. Most people don't know how to wear mask correctly, how to wash hands properly, etc. like this so called "doctor" trying to teach us stuffs, but just bs us with lies, just because he is maybe a doctor, that doesn't mean he is doing his job correctly, very dangerous, don't even want to imagine how, if he does surgeries, with his style of fake sanitizing, he doesn't even wear gloves or mask, and he puts the dirty bags next to clean food, the virus also can spread into the air, while moving the products, especially how he opens the bread bag, really clumsy. Don't believe one word he says. Very busy teaching us BS.
Man im getting my groceries, they coming right inside, and washing my hands after because this doing too much leaving groceries somewhere to be stolen.
Although this is extremely helpful, I think there is still some cross contamination from handling the dirty items and then touching the inside of the box (the cereal box for example) with those same unwashed/unsanitized hands; opening boxes and just dumping the content on the clean side would work perfectly. Most people don't even take these very important precautions so thank you so much for sharing.
Guys, this isn't being an OCD. Trust me, I'm tired of doing this. But just thinking about what could happen motivates me to continue following safe health procedures. I don't want my parents and boyfriend getting sick. I love them too much to see them in a hospital. I'm not willing to be reckless over something so important at this time.
It's because the virus can survive in a person for as long as they can't fight it off. So imagine an infected person constantly touching everything on the ships. That's the reason why the ships stay positive for the virus so long. Someone has to be recontaminating the ship.
I can see leaving it in the garage or back yard. I don't see it as unnecessary. I do work in a grocery store. People touch everything. Even I have. As a worker, we walk down the aisle facing the product. Touching everything. So yes, wiping down your product is good advice. Right now we are constantly washing our hands and sanitizing everything, but, if someone touched it after us, or coughed its there.
Except for berries which should be rinsed in a dilute vinegar solution when you get them home. That has nothing to do with coronavirus, it just keeps them from getting moldy as fast.
I just wanted to say Thank you! We had been thinking about this and were beginning to clean the groceries before we saw this video! On the flip, I've always washed my fruits and veggies with soap and water even before this virus. For those out there bashing and criticizing you or anyone for washing with soap and water, peace be with you. No one is making or telling anyone to wash their veggies, and fruit, with soap and water. I know it's something I've always done; just like when you wash your hands with soap and water. You make sure that you've completely washed all of the soap off, same goes for the food. Everyone is stressing out because of the unkown. Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. Romans 12.12 Peace be with you and keep up the good work! Thank you for your sacrifices and selflessness and pursuing your passion to help others!!
Ironic I stumbled across this. I have literally been using this method for the last 2 wks. Glad to know someone else confirmed the importance of my actions. Thnx Doc. 😉❤️

@Soon Forgot Our country already practices socialism when it's convenient for the 1% and big corporations.
Absolutely xx 😉
PikamonMaster i’m from a previous socialist country and during socialism everyone was taken care of, everyone had a job and a place to live, when you didn’t work because of laziness you went to jail not receiving welfare cheques like now in capitalism
people didn’t envy each other because the gap between rich and poor was smaller than now during capitalism, and because there were fewer variety of clothes and furniture so everyone’s home looked pretty much the same
and people were more eager to help each other, unlike now during capitalism
@@FruityHachi I'm not saying socialism is bad. Capitalism and socialism each have their own pros and cons, but Americans are extremely anti-socialism even though our own government practices it willfully when a corporation or big-wig needs a bailout. It's disgusting.
Late capitalism is what we're seeing now in the United States and that's not good at all for anyone but the rich.

If its not corona, something else will kill ya. This sedentary lifestyle will bring out the diabetes and heart disease pandemic everyone seemed to forget.

No gloves
byeEYB Hi 👋 you don’t need gloves as long as you’re washing your hands whenever you touch something from outside the house that you’ve touched, and / or brought into your home.

You can try any standard all-purpose cleaner; they're easier to find and work just as well as disinfectant specifically.
Bleach would work.
You can make your own. It's 5% sodyum hypochlorite to 95% water into a spray bottle.

Hot water deactivates bleach, only use it with cold water.
bleach cannot be hot , it releases toxic chemical
That was debunked. Hot or warm water does not deactivate the ingredients in bleach. You cannot STORE bleach in hot temperatures, as that will deactivate the product.

K. P. Thomas very very true! I’m still finding glitter from four months ago doing Christmas crafts:) lol I appreciate his reference though, because it makes the point of how easy virus can spread (glitter) and how difficult it is to get it ALL. That’s how I interpreted it.

So the Cereal box = dirty and the bag = clean.... but he opened the dirty box with the same hands that he he took the clean bag out with ...
He should have had gloves on.
I thought he wiped down the cereal box before he opened it didn't he?

How do you buy two weeks worth when everything at the store is limited to one per person?
USA. Yupp.
Great point!
But you touched the cereal bag with your hand that touch the box,
I never ever have sat my grocery bags on any table or counter in my house. I place the bags on my floor.
Then u must immediately disinfect ur floor after ua done with ur groceries.. table seems a better option.
The bags are clean, what’s inside them isn’t. I don’t see your point
You can keep a garbage bag on the floor keep groceries on the bag and then after everything is done u can throw d bag away
I put it on the sink

Dr. VanWingen your PSA was excellent.
As a retired IM Triage, RN, BSN I do have 2 questions:
1) Will shaking items out of their containers onto the 'clean side' dislodge the virus onto the clean surface &
2) Will laundering cloth grocery bags in HOT WATER kill COVID-19?

It's not enough, shelf stockers handle items, you don't know what's been touched, especially fruits and vegetables.
Are you joking? None of that pampering in this USA. If you aint got you aint gettin.
I have a section of my living room that is used as my quarantine section for food and other purchased goods. Unless it's frozen goods, it sits there for at least 4 days before it exits this quarantine zone. I sterilize the frozen good packages instead. This way I don't use up a whole lot of sterilizers.

Minor goofs/nits:
Instead of wiping items & produce with lysol (yuck), I prefer to lightly mist anything of immediate concern with isopropyl 99% (60% is the min BTW).

** Isopropyl also has low surface tension, so unlike misting with water (whose drops bead up due to higher surface tension), Isopropyl droplets spread out, and the evaporate rapidly. The only real drawback are the fumes.
He could san wipe the bag..

One thing I do is keep a disinfecting wipe draped over the handle of the shopping cart the whole time I shop. Therefore every time I touch something and my hands go back to the handle and the wipe I sanitize my hands every time.
Good idea, but if possible, I would say to wear disposable gloves as well.
