thank you so much! I got this machine when I was 11. I used it a few times and totally forgot how to use it after a few years. I'm 27 now and I have a little girl who I want to see clothes for, this has been so simple!❤
It’s suggested that the machine be turned off when threading it and the gentleman missed the wire just above where the needle is mounted. It’s also worth mentioning that the presser foot should be in the up position to allow the thread to get into the thread tension discs. The foot is up but I don’t recall it being mentioned.
Thank you for this video, it has set our nerves at ease that we are not threading incorrectly. Everything we do is exactly as you do in the video. I do have a question.. any suggestions on why the needle doesn't go down the whole way and back up when pulling up the bobbin thread. We are puzzled. Our machine was serviced about 2 months ago and has just sat till now. My machine is exactly like yours..any suggestions?
I'm glad the video was helpful for you. Sorry I don't know why your needle won't go down all the way when pulling up the bobbin thread. I would take it back to the place where you got it serviced, for them to look at.
thankyou for information. I wasn't actually able to watch most, though, because the camera was jerking all over. I suffer from vertigo and it was setting it off
Do you happen to know where the oil points are for this machine? I know oil drys out eventually and I think my family members machine needs oiling but the manual doesn't say where, and I can't find any information about it.
Zoey Peterson Hey Zoey, sorry I don't know where the oil points are. I never oiled the machine. You could try googling it and/or see if you can download the original manual from Singer.
Vertigo provided with what would have been a stellar, succinct how-to video. The swirling, erratic juggling of the camera causes you to look away thereby missing some of the needed information.
When you're doing the last step of turning the wheel toward you so the needle goes down and then back up again, HOLD ONTO the needle thread tail (the tail of thread that's coming out of the needle eye) and kind of pull on that tail to get the bobbin thread to come up from the hole.
I know, sorry about that! This video was initially only intended for a friend who bought this machine from me, to show them how to thread it. But it ended up helping SO many people!
Great job of explaining but wish your camera person would stop bouncing all around and actually show the area you're working instead of lowering the camera to far down, can"t see what you're doing.
I'm sorry it doesn't meet your definition of artfulness. Artistic expression comes in many forms and for some people that includes creating garments, costumes, quilts....the list goes on and on. I initially made this video to show a young person how to thread this sewing machine so she could learn how to sew and design clothes. Since then the video has been viewed over 15,000 times, so it must be "artful" to someone...

That's awesome Marcia, I'm glad I could help! Have fun with your project!

Thank you so much for this post-haven’t used my machine in a bit!! 7:22
Thank you!!! I was getting so frustrated, but you helped me so much!!! :)
This would be an excellent video except for the camera shake. Great info and dialog, but hard to view whats happening with the camera bouncing around.
I have this machine or at least a very simular one, don't use it much and this was a great help.
very helpful except when you thread the bobbin you said make sure thread faces to the left or clockwise I believe you mean counter clockwise.
LOL, you're right! I had originally made the video for the 13 year old girl who I gave the machine to, so she'd know how to thread it. :-)
i was given this machine and did not have the manual your video was a great help thank you.

What model is your machine?
Very good video
I can’t get my bobbin thread to come up....tried everything

Very shaky video. And it was blurry when showing the bobbin install so I still don't know what was done to the thread during that step :/
Thank you
good video informational thank you
thankyou
Informative but the camera moved too much, now I'm dizzy
I know, sorry about that! This video was initially only intended for a friend who bought this machine from me, to show them how to thread it. But it ended up helping SO many people!
You need a new cameraman!!!! This would be more helpful if I could actually see what is going on.
The camra wiggles are giving me rabies but good video thanks for the help

Dizzy video
video moves to much made me sea sick
thank you i just found my Machine at a YARD sale for 30.00
Sorry Paula! That's what I get for trying to hold the camera myself and try to thread the machine. Score on your yard sale find!!
