    merry clayton is an unmatched vocalist... never imagined i'd hear both her and carole on the same recording, they sound like sweet sweet sisters, their voices together the sound is just incredible. i could lose my mind!

    The Great David T. Walker on guitar solo. You've heard him on alot of classics with the Jackson 5 and Marvin Gaye and others.

    It's so good to see this again. I remember when this footage was shown on TV in the UK in the 70s (probably on The Old Grey Whistle Test) I have never forgotten it.Thanks for sharing

    A very soulful take on the classic... of course, Maxine Brown captured a certain pathos that makes her version the one that elicits the deepest devotion... The Shirelles (also on Scepter/Wand label as Maxine Brown at that time...) did an extraordinary version with dual vocal leads... Carole King could write such profoundly spectacular songs... in the hands and voices of the right artist, they have become truly sublime and transcendent...
