I'm confused as I don't see the fireman on the fire boat wearing breathing apparatus, and why is the fire boat fighting the fire from the down wind side when he could protect his grew by being on the port side out of the wind. Those firemen lost a few years of life breathing those fumes.
Glad that there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, with there being a locked gate to the marine. I would imagine that someone left their boat and didn't make sure that everything was off. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.
The gate is an electric gate with a Knox switch. There is also a Knox box by the front door. I’m not sure why the police department was not able to open it. I reached out to them to see if it is not functioning but have not heard back from them. We do not have access to the key to operate it, however the fire inspector checks it annually.
Great drone footage and hard work by the firefighters. My only comments (and this is not knowing the construction of the dock) were why not draft some water instead of a long lay that delayed the effort? Granted, the boat was done before they arrived, but it may matter some day. My other comment is no PPE, given the plastic and toxins in that smoke? Thanks again to everyone for their hard work.
A cellar or Bresnan nozzle might have been an interesting choice from the fireboat’s angle, since the front hatch had already melted for easy access. They are pricey so I realize there may not be enough need for one.
@@rustynail6819 you can pre-plan, you can retrospective, or “wing-it” and see what happens. I did the job a long time, and I saw something in the video I thought might put another tool in the toolbox to be used. No malice, no criticism. Thank you to all who answer the call, and Everbody Goes Home.
Actually the people who were on the boat said that it was an electrical issue with their Christmas lights. I got the impression they live on the boat as she stated that they are now in a hotel
Possibly started via electrical issues... Some of these owners have got these watercraft so packed with electric convenience add-ons and electronic gizmos after about a few years, the safety breakers and such had all been bypassed six months into new ownership!
I am not sure how long the supply lay is but why not just pull a draft. Water is not that far away and the lift is minimal. There are enough units on scene to get more hard suction.
Idea for next drill night...how to establish a water supply in a timely manner. Plenty of engines there with no water supply. Why didn't one of those engines lay in from a hydrant instead of just parking parade style?
A couple things water supply should be first and why use a hydrant when you have an instant water source learn drafting ops, The other things would be no bunker gear used by boat crew and why not use an arieal truck to hit it?
I can help but once again see incompetent firefighters here, the fire is constantly spreading to the side of the boat, they could easily turn it off without leaking it.
My opinion is that every dock should be equipped with a large wheeled dry chemical fire extinguisher because of how hard it is to extinguish boat fires ! But that’s my firefighter position!
I was on this boat! Me, my BF and my puppy are all OK! Xmas lights caused an electrical fire... staying in hotel currently.
Glad to hear you're all safe. So sorry about the boat.
Glad you're ok
They boat crew doesn't have any PPE on. A boat fire is toxic as hell. What were they thinking?
At least the wind is blowing the other way.
no it wasn't for the first several minutes. The fireboat Captain put all his men at risk.@@19irving

Awesome drone footage! Glad to see there were no injuries or further damage at the marina!
Excellent videography, especially the piloting of the drone unit. Yes, concerned about the firefighters on the fire boat w/o PPE on.
Glad you enjoyed it

its odd that the slips on ether side of this boat are empty?

Armchair firefighter, always on scene to give hindsight advice.

Love the drone work. Which model do you have?
Nicely done bro.
Great video
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO THEJFRD REAL HEROES 🙏🇺🇸
Awesome video...🎄🤗🤗
Why would the police boat or whatever it was sit in the smoke like that? Why not sit upwind and do the same thing? PPE? Never heard of her….
Good thing the fire boat had SCBA. Nice drone coverage.
Someone couldn't afford the payments. Nice drone footage man.
1994 boat not sure id say more user error hearing it started maybe with a heater.

Hello Allstate? I seem to be having an overheating situation on my boat..... What do you suggest I do?
Why would they breathe all that smoke in? Why not have some gear on?
Because they weren't well trained.
Yes they absolutely should have SCBA on, no they shouldn't be wearing structural firefighting gear if you know anything about fire boat operations
@@davidbott9401you 100 percent do where structural fire gear on a vessels fire. 100 percent. Clueless
They look like they did not have a clue how to put a boat fire out.

Sometimes I feel like they don’t wanna get it put out too quick. Like they wanna, I don’t know. Maybe it’s just the way I see it.
Thank you!!
Yeah, absolutely just the way you see it, your a civilian, don’t expect you to know at all what they are doing and why
When was this?
today...
Why aren't they continuously spraying water on it?
Water supply issues. It's mentioned in the audio.

I smell an insurance scam
The fact that there were no boats in the slips next to the boat on fire is suspicious.
@@FloridaCatholicGuy not necessarily, this time of year, some boat owners winterize and put their boats in storage for the winter
