The personnel on the fireboats and rescue craft are the most modest people you'll meet, but when the need arises, they rush in while others leave the scene as fast as possible.
I was visiting Seattle several years ago. I was given a personal tour of their new fire boat. It was not in service yet. It was awesome! Then a few days later it was out in the bay running trials when we up in the space needle.
My father was LAFD firefighter in 50s,60s and 70s and he did work on a fireboat he was a enginer. When I was kid I got to go on the fireboat and see the engine room and how all the pumpers it awesome, it was great moments God Bless
Why do people keep calling the tanks that firefighters wear oxygen tanks, that's not what they are! They are just compressed air, if they were pure oxygen they would create a hazard
Well, yeah, because they get access to water constantly. That's why they can put more water on a fire than a firecraft. Now what they need to do is all these fires that are on land they should send fire water trucks, so didn't it have a supply of water? Constantly and the hoses need to be up-to-date. They don't leak. They keep their fire truck so spotless and shiny, but they don't keep there. Hoses and good shape all the fittings. Have you ever seen it on TV? Look at the ground underneath the fire truck. Is it dry or is it wet if it's wet? Then it's leaking
More, just bow thrusters. They showed the bow thruster(at the bow) labeled propeller. That's not how a Voth Schneider operates, with its 360-degree rotational-not stationary- propulsion system.
I wish people would get there act together. They are air packs with compressed air in the tank NOT oxygen same air everybody breaths but is compressed to 4500 PSI. Don t know why everybody thinks there is combustible oxygen in those tanks
Typical fuctus fluff, two minutes on point & two more off point topics as filler. If you are going to keep doing this, at least make destinctive graphic changes between topics.
Reminds me of "single propeller helicopter", "chinook propellers can clash each other", what is the actual price anyway? I heards a chance of swimmers as invasion, then if wrong info, colours looks like egypt or arab anyway? Fireengine supposed to be all red? Ships can install "own flood as water will drop to sea anyway". Unless this is like blackoil on sea and fire(if swimmers exist)? Or if just for fun thing might happen? Why is it written like that? $27m?
The one minute clip on the $27 million dollar Fire-Boat? Maybe we'll see more about this boat in a video for fire-fighting planes and helicopters.
People will bitch about anything
If you want good on point information on high tech fireboats without "filler", search RUclips for videos on the most recent generation of NYFD boats.
What a fantastic documentary about the fire boat. I enjoyed **all 3 minutes and 11 seconds** of it. 🙄🤦♂️
1:42 You meant to say AIR not Oxygen. Air Tanks... They dont carry Oxygen with them, just normal air.
Thank you. I wanted to scream when they said that
@@charlieredleg1582 same here😖

I thought this was about a $27 million dollar fire boat ?
You don't use oxygen masks! Your B.A. sets use air! Oxygen is flamable.
Oxygen isn't flammable by itself, it makes other things ignite, and yes they use regular air because it has oxygen in it.
Love the fact they use a tractor tug lay out. A very well proven design.

“Repurposing the water they are floating on”. Only in America.
What happened to these videos? Love them but please, please, stay on the topic!
Another great video. Thanks.
I'm impressed with the repurposing of the water.
Yeah it works way better than the alternatives, bringing it with them or making it themselves! 🤔
Pr
Not the largest. The Three Forty Three in NYC is the largest.
Seems to be a pretty similar model, same price point.
They don't use oxygen they use air, otherwise they'd blow themselves up with oxygen.
oxygen isn't flammable... hahahahaha. Go get yourself some experience
Oxygen is an "oxidizer." While O2 isn't flammable, it's introduction into a fire creates an explosive increase in the burning process.
Good job bless you
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Actually most modern day large fireboats are designed by robert Allen naval architects in Vancouver BC ,Canada
Stay on subject and give more detail.
Blink, ah oh,
subject changed on you
I was in the North Atlantic for 3 and 1/2 hours in 3 weeks in the hospital in a coma. I'm still here.
@michael. Why you still there?

Really good
Not O2 breathing apparatus but compressed air. SCBA.
Iv seen fireboats used to supply meny engines on land. There just another tool in the fire service.

The Protector seems to be Voth Schneider Propellers
Vigilant is too, VSP 26GII w/ AE45's gearboxes pushed by Cat's. The craftsmanship on those vessels are some of the best in the US.
More, just bow thrusters. They showed the bow thruster(at the bow) labeled propeller. That's not how a Voth Schneider operates, with its 360-degree rotational-not stationary- propulsion system.
@@R.U.1.2. neither vessels have bow thrusters, The hull marks are to designate where the Voith blades are located.
Fire fighters do not use oxygen tanks They are SCBA’s Self Contained Breathing Apparatus The tanks are filled with air under pressure
Awesome videos

The protector is similar to NYC big boat?
once again, they say oxygen tanks...when is any announcer going to get it right?lol
I think you meant built and not invented the fireboat
I want to know how they hook them up to a hydrant. Small boats probably?
The fireboat is a cool boat
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥

These boats got nothing on FDNY Fireboats, Marine 1, 2 and 3
This gear is not "Fireboat specific" Every Commercial craft, ship, Coast Guard Response boat and Tugboat is equipped with it.,
Why? To fight fire?

It oxygen…it’s compressed air…
Meski sudah nonton videonya saya tetep tidak tahu alasannya, karena saya tidak ngerti bahasanya 😭😭

Nope. Still don't know why they spent 27$ million on that fire boat.
Because it was necessary to have the latest and best technology, to save lives and property. Now you know why.
