One quick question, on my extreme p226 me and a friend first noticed that my gun doesnt always lock the slide when the last round has been fired. Is that normal or should i be worried? Also new gun owner and another question i have is about the decocker. If im safely decocking it, should i always aim the gun somewhere i dont have to worry if a round goes off, basically im asking if a decocker is 100% always gonna drop the hammer safely or are they known to have probelms and go off on people decocking it and an unexpected round goes off
I rented a 226R from my range the other day and it was so fun to shoot. I’m used to striker fired pistols but I knew the 226 has a history and reputation as a superb weapon. That single action trigger pull is primo.
Its important to note that not all DA/SA pistols have a firing pin block like this one, when there is no firing pin block the proper way to carry is in half-cock position, not hammer down
This is my Everyday carry and did not know what that button was for. Appreciate that vital information just earned a Sub. I use a Surefire x400 and must say I love this gun and trust it with my life
@@andylololI think you've never handled a firearm in your life, FYI an empty weapon is as harmless as a toy gun, without a bullet (or loaded with blanks) will cause no harm to you or anyone else nearby UNLESS.... I have an arsenal of easy point and shoot Berettas and wanted to up my game. I started thinking about getting a 226 but hesitated because they looked way too complicated to operate. This video just changed my mind. Thanks, Bro! I might even buy 2 now. 1 for each hand! 👊

My fav pistol. This is the best pistol ever made. Only problem I have is that the first shot in single mode tends to be inaccurate, and the trigger is harder to pull. Other than that, this is an elite weapon. As a veteran, I approve.
Thanks for the short sweet and simple to the point video/short. Been looking for someone to explain to me what all the different levers do. I’ve never seen a sig with my own eyes but have always wanted to get one. But felt a little intimidated because I didn’t know what all the levers were for. Oddly enough nobody ever went over all of them. They’d always skip one. 😅😂
Everything you hear about the p320 is either just fanboys of other companies hating, or straight up misinformation. The firing by itself thing was basically fabricated and glock has had a lawsuit over the same thing and as it turns out he sued because he negligently discharged the glock, same thing with the p320
@@delsymdrinker8064I read somewhere that, when you rack the slide on the Sig P320, the striker is not "pre-cocked," but fully cocked. In other words, the gun is carried "cocked and UNlocked." Anybody know if this is true, or just another rumor?
I just recently turned old enough to own handguns. (I’m 22 now, so 2 years is recent to me) and I bought my first gun off of my coworker who is also an employee at a gun store. He told me he would sell me a brand new p226 for $500. Came with the gun itself, 2 extra magazines, and 100 rounds of ammunition. When I was doing my research on the gun I found the MK25 and thought maybe that’s what I was getting. Well I’ll tell ya I was in for a treat. It was just a normal 226, no legion grip or slide, no navy anchor. But a barrel chambered in .40 s&w, and that thing shoots like a dream. I couldn’t be more happy with it and shooting it is a blast, I still wonder how different it handles compared to it’s original 9mm?
@@Gunghis thanks lol, yeah the p226 actually was my first choice, but I looked at the 92fs and p226 side by side decided my first choice would be the beretta, (was actually looking for an m9, but all they had was the 92fs)

I have a question on the P226R markings. I was wondering why the newer models just say: "Sig Sauer P226" on the slide, but in the older models they say: "Sig Sauer P226 / Stainless / SIGARMS INC"/ "EXETER-NH-USA"? Do any experts know when they changed the markings and why? These markings disappear on the rear frame as well.
Para mi es una pistila que lo tiene todo, bonita, precisa, muy fiable, buena capacida, etc,no es un diez en nada pero es un 9 en todo, por decirlo de alguna manera
Not to sound dumb, but is there an advantage of any kind (maybe in a carry scenario?) of leaving your hammer down for double action? It would seem like leaving it back for single action would be better.
@Gunghis Kahn...I've had guns before, when I was young and really stupid. Now I'm at lot older and probably a little less stupid, what would you recommend to get for my 1st legal handgun?
every person is different and what works for one person might not for someone else, head to a local gun store and get a feel for a few handguns and see what you like. if you’re on a budget and don’t want to make a bad choice then take a note of the gun you liked then head home and see what you can find online about it, there’s tons of gun review channels on RUclips
There are a ton of different guns available now days. Depending on purpose, like concealed carry or home defense, you would select different firearms. IMO a good starting place would be a HK VP9, CZ P10c, Glock 19, or similar.
How do you lock the slide back without a magazine in the gun on the 226? It has a low profile slide catch that you cannot push up with the side of your thumb. Or maybe it's that way only on the Legion model I was looking at?
I thought to fire the 226, you want to spin it wildy in your hand while putting on sunglasses and a loudspeaker behind you blaring "YEEEEEEEAHHHHH..." from the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Just took a brand new Mk25 to the range, and had 3 failures to fire out of about 150 rounds. Cleaned the factory gunk off before. Used Winchester white box 115gr FMJ target ammo, out of both supplied magazines, and four extra Sig magzines. Reloaded these rounds in empty magazines, and fired without failure. Any ideas? Thanks.
Primer strikes appear uniform and normal. One of the guys at the range says it looks like primer issues with Winchester white box 115gr stuff. Says they’ve seen it lately. I have no idea if that’s so.
Its heavy. Maybe a duty gun but conceal carry might be a stretch, I have one in .357 sig and I only use it for gome defense. Too heavey to cc unless you go shoulder holster imo.
