They really did a great job with this expansion, it shows that they did listen to people and understood why SoTo somehow "failed".
Just to mention, this maps give me THE WITCHER vibes.

Janthir Wilds is in my Opinion 1000x better than EOD and SoTo together lol.

How you can tell after first day cmon xd, actually lot of bugs, and main villains in story those rock spiders are poop, but mapa are pretty nice

Soto started out very strong but the end was kinda weird and felt out of place
I think its the best map content since HoT. Like of course its currently lacking group content at this patch, but the first 2 days have been genuinely fun. After the 2nd chapter the story has arguably the best pacing in terms of adventure/doing stuff at the homestead/silly adventure ect.. Both maps are amazing with chill/silly stuff to do, painting titan footprints on a beach/collecting honey/frogger ect.. The second map Janthir Syntri might be my favorite map Anets ever done, I turned up the rain effects and sat in that map all day doing events/exploring... Also keen to go fishing eventually..Reminds me of the Death Stranding map.. Keen to see the raid/convergence/added patches and maps as we go into the year!
I tried so hard to like SotO but it was such a chore to get through. Janthir has been such a breath of fresh air. Me and my buddy were exploring Lowland Shore and didn’t realize that hours had passed.
I just appreciate that they have listened to us since HOTs. Like we told them with HoTs we didn't mind the mobs being difficult but they were too clustered. So in POF they kept the difficulty but spread the mobs out so you weren't fighting every 5 feet. 😂 As an example.
It really shows that ANet got a lot of people when Blizzard made the dumb "no remote work" decision. The amount of people they had on SotO would never have madethis.

I enjoy everything about janthir, specially the maps and WB, cant wait for the raid/convergence.
First map is jaw dropping and I'm yet to see the next one
I enjoyed the first hour of Janthir more than the entire year of Soto
Reminder that the start of Soto also was interesting, it started falling apart in the 2nd and especially 3rd map though.
The Kryptis war could finally give us an enemy that is straight up evil, yet they chose to 'humanize' them instead.

the 1st map is beyond amazing, the second one however is absolutely devoid of interesting content except the meta, which is sad bc it does look pretty

Seeing a lot of positive feedback for the new expansion, but the content part seems very light ? I have a feeling the players might run through the entire content in a week probably. Correct me if I'm wrong 👍

I want the last 3 armor for our elites it would be so nice but the story and maps are better then soto
I worry that the lack of meta is going to make the first map really stale. Maybe there's enough champs to sustain a champ train, but I think it's a big miss to have a map that doesn't have a scheduled meta nor is repeatable like dragonfall/drizzlewood.
Usually I'd farm out the masteries and do the achievements asap, but not having metas to supplement the exp is real tough (the world boss is a single event and currently bugged so not sure how much exp it gives). I'm thinking I'll just wait until the first quarterly patch to spam the convergence tbh

Interesting view. I think so far it has been a painful experience and hugely disappointed in it. World looks great but other than that, seems as bad as SoTo to me an the worst thing they could have done was tie it into that disaster by using the rift crap. They could have used the elder dragon Story line - it would have been a better angle. They can't even decide it your character is the commander or the wayfinder (whatever that means), it just sounds stupid. I hope it gets better with later content but as for now - a lacklustre lazy story telling, slow and plodding and not very engaging.

MightyTeapot went from 47.9k viewers down to 1.9k once he was off the front page of Twitch. Yeah. GW2 has been in maintenance mode since the new release schedule of these "expansions".
I subscribe to him on RUclips but rarely watch his videos as they are just too long. 12 hour streams aren't for everyone...
I used to listen inthe background to mightyteapot all the time while doing other things but once he started playing WoW it went downhill from there. I played Wow for a few years but hasnt been in the recent updates. But i dislike how he talks about WoW all the time while playing Gw2, like im here to listen to you talking and discussing about gw2 not wow. I think that made him loose viewers.
Game feels insanely dead when playing and it makes me so sad. When I entered the expansion on the first day of the Janthir Wild I saw maybe like 2 people, most of the instance was at commander's mark. I was shocked lol, I'm used to server breaking when expansion launches in an MMO.
There's constantly like 6 different events you walk by in the open world that NOBODY is doing, not a single person.
Found it boring, long winded, full of re-used assets and re-skinned monsters. Got bored shortly after getting the Warclaw (long overdue, should never have required pvp to get in the first place), didn't even bother to get the Spear sorted first, rest of the MP could care less about.
I did the very first SoTo mission and noped out for the rest, skipped to next chapter to unlock all weapons for all classes, then only really logged in daily to get the points for the Wizard shop. Was hopeful for the expansion to rekindle my interest but damn was it fucking boring.
The last time I really played with excitement was before the devastatingly bad writing of Jormag vs Primordus. Taking out two EDs in a living story, they were clearly rushing to finish. Then there was a the fuckup of EoD's piss poor writing and finale, the debacle of open world raid boss, their writing team has just nosedived off a cliff for the last few years
This won't be the expansion to save GW2, if anything I'd be concerned for the future
sounds like you need to find a new game, otherwise you'll just be complaining about this one. People are different, and they change. That's the only truth; not that this game or that game are good or bad, but that people are different and they change. Maybe you changed since you first played GW2 and its time to move on?
Yeah... I like GW2 how it is and I enjoy the improvements. I think this game just might not be for you.
The fact that you said warclaw should not have required pvp (wvw) proves you do not connect to this game and should find another.

B4 this xpac... There was no NEED to use the Warclaw in PvE. Literally ZERO reason. It had no skills of any use in PvE and was the slowest mount.
