Before you say SHE SHOULD BE FREE - she is!
If you have questions like...
- why fable is in an aviary
- why I use bars rather than mesh (so she doesn't damage her feathers)
- does she free fly (yes!)
Then please watch this video where I explain more about her life:

If you train that bird to say “never more” when ever it meets someone I will eat a pair of shoes
Hotsam Noirchards yeah, but most people don’t claim to be experts and just want to know why she’s behind bars. It’s not a big deal and we don’t always need to ignore people just because they make us feel a certain way.
🐋🐋🐋 yeah but, then again, the creator was addressing the comments saying it is not okay to keep the bird locked up, she added a tad more detail to better explain the situation.

Wooooow (: and yes, perfectly put (:

pretty much yeah! 😅
Lady: hits head with plastic bowl
Crow: now THAT'S my type of comedy
@Radu fr
raven not a crow smh
@@boopydoopy4506 Ravens are a type of crow. A crow is actually any bird that is a member of the Corvus Genus.
I dont even know how I ended up here but you have the most beautiful channel. The connection with this bird is beyond words. When you started stroking her feathers and the moment of complete silence settled in, it was magical and I almost wanted to cry. Animals and birds are so beautiful and you have the kindest soul caring for them :)
To me it is especially soothing in very trying, uncertain times.
Absolutely! Well said. It was a touching tender moment.🥰🌹😘
What she said. Have to admit that this middle-aged man may have rolled a tear or two watching this.
I’m kind of torn on the one hand he’s on the other this is a captive bird born and raised in captivity which is kinda sad for such an intelligent being.
It's remarkable how Fable can clearly pronounce the B's and P's in "Boop-Boop" without lips.
20$ says Fable learns to make fire with that magnifying lense one day.
a magnifying make-up mirror might get her attention for a while too.
a bell with a cord to its clapper for her to ring it with (never a jingle bell birds can get their toes etc caught and/or broken in those things!).
Wow... we really do watch all the same stuff, mostly political videos, but I'm even seeing you here, lol.
@fluoxy L. It's a she.
@fluoxy L. The 'gaping' is their way to regulate heat. Birds don't sweat, so they rely on evaporation from the mouth. When they get excited, or the sun starts to heat up those black feathers, they gape a bit, and eventually pant if it gets too hot. It's normal :)
Though excessive gaping while fluffed up and acting lethargic is a sign of big trouble.
@@zvxcvxcz I'm not stalking you, honest... That wasn't me in your trash last night, either!
Everyones talking about covid, i just want to talk about corvids!
That needs to be merch
Me too!
@@martharetallick204 I was thinking the same pun the other day!
I think you mean Corona:) The name refers to the sun. The virus, not Corvid the bird group.:) perhaps it what you mean?
@@vickikgibson9470 No, that's not what was meant. 😄
It was a simple play on words. 😉
Boop Boop! I’m in love. That quiet, gentle moment between you and Fable that was filled with such love and affection was really special and so relaxing to watch. Fable is amazing and watching these videos really is a highlight to my lockdown days. Thank you for sharing them. Boop boop! Mwah
"she goes all round like a little pudding"
I do love that chill bit. I think it's Aces.
I love how Fable threw that bowl back on the floor as if to say 'don't tidy my stuff! That doesn't even belong there!'
Watching birds ask for head scratches is so lovely. I think it is adorable how they bow their heads and fluff up their head feathers.
Yes it was hilarious!
It's funny that she has a specific reaction to silliness. That is super freakin cute.
5:43 the way she looks at you, truly incredible. I'm never going to see corvids the same way ! thank you so much!
I couldn't agree more! I always felt a bit spiteful about ravens particularly because of the nests they raid (bald eagles to be specific) but have found my heart opening to them now, seeing them through Amy's eyes. xo
I'm shocked to see that there are so many thumbs down on this video. Having watched most of Falconry And Me's recent videos, it is clear to see that these birds are loved, cared for and, most importantly, protected by an expect who cares deeply for them. Birds born in captivity cannot survive long. These birds are clearly happy, contented and living their best lives. They even breed!. Boop Boop !!
A small business owner told me “There are just people in this world who refuse to be happy or satisfied. Nothing you do will ever be good enough to overcome their love of misery. As long as you are satisfied that you are doing the best, then all you can do is move them through the pipeline as quickly as you can, so that they don’t drag you down to their level.” Reminds me of the kind of people who thumbs down these videos.
I visited a falconry centre a few years' back. Fabulous day out, for kids and adults. Would highly recommend it. We learnt an awful lot that day. One of the things we were told were the birds in captivity were healthy and lived far longer lives than those found in the wild. All I see is a bond between a human and a beautiful bird. May it prosper.
For someone has gone unloved all my life knowing most birds mate for life I can't help feeling sorry for this bird. I know she is love by this woman knowing she wouldn't survive freedom.
Your like the Jane Goodall of birds. You are so fun to watch. If the world doesn’t end, I think your channel is going to blow up and grow. 👍🙂
I feel the same way. Studied animal behavior in school and can see we have a real talent on our hands here. Also, the human is decent too. :p
Yes and we can help.. share the videos. I am going to tweet them out, let us all help get her more subscribers.
I like this pair. Both are cute and make us smile. 😎👍
@@mrs.schmenkman I love it when trolls make negative criticism when they are not even well informed. She answered questions about this very topic in one of her vids. So why don't you go and look it up before you throw the hate.. geesh
Deb Carsey you’re a moron. Goodall worked with *wild* animals. fable wasn’t abducted from the forest; she was bred in captivity and doesn’t know any other type of life. She obviously loves her handler and loves being the center to attention. Look how healthy and happy the bird is. Look at her feathers! Does this look like a mistreated or distressed animal? Are you really that dumb?
Ever heard on Koko the gorilla? Koko was “isolated” from other gorillas in a human environment but formed a fantastic bond with her doctor and had a long and interesting life.
Fable has more personality than most people I know! 🦹🏻♀️
When do I know you from ? 🙈🙉🙊
Fable is wonderful :)
A real beautiful bird
Time to meet other people then! ;)
I hope you are exaggerating. You probably mean most animals you know.
And that's saying something ms lol yep
Aww... I needed this today... Also, that moment when Romance from Chopin started playing at 5:39... suits the situation.
You mean Nocturne Op.9 No.2?
I love the Chopin as background music for the head scratches.
Awww she’s lovely. I remember a time we had a garbage bag of tampons (clean) to stock the women’s bathroom on a construction site. When I came out to grab the bag ravens were flying around the site with tampons in their mouth 😆 funniest thing ever, such a curious bird. Hope they built some nice nests with them.
I'm so glad you specified that they were clean! 🤣
Maybe he was getting it for his ladybird. Such a gentleman
Matthew Levine haha!

hell yeah
Some of the better things to watch while in isolation (scratch that, while opting to watch anything whenever, haha) - human interest - animal interest - I love how you handle her. Professional all the way, pragmatic, tender when needed, with real and honest care. Just loving it. Nice editing also. Cheers.
This is someone who knows animals and respects them. Cheers fellow traveler!
Exactly!
You can tell that you are passionate about what you do with these different birds and that you genuinely love them.
I love that you know how to read her moods and you know when she wants something and when she has had enough.
she has a nice nest and person that cares about her.
It's an aviary not a nest.

The same here with my mom. Now she feeds them.
That's awesome!!!!
I would still show them a healthy respect!
Was cool to see you’s having that moment, could tell it was special. Such an awesome creature.
You and fable bring sunshine to me and my 7 year old daughters day. We love watching both of you, when she said "hello" wow! Please keep them coming. It was surreal when she was humming back at you too, would deffo love some merch! Thank you beautiful lady xxx
My mom used to talk about having a good time as "gonna go shake some tail feathers."
Aaaah! Of course! It's not common to hear that (round 'yurr) any more...I like it and shall start saying it in honour of the English language, Fable and your mum! Wonder what other bird-related expressions have crept in over the centuries? "As the crow flies", "Take sb under your wing", "henpecked", "don't put your eggs in one basket", "a nice little nest-egg"..?
@Din Ding She was young during WWII and was stationed in San Diego. She had dozens of old B&W photos from when the bars had "camera girls" walking around. She was pretty, but as her son I can't comment on her tail feathers.
Do all your siblings look quite a bit different than each other? I think we could take her meaning from that evidence.
Peacocks are known for shaking tail feathers. I wonder how many birds do that, and it's probably a lot.
@@Biomirth After the war mom married dad and that lasted 42 years til dad passed. They had 4 boys who were all a good deal of dad and just enough of mom to smooth us out. She loved dancing and a good story, so I surmise that was her feather shaking outlet at least as far as the kids needed to know. I miss her.
Fable is one super handsome Raven thats for sure ^^
10/10 would 'boop boop' again!
She is beautiful and I think her going "soft" comes from her trust in you, warms my heart...great video
She's gorgeous! I absolutely adore corvids, especially ravens. I get all excited and drop everything I'm doing when I hear one flying over my house just to run out and watch it! My family gets a kick out of my wacky behavior.... So I'm especially thrilled to watch Fable. Thank you for sharing her!
Fable is a beautiful bird. It's especially cute hearing her say words or just seeing her affectionate self in general
I *love love love* these videos with her and Fable, just discovered them yesterday. They get on so well and it so obviously shows but I've got to say it. They're are also very relaxing ❤😊
Watching a human be genuine and not filled with their own agendas is too rare a thing. Add in a Raven in the same mood and you get this magic.
The range of emotions are amazing to watch.
When Mum used to dig her Lawn Flower beds kneeling down the same Raven would be inches from Her waiting for Worms and such .
Mum spent way to much time turning over soil and giving it treats lol .
Of course it was all about what the Bird got out the deal but Mum was convinced they was best mates haha.
that IS about as "good friends" you can expect from most wild birds tho..
a bird trusting enough to get that close to someone is kinda rare.
@@modelnutty6503 It's not a wild bird. It was bred in captivity.
@@roberttrail7013 Model Nutty was referring to the Wild Bird the OPs mum was mates with. Not making a judgement on Amy and Fable.

I have that relationship with our local robins. All summer they keep tabs on my garden work, and come begging for me to dig something up.
For the record, you both are beautiful. Thank you for introducing us to Fable and the rest of the flock!
This is so soothing. Fable is such a sweetheart and you have such a lovely bond with her. Using Chopin's "Nocturne" was a really nice touch. Thank you for taking care of these birds and for your work in educating us about them.
My husband and i just love watching your videos, especially Fable!!!! We Love Fable!! she is adding much joy to our lives especially in this stressful time. Stay safe and thank you for all that you do for our feather friends.
Thank you so much for sharing Fable. I so miss seeing and interacting with those marvelous birds.
Such a lovely bird.👍☺
It’s so very clear that there’s a friendship between you. It’s so pure and calming to hear you whisper to her and for her to close her eyes in relaxation as you stroke her head feathers.
Just love this! Fable seems so happy, and, of course she is free!! Thank you lovely lady!!xxx
I think she said something like" isnt that lovely" when she was all happy and squidgy. It was lovely to see- good on ya!
Well, I am now obsessed with you and Fable. I love the "mwah" kiss sound she does and that "Hello" is freakishly human sounding. I thought you said it at first.
I thought the same thing at first...fables beak was pointed down a bit and I thought it was the woman just repeating the sound.
@@mary2270515 p
And very British sounding I might add. She’s mimicking her perfectly. That’s skill.
Fable is AMAZING!! And at first time I thought that that "Hello" was from you but it was Fable!! Amy, you are amazing too, you love them and care so much, thanks!
That soft and tender moment with her was beautiful and melted my heart! Thank you so much for the video!
Pure magic! Thank you.
I wonder if, when she puts her beak on you and "churbles," if that is similar to a cat's purr? I have heard that the purr helps a cat to heal injuries by stimulating their fascia...I would guess she, in turn, is wishing you good health?
My parrot has a sound just like purring when he's happy. Maybe it's just a thing social animals do?
What a beautiful expressive bird. So much personality. Thanks for sharing this.
How tender and sweet the look Fable had in her eyes when she was being petted. I swear it is the same look I get when I scratch my dogs ears. Pure bliss and wonderful moment.
I can tell by how she looks at you that she LOVES you and loves her cuddle time with you.
Love your videos. Especially with Fable! Thanks for sharing!
I'm binge-watching all your videos! It's so much fun to see you interact with Fable!
One of your videos appeared in my suggestions and Fable just hooked me and reeled me right in. This is wonderful work you're doing, such trust and respect. :)
Such a wonderful interaction to behold. You're so fantastic with her and she's so happy to have a human that appreciates and cares for her. It would seem that both of you know how lucky you got. = D
Fable is so fantastic, I love her sweet but mischievous nature. She is so cool although I can bet she can be a bad tempered miss if she wishes to. Such a magnificent bird!
Thank you so much for filming and sharing these videos. I've learnt so much about Ravens from you I will never view these birds the same. They are so smart. ❤️❤️❤️
You are so blessed with 2 beautiful bird Ravens . ❤️ Thank you for taking care of them ❤️

There is something I really like about this lady. Shes not glamour kind of beautiful but just beautiful all the same.
Indeed, this human is beautiful inside and out.
Yeah, was thinking the same thing - I'm quite drawn to her, I must admit.
Yup, I see it too, she is a beautiful woman.
Risque Rabbit The Home spa yeah natural beauty, the best kind
Just a normal, average kind of beautiful. The kind of person you point out to young girls who aren’t feeling good about themselves because they don’t look like people on tv.
What absolutely marvelous videos! Don't have to be a falconer to enjoy. Thank you from across the pond.

Thank you for sharing your special connection with Fable with us! I am so intrigued by her adaptability, intelligence, and your sensitivity. I look forward to watching more of your awesome videos! :-)
Did you have any trouble with Fable going for your eyes when young? I raise a few ravens when at a preserve in Maine (they bred regularly, and nearly every year would hoof a hatchling from the nest and refuse to feed it), and I'll be damned if every one didn't go through a 'I want to play with that shiny thing in your head' phase.
My ear - yes. My eyes - no...luckily ;)
Oh god! That's horrifying and hilarious
I'm going to chose to interpret that as my having IRRESISTIBLE eyes. * batts lashes *
I've been pecked in the eye by one of my hens. Just before she did it, she looked at me pretty intently, so now I've learned to watch out for that look. One also pecked me in the teeth once. There's no malice or anything, that's just how chickens explore their world. Same with other birds, maybe?
Edit "Ooh, what's that shiny thing?" Then when you freak out they realize that isn't an action to repeat, lol.
@@AbigailPoirier Oh.. they LOVE the reaction, believe me! You gotta fight the urge to react at all, just turn your head, and calmly say "No.", and put them down and leave if they keep at it. Nothing is more interesting to a raven than finding out there's a 'make 'em freak out' button that's always one peck away.
I loved the music! Especially during the petting hehe 😍 I loved seeing that side of Fable!!
The love between you and Fable is priceless, That's why you have so many fans ! As your audience, we feel that love shining through. Beautiful bird, and love how caring you are with her. The bond you two have is so lovely to see. Like so many others have said, I really needed this. Thank you for posting. 💕
You two are amazing together! I love your Fable videos, they make my day!
She's so much fun to watch!!
i've heard of corvids being attracted to shiny things, have you noticed this with Fable? and does she have a favorite toy?
Who knows? 🍄
I fostered a fledgling Crow And it loved shiny things and it loved to steal.
I had a big pile of coins that I was counting. So I initially dumped them out into one big pile and the crow would steal one from the pile. Then I separated all them into their separate different piles and he would steal coins from the farthest pile from me. Then he would progress into stealing from the piles that were closer to me all the way on up to where he would steal them out of my hand. It was funnier than hell.
there are more birds that are acttracted to shiny things. i think its more out of curiousity than out of greed. our cockatiel at home likes shiny things aswel.
My mother always said that magpies would steal jewellery off bedside tables in the summer if bedroom windows were left open. I'm not really sure I ever believed her.
I'm sure of it, hell, I'm attracted to shiny things!
I happened to just stumble upon this channel and I absolutely love Fable. I think it's awesome how you two have bonded.
Very calming to watch. A lovely bond
She turns all cudly like a little baby! If that isn't adorable I don't know what is. Birds of prey are incredible hunters, but by the looks of it corvii know how to 'domesticate a human' and do a great job at it. ;)

Of course ravens, crows, buzzards, etc. feed on anything they can lay their talons on especially when they do not have to go to great lengths to get it. From a survival perspective that's intelligent. not just opportunistic. Besides, they have not conditioned us to behave in a manner that causes many dead animals because of traffic or littering the environment; that is simply of our own making, wouldn't you say?
So pretty! Love the croaking at the end.
Same here!
She is mesmerizing, thank you for sharing. You are a natural at doing these videos with your birds. I am just now starting to appreciate birds after many years with pet cats. No more cats so now my pets are wild birds. I love watching videos like this and learning more. She is absolutely precious.

She's so happy to see you! What a lovely, funny friend. My cousins grew up in the woods and had crows as pets. They were the most delightful, mischievous, funny companions; they would fight over who got to ride on shoulders when the boys rode their ATV's. They also seemed to understand the value of coins, uninterested in pennies and nickels but all about the dimes and quarters. Anyway, Fable is such a fun and pretty girl. Glad you have one another!
