I love how calmly and rationally you address criticism, speaks a lot to how seriously you take your job. It seems in most cases an active and curious animal is a happy animal and Fable definitely fits that's description.
There is a Raven near my house. Initially it started with stealing grapes my mom would dry in the sun, so we named it Raisin. A few weeks later as we started to feed it regularly it would come as we called it and later brought another raven. Is there a way to tame wild Ravens without capturing them or somehow improve the relationship of us humans with them? I realised over the course of 3months of quarantine and spending time with them that Ravens are really vocal, smart and social. Raisin now demands food by sitting in her usual place and yelling for us to feed her. It's hilarious. Please ignore people's unnecessary judgements about how to care for animals. Many are very ill-informed. And you explained it beautifully. 💓
You're lucky that one of our Avian overlords has decided to make you its pet. It's not unheard of, but it's not uncommon, either. There's a youtube channel called The Dodo. you can find a lot of these kinds of interactions there.
It’s a joy to watch you with your birds. Your affection and respect for them is obvious. Your rapport with them enriches mankind and hopefully all sentient beings. I’m glad these birds have you.
It's completely transparent that you and Fable have a mutually respectful relationship. My friend Albert the canary prefers his space and is braver than I when it comes to at home vet care. Thanks for this vlog ❤️
I have mixed feelings about this. One the one hand, I'm really happy you took the time to explain all of that, because I learned something from it. I'm also really happy that people out in the world are concerned for the welfare of animals. But I'm not so happy that everybody on Earth thinks that everything is their business these days and that everybody else owes them an explanation for their actions.
I don't know, I think it's good in a sense, I mean, people accusing others isn't but people asking and wanting to understand or even be reassured that something isn't harmful is important. It's about accountability, which socially is a double edged sword but if we can use it in a respectful way, with an open mind, it allows us to hold each other accountable and understand each other better. While it's irritating being accused, I think it's important to just be honest and explain when you're doing something people think is bad, because those thoughts will come from a lack of understanding and your explanation can clarify things for them. In the end if people can ask respectfully and people can answer respectfully and everyone can avoid taking things personally, it's beneficial. I really like how she handled the questions and accusations. I didn't know anything about birds in captivity so I didn't have an opinion on whether it was right or wrong, but after watching this video I think that if done properly, by people like her, it's a good thing, beneficial to birds in general.
It seems obvious to me that Fable is very happy and well cared for, as I’m sure with all of your birds, so keep up the amazing work that you do! And thank you for sharing - it’s so fun & interesting!😊👍🏻
fable is so cute, i never knew ravens could be so chatty and affectionate!! and she has a wonderful life in your care! i would love to see videos introducing your other birds, too!
When I was a little boy of about six, a neighbour had a crow named Jacob. He was mischievous he'd untie our shoes or drop pieces of gardensoil on top of our heads during flight.
As a bird mum I can tell how much she loves and trusts you, her interactions with you are beautiful. She is so healthy looking with those shiny feathers, what you are doing with these birds is nothing short of a gift for you and them. We humans can learn so much from these incredible intelligent creatures. Thank you for what you do and sharing Fable with us. 🖤
Fairy Tail From my observation, a lot of people vent internal anger onto others using social media, something they may never do face to face. Their opinions are polarized and based on popular rhetoric, not from deeply informed knowledge and keen perception...and they have limited or no empathy for their fellow man. I think the really mean ones are missing true love in their life, love of others, themselves, education...you name it. I’m just blathering on. Stay well and love life!
I think what you're doing is awesome! Most people have no idea the massive amount of love and dedication that is required in working with birds and just how amazing they are💖
*Bird lives for 33 years with caring human* Uninformed people: "LET THIS BIRD BE FREE" *Bird dies in the wild in 5 mins* Also them: Well that's nature ya know
One of the most natural things is for a human to take a sick, injured or orphaned Animal, nurse it back to health and release it to the wild or if that's not possible (because of injuries, bonding or other reasons) keep it as a pet. We are as much a part of nature as those birds and whatever we do is natural. This includes houses, atomic power plants even genetically engineered food. I could go on but I think I've made my point.
If you aren't already planning to do so, could you make a "tour" type video, of either the place you keep all your birds, or showing all the birds you own and why? I've found your channel earlier today, actually, and I'm so glad you're making these videos, birds are one of my favorite animals, and seeing content about captive bred birds of prey is brilliant and so so interesting, keep doing what you do! I'm looking forward to more videos :)
Can people not see the amazing love you two have for each other?! Fable literally would not leave you alone. And I don't think people realise the really intelligent birds are worse than cats, and absolutely do what they want.
I just absolutely love watching the two of you!! She just loves you!! I really enjoy all the fantastic information aswell. Thank you! and please keep making videos
About 15 years ago I had a wild raven swoop down and grab my hat right off of my head. It landed on a fence nearby and actually let me walk within about 10 feet before dropping my hat and hopping down the fence, squawking at me for a bit before flying off. I've been drawn to them ever since. We have a lot of them that live around us in Bakersfield, Ca. I love to just watch and listen to them, especially in the early morning around our house. Thank you so much for these videos of Fable!

Oh my goodness she is so amazing! I’ve often thought that if I could have a bond with any bird, it would be a raven. Thanks for making so many videos of her, I can’t wait to see more!😊
So appreciate you taking the time to address everyone's concerns! I can only speak for myself, I want Fable to have a wonderful life, and I believe she has that with you. Boop boop!
What a lovely personality she has! Wow, it is so amazing to see animals showing sides of themselves we normally don't see. I've always loved ravens, but has no idea the range of vocalizations they had. Can't wait to see more of Fable!
I found an injured kestrel when I lived in Bristol. I contacted a falconer called Ian Blantern from Clifton. Fascinating subject. I released the kestrel when he was better.
I‘ve got a pointer very similar to the dog on the video and he‘s a rambunctious dingus, I was terrified for half a second seeing Fable next to that pointer but was pleasantly surprised! They look like they get on fairly well!
You and Fable are so cool! You've had some ignorant and vicious comments. That's sad. I hope the people bothered to listen and learn. I have two small parrots and have cared for psittacines for 57 years. To me it appears you are knowledgeable and skilled and you and your animals are happy together. How did you choose Fable's name? Is it related to Aesop's fables?
I don't understand how people can criticize you while knowing nothing about wild animals. You obviously know what you're doing, you're working with this full time and you really seem to love and care for these animals. You are doing amazing work. I'm sorry that people think they are the experts and that you have to answer to these stupid people's angry comments. Love from Sweden and Bulgaria!
I have nothing but admiration for what you're doing. She's captive raised, she wouldn't survive in the wild. You can see that there is a lot of trust between you and her, and I really admire that..... keep up the extremely good work. Nature will show affection to those who give it.
How interesting. When Fable flies freely does she encounter other corvids and how does that go? Are there any dangers like her getting assaulted or that crazy crow flu that was killing birds a decade or so ago?
JEIL free flying birds is a carefully done and taught thing, people do it with a variety of parrots, letting them free fly. The birds always fly back for the reasons she discussed, and for encounters with danger it’s taught to the birds so they know to avoid conflict and fly back if they see wild other birds- check out Adventures of Roku
Amazing. People have so much negativity when they dont know the first thing about birds. Long time parrot "wrangler" here. Wrangler, companion, handler... never "owner." My relationship w my cockatoo is negotiated and nurtured daily. Thank you so much for sharing Fable with us!!!
that's a big bird , seen a couple ravens myself in Belgium , some big , but this one ... wow beautiful animal and impressive how it can mimic entire sentences i can see that you care a lot about your animals , don't worry what people say in the comments i prefer animals being in the wild , but some can't care for themselfs , like this one it's nice to see that some people put their own time and money in to helping another animal gonna watch some other clips now , glad i found your channel , keep it up !

vikings thought they were messengers of Odin likely this talking was part of it. Their ability to mimic everything from tone to accent probably extremely shocking when you didn't know they could talk at all.
There´s a reason the raven is one of the most important birds in most folklore, fables and ancient religious texts and frequently associated with gods, witches, demons etc. People obviously realized there´s more to them than your average bird. Their ability to speak and imitate sounds, their willingsness to form bonds with humans, their drive to steal and hoard things. All of this must have seemed to them indicative of something more than an average animal solely driven by instinct. Also let´s be real. Anyone who has ever interacted with a wild raven knows the way they measure you with their eyes is kinda menacing. It´s like they´re looking straight into your soul. Look at most birds and for the most part you´ll see nothing special. Look at a raven and you realize that bird is looking at you with the same interest as you are looking at him. Fascinating creatures really!
I so appreciate you taking the time to explain the positives surrounding the issue of avian "captivity". I have been owned by a wild caught African Grey parrot for over 36 years and have frequently gotten the " it should be put back in the wild" speech from folks. While I understand their reasoning for thinking I'm being selfish in having this amazing being in my home, like you, I explain that in this particular case, by the time this bird came to me it was far beyond reasonable to even consider releasing him back to the wild. As you so eloquently stated they no longer have the instincts to survive without human intervention. My feathered companion came to the Pet Bird trade via poaching, a hideous practice that has contributed to the decimation of countless species; thank you for your efforts and contributions to educate people. And a big " Boop Boop" to Fable. She is exquisite.

Haha, this bird is so funny - love it! Can you tell me more about what she likes to steal and hide after her flying free outside?;) I had a book in my childhood about a little girl and a raven - thats when my love for these creatures started.. Alas, I have never met one in real life so far...
I think what you are doing is great. Thank you for taking the time to share with us. I wish people weren't so eager to be angry about things they don't fully understand.
Ravens have started to nest in Lincolnshire now, they are magnificent birds and very distinct from crows, once heard never forgotten! Loved the video, really interesting and she is obviously very loved.
Hello..stumbled across your channel today, really enjoying it and have subscribed...couple of questions..do you need to have a licence to keep corvids, like you do with your birds of prey? Do you allow visits to your centre..and lastly...when Fable is climbing all over you..does she ever crap all over you, or does she kind of respect you as her partner and do it somewhere else! As I say, really enjoyed seeing the bits on Fable, and looking forward to watching all your stuff during the 'lockdown'..cheers, have a great day! Andy.
Hi! Did you know, about a century ago a french prominent scientist, by the family name of Dupont de Nemours, recorded more than 52 inflexions in the voice of adults corvids. This is remarquable because it shows they have a real language of their own. Think about it, you are traveling in another country, you do not speak the language and you are in need of basic things like water, food, sleeping place, etc...if you know 50 words describing these simple needs, you can manage easily. To do so, you need a form of consciousnes quite evolved. When younger I had a tame raven also. Fantastic experience, my best friend. He was poisoned by a jealous neighbour enraged by its vocals. I was 14 years old at that time. I sweared to myself to kill the neighbour, but fortunately My parents moved to another country.lol. Thanks for your work

I'm good with you having her. How else would I learn just how incredible these birds are without videos like this.
Thank you!
Beatriz Moreno I agree!! Boop Boop!!
True!!! I thought your mixed feelings were going to be about raven captivity or something, this was a nice surprise lol
@@KittyBoom360 That's a valid point I wasn't considering.

It seems obvious to me that Fable is very happy and well cared for, as I’m sure with all of your birds, so keep up the amazing work that you do! And thank you for sharing - it’s so fun & interesting!😊👍🏻
She’s incredible. Thank you for sharing Fable with us. She’s lovely, as is her unfeathered caretaker.
- Amy: I use her for a lot of research, understanding & learning...
- Fable: Waa?!
- Amy: Yes!
:D
I would love to see footage of Fable interacting w/ other animals like the dog we saw in this video. 😃
Unless a bird trusts you they would die before letting you keep them ...
PS . I congratulate you on yr patience , beautiful manners & dedication in explaining to people ( complainers 😟) what you do .. well done 😌
fable is so cute, i never knew ravens could be so chatty and affectionate!! and she has a wonderful life in your care!
i would love to see videos introducing your other birds, too!
When I was a little boy of about six, a neighbour had a crow named Jacob. He was mischievous he'd untie our shoes or drop pieces of gardensoil on top of our heads during flight.
Are you sure it was soil? 😁
Is that why you’re a killer for the cartels? Early crow trauma?
@@frankmcgovern5445 I couldn't hold a cattlegun back then, let alone a silenced shotgun.
Is Fable visited by wild Ravens? Would they be friendly or aggressive towards her?
"She would make a rubbish pet." Fable: "WHAT?!?!" XD
As a bird mum I can tell how much she loves and trusts you, her interactions with you are beautiful. She is so healthy looking with those shiny feathers, what you are doing with these birds is nothing short of a gift for you and them. We humans can learn so much from these incredible intelligent creatures. Thank you for what you do and sharing Fable with us. 🖤
It’s always the uninformed who shout their opinions out the loudest. Fable is so entertaining and I really enjoy seeing your interactions with her
Indeed, I imagine they write the first thing that pops into their mind, pat themselves in the back for a job well done, and move on to another video.

Fable. Boo boop, maah.
Jason 😂👍
I think what you're doing is awesome! Most people have no idea the massive amount of love and dedication that is required in working with birds and just how amazing they are💖
You represent the best kind of human taking care of animals. Great job! Those birds are livin' their best life! :D
*Bird lives for 33 years with caring human*
Uninformed people: "LET THIS BIRD BE FREE"
*Bird dies in the wild in 5 mins*

The willful ignorance is blinding

Yo that is so true 🤣
@@cloudsenpai9258
Falconer, now bloody and surrounded by vultures: all too true
Every time she looks at the camera she puffs up her head feathers 🤣 like "how do I look, oh dear, a bit deflated" 🤣
She does sound a lot like you. I see why people get confused. Along with the fact that so many people are idiots!! ;^)
a birds vocal organ (syrinx) is even better at producing noises which is why birds in captivity can sound so alike their human
@@aeliapanoowau1719 My parrot (Green Cheek Conure) sounds exactly like me when he asks "What's up?"[awesome]. He sounds exactly like my alarm clock if I'm not uncovering him on time in the morning [not awesome].
She's mimicking her .
I just stumbled across your videos about an hour ago and watched every video of Fable I could find! I love listening to ravens talk! Thank you so much for being such a great educator and for taking such beautiful care of these gorgeous creatures!
I think you're doing a great job. Ignore people who don't understand what their talking about. Fable is beautiful and obviously very happy x
You did amazing in responding to ¡everyone else’s issues!, that with-out, they could not find validity. Fable’s so very adorable. Thanks for sharing
I think the work you do and the effort is great, and Fable is absolutely stunning. Ignore any negativity, many more of us appreciate what you do 👍🏻
Oh my goodness she is so amazing!
I noticed the dog looked relaxed with her and vice versa, does she have any particular other species friends?
I suspect there are no mouser farm cats around.
fantastic question!! please let us know
I‘ve got a pointer very similar to the dog on the video and he‘s a rambunctious dingus, I was terrified for half a second seeing Fable next to that pointer but was pleasantly surprised! They look like they get on fairly well!
I feel you are a wonderful lady to love and take care of birds like you do! Hugs Fable!
Beautiful bird, very well cared for and looks happy and engaged.
Well thankyou for your diagnosis. We're all so relieved.
Absolutely incredible! Her size, color, attitude, etc. I could watch yall all day ❤
You and Fable are so cool!
Yes it is where I thought of her name! Great guess. As I child I had an book of all the fables. I was obsessed with it!
I loved those fables too.
I still refer to some of them in conversations.
So interesting. Fable has a well rounded schedule. Great work with her.
The way she makes her head fluffy is so cute!
The 3 dislikes are the people who were tryna say fable should be free
She's just absolutely FABULOUS!
She's funny, smart and has lots of personality and really likes to play with you...
Yeah but what about the bird?
I'm so happy I found you! I am greatly enjoying your channel and am learning so much! Thank you!
I love ravens and Fable is beautiful!
Bird flu still exists. It is brought to the UK every winter with the migration.
Fable does not like crows and shouts at them!
@@cheesenipspartymix also corvids and parrots are social animals.. They go back to their group/flock/mate..
West Nile Flu

Corvids are a favorite of mine. I love your videos and watching Fable. What a beautiful bird and a beautiful thing to spend your time doing
"Boop boop, mwah!" ☺️🖤
Amazing. People have so much negativity when they dont know the first thing about birds. Long time parrot "wrangler" here. Wrangler, companion, handler... never "owner." My relationship w my cockatoo is negotiated and nurtured daily. Thank you so much for sharing Fable with us!!!
that's a big bird , seen a couple ravens myself in Belgium , some big , but this one ... wow
beautiful animal and impressive how it can mimic entire sentences
i can see that you care a lot about your animals , don't worry what people say in the comments
i prefer animals being in the wild , but some can't care for themselfs , like this one
it's nice to see that some people put their own time and money in to helping another animal
gonna watch some other clips now , glad i found your channel , keep it up !
Please be careful not to listen to the trolls. Anyone who gets a lot of views will eventually gat attacked by trolls and idiots. Just do you and ignore them. Thank you for sharing Fable with us.
What a beautiful creature, who is clearly happy and comfortable with her human.
I love Fable. I would like to live like a bird, and have someone concerned about me 24/7 just cause I'm a beautiful bird.
Thank you for your dedication and affection!
She’s a very cute raven, I am currently working on a school project and I’m studying ravens!
Why is a raven like a writing desk?
Louis Stubbolo, I don’t know, why is a raven like a writing desk?
I love and respect you so freaking much!!!!! Thank you deeply for being so understanding and blessed to have the heart to give these babies your time!! I wish I could work with you!!! I'd give 24/7 to help!!
Imagine how it was for humans when they first discovered birds can talk
must have thought the bird was a witch in disguise or something
Glad Tidings I guarantee humans have killed birds thinking they’re witches
vikings thought they were messengers of Odin likely this talking was part of it.
WOH!!! - haha the noises are hilarious!
Thanks for showing us this lovely and fascinating raven! It looks s great to see and hear about her and the wonderful work you do!
Corbin’s are so interesting to me!!!
As someone who knows nothing about falconry, I just want to say sorry for all the stupid and offensive questions and comments you get!! Great video.
I’m late to the Fable party and loving having found you and her! As a mom, I can’t help but notice this is a more seriously-toned video and she’s nearly totally quiet as compared with your other videos, just like my kids when they are hearing me having a serious conversation. Like, “Wow, mom is using her serious voice, how interesting!” It’s very obvious how much you love each other and it’s a joy to watch your videos!
0:57 We are losing her head, Fable: "Oh sorry, I'll come down."
Haha, this bird is so funny - love it! Can you tell me more about what she likes to steal and hide after her flying free outside?;)
I had a book in my childhood about a little girl and a raven - thats when my love for these creatures started.. Alas, I have never met one in real life so far...
People say terrible things!
I love your bond with Fable.
She is a real live wire!
Love, Love... Your amazing !! Thank you for the education and Fable is lovely bird!
What sort of things does Fable steal? Does she have her own little dragon hoard?
omg dragon hoard. 😭 so cute.
Dinosaur hoard.
I think what you are doing is great. Thank you for taking the time to share with us. I wish people weren't so eager to be angry about things they don't fully understand.
You are fantastic! Thank you for caring so much about birds!!
Andy.
I love Fable. She is a real character.
Hi! Can we see the video of her flying & talking!? Also, we can we see what she likes 2 eat!? Thanks!😍😘😘
Fable was really blowing those kisses! What a sweetheart, the affection she shows you.
I love your post and I totally and completely understand and agree with your way of caring for your birds. It is the way. Best to you.
These birds are just brilliant. They really can problem solve some very complex tasks. Great channel
Thanks for your work
Denis
