No, they just wanted to f up his character so rehnerya looks better, read the books he's actually very smart in the riverlands and wins the houses to his side.
I dont think anyone was expecting Ser Oscar to own Daemon here, he was so meek and timid in his first appearance, but i think Oscar was completely put off by Daemon suggesting he Kills his grandfather, House Tully’s motto is Family, Duty, Honour. Daemon insulted his family, So Oscar had to reclaim his Honour as Lord of the Riverlands, and perform his duty of Justice making Daemon do it as a reminder, that this situation, is entirely his fault.
Daemon kinda reminds me of cercei slightly. His plans always get way out of hand and backfire in some way. The whole blood and cheese fiasco is proof of this and now this scene… and it seems to be he’s realising this and won’t want to be king anymore.
@@eduardosr9859he literally did though. Did you forget his conversation with Alys Rivers? She literally scolded him for what he did and he laughed it off

Most minor houses outside the Crownland are more loyal to their direct Lord Paramounts than to the Crown, so if any represantive of the King or even the King himself disrespected the Lord Paramount, good luck to the Crown to try to rally the lesser house to them. This is how feudalism works and how the Mad King met his end. In other word, Oscar's disrespect comes with the Riverlords' allegiances, so Daemon either take it or leave it.
I love Oscar Tully what a lad, grown men wouldn't have the guts to front up Daemon so publicly and remind him that he needs the support of and armies of the River lands more than they need him. I think he just earned Daemon's respect and his vassels respect with just a few words I hope we see more of him in season 3
0:31 I love how Oscar Tully openly admits his disdain for Daemon and condemns the chaos he caused in the Riverlands. The highlight of this scene was when Lord Tully forced Daemon to execute Willem Blackwood, to secure the military support he's been after since arriving at Harrenhal.
This is one of the best scenes of the season. Daemon been there too long and all but this was good stuff. Maybe needed to come a couple episodes earlier though.
Is that the same guy he grabs at 1:51, the same guy who refused to bend the knee to Daemon, then got flamed? Daemon remarked that he thought they wouldn't be so eager to die? Same guy?
@@brianwball40That very scene where Daemon and Willem are talking explains it. Daemon couldn’t kill them because he needed them for his army. So he orders Willem to ransack Bracken lands but he takes it overboard by slaughtering peasants and kidnapping children.
Oscar having the Blackwood killed by Daemon sends the political messages that the crown will use and disregard the lower lords as they see fit and that they serve the Tullys their liege lord first. It may also serve to check the power of the Blackwoods as a river lord under the Tullys suddenly gaining favor with the crown and invading neighboring lands is a massive threat to those currently in power.
It's a painful lesson for daemon or anybody who tries to grab what he can not reach. The best for daemon would have to have the convention left to Tully and the houses and have the oath only from tully himself in private.
I love Oscar Tully what a lad, not many people have the balls to front up Daemon Targaryen so publicly and live to tell the tale not mention reminding him that he needs the support of and army of the Riverlands more than they need him. I think Oscar Tully just earned Daemon's respect and that of his vassels I hope we see more of him in season 3
Daemon "The Throatsplitter" Targaryen A fitting nickname considering he has cut the throats of both a Blackwood attack dog AND the baby prince within the Red keep!
People hating on this storyline while it's literally watching Daemons character development. I absolutely adore this show despite the worst parts of it.

Oscar just mogged Daemon. This boy is killing this role
he bullied the bully
It’s a high EQ move how Oscar calls Daemon prince here in public even though he called Daemon king consort 1:1 in the previous scene.
Prince Consort is the correct term, so this would have made the river lords happy 😂
There was no better reality check for Daemon then being punked by a teenager
There's something so satisfying about seeing a dragon riding prince being forced to acknowledge his position of weakness.
No, they just wanted to f up his character so rehnerya looks better, read the books he's actually very smart in the riverlands and wins the houses to his side.

He seemed so timid, until it was his time
it wasn't timidity. it was deference to his grandfather.
Kind of sucks for Willem to be executed by Daemon for something he ordered
The thing is… he didn’t ordered all the atrocities, that was on Willeim, and that got him killed

@wintergreen2.073 the exact orders were very vague, though. Getting to the outcome he interpreted to some.... wanting, for it.

This is the greatest example I've ever seen of eyes/glances clearly showing the thoughts of each character
Now he might realise how viserys defended himself from even worse humiliations all the time
Oscar is as good as Vhagar at humbling dragons
Oscar was raised right , and very much prepared for his role as badass river lord
this boy has me clutching my imaginary pearls...
Even when Daemon is having the Mother Of All Bad Days _ he still sure-as-hell knows how to flourish a sword!! ⚔️😉
Oscar Tully, The Trout that put a Dragon in his place.
I’m sorry I didn’t realize this boy’s real sigil was giant brass fucking balls 😂
Oscar won the respect of his banners and outplayed Daemon and brought him to heel all in about 4 minutes.
It's a wonder how Lord Oscar was able to make the trek to Harrenhal while carrying his massive balls of steel

1:13 that sideeye when daemon got some shade 😆🤣
When Daemon tried to be threatening and the Riverlords tensed up, I think the Rogue Prince realized that Caraxes was too far away to save his neck.

Yes, it's the lord of house Bracken.

Willem killed an adult man.
Now Willem is adult and he died because of a kid.
What a karma.
