yes. I feel bad for alicent and her kids, how he treated them shaped who she was, which in turn shaped who they were. and viserys is to blame also. why did he have kids with here in the first place? he raised rhaenyra and then checked out of his other children's lives. yeh he was sick and bed ridden for most their lives. it didn't stop him from loving and standing up for rhaenyra however, even at his death door. he simply did not love his other children enough to try, if at all.
I also like how they're taking a different approach than Joffrey. Joffrey is established to be an inherently incompetent idiot on top of Cersei raising him to be a sadistic psychopath. Aegon on the other hand was just ignored and so is less of a nutjob but still just as horrible given his behaviour was never punished and so he kept getting worse (and is no longer young enough to just blame his parents). And Aegon doesn't do horrible things to hurt others (until the war). He's not sadistic, he just doesn't care. Again just as bad, but it makes him different to Joffrey. And you can see that while Aegon is impulsive and naive, unlike Joffrey he's not outright stupid. I mostly side with her, but she feels like a cardboard cutout of her younger self, like Aegon was a dick but at east he was entertaining. I don't mind Daemon's plot cause I frankly hate him and in Harrenhal he is at least not being extremely obnoxious. His vision's also give a better understanding of the character.

he is a rapist, very dislikable trait. I read on another comment they made that up for the show though. the character is more interesting as somewhat pitiable rather than outright hateable
@@ceb0lla904 Yeah, the rape was terrible, but it was one of his few sins in the show. Daemon is far worse, and I rarely see anyone talking about it, dude brought a teenager to a brothel, killed his wife, and ordered the death of a baby. His laugh when he catches Aemond, the best. Loved the video, say what you want, but Aegon's character has been way more interesting that Rhaenyra's this season. Mix this with his teen scenes from S01E6 and 07 and you have the biggest comedian of the show.
LotR-esque medieval movies always make council meetings sound engrossing, but Aegon shows that they're just those in-person meetings that could have been an email.
haven't watched the show yet, but for monarchic standards he seems to be a good king, loyal praetorians, keeps his advisors in check, is a crowd pleaser (which might be seen as week, but kings who know how to appease their people through bread and games usually reign the longest)
By monarchal standards? You realise that monarchs are statistically better than other forms of choosing a leader. Even the biggest scholarly advocates for republics admit this, the problem with monarchy is not that it has a worse average leader, it's that you are stuck with bloody methods to get rid of the less likely but still a problem bad leaders.
It would have been so easy to create a Joffrey but slightly older. But Aegon isn't a bad person, doesn't initially even want the crown and then decides to give it his best shot despite the lack of guidance. His entire reign is pure trial and error.
Tom Glynn-Carney did a magnificent job in the first 4 episodes. I hate Aegon, but it's sad to see him in....the state he's in now. We'll miss the humor he brought this season!
I like to think Aegon trying to get Tyland to give a 'Pony Ride' is a reference to the deep cut fan theory about Tyrek Lannister animorphing into a horse and disappearing in 'A Storm of Swords' lol
I actually loved him in the scene where he is on the throne trying to attend to his subjects' needs, he seems very generous, I almost forgot all the other horrible things he's done.

2:58 😂 he’s like, “uhhh grandaddy Otto, can you please move? I’m trying to return this guy’s goats…. errr I mean sheep. He needs them for the winter” 😂
The man who never wanted to be King but just wanted to have fun, pushed to ruin by his own power-hungry mother and grandfather. A comedic but tragic character.
Him and young aegon are both a riot 😂
Poor young Aegon got slapped because he wasn't watching over his brother 😂😂😂😂
If you'd told me Aegon II would be the comic relief of the show, just from the book, I never would have believed you, but here we are 😂
The closest we got to book Aegon when he was destroying Vizzy's lego Valyria
he was actually a good dad to his kids, he was just was missing support and love from his own mother.
wut? please don't have kids you'll clearly loose track of how many you have.
A good dad to Jaehaerys. Not to his many bastard children he just left in the streets to rot in squalor...
@@ameliainazawa1166 yeah but thats normal for a king
@@HisameArtwork XD lel. y'all I didnt know he had bastard kids man. At least to Jaehaerys he is a good dad yea. points for that.
Well, not to ALL of his kids...
Aegon being an evil jack sparrow when bursting in the brothel
0:04 Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle
You had me dying of laughter with this one 🤣
Aegon would of been healthier an more happy if he was the second son i bet
@markusfrancis7525 No, because second sons (Aemond, Otto, and Daemon) have to WORK and, sometimes, STUDY; I like Aegon 2 but he's indolent. Otto, Cole, and Alicent should have left him be a prince and threw support for Rhaenyra instead!
Aegon and Aemond were born in the wrong order.
@@hydromancer4916 TRUE
@@hydromancer4916 Ummm....if Aemond wasn't bullied......would he have empathy for people especially the small folk?????
0:19 the way he says 'ohh' is just so funny for some reason
He will have greatest comeback of century if show follows the books
Even tho he is crippled now, his scenes in ep 5 and ep 6 were still the most interesting ones 💀
The supremacy of Aegon
Team Green is carrying this show
@@owenbridgersaccurate the only one in team green thats lame is alicent the rest gold fucking GOLD
@@JammesJack-td6gvyeah 😂😂 get everyone off this show.... we only want Daemon The Hallucinator , Aegon The Magnanimous Dragonc*ck and Ulf The Dragonlord
@@nicksmithnutmilkdaemon the hallucinator lmao
0:41 😂 I started to like him when I saw this and he’s so good with his son
Aegon may have been a drunken fool but wasn't a cruel ruler
he was not fool he was good politic in books and it was obvious in show just now we see if they all listen to Aegon war would be over
Aegon is truly carrying season 2 and has the best character development. Love you so much, rightful kingie 💚💚💚
Such charisma ❤❤ and humor of delivery and face/body language
Need more of him.
Honestly, the showwriters should focus on the 'next gen'/ the younger characters. Rhaenyra, alicent and daemon dont do much for a little while, but they still get empty screentime
They should give more screen time to aegon, aemond, jace, baela, daeron, etc etc
“Oh. I had them hanged” lol it’s like him and ser criston smoked the biggest blunt in all the realms!
Tom’s laugh at 2:44 😂😂
It had me rolling on the floor especially when he barked😂😂😂😂
They are trying to make my boy Aegon the worst possible person in Westeros but they still cannot make me root for boring and extra nice- extra righteous Rhaenyra. I even started to hate her character and this didn’t happen when I read the books… ❗️
his laugh is iconic I love this man
2:10 how Aegon silence his people meanwhile Rhaenyra slap them to silence them
Aegon II, the rightful king.
Anyone else going to miss him as king and feels we didn't get enough content of it?
Don't worry he'll be back...
“Aegon the strong”
“No that’s already taken by my nephew”
2:12 Aegon is not impressed 😅😂
I mean, these guys aren't exactly friends of his anymore. They're pretty much employees now. And Aegon seems to be the type to ensure his kingsguard hold true to their vows.
You left out the best line.
“The Queen is an enduring mystery, is she not?”
what's funny is that poor dude could been a decent king if not for the people around him
His Grace bout to make turn me Team Green single-handedly lol. And knowing he does later is going make him one of the biggest trolls in Westeros haha
“Oh, I had them hanged.” His demeanor really reminds me of a loopy Johnny Depp character. If Johnny Depp isn’t an inspiration to him I’ll be very surprised.
I simply don't see the monster that everyone is talking about.
They were even comparing Aegon to Joffrey, c'mon...
He's just a dumb, immature guy, raised in a shitty family and he didn't even want the crown.
btw Tom is incredible, he has been the surprise of this season.
he is a rapist, very dislikable trait.
My point is, there is no "monster" in this show, Aegon, Daemon, Aemond, Otto, they're all grey characters, not black and white... Rhaenyra is supposed to be grey too, but it seems that in the show this has been changing since the runners are clearly team black.
@@tiagomacri3537 also Rhaenys killing civilians for no reason. It's on theme they are all grey characters, but the black biased narrative does disregard some crimes and makes others seem worse. Rhaenyra is boring af especially when you have Aegon to compare her to. I agree Tom's performance was the surprise of this season
@@ceb0lla904 So was Robert Baratheon but fans love him. Also the whole rape thing was added in for the show to make you hate him more.
There tons of differences between Aegon and Joffery.
He's such a cutie pie❤❤❤ what a baby. He's my fav
genuinely my favourite character this season so far
You missed when harrnehal gets taken and he’s like “ITS YOUR FUCKING CASTLE”
hell yea that’s the one lmao
If they made the show all about the Greens, it would have better much better.
Agreed
He's gonna be something else if he recovers enough from being Kentucky Fried.
Yes he is, he is a major player besides Rhaenyra
@@Mmm-nj5dkTbh Rhaenyra doesn't do much. Aegon on the other hand...
@@Mmm-nj5dk Book Rhaenyra? Yes. Even if she doesn't do anything in there. At least she's interesting enough. Show-Rhaenyra is an absolute one-dimensional clown, can't stand her. She's Condal's creature, not GRRM's.
@@Mmm-nj5dkRhaenyra doesn't do anything except talking and then becoming food
@@nicksmithnutmilk Yeah IK! I was just pointing out the actual 2 people fighting for the throne.
Showing one or 2 people's faces on the poster is misleading..... if they want to show somebody then he should be on the poster next to Rhaenyra, but the woke showrunners are ruining things.
You really missed out his two funniest lines though.
1) when he shouted to Larys “it’s your fucking castle”
2) “Dragoncock” “the untameable beast”
Aegon and Aemon carried this season
ITS YOUR FUCKING CASTLE
His laugh when he catches Aemond, the best. Loved the video, say what you want, but Aegon's character has been way more interesting that Rhaenyra's this season. Mix this with his teen scenes from S01E6 and 07 and you have the biggest comedian of the show.
LotR-esque medieval movies always make council meetings sound engrossing, but Aegon shows that they're just those in-person meetings that could have been an email.
ttbh Aegon is the realm's delight
*cough* *cough* s2 finale
Aegon Dragoncock will be my next Skyrim character.
😂😂
Aegon Crispycock more like it
'I'm afraid' 'dont be' 😂😂
"They won't know"... o_o hahaha love him
Aegon and Otto carried S2 so far. (Tbf rhaenys had her Moment too)
haven't watched the show yet, but for monarchic standards he seems to be a good king, loyal praetorians, keeps his advisors in check, is a crowd pleaser (which might be seen as week, but kings who know how to appease their people through bread and games usually reign the longest)
Another interesting fact is he didn't want the position
By monarchal standards? You realise that monarchs are statistically better than other forms of choosing a leader. Even the biggest scholarly advocates for republics admit this, the problem with monarchy is not that it has a worse average leader, it's that you are stuck with bloody methods to get rid of the less likely but still a problem bad leaders.
Every joke of his lands. He’s so good at stand up he could never crash and burn.
His laugh is way too contagious. 💀
The way I giggle everytime he gives a deadpan 'Im done' look 😂
He was def the highlight of season 2 lol
I hope HBO will cast him in a dark comedy show or smn.
It would have been so easy to create a Joffrey but slightly older. But Aegon isn't a bad person, doesn't initially even want the crown and then decides to give it his best shot despite the lack of guidance. His entire reign is pure trial and error.
I’m team Black all the way but I LOVE Helaena and Aegon is comedic gold 😂
Aegon was easily my favorite part of the series. Tom was great!
Tom Glynn-Carney did a magnificent job in the first 4 episodes. I hate Aegon, but it's sad to see him in....the state he's in now. We'll miss the humor he brought this season!
One thing’s for sure, he loved his son
“The queen, ever the enduring mystery.”
Aegon so cute
I like to think Aegon trying to get Tyland to give a 'Pony Ride' is a reference to the deep cut fan theory about Tyrek Lannister animorphing into a horse and disappearing in 'A Storm of Swords' lol
god eyes and good catch!
Probably the best character in the whole show
"They wont know..." as if that peasant wouldn't shout from the rooftops how generous and great Aegon was
I actually loved him in the scene where he is on the throne trying to attend to his subjects' needs, he seems very generous, I almost forgot all the other horrible things he's done.
Aegon is such a likable character. The actor who played him deserves emmys.
" I'm afraid "
" Dont be 😁 "
Just hope the show does he and our golden boy justice.
Don't bother hoping. Condom hates Aegon and he's a biased Rhaenyra simp. Portraying the greens fairly would kill him.
Don’t think so
@@finxw9374it did
All of the acting on this show is phenominal. Somehow Aegon, the horrible rapist has become a lovable sad boy. Tom Glynn Carney is amazing. Going from one extreme to another. Love him.
His facial expressions are top tier.
Tom and the actor who plays Larys Strong have been the mvp of the series hands down 👏🏼
he will come back like wound lion, no one can stop him
3:36... amazing!
He was our paddy (viserys) this season 😢
No wonder Aegon is sassy. He takes after viserys 😂😂😂😂
They will never make me hate you AeGOAT
I never thought I'd say this, but it's so much more fun when it's Aegon on screen than when it's Rhaenyra..
the "i'm afraid" "don't be" interaction has the same energy as telling someone "i'm depressed" and they reply with "well don't be." 😀
Aegon really stood out this season I did not even give him a second thought in the 1st season amazing actor.
