What's hilarious is that these two are the only kick pedals that I own. The Alesis came with an e-kit, and I bought a DW 9000 with an extended footboard for my acoustic kit. For me it was worth the price.

@@just.because.why.not. what a coincidence and totally! took a little while to get used to the 9000 BUT now it’s golden gear 🥁🤘maybe we even have the same acoustic kit lol

I’ve played on an old school Iron Cobra for over 20 years now… man I feel old! I enjoyed this video. I can’t believe I haven’t put more consideration into a higher quality pedal. I suppose it’s just that I’ve grown accustomed to what I have and I’ve never played on anything better. How big is the difference between Iron Cobra and the DW 9000? I wish I could play on one because that sure is a jump in price.

that's cool! 👌can't believe your Cobra has lasted such a long time.
to be honest, Iron Cobra and DW 9000 are both high-end pedals, so asides from the obvious, the main difference will be in the cost for most drummers❗BUT ❗I am getting the Iron Cobra Power Glide Double-Pedal next week (SHHH), so when I get a chance I'll do another comparison video.

if you cant afford a pro pedal change the bearings in the budget pedal until you can buy what you want. personally i dont like DW or Axis pedals. DW youre paying for a name. i like the Pearl Eliminator. hell, i like a speed king over the 2 i mentioned

nice suggestion! Yes, I've been thinking to get a in-the-middle pedal like Pearl Eliminator. Never tried speed king. What's special about the Speed King, let's say, if you were to compare it to the Eliminator?

This is exactly what I have done to my iron cobras.
Changed to full ceramic bearings and they are super smooth now.
Btw, the budget pedal still should move a little more than that, please lubricate the bearings and moving parts with wd40 to give back some life to it.

@@harrybonedrumsits just the first pedal i got that i liked. I used one a long time, but ive been playing 50+ years. It was more like a direct drive pedal, no strap or chain. i wouldnt recommend WD 40 on bearings it will gum up over time, you might try a silicone spray and sometimes they are closed bearings and you can't really effectively do anything except change them out. it take a little time to do it but it would be worth it. these are just my opinions. like i said it's a matter of personal preference.

@@harrybonedrumsI can't compare to to the Eliminator, the Eliminator comes with different cams , it has far more adjustments for "feel". Pedals are a matter of preference, what you consider a pro pedal some may not like and what you consider an in the middle pedal may feel much better to others than a pro pedal. I never considered the Eliminator 2000 an in the middle pedal.
