I love just using mascara on the top lashes. My eyes are very almond, narrow, and upturned, and I find this is the most flattering mascara application for my eye shape. I love seeing this on all eye shapes.

I took several Lisa Eldridge eye shadows, repotted 2 of my fave blushes into some LE tins, and viola, a face palette I actually use. The more I see what's happening in makeup now, the more I see the everyday wearable 70s looks that 90s makeup referenced. I'm up for a touch of frost for sure, but for brown I'm trying out the new version of KVD's Lolita, now called Queen of Poisons, more of a rosy brown.
I am also oily! I do "dewy all over" by about 1 or 2pm, whether I want to or not. I appreciate that it's trending because THAT'S MY LOOK!! Seriously though, I like the interpretation of dusting with a highlighter vs. priming with a glowy primer and setting with a glowy spray. I would be SWIMMING.
When you put the frosty topper on the brown lipstick I was transported back to high school in 1995. It looked just like my beloved Revlon Coffee Bean. Unfortunately the grey undertone made me look like a corpse lol It suits your muted coloring but it was so wrong on me with my fair peachy warm skin ❤ Fun video!

Just wanna say how much i appreciate that you make a point of including diverse bodies in your photo examples!!! Even though they're all makeup and body size doesn't really make much of a difference (the exact reason ppl use as an excuse for NOT featuring body diversity), it makes a difference as a fat person watching - it feels so good to see myself reflected and therefore respected. I know it must have been purposeful because otherwise people with larger bodies are just inherently excluded. This is exactly how small bodied folks can promote body inclusivity without making a huge deal like LOOK HOW PROGRESSIVE I AM FOR INCLUDING FAT PEOPLE. I really really appreciate this Hannah 🙏🏻

Not saying get them, but if anyone wants a couple of frosty lip colors that don't cost much, there's L'Oreal Colour Riche Mica (620) and Silverstone (760.) Zuzu Luxe (Gabriel Cosmetics) has some fun frosty lip hues as well. A few I have are the lipsticks Sazerac, and Temptress (almost a pearly metallic,) as well as the gloss Tempest. I have some muted metallics, perhaps even pearly, by them that border on frosty, but have more punches of colored metallic frost. Those are the lipsticks Siren, and Sin, the gloss Mischief. I still long for the Colour Riche lipsticks Sealily, and Seafleur. They, along with Mica, Silverstone, and Revlon Iced Mocha (315) were adolescent favs. There were some others in that price range that I liked, but I'm having a brainfart on the names. I'm still eyeballing that gucci lipstick, wondering if I ought to give it a go. Finding something that looks wet on my 55yo uber-dry face is a trick. Out of the trends you shared, the wet look, brown lips, and frosts, appeal. Thanks HLP!

Hannah! I’m also a pale, muted olive. I’ve been on the hunt for some time for a TRULY barely there blush, as most blush shades are either too dark or too saturated. Of all things, MAC lipstick in Blankety is the ticket! Merit Millenial is also very nice, though it leans more pink and slightly more saturated.
For a 90's brown lip that includes the frosted trend, try Revlon super lustrous lipstick in coffee bean (pearl). I loved it in the 90s and still love it today!

Ok, when you started to talk about the 90s brown lip, I had to hit pause and immediately shop my stash for a brown lip to wear. All I could find was Urban Decay’s Amulet-and I loved it! But I was disappointed because it was a bit frosty. The look was redeemed when you put a frosty layer over your gorgeous Merit 1990! I was on trend by the end of the video 😂. Love Amulet 👍
Hannah, a lip rec for you: Nyx Butter Gloss in Cinnamon Roll. Maybe you’ve already tried it, but it’s a lovely cool-toned brown that sort of goes mauve on my lips but I think it would look splendid on you!
What you were saying about not opening and using the one thing you love in a palette is why I just depotted everything. That way all my favorites are in one place and I actually use them consistently.
I just have a little bit of a suggestion that I actually thought of because of you! I have a very similar skin tone to you but maybe a smidge darker (not by very much), and started to mix the exa green color corrector into foundation that are really light, but just a little to pink toned or peach for me. It really helped with getting a correct shade match but also a formula I really like!
I had no idea about the frosted trend, but I’ve been adding a touch of the silver from the Byredo Remembrance palette to almost every eye look I’ve done lately! And, as always, thank you for a variety of models when showing examples of the trends! ❤
This is such a fun video! I really love the dewy everywhere… I can put on my spf and just wear IT 😅. I use the Vanicream spf 30 miners sunscreen (truly sheer!) and love the glow and brightness it gives my skin. It makes an excellent base. I am currently mixing a couple of lipsticks for that perfect-for-me 90’s brown lip color, but would really like to find one that is one and done… I’m most comfortable with a Rosey brown color rather than a true brown. It’s a modern take I think too. But the pearlized lipsticks are great for the frosty trend while still being wearable everyday! Love this content! Edit to add: I love the sustainable approach you have to clothing and makeup; thoughtful consumerism. I appreciate you sharing with us too the thought process and having an healthy outlet by using and cycling through what you already have. I’ve been doing this too with my much smaller stash, as I’m not an influencer or make videos. It’s been incredibly satisfying and I don’t have the urge to shop as much. When I do… I open up my bag of things and look through, pull out an item I am thinking about such as a concealer or cream eyeshadow, and use it for awhile. I am actually making my way though using makeup up which is a cherry on top to it all!
Interesting. I never wear mascara on my bottom lashes. It always seems to smear or is too clumpy because my lashes down there are short and sparse. The monochrome lid I’m into thanks to Violette. I just got her new lilac matte shadow and I cannot wait to use it. The skin reminds me of glass skin.
Shopping your stash is such a good way to rediscover makeup gems that you might have forgotten about or felt "meh" about when you first used. When cream blush & bronzer became trendy again about 2 years ago, I picked up a few lower priced "dupes" to test out whether I preferred cream products to powder. At the time (height of the pandemic & mask wearing) I did not. But I've been using concealer as my only base product lately & I pulled out the cream blushes/ bronzers I had put away instead of decluttering, & to my surprise I really like them & how my skin looks. I've also found that I really like how my mineral spf cancels redness & evens out my skin. It is an amazing primer as well as spf. Cream/liquid products layer beautifully over it. I think most of us makeup enthusiasts have more makeup than we could ever use up in a lifetime. Shopping your stash makes more sense than buying new versions of what you probably already own.
It’s always better to shop your stash than rush out to buy the latest trend. You are working with things you know but it’s important to look at yourself with fresh eyes. Dewy with a touch of multi chrome frost is probably going to be my picks for the season. The brown lipstick isn’t much of a stretch for me.
I'm not doing the blush and I'm not doing the frosting, but I'm down for all the rest! I've already been doing a brown lip and highlighting like crazy. I picked up a bunch of colorful eyeliners, but I've had trouble working them into my day. I do think, though, this look would look great with a lavender pop in the inner corner! I feel like the color pop and the frosty look are cousins. Something incongruous that stands out against your skin tone. It would be hard to carry off both simultaneously.

I recently did a declutter and reorganize of my collection, and have been enjoying revisiting some of my old favorites that I haven’t used (in the same way you described in this video). I’m excited about the strong blush trend…I think it’s great for summer when my face gets pink/red anyway!

Frugal frosted lippies - check your grocery store/drug store for cover girl clearance - the exhibitionist creme in 410 ravishing rose is actually a lovely frosted rich pink that is way too frosty on my lips if applied full strength, but dabbed on, it's a beautiful lip topper, highlighter, and blush. Not bad for $3.50.
Love the look, the thumbnail is amazing! My summer “trend” is ignoring my palettes in favour of Wetnwild Brûlée single cream matte and my favourite bronzer Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow. I’d use the highlighter side of CT except it itches on my lids. Instead I scribble a little Bobbi Brown Rose Gold eyeshadow pencil and call it done.

The first eye liners I've felt comfortable wearing are pastel purple and olivey green, pops of color! Who knew that I was actually being trendy?

Have you considered Lisa Eldridge’s Velvet Decade for a 90’s brown? It’s a very nuanced color that seems very you. The gloss version is also great.

What you were saying about not opening and using the one thing you love in a palette is why I just depotted everything. That way all my favorites are in one place and I actually use them consistently.
I just have a little bit of a suggestion that I actually thought of because of you! I have a very similar skin tone to you but maybe a smidge darker (not by very much), and started to mix the exa green color corrector into foundation that are really light, but just a little to pink toned or peach for me. It really helped with getting a correct shade match but also a formula I really like!
I had no idea about the frosted trend, but I’ve been adding a touch of the silver from the Byredo Remembrance palette to almost every eye look I’ve done lately!

This is such a fun video! I really love the dewy everywhere… I can put on my spf and just wear IT 😅. I use the Vanicream spf 30 miners sunscreen (truly sheer!) and love the glow and brightness it gives my skin. It makes an excellent base. I am currently mixing a couple of lipsticks for that perfect-for-me 90’s brown lip color, but would really like to find one that is one and done… I’m most comfortable with a Rosey brown color rather than a true brown. It’s a modern take I think too. But the pearlized lipsticks are great for the frosty trend while still being wearable everyday! Love this content!
Edit to add: I love the sustainable approach you have to clothing and makeup; thoughtful consumerism. I appreciate you sharing with us too the thought process and having an healthy outlet by using and cycling through what you already have. I’ve been doing this too with my much smaller stash, as I’m not an influencer or make videos. It’s been incredibly satisfying and I don’t have the urge to shop as much. When I do… I open up my bag of things and look through, pull out an item I am thinking about such as a concealer or cream eyeshadow, and use it for awhile. I am actually making my way though using makeup up which is a cherry on top to it all!
Interesting. I never wear mascara on my bottom lashes. It always seems to smear or is too clumpy because my lashes down there are short and sparse.
The monochrome lid I’m into thanks to Violette. I just got her new lilac matte shadow and I cannot wait to use it.

Shopping your stash is such a good way to rediscover makeup gems that you might have forgotten about or felt "meh" about when you first used. When cream blush & bronzer became trendy again about 2 years ago, I picked up a few lower priced "dupes" to test out whether I preferred cream products to powder. At the time (height of the pandemic & mask wearing) I did not. But I've been using concealer as my only base product lately & I pulled out the cream blushes/ bronzers I had put away instead of decluttering, & to my surprise I really like them & how my skin looks. I've also found that I really like how my mineral spf cancels redness & evens out my skin. It is an amazing primer as well as spf. Cream/liquid products layer beautifully over it. I think most of us makeup enthusiasts have more makeup than we could ever use up in a lifetime. Shopping your stash makes more sense than buying new versions of what you probably already own.
It’s always better to shop your stash than rush out to buy the latest trend. You are working with things you know but it’s important to look at yourself with fresh eyes. Dewy with a touch of multi chrome frost is probably going to be my picks for the season. The brown lipstick isn’t much of a stretch for me.
I'm not doing the blush and I'm not doing the frosting, but I'm down for all the rest! I've already been doing a brown lip and highlighting like crazy. I picked up a bunch of colorful eyeliners, but I've had trouble working them into my day. I do think, though, this look would look great with a lavender pop in the inner corner!
I feel like the color pop and the frosty look are cousins. Something incongruous that stands out against your skin tone. It would be hard to carry off both simultaneously.
Definitely love that overall look you pulled off! I think I liked the brown lipstick on its own better than frosted but the cheek frosting was special! It is like the frosting really took it stellar! Looking forward to the next videos! I do love the "shop your stashes"... thank you. xo J
Love your videos. I watch them because I always learn something from you. I’m a golden skin person (new to makeup) and need lipstick that leans orange but the ones I try often look pink on me. Can you suggest anything for me, and/or someone making videos for my skin type. ❤

I recently did a declutter and reorganize of my collection, and have been enjoying revisiting some of my old favorites that I haven’t used (in the same way you described in this video). I’m excited about the strong blush trend…I think it’s great for summer when my face gets pink/red anyway!

I bought Merit blush balm in Beverly Hills, and I used it according to the new trend last night. I didn't know it was trending. Apparently, I'm in touch with the people! :)
Frugal frosted lippies - check your grocery store/drug store for cover girl clearance - the exhibitionist creme in 410 ravishing rose is actually a lovely frosted rich pink that is way too frosty on my lips if applied full strength, but dabbed on, it's a beautiful lip topper, highlighter, and blush. Not bad for $3.50.
Love the look, the thumbnail is amazing! My summer “trend” is ignoring my palettes in favour of Wetnwild Brûlée single cream matte and my favourite bronzer Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow. I’d use the highlighter side of CT except it itches on my lids. Instead I scribble a little Bobbi Brown Rose Gold eyeshadow pencil and call it done.
