re: the title, Joe consistently calls Charlotte Tilbury "Charlotte Tilsberry," so this was my working title and I just had to keep it. But actually through the process of editing and finishing this video he's just been calling it "Tilsberry makeup" (as in, “I have a question about this shade of Tilsberry makeup. What do you call it? Pink Bubble?” ...he meant Pillow Talk) and as the days have worn on he's gotten more and more indignant and confused about the naming, categorization and website organization of Charlotte Tilbury, giving rise to some truly iconic rants which I would give anything to have gotten on camera. I told him he could be TikTok famous if he would just let me record and he declined.

I've never tried the brown mascara by CT but I love the color "Burgundy" in the Voluminous line by L'oreal because it turns my lashes into a soft haze rather than being ultra-defining.

My daughter and I have VERY different skin tones. It’s winter here in Aus and she has translucent blue/white skin when mine is yellow/green. On her, Pillowtalk lipstick was strawberry pink and creamsicle orange on me. It didn’t flatter either of us (both blonde) so I imagine CT has designed this for herself.

I'm glad to see another one of my fair olive people wearing pillow talk on the Lips. I have the original lipstick in pillow talk myself and I was going crazy finding that this color on me was borderline "coral-ish" on me ! I know I have olive undertone and I'm pale so everything turns orange on me . Especially for the lips. I often wear a cooler toned lip liner to ground colours like this. I especially love NYX nude beige lip liner. But anyways... how wild ! How wild a colour marketed as " your lips but better pinky mauve " can look like this on us ! I would love for a video where you show some lip products that can achieve that pillow talk look "my lips but better" shade like this but working for us pale olives ! It's a constant struggle for me. I often opt out for a sheer lip most of the time because of it. A subtle undertone mismatch in a pigmented lip colour and my lips take over the whole look, but in a bad way.... tell me I'm not the only one ? 🤷‍♀️😅

I’m light-medium with an olive undertone. All of these brand staple “nude lips / your lips but better” look strangely like peach/coral or baby pink concealer lips on me, I hate all of them. I usually need to go for a pinker/mauvier darker shade than whatever the staple nude of a brand is.

Agree, on my fair olive skin it reads much more peach than pink. I do recall many of their "pinks" lean toward a very very warm peachy pink. Bitch Perfect was straight up 60's peach on me back in the day when I owned it.

I love your base makeup technique! It's pretty much what I've been doing recently. I'm just over the look of foundation, and want my skin to look as natural as possible, just a little healthier. The glowy base subtly blurs everything and evens it out, and spot concealing just where you need to is all I feel like doing anymore 😂. The tip about deliberately leaving some imperfections so the skin looks real makes so much sense! It's difficult to believe that just a few years ago it was popular to paint on new skin every single day.

In my mind, Charlotte Tillsberry (it's too perfect) is simply a color story where everything has a touch of rosy beige or beigey apricot. It just seems to be 500 product variations to deliver what has become a fairly generic look. I think they outdesigned themselves, their market leadership has become general aesthetic saturation. Also is it just me, or does the branding look more like faux posh dollar tree branding than actual luxury?

So many great products, I love this look on you! I will say that you are right about the Airbrush Flawless Lip Blur - the Pillow Talk shade is much warmer and more pink based in this product than the 'classic' Pillow Talk Lip colour is. I actually liked the lip blur more as it pulled a bit more pink, the classic Pillow Talk shade almost pulls more brown-y/mauve on me, which might be perfect for you!

When I first started to get into high end makeup, CT was on the top of my list. Everybody was raving about it. I COVETED pillow talk. But after watching a ton of reviews, I was convinced it would pull orange/coral on my washed out olive skin. So I bought Exagger-Eyes, convinced this would be a more nude/brown version of pillow talk. Only that it's STILL ORANGE. It's frustrating. I would honestly love to see you play around with it and see what you can get out of the quad - you're always such an inspiration! I have 2 CT products that are in my top 5 of makeup items that I would immediately repurchase, though. One is "Oyster Pearl" - the famous cream shadow. It's perfection! The other one is the Hollywood Flawless Eye Filter quad in "Star Aura". It's a boring palette to look at, but oh my - I think the packaging says it's like "lingerie for the eyes" and I've never heard a more perfect description. Smoothing, soft, shiny, sophisticated - it's my go-to-palette whenever I'm not looking for a dramatic eye look.

I've tried a number of CT products at this point, and Pillow Talk is usually my least favorite shade of whatever it is. The first time I tried the pillow talk lipstick I was SO disappointed 😭I'm very fair skinned but my lips are naturally super pigmented, and I found that pillow talk looked almost exactly like my lips but just... Off. Like I put nothing on but somehow it looked worse. I was excited by the air blur lippie bc I love a lot of the K beauty ones similar to that formula, but I agree the longevity isn't too great. The cream eyeshadows are so nice though, I love those.
OH AND THE MASCARA. I love that stuff. Especially Dream Pop. I have blonde hair/fair lashes and I find I can use the red mascara on no makeup days and it ends up looking super natural somehow. I never shut up about that mascara.

I appreciate what you said about pillow talk. Back in either 2018 or 2019 I saw the ads and the models and went oh my goodness I want to look like that. Those makeup colors are for me! I ordered the whole shebang. And I don't know if it was too bright pink or too orange, but oh my gosh I look horrible. The pillow talk quad, the pillow talk cheeks, the pillow talk lips, they all just did not work. I thought with my light skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair that I would be the perfect customer. What an incredibly expensive lesson for me. Now I stick to mostly to drug store experimentation. My biggest splurge and success story to date has been the Natasha Denona glam palette.

We’re similar skintones and idk if you’ve tried this, but the canmake mermaid uv sunscreen has a slight green tint and gives the same effect (at least on me)that you have w the colour correctors in the beginning. Plus it has uv protection and doesnt burn the eyes at all so I put it everywhere, and makes you super radiant but not greasy at all. I also use it on my chest and shoulders when wearing low cut tops and it’s stunning.

I also have super fair and desaturated skin, and I also find the Pillowtalk shade not as flattering, on the other hand, the Walk of no shame and Gracefully Pink are my favorite shades ever and I find them super flattering

That mascara is my no 1 favourite! It occasionally blasts random balls of sticky tar but even then it combs out nicely. I’m on my 5th tube of it.
I’m very fond of both exaggereyes and the PT quads. Plus PT lipstick and liner. Just easy and minimal.
I think I might save up for that palette you used. 3/4 of it looks like something I’d enjoy. Thanks Hannah!
Your experience with the PT powder blush is my feeling- sometimes it’s great, other times it’s suddenly too strong. I’m almost as pale as you.
The lip shade Pillow Talk is different in each lip product. It can pull very orange on pale people. That new version you wore isn’t one I want to buy.
The lip lustre gloss is closer to the actual lipstick. The lip liner is way more neutral and slightly more cool toned.

Thanks as always for the video!
Its kind of funny to me that the burgundy kinda mascaras are big now and L'Oreal has been doing it for years! They came out with several shades that complemyent eye colors back when I was in highschool.... Over a decade ago now 😢 and that's when I first fell in love because I too have green eyes. They also have a deep plum and that looks bomb with green eyes too lol. Maybe in the future when you need a new mascara you could do a comparison! Anyways, have a great day! Always love your videos

My husband calls her Charlotte Tilsbury too!! 😂😂😂😂 I laughed so hard when I read your title!
I actually like her big eyeshadow palettes much more than her quads, formula wise. I have the one you used and it’s great to take traveling because it’s light, very slim, and has a lot of variety.

I looooove the Auric Glow Lust and have been wearing it under tinted sunscreen all summer. A++ CT hasn't been a brand I've been eager to try. I think I'm just not their market base. Maybe I would try a lipstick or the eyeshadow quad.

The exagger-eyes range is great. The eye cream shadow is great and the little quad, I got a surprisingly large amount of use of them.
They accidentally became my everyday go to. That champagne liner would also be better as an inner water liner or for the tear duct - basically anywhere you want to brighten up.

I have a cool/neutral undertone, very fair, and pillow talk is my color. cT bronzers really work for me too. Pillow talk leans cool for me, but I have a lot of blue in my natural lip color. A color like Lorna Doon or A Royal Scandal makes me look dead. I have learned so much from Kackie about color theory, and how it all works!!!

This is weird, but might be all colour theory and texture. As you were finishing up your eyes after the mascara, I thought, «why am I thinking about Johnny Depp», and then googling his movie covers realizing that the eyes are a glam and beautiful version of his very exaggerated green/red makeup for Alice in Wonderland! I absolutely adore it! Art.

Agree 100% about pillow talk as a colour. It’s warm toned. I have a cool undertone and absolutely look ill in pillow talk. The Charlotte Tilbury brand fixation on releasing everything pillow talk makes me feel completely excluded and as if there’s nothing for me even if that’s not actually true.

Oooh fun 🤩 CT products make up about 70% of my core, day to day make up items. And my favourites are the eye products!
I don’t know if you’ve ever tried a CT eyeliner but I love them. I’d be interested to see a comparison of the CT eyeliners compared to the VB ones you love.
I too am a lighter olive and find pillow talk looks more orange than pink on me! I’m glad it’s not just me 😂 I do like the walk of shame as my “safe” red as it’s not a colour I find easy to wear.
She does have a couple of really creamy blushes in compacts I love but they only came in two colours 🤦‍♀️

Love the title and explanation of this video!! Hey, you are so good about decluttering; I was wondering if you have any suggestions on where to donate gently used makeup--meaning pressed powder products that have been opened and used like 5 times or less. When you influencers say you're going to "donate" your decluttered makeup, what do you do with it?? Unfortunately, I have only one friend who cares about makeup, and I don't want to overwhelm her with absolutely everything that didn't work for me. If it's not perfect for her, I'd rather do something else with it. 😀I checked Goodwill and the Salvation Army, and they don't accept makeup. Help!
