This video is giving me LIFE. I have totally lost my makeup mojo, but completely found my love for fashion again. Something I completely lost during the pandemic, I put on weight, I'm my own worst critic and I kept thinking I'm too old.. I'm not cool enough Blah blah. Since binging your fashion content and being inspired by your inclusive fashion examples....I really have found new courage! Before at work ( I was hiding in black trousers smart top boring combo) and I work in the office in a Clothing store!I've shopped my own wardrobe and started putting together combos I never dared before......My vintage Metal band Tshirts with a suit jacket and sneakers, floral dress with knit and DM boots .....I have really found my style again in the last weeks. Even wore the red lipstick!I have received sooo many compliments on my style! All without spending a penny. I'm not going to get younger or cooler so it's time to embrace what I have and just have fun with clothes. Thank you for the inspiration and keep the amazing content coming!❤

thank you for mentioning how tulle, satin, etc are pretty much always plastic and how that effects outfit-planning! it can be so hard to see beautiful pieces and know that, among other issues with plastic fibres, i'll just sweat right through them. I drool over so many velvet jackets and then they're always always 100% polyester

Teenage me had a really lovely cotton velveteen (I think) black jacket in the late 80s. It looked amazing but was so hard to keep looking nice - velvet needs to be de-linted throughout the day. I was chuckling at the street style, one outfit just looked like winter fashion here -a stylish outfit plus massive layers of warm stuff lol... I went thru an Annie hall phase in '90 but I just get too hot to wear sweaters and blazers together & whatnot

When i was about 20… (in 1989 ish) I bought a FABULOUS pair of navy blue silk chiffon palazzo pants with tiny gold sequins sitting them here and there like the night sky. They were 100% impractical and made no sense for my life. But i loved them. THANK YOU FOR INSPO PHOTOS OF ALL DIFFERENT KINDS OF BODIES!! It’s such a simple thing and you’d think in this day that would be more typical but I have struggled SO MUCH with searching for style inspo photos that aren’t 100% young, very thin, and majority white women, particularly on pinterest. I see plenty of clothes that look fabulous on those women but they don’t look like that on me….and I’m just a white middle-aged woman! That’s probably partly an ad/search targeting thing but still….I search with other terms and somehow within 2 pages or so it’s back to the exact same thing. I have a clothing mental block (I swear I have zero instinct for style) but seeing your collections of photos demonstrating styles on lots of different bodies, it’s like “Ah ha! I get it!”. ❤ Now I just need you to tackle a totally non-urban, outdoorsy middle aged cottage core x colorado mountain vibe closet 😂

95% of my wardrobe is thrifted. As a petite, (5'2 120lbs) fit and following the 1/3-2/3 rule has upped my style game. I keep a Pinterest fashion board as well for inspo. When I go thrifting, I keep "outfits" in mind. My style is soft natural mixed with classic and wee bit of romantic. I love tonal outfits and layering. I'm not a "capsule" wardrobe enthusiast, though one would see a running color story throughout my closet. As a soft Autumn, I've found a color palette that works well for me. A great exercise in creativity is pulling out items and combining them in new ways. At 56, street style isn't my thing, but I would wear a white sneaker with a dress. Happy Thrifting!

I bought two white pieces about seven years ago for my college graduation. Since then, not being affluent, I couldn’t let two perfectly comfortable garments languish unworn. So I wore them. And wore them. They are surprisingly in very good condition now. I’ve dropped blue berry juice on the shirt. Slipped in the mud with the pants. More than once too. My secret is Shout stain treatment. I spray it on and let it sit while I wash another load; about a half hour. Then I drop it in a regular cold water wash. I never, ever dry the garment until the stain has disappeared. And I follow up this stain treatment & wash with a final wash that has white vinegar. This seems to prevent the crisp white color from fading and becoming dingy. The garments will eventually show wear, and they will become dirty job clothing until they become too thread bare. I had no idea this would work until I was forced to wear my good clothing frequently. I was quite astonished! I certainly don’t purposely wear them when I know full well that they will get dirty; holding my jelly eating grand babies, but if I forget, oh well. That’s what the Shout is for. I bought some cheap Hanes tees about three years ago, figuring this stain treatment would work here too. Nope. Turns out the garment cannot be of fast fashion quality. It needs to be hardy. My graduation garments are still going strong, while my tees, are already serving me for dirty jobs. And my other point to note, some water isn’t very suitable to working well with spot treatment. Something to do with mineral content, chlorine content, softness, hardness? Not sure why, so it’s great advice to try this with a thrift find! And I advise experimenting with different brands of stain treatments. I thought perhaps my experience might encourage other lovers of white to be a bit daring!

Super inspiring. Part of my newly formulated no-buy is thrift only. Thrift but with limits, maybe. Such as, once monthly. Still working on guidelines. Edit: Also, you’re my new favorite RUclipsr. And I wasn’t considering
no-buy before I recently found you. So quite inspiring, indeed.

Lately I feel like I've been coming into a new style. I've become obsessed with midi skirts then I discovered an insta account of someone who layers skirts with dresses, or with other skirts and I just feel so inspired? I feel like I'm more confident in pulling off a look like that now. With that said I will probably buy some new pieces to experiment with haha. But this is an excellent reminder to not go overboard!

According to your Pinterest choices you like
    loose fitted clothes.
Just go for it with the trainers & dresses/skirts 💪 Breaking the girly dress vibe with casual trainers gives it interest and edge, and it’s current. Test-wear your new outfit to your groceries store and see how you feel at ease with it. Have fun with it 🤗
Loving the diverse examples of photos selection, absolutely stunning! 😍thank you!

Sometimes I realize that my lust for a particular clothing item is actually simply a desire to see or touch. I ask myself if I can make a piece of art, upcycle some jewelry, or just acquire something in a particular color, especially when I can't let go of silhouettes or trends I won't really wear. Dishtowels, by the way, can be w great way to get a whole range of "vibes" without wasteful spending. Everyone (except newlyweds) always needs to refresh at least one dishtowel in their kitchen

What a beautiful thoughtful last few videos! (Not that your vids don’t always fit this category)
I have been loving wearing graphic tees over dresses - I actually find it more approachable then the jumper over dress/ skirt as I feel like i can figure out what temperature to pick such an outfit better whereas I never quite know with the jumper skirt/ dress combo. I have also just had summer here in Australia so that is easier. I have a pair of white jeans that I brought last winter that I love so much and fit me like a dream but I have worn them so much less then I expected because every time I do them I get coffee or something on them so quickly- it has made me realise how messy I am! I think op-shop (what we call thrift shops in Australia) is the perfect solution for the desire for White! And you can always dye them if they get stained!

You could pull off anything you wanted to wear simply because you would show so much enjoyment in wearing it. Thank you for taking us through your thought process on finding style. This has been super helpful for me right now, I had my first baby back in January and now I can't just wear my pre-pregnancy stuff because I am nursing. But most maternity nursing clothes are not flattering and overly expensive for what they are. So I am having to get more creative in my clothes choices like button downs or wrap tops etc...which are not things I would have typically worn so I'm struggling with how to style them in a way that flatters me and agrees with my personality. It's more difficult than I anticipated. Your video is perfect timing. Keep doing what you do, we enjoy your work in this world 😊

What I must say I really admire about your channel is the inclusively in the example photos. I'm a mid-size lady, and sometimes it's hard to style things, and something that looks good on very slim women looks nothing like that on me.

Hello! I'm a fellow slip-skirt skeptic, also drawn to the silhouette with larger jumpers. Something I picked up thrifting last Autumn (& you might want to look out for) was a wool bias cut slip skirt. It has a loose, textured weave and an lining and it has the shape and texture of that look, without the extreme delicacy. I also thought I might not be comfortable with the hip-hugging but wore it tonnes, one of the best £5.99s spent of the season. Wool is not a substrate I'd seen around on that type of skirt but I now think it might be the magic answer (for me) of making that look practical.
