  • In this video, I build a full carbon fiber belly pan and upper fairing for my race bike. After finding that my previous belly pan was too wide at the rear and scraped the track when cornering, I knew I needed to remake the whole thing. Then I just did the upper faring because carbon fiber is the coolest thing in the world 😄
Here are some links for the products I used in this video:

I think you could use expanding foam to fill the alluminum cage, than shape it. Doing this you could make the curves right and avoid pockets of air and resin having a nice surface to lay it on. Other than that, Great work!!

Great idea! I’ve not used expanding foam in a project yet, I’ll put it in my to-try list 👍🏽😁👍🏽

The close up of the welds had me for a minute, not gonna lie

Cheap kitchen scales would be more accurate for the resin mixing and not just a single use tool (y), nice video bro

Good point @ryancorbett-d5x! For this particular epoxy, I use volumetric measurements. The manufacturer suggests volume bc the density of each part varies.
But totally true that epoxies can be weighed very accurately with cheap scales! Great budget hack 👍🏽👍🏽

Not perfect but better yet not bad at all. Can see why this channels call extra medium. 😂

best option for carbon is a vacuum system thair rather cheep to get the components a pump from harber fraght you want the expensiveness one the cheep one is know to exsplode and a chamber to catch resin run off " easaly made from a pice of shedual 10 4 inch pvc pipe 12 inch pice shuld suit just fine matching end caps and two thread in barbs that fight 1/4 vacum hose one in from the work pice and the other out to the pump . i only say this becaous carbon is at is strongest with a one part carbon to one part resin composition and you get a sanifigently beter surface finish and way less issues working as long as your molds clean and buffed out to a glossie finish that is . nice job ither way most defitly a funtional part keep taking big bights one project at a time if you keep taking them you will surprise your self .

Thanks so much! I agree vacuuming and a real mold would be the best! I aim to do a higher quality vacuum part sometime in the winter.
Lots of good instructional videos out there. You made great points! Stayed tuned my friend!

Deff love using prepreg. I’ve used that for case covers and it is great!
