    Durant has an MVP, 2X Champion, 2X Finals MVP. Just off the eyeball test alone anyone who knows or plays ball can see he is an unbelievable offensive force with tons of versatility and underrated defense. He has had a lot of unfortunate injuries and bad luck with teammates getting injured at the worst possible times. When Lebron won his titles, he always had a fully healthy roster, when it was anything less than fully healthy they wouldn’t win

Kyrie COVID drama suspension, Harden leaving AGAIN. For the 2021 Bucks, did they get much luck outside of the Nets series? Don't get me wrong, with how close the Nets series was despite injuries and KD being and inch too close, it's still another case of proving that luck is pretty much required to win a ring. I might be blanking on something obvious, but Kawhi getting a crazy lucky bounce shot into a facing a finals team that lost 2 of their 4 superstars after clearing out all of the other competition in the west seems luckier to me. After his junior season, the best team in the conference wanted him to switch schools and join them. We stayed put out of loyalty and we didn't want to ride a super team.
    Then in his senior season, the coach split up the players in practices into two teams. My son on one and the next two best players on the other. You could tell the other two were getting used to playing with each other as they would often pass to each other in games but not my son. Despite having a superior FG %, the other two would always take more shots.
    My son's team lost in the title game to the other team. My son was only 2nd team all-conference while his two teammates got 1st team for the first time. We wanted to be loyal but got stabbed in the back.

    I think in order to be a great champion, not just a great player, one needs more than talent and athleticism. It takes a work ethic that seeks not just to outcompete your competition but outcompete yourself.
    That work ethic takes place on the court during the entire game with hustle, during practice, lifting weights, etc.
    Jordan and Kobe were great champions because they always found a way to contribute to win the game. If they were having an off night shooting, they made damn sure they were making big plays on defense or facilitating others on offense. And when the game was on the line, they knew a big defensive play could win the game just as much as a winning shot.
    Work hard all the time. Play hard every play during the game on all sides of the ball. And have the basketball IQ to know when to seize on an opening to make a big play.
    That's what champions do.

    • @skap_attack

    • @JorJorIvanovitch
      @JorJorIvanovitch Год назад

      @skap_attack thinking about this more...it's also more than work ethic. Olympians train constantly. All the skill preparation must still be executed when it counts. That is where it has to elevate to a mental necessity to succeed.
      I think a lot of people work hard. They aren't lazy. But succeeding isn't EVERYTHING to them, so they don't have the same inextinguishable fire. They find ways to accept their shortcomings and get on with life. This is actually a healthy, stable, well-adjusted approach to life. It is also why the true greats in their fields are usually a bit maladjusted. That's what it takes to get to the very top of achievement in a given specialty.
      I don't mean this as an insult. It's just the phenomenon, the difference at the top versus close to the top.

    You are true NBA fan. Thank you for taking the attention to the NBA playoffs instead of 2016 postseason. OKC was the best team in 2016 Playoffs. There was one player who did not lock in, that was KD. As an OKC fan, I am really upset that people are calling him "Snake". I think we need to derive a new word for him. You are focusing on leaving the OKC for GSW. You should focus the 2016 Playoffs including San Antonio series!!!

    • @skap_attack
      @skap_attack  11 месяцев назад

      That’s a good point with the San Antonio series. And an even better point about okc being the best team in the 2016 playoffs. If they didn’t choke the 3-1 lead against golden state, I think the thunder beat the cavs. And likely Westbrook and Durant stay together.

    • @dillatronic4757
      @dillatronic4757 11 месяцев назад

      @@skap_attack I do not really care if Durant would have stayed or not. What I care is that if you watch and feel this SAS series, you should see that Westbrook eliminated the best Spurs team ever. They have 67-15 record in normal season. Westbrook showed some mentality, resiliency and leadership in that series. The real obstacle was not GSW for OKC. It was always Spurs. But KD did not lock in, and sadly, I think he had decided to leave OKC before postseason because of GSW's 73-9 record. He scared. He did not believe in his team. He expected to eliminated by Spurs, but that OKC team was tougher than he thought. It is really sad, and I am still pissed about that Playoffs.

    I agree with everything you said except this.... KD having the best NCAA seasonv ever. To me, that's Carmelo Anthony, leading Syracuse to the chip in his 1st year in dominant fashion.

    • @skap_attack
      @skap_attack  11 месяцев назад

      I agree with you EASILY if we look at the context of Carmelo actually winning the title. But regular season for regular season, it was KD all day. He won 7 national player of the year awards as a freshman. Unheard of. Of course I’d rather have Carmelo’s outcome. And he should be remember more highly than Durant when factoring the tournament in

      Westbrook this, Westbrook that, this isn't about Westbrook, this is about Kevin Durant failing time and time again without GSW.
      Not So FUN FACT: Outside GSW. KD made deep playoff runs with OKC with Westbrook being his clear cut 1b to KD's 1a.
      Since then KD played with Harden, Irving, CP3, Ayton, and Dbook. And the result is just making the 2nd round.
      If KD wasn't such a choker he could've had a title outside GSW. But it's proven time and time again, he is not as great as his meatriders
