We have all missed your videos and glad you are back. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Only 2 years experience with a chainsaw, you’re amazing. What a natural talent.
As of late August/early September it was exactly 2 years since I held my first chainsaw saw! It's been a wild ride...never expected to be a full time artist. Truly living a dream, hope I don't wake up!
1) Yes, animals are so lovely...and not everyone is able to capture their beauty in art forms... 2) Agree that the rough wood is the best...leave a few just like they are, without finish....they would be amazing.
I totally agree... I was reading the comments and thinking of how I can say what an incredible artist you are and how much I enjoy every bit of your videos, that has not been told by everyone else! I truly appreciate your craft, and you continue to grow in skill and artistic flair. Thank you for sharing it with us, it is truly a privilege to see how a piece of art is created.
Thank you sooo much! Everyone has been so kind! You don't even have to say nice things, just watching the videos and supporting my work and dreams is more than enough! I'm blessed to have such kind and supportive viewers. Truly. 💛
Super awesome work you do. And your videos are great. Glad to know you are doing good and staying busy. Yes getting to carve whatever you want is less stressful. Enjoy stay safe.
Less about stress and more about bringing an artist. Since I started I have never carved anything for myself, I don't own a single carving, it's always been about making art for others because it's my job! I'm just excited to have a little freedom this winter 😊
@TayMarie23 funny. I have been the opposite. I have had no orders , except making a dragon for friend for free. But have just been trying whatever ever seems fun or challenging. I love your great cheerful attitude and watching your quality carving so I can learn from you. Have you ever watched the channel Woodart Vietnam? They're amazing may give you some ideas. Take care
It's definitely an interesting art form jaha! Always respect the tools and never get too comfortable are key to being safe...and wear all your PPE of course! It's the little tools that get you, the saws are rather behaved lol!
@TayMarie omg how beautiful/handsome! Animal sculptures are the best pieces to create and the colors make them all the more amazing! Great job! You are very talented! xoxo

so amazing and beautiful. All thouse details. You re definitly one of the best carving artists i saw…and i saw a lot, even in my country. Can not wait to see more.
Whoa whoa whoa.....that looks AWESOME!!! Love the sound of the Loon. Friends have a place up in Harpswell and when they would be in the cove you'd hear them make that cool sound. NH and Maine first things I think of when I hear that sound. Beautiful job on that!
Where in France? My Father, may he Rest in Peace, was from the Basque region, in the middle of the Pyrenees...Estos, near Oloron...by the Spanish border....sheep herders....
@@TayMarie23 ты очень хороший мастер своего дела, мне очень приятно смотреть твою работу, ты очень приятная и красивая девушка. Хотелось чаще видеть твои работы!!!!!!
Awesome news video I have done 2 loons the one I used tinted out ink because the wood was really figured and I wanted it to show threw great job be safe
If one is ordered, absolutely! I don't think I would ever have the patience to get all the details in a duck that decoy carvers do with a chisels and gouge though haha!
Gorgeous well done and yes the Loon call is a delight, but if you want to hear a call to curdle the blood, walk down a lonely forest path at night and hear a Sika Deer.
I'm so glad to see a new video! The loon is breathtaking! I'm curious about the function of torching a piece when it's totally painted. Does it seal or somehow smooth it? Great work Taylor. Don't too hard on yourself for 'biting off more than you can chew' workload wise, it's part of getting the feel for the tiime and energy involved in the ramping up of production.
Torching helps close the grain and create a smoother surface! For larger carvings it's a way of speed sanding essentially! It's definitely been a learning curve. And I'm horrible at saying no...so I end up taking on way too much. Even after I closed orders for 2024, somehow 4-5 more snuck in lol. Learned a lot this year and I'm excited to put that knowledge into action next year!
Great work Tay! Missed ya, but understand. There must be many hours behind the scenes that we don’t see…filming, editing, uploading, charging equipment, etc….all, just for us. Plus gassing, oil saws, changing chains and bits, cleaning brushes, shovelling sawdust etc. etc…. Thank you. I appreciate your efforts and hope your channel continues to grow! Thumbs up everyone! Hope Nami is doing well too! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nami girl is living the life! She sun baths most days and gets to stick her head out the window on long car rides 😂 Out of everything you listed...transferring the big 4k files off my phone to the computer is the most brutal lol! I'd rather sharpen every chain I own haha! Takes forever!!
Agree on the raw wood---most of the furniture I've made in my house I've left unfinished. I finished a couple of pieces, and it just didn't look as good afterward. But the vanity had to be sealed.
Hey Tay, glad to see you back! its been a while! Fantastic carving as always, you must have been seeing white spots or a while after painting those on! :)

Okay, after watching all your carving videos I have to ask what is your artistic background? For only having been chainsaw carving two years your planning sketches and design strategy are too purposeful and deliberate for someone who just fell off the turnip truck. Did you take sculpture and design courses in college prior to nursing school? You're employing more than just raw talent here.
I haven't taken an art class since my junior year of high school haha! I have always been artsy and loved crafting, but I rarely ever had time for it. I have zero sculpting experience, I think 5th grade was the last time I touched clay haha! I would always be doodeling on my school notes, but that's really it. I did grow up in the construction scene since my parents own a small mom and pop construction company, so maybe some of that rubbed off? I guess I just do things in the way that makes the most sense to me. 🤷🏼♀️ I'm also extremely dyslexic, may or may not have something to do with it.
