Turbos have alot of stuff to go wrong…pay the extra money for supercharger simplicity….being cheap can be a pain in the ass sometimes

I got a blowed head gasket for the third time. Maybe time for me to go with studs to hold my heads on better. Keep giving the retro fox hell and see if it doesn't blow a head gasket.

I’m only pushing coolant under boost doesn’t over heat unless I blow out too much coolant . Going to slap some afr heads on it soon with studs hope that fixes the issue

Your 5th gear still sounds like an overdrive. My 89 LX 5 spd has 3.73's, and it's like a close ratio 4 speed with barely an overdrive. Not sure what my Trans ratio in 1st is, but I have read the 89 was different. She came with 3.08's.
I had 3 89s I have never heard that they had a different trans I think that is a myth. They all had the same t5. It may not have an oem trans because it definitely has an overdrive. My 89 with 373 turned maybe 2500 rpm at 70 give or take. I had another w 273 and another with optional 3.08. The other car was also 3.08 that I went to 3.73s on.
Had to pause immediately after the copper spray part so I can throw my .02 in....
That copper spray is the biggest, most overlooked thing in entirely too many builds I see, and I'm even talking about BIGTIME youtube race guys.... it's too often I see folks just slapping gaskets on no matter their material and calling it good to go only to see them a few videos later with blasted gaskets or problems related to that.
It takes 10 seconds, a quick spray on both sides (not just for head gaskets) but great for exhaust manifolds as well. It's common sense. It expands when it's hot, shrinks back down when it's cool.
It works. This stuff is even used on big OTR high HP diesel engines, pulling trucks, 100+ lbs of boost insanely hot IT'S and zero issues time after time. It's cheap, simple and effective. Why I see so many people not using it is beyond me, but I'll get back to the video now.

I tried the copper spray on 9333’s about 6/7 years ago and they still failed on me at just over 12 psi. I found out afterwards they are PTFE coated (TEFLON) and the copper spray dosent adhere very well to them. I’ve since went to MLS and never lost another at higher boost even.
I can't wait to put a t5 in my 66 mustang. 3 speed auto just ain't cutting it.
That was the best move I’ve made so far on my 65!

Glad you got it fixed. I just did trick flow stage 1, 11r heads and a Holley systemax intake and the car doesn't have power like it should. Idk what else to check or do
What is your timing set at? NA or power adder?
@@BREW2LFOXBODY 10* spout out. I have nitrous but haven't crossed that path yet since the top end kit. It's an aod. I know it needs a stall I got one on order. But it still feels slower almost then before the top end kit.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY and I can't get my tos down past 1.79 that's with the throttle stop all the way out. And I drilled the holes out.. and it intake popped slowing down 2 or 3 different times

@@NorthRacing it sounds like a possible vacuum leak or maybe the valves are too tight.
Why a B-cam with a supercharger? Why not the E-cam? The B cam has more valve overlap, right?

60# injectors on my vortech combos as well. I got a tune from Bob Kurgan years ago.

I've heard that you need to re torque head studs after a few heat cycles. ARP instructions make no mention of it. What's your thoughts? Internet lore or facts?
I would be more likely to re torque head bolts than studs. I’ve never had any problems with studs
I’ve tried to re torque mine and they haven’t moved in the last 5 years but that’s using MLS gaskets

Brew2l I had a question to ask and need a little info. I have a 351w that’s been internally balance. The shop put the flywheel 28 oz now it has vibration can they add a 28 oz hermonic balancer to even out the weight or will that ruin the motor.
So how would you compare the Sve heads to other main brands?
They seem to make plenty of power with this setup.

Quick question, How Hard is it to install a supercharger on a mass air setup on a 89, with a B cam and a decent set of alum heads? just want one to compliment such as the video with andrews friends car. Injectors, pump, computer? and mass air meter? or what all exactly do I need?
