If Ya’ll are bored with Wizard101, I HIGHLY recommend Pirate101. There’s so much more to do, the fights aren’t tedious, and there’s so much more to explore. You get to traverse skyways on a Pirate ship, battle other ships in the sky, etc, and the battle system is completely different. It’s like playing chess. I wish the game had more attention because it’s so much more fun and less tedious to Wizard101, and you don’t always need to rely on someone’s help to make it through the quests.
Up until a point sure. I've noticed that with all the more recent stuff that if your not able to get the extreme "I can shoot, & melee and lock an enemy in place to where they can't do anything builds" then this is kinda false as pirate101's enemies are starting to reach a point of being able to kill even the best companions very easily if your not running with a team to can kill them very fast or running that lock down strat of having a stupid amount of epic talents on your pirate.
I second this, until we realize that Pirate101 is just abandoned by the devs at this point. They claim to not have resources to do skyways and ship combat, which I don't really believe right now. I've been playing since launch and I have just as much praise for p101 as I do complaints.
Got to disagree, Pirate101 is fun untill a point. Played it since launch and still hop on here and there becouse of memories. But combat gets stale in a weeks time and to be honest, thats the only thing it had going for it.
I think azteca is the only world in the game where it straight up became unenjoyable to play through at some point, and make wiz city and krok ftp at this point. they are the two shortest worlds and both got updated with better graphics so it gives players a good 10 hours to actually experience the game rather than having to stop before they can get their 3rd spell.
I refuse to play it cause I don't appreciate feeling FORCED to play the game just so I get the most out of my membership. I would just play without membership, but what's the point if you only get a smidgen of content. I love this game so much. I just wish it would change.
A couple years back, I found it strange that one person could spend money on monthly membership on 4 accounts to grind the game instead of clicking the team up button and save money, but now I get it. You basically don't find other players to grind with. Remove the damn paywall for the first arc, get people hooked. Great video, Sniffy!
You can basically solo the entire game up until the very end though, right? Or at minimum its a lot less effort to solo than to level up 4 wizards on 4 accounts. I still don't rly see the point in doing that, although maybe the main grind spots for gear have gotten a lot less active recently (I haven't played seriously in 4 years)
Sometimes having multiple accounts is a curse. I would stick to solo or dual boxing accounts because once you have 3-4 accounts, it’s an unbelievable chore and it sucks the soul out of the game we enjoy. I hate it and would rather start fresh with one account and play traditional and organically. Just my opinion from personal experiences though :/
Nearly every system in game is outdated, redundant, annoying and seems like It is trying to lead you to spend money. It gets super frustrating to play because the devs seem to have room temperature IQ and always manage to make things worse with every update. What was the purpose of this last bazaar update lol? As you said, trading should have been added to the game back in 2008. And I mean a good trading system, not a highly restricted system that only allows you to trade mistwood and rank 5 pet snacks. You forgot one thing as well on the bit about communication: In order for you to get full access to the least restricted chat, you have to pay xD. It's so funny these idiots hide behind "It's a kid's game" yet they insist on keeping gambling, hiding their content behind pay walls which kids can't afford and have every single system be an incentive to spend money. It's just baffling.
Trading is definitely something most people want, but unless you give the devs a hard counter to their current reasons, and a trading system design that 100% prevents their fear of people getting scammed and prevents people from being scammed everytime, then its simply not going to happen.
@@lordshenhai5321 In a trade, both parties offer their side of the proposal simultaneously. There is no problem with scamming. If you're referring to someone saying "Give me this and I will pay you later" and then the person never pays you back, that can already happen with tcs, crowns, pet hatches... If the devs are so concerned with player's safety why don't they remove every form of interaction between players?
7:43, i was a returning player that quit the game again for that reason. I even submitted a report on how early game is dead and only has people who server hop when ever they see another player.... To feel like i'm actually playing an "MMO" i have to go back to the place you "pay" to leave, Wizard City. I could imagine the disgusting taste in a new players mouth the moment they realize this.
My headcanon to explain why KI is so unreceptive to all the community feedback is the devs simply lack the competence to implement any of the proposed changes. I doubt the current team is paid well so any real talent that could turn the game around will just go where they will be properly compensated. This leaves us with a broken game with piles of spaghetti code and subpar staff that spend their time on the clock arguing with teenagers on Discord instead of trying to untangle the spaghetti.
They made us pay for zones/memberships so early. Like 10 levels in. Wizard City should be entirely free. I remember I did the quizzes over time for free crowns to unlock those zones and I eventually gave up. Ofc it's cheaper to get a membership than buy zones but it takes ages to finish this game so you'd spend hundreds. And not to mention if you want better gear and a mount to move faster, you need crowns. This game is definitely milking money.
They should: Make at least the entire first arc free: there is so much more content then there was in 2008. It is ridiculous that players can only go to triton Avenue, which is at most 20 minutes of playtime. Yes this should also include areas like Aquila, Kembalauug, Barkingham, Crab Alley, and Colossus Boulevard. Spend time actually taking down Bazaar Bots or having an anticheat system in place instead of reworking the bazaar. Revert all the changes made to pve spells. Why would they nerf spells for pvp, and then apply those changes to pve as well? They ruined Gnomes, Wings of Fate, and much more.
I agree on making less of Wizard City pay2play, I basically reached level 14 when I was a kid and couldn't do anything without paying and couldn't so quit and left, then returned 12 years later and got membership to actually experience the game. :( They wasted time and resources on garbage Bazaar UI instead of making things more fun for players and sorting the Bazaar bots. PAY WALL IS TOO DAMN EARLY - you said it best
@@Sniffyy everything u said bro we have been asking since 2008 but wiz doesnt care as long as there whales come threw and buy 1000 dollars worth of crap from their shop 😂😂😂
5:14 Oh don't get me started. I've been mourning the death of quick matches for 3yrs now. Quick matches were actually fun, I used to do Max lvl 1v1, lvl 60 2v2 and lvl 20 1v1. It died cause they removed tickets as one of the rewards at the start of 5th age. It honestly killed the game. And I know for a fact I'm not the only one that liked quick matches cause there were tourneys at every lvl tier till Max.
I think the game should be free, at least halfway through Krok. Their new "Wizard City Update" actually made you hit the paywall faster, which is STUPID. And I seem to be the only one to have noticed that. And the fact everyone in the community can passively bash this game's problems and go "Yeah, I can vibe with that" is... Concerning? Is that a bad thing that your game is notoriously more problematic than Skyrim by the people that play it? But hey... You can be a head community manager and not know a thing about this game, so what do I know? ...I still play this casino 12+ years later, help me-
This game is fucked, it's absolutely TOAST. The people working there might have seriously put the last nail in the coffin with this whole bazaar travesty. I've been on this train for over 12 years but I'm done. There hasn't been a positive thing to happen with this game since Karamelle.
I know kings isle is listening to their audience with the fact that they're expanding it to console too BUT they're not listening to us enough and I think the only genuine way to get them to actually listen is to go on strike of some kind because as much as I love this game, this is the most expensive game I ever had to pay for. for the majority of my time playing this Wizard101 I was a child that couldn't afford the membership but was able to get the gift cards every once and a while, now I'm a poor adult who can't afford the membership......the gift cards for the crowns or straight buying them from the sight, each area shouldn't be taking $10-20 dollars worth of those crowns.(they also should to increase the crown rewards for doing the quizzes at least). this game isn't low income friendly especially if you want to "own" the places and not have to "rent" access every month.
It’s counter intuitive but if they just listened to the community they would make more money because more people would be playing the game…. If they made arc 1 free then by the time people finish arc 1 they have incentive to buy a membership and keep playing… I have so many friends that tell me they’d love to play w101 but they stopped in wizard city because of the paywall…. So they couldn’t experience the game enough to give them money to continue playing….. people don’t want to pay immediately for this game. They want to make sure it’s worth it. And if ki doesn’t shift some things around it wont be worth to give them money to play. This game is going to end up in the trash if ki doesn’t start listening to what the people want. *This game is still alive because of the people. So listen to the people.*
@goner1179 instead of crit heals being a 2.25x the crit works like our hits and our own block weakens the crit so we get punished for having good block
@@evertrainingeverstone6069 You see this issue in a lot of games, where the "top/pro players" (max PVPers in W101), which is a minority of players, dictates close to a majority of the discussion about the game. Then the devs are left conflicted on who to appeal: their most dedicated players/ whales, vs the rest of the casual player-base. I'm not defending KI, but it's probably something they struggle with internally.
I am serious when I say this.. the first paywall should only pop up post Dragonspyre, and people can pay to play past that world and continue with the story IF they choose to do so, but lets be fair, the average player is SICK of questing by the beginning of Celestia. Either this, or let us level up faster, give us more experience for questing in general. I have been playing the Death class for 4 whole-ass years, and I am only level 109 and at the tail-end of Khysallis. The game is too long to keep consistent reinvention.
Azteca is so long I literally had to stop playing on one of my first ever wizards because I got so tired of it. That wizard is still on zultan dock bruh….
I've been complaining about the Azteca Saltmeadow Swamp-Zultan Dock quest gap for YEARS. I feel so validated. I'm positive if they removed it Azteca would immediately go from like F tier to C tier, and would potentially go higher if Tierra De Brea didnt exist. . . . . . also enjoyed and agreed with the rest of the video
6:50. "Have school-locked drops as an option. I agree but KI will just make it so that you won't always get one of the gear drops and also throw in a lower set gear version as they did in the darkmoor Mali fight to continue to motivate the carrot on a stick. My assumption as to why they give one of any school gear when you farm end game bosses is because if you have end game gear for other wizards it'll promote you playing on other schools; giving them more crown and membership money. My assumption that this is true is the internal reason why gear trade will never become a thing.
I remember being so excited to play Wizard 101 as a kid all the way back in 08 or 09, going to my computer and all the hassle to install the game, and finally being so excited to actually play the game... And then I got paywalled what felt like (or might genuinely have been) 20-30 minutes after starting. I spent more time installing the game than actually being able to play it. It crushed the game for me, and while I enjoy watching videos about Wizard 101 every now and again I have never been able to bring myself to try it again. I got more playtime before paywall and sheer fun out of Spiral Knights back in the day than Wizard 101, if you asked younger me what the greediest game I'd ever played was, my answer would probably have been Wizard101.
I remember when I first played in 2008, amazing times. I tried again this year, some high levels joined my battle and began clowning my cards then I logged off and never played again lmao
These kids got 100s of free games on roblox and I’ve been seeing custom Fortnite content and that games also free so I don’t see why a kid would deal with a paywall screwing them over.
KI has made it very clear that bleeding you dry is their primary interest. I get people love this game and they sympathize with KI needing to stay afloat, but it doesn't really justify anything at the end of the day.
Hey sniffy! Love the video! I'm not sure you will see this as it's been a month since you posted, but I've been playing since late 07 in beta, and in 08 for full release (when mooshu was the last world and lvl cap was 40) I played consistently for the first decade of the game (I was a kid and my mom played with me) and then on and off through the years, Novus and wallaru were great! That being said here's a tiny tip, I agree wholeheartedly that packs should have an only your school option (maybe even make them 499?) but here's a little trick, me and a couple other OG number crunchers are figuring out the formula now but there is a MUCH higher chance to get a certain school based on the school you are buying the packs from, the ones we know of so far is if you are ON a life wizard, you will get mostly storm or fire gear, if you are ON a storm wizard you will get Life, or Death/Myth it seems to be elemental with a slight favor to one. Hope this helps you and anyone else gear farming from packs and saves you your precious crowns! See you in the spiral
Started playing in 2010. It is still considered one of my favorite games. Idk if it’s because I got too old for it but a lot of the content now is overwhelming.
I remember being in 2nd-4th grade playing this in early 2010's. I hit the paywall and couldn't get past lvl 10. I still love the 101 games and watch wiz videos to this day. I know for a fact the community would be MUCH bigger if they lowered the paywall (preferably rid of it altogether) and the game would flourish and become mainstream relevant
Suggestions: 1. I know for some reason (aka milking time and money) KI is against player interaction in a MMORPG, but premium gear trades should be a thing. If I get Storm Aeon gear on my Life, I should be able to trade that to a friend who's a Storm maybe lock the feature behind a badge (my friend and I have to beat Aeon 20 times; it's a lot but if neither get what they want or can craft in 20 runs then should be a pity trade system for eg.) 2. By no means an original idea as its been suggested for years but a pet and mount stitching system (big effect on pvp).
I agree with this whole heartedly except for one thing. I have 2 solutions for this btw. They either need to remove the membership and still have the crown shop or keep the membership but change the crown shop to the Gold Shop. Preferably I would prefer the second option, however I will never come back to that shit game or at least the company that made the game shit, till they do one of the two things. Also I dont recommend doing both options, because KI still needs to make at least some monetization, they dont need to be greedy bastards.
I recently did a speedrun to max on storm and azteca took me literally an entire day to do without side quests. I had 170 damage with triple damage elixirs, and it STILL took me that long with the majority of fights taking 1 turn
I kid you not I would play this game if they released a Wizard101 classic that is up to Dragonspyre, a game where you cant get some OP pet within the first 5 levels cant go farm disgusting gear that makes you one shot mob fights and also the real old classic graphics are so nostalgic. Also sidenote this is going to sound so pessimistic but I am more than confident the people at KI know exactly what would be good for their game and help improve it and probably are even seeing the community's suggestions, but they will never do any of them because they are making enough money how it is why should they.
I would love the paywall to be MOVED all the way to the start of arc 2 at the very least. But this won't ever happen due to a combination of greed, and crowns players demanding that they get refunded all the crowns they spent if the paywall DOES get moved. Because we all know that KI isn't gonna wanna refund all those crowns for every single crowns player.
As someone who is just starting out and wanting to get into this, time has been the most concern for me. I started a new fire wizard because I thought it would be fun to try. We will see how it goes.
I cannot tell you ENOUGH how amazing it would be to use spells like Glacial Fortress and Betrayal in PvE cuz some of these mobs and bosses especially in the first and fourth arcs are so OD with the debuff spam. That's a major thing that they just dropped the ball on
i would love to see your arc videos! ive been looking forward to it. ive watched and loved choopo's videos and just bc he made videos doesnt mean you cant. the editing and writing style is different snd i would like to see your spin on it!
I got back into the game when they gave free membership for a week. I'm one of those people that likes to do ALL of the side quests and I did manage to do it all the way to Novus. My problems started when I got to a specific quest that required me to heal to do damage to the boss. I had no way to realistically do this side quest on my own and no one was willing to help me. While that sucked, I do get it since most people are more focused on the main quests. My second problem was farming the novus gear. It took me less time to complete novus and most of the side quests than it did to get HALF of the full set. The battles weren't even hard to do, even on my own, but they were long and I almost never got the gear. When I did, it was for the wrong school. I grinded those bosses for basically the entire week and I didn't bother grinding on the last day since I decided I wasn't gonna continue playing for a while. I really loved this game and I was happy to get back into it, but the continuous grinding and praying to the RNG gods was not something I was willing to put up with anymore. This has mostly been a rant but I really loved the game and I'm proud about the fact that I got as far as I did while mostly soloing as a Balance wizard (I may be a psychopath/masochist). I'd be willing to give the game a chance again, but it's hard to get motivated when I know that it's just going to be hours upon hours of grinding for gear again
I feel you on that. Fortunately you can largely ignore novus gear for wallaru and selenpolis now as both of these areas have a pity system where you can just craft the gear after beating a boss 10 to 30 times. And more often then not you'll get one of the two gear items they're suppose to drop either before, or shortly after getting the badge. I managed to get a full set of 170 gear from wallaru & selenpolis this way due to this new "pity system" as its being called. Hopefully they bring it to the rest of the game though so gear grinding isn't so god damn tedious for lower level players.
what would be fun is if they made a classic version of wizard 101, like with how world of warcraft did, just go back to the first arc, have it completely separate so everyone is on the same level, and og versions of zones as well, like the original triton avenue
I think wizard101 coming to consoles is actually a great idea. Some people prefer consoles over PC and there's games exclusively to PC only that would be fun on console only players. Plus not being cross platform with PC is another great idea because keeps consoles together only with out needs of addons or hacking or any other issues people would be able to play fair. And as far as transferring your accounts starting fresh with everyone on equal footing can bring back pvp and the clientele as well.
Love the vid, sums up a lot of my thoughts as well. Just want to say though that there are MMOs such as Final Fantasy XIV that are on consoles (with crossplay btw) and nobody really has a problem with the chat because you just hook up a keyboard and there's a default setting that makes it so when you use the keyboard it automatically starts typing in chat
having gear and other item drops be tradeable between players in the battle together could be cool. I guess it would heavily incentifize playing with other people though, which could be a good or negative thing. Maybe they coukld bypass that problem by only making trading possible for big end fights and farming fights that require group play to be able to win the fight.
it’s so upsetting to me to see such an important part of my childhood die, not naturally, but because kingsisle just does not care about the playerbase anymore. i’m not saying wizard101 was ever perfect, kingsisle has always been money grubby, but since the selling of kingsisle to gamigo, any salvageable part of kingsisle just got absolutely butchered. any genuine love they had for their game and playerbase is gone, all that’s left is a plethora of nearly empty servers and an unquenched thirst to squeeze every last bit of money they can out of this game before it inevitably dies. it’s painful. maybe i was just ignorant then, but i miss the days when wizard101 felt more like a gift of love to the community.
I havent been able to get back into playing the game since about early 2020-21 but I love the game so much still and always come and see whats changed. a bit scared to go back cause of all the changes.
tbh also on the pay wall thing, I feel the competition of even paid games is so vast. like if you want free mmo to try out people genuinely will recommend FF14 (haha the funny copypasta) or GW2 for your standard, base of the line mmo or Fortnite if you are more of a shooter guy. And if you want paid one, however much you might hate WoW and blizard, it is still decent enough, FF14 is great as well. I think it comes to a point where its hard to justify playing niche mmos unless they offer something unique or some mid term F2P experience before saying well for the rest you need to pay.
I put a lot of hours into this game. I came back and tried to learn the new play style and got the hang of it and took a break, tried to come back again and now you can combine school cards now and it was all too much to relearn.
cause they do not want us in the game to talk to each other too much, to coooperate.....they want to divide us....this the whole point in almost evrything in our life nowdays
lowkey or highkey only things i did not agree on are dresses (pink is fine lol all colors should be made available fr) and voicechat in-game. i am OVERLY SHOCKED when you said console would have no crossplay and be on their own servers. WHAT?? what's the point then?? 😂😂😂
Also I subscribed because I may actually go back soon and play again! I always used to love this game cause I had my brother or my buddy along with. If you got buddies to play with, most games end up good
TBH i as a kid would play this and the paywall made me stop playing it, it wasnt till i earned money as an adult i played again, and realized what i missed out on. if they made more of the start of it free, i bet it would boom again
first thing they should do is make it easier for EU players to play on NA where they actually care about the server. To play on NA you need an american or international credit card. A lot of people in EU countries don't use credit card to start. They do have paypal but for that you ALSO need to have a connected american or international credit card. Eu on the other hand is just a forgotten server. I have been playing on there for 2 weeks. We dont get any treatement at all. The website is being 'worked on' since i left 10 years ago and has nothing done to it at all. In EU its impossible to play there unless you jump through so many hoops or pay a lot just to get a credit card like that which is super sad.
You’re right the paywall is so outdated. I can’t think of a game that does this whole membership DLC thing anymore. I feel like they should go full gacha tbh that’s the real cash cow now a days
I have 1700 hours in this game on steam and I have 4 max 170 characters. I 100% agree. I still have 3 characters I need to finish and its like just let me skip that shit man I will PAY for it! Destiny 2 freaking has this feature if you have than one character.
@ I know that lol but I enjoy the game and I like to try all the characters and see which ones I like plus things get nerfed and things get buffed. You never know what you’ll like and not like unless you try it however, other games like destiny you can have three characters and they give you the option to skip two out of three if you’ve already done one it just is a nice feature is all. They have been add world skip elixers which was nice for my last 3 characters.
This is gonna be long (sorry not sorry😋😋) Firstly, regarding the whole “obtaining items for other schools but never YOUR school in dungeons, packs, etc.” I actually ran some experiments a while back where I tested different wizards with different schools, opened packs, fought dungeons, etc. and got pretty much everything I need for its opposite school and middlemost school. So for example: when I’d play life, I’d get lots of death/myth drops (elementals were always mixed, but mostly be ice if elemental stuff showed up). When I’d play death I’d get lots of life resources and what not. After finding this crappy rigged system’s function out, I decided to only open packs for what I need on my opposite wizard, and I’d basically be able to max out spellements, gear sets, whatever else I needed, in like 10 or less draws/dungeon runs, then I’d just swap the stuff out in my shared bank between wizards. So yes, in my conclusion they ABSOLUTELY rig the system to give you other school items first. Secondly, I could very well be wrong about this, but I’m 90 percent positive wizard101 will shut down in a maximum of 2 to 3.5 years (that’s being very generous). Let me explain: Back when that weird company bought out Kingsisle or whatever what flamingo, gamingo?? Idek. I & many others got the feeling it was basically end game. From the research I’ve done, that company buys dying MMOs with lots of nostalgia behind them and milks them dry bringing back resources, packs, etc. that hold lots of nostalgic and sentimental value to the player base (as we’ve seen over and over with mistimed rereleases of holiday packs, like Christmas in summer/July, the Halloween packs, the patriotic packs, etc. Then they proceed to give just enough of that money earned, to more development towards the game, just enough to keep people attached and promise false hope for a future in the game. Once all is bled dry they abandon it and its community leaving it to die completely. I only continue to notice things that everyone else calls “revival” & “hope” for the future of wiz, when they in reality look more like a company bleeding it of its last breath and calling it the future of wiz. You can really see all of this chaos in how they are doing new worlds and the storyline and other content. They only reuse old ideas, and slap a label on it saying brand new. Thankfully more people are at least calling them out on this with the new spell updates, but I don’t think people are realizing what it actually means. I do believe we can save it though and make wiz great again. There truly is SOO much potential and it would be so heartbreaking to see such a beloved game die completely. The biggest Change that NEEDS to happen is someone responsible and that truly cares about the game AND its community needs to rebuy it out and take over the company. (Which is the hardest/most unlikely part) and the next thing is for the community to band together and actually be level headed adults with proper, constructive, feedback. All I hear from the community is a bunch of people whining and pouting about EVERY little thing. It doesn’t help anyone to just sit and sulk about. We NEED to be active, not passive-aggressive or just flat out aggressive. But this will never matter if the heads of the company do not change because NOBODY is listening, and they won’t, so long as they make more money. And boycotting won’t work either, since when money stops flowing, they will pull the plug on the game and call it a day then move onto the next one. The only things giving me hope that this is not the case is that they are seemingly making efforts to expand the game in ways never seen before, like the console release (regardless of how people view it) and the little merch shop they opened up recently. Despite the length of this comment, I just wanted to share my honest thoughts here. I mean I really don’t like where this is heading, I just hope more people wake up and see it for what it is before it’s too late. And again maybe I’m wrong, but I really feel something off with the entire situation regarding wiz.
The Devs are so focused on kid safety that they're blind to all the other non pg things going on in the game, as well as gambling. And they ruin the game experience overall trying to be helicopter devs
Welcome to the Pokemon struggle when it comes to who the game is aimed towards. Pokemon players have been yelling at Nintendo for years to stop making their games so childish and increase the difficulty. These companies are apparently completely blind to the fact that it is no longer children playing their games, but the people who GREW UP playing their games that are now adults.
i think you speak about some important issues, but i want to speak about the pvp aspect. tell me a game, where pvp mode is integrated, which the community doesn't hate. it's just the behaviour of people, it is hard for a company to make a game non toxic with pvp in it (thinking here about league of legends, cod, starcraft, all the classics...). and saying you have to play hours of pvp to understand it and get max gear etc., i dont think this is bad because it should be a longer learning experience and not just another fast reward, dopamine farming game - its a complex system with a lot of things to think about. the paywall has been an issue for years, but i think it is some kind of marketing thing, because they know they have a loyal player base, and alot of people would just stop after the arc 1 if it would be free.
They need other activities too. PvP and Pve should not be the only thing to do. No one uses the houses anymore unfortunately or does house parties. We need a reason to do other things too.
There are other things todo but they need to make those things MEANINGFUL and something that people WANT TODO rather then have todo because it makes x or y easier. But yea I agree.
Yeah, I have to agree with you on the fact that the console version is going to end up like the steam version of this game did where, they wouldn't let you transfer all your progress from your main account from the main-client to the steam-client, so you had to make a brand new account on top of the fact (from my understanding someone can correct me) there was no real cross-play either, so you just end up with a version of the game that's practically dead and can't interact with anyone from the main-client which defeats the entire purpose of an MMO in the first place. Also, why would anyone want to play a game that's more designed for PC on a console? Now, that might not be an issue for some, but I do have a few issues: 1). This game was really built heavily for PC in mind, so why would most people want to play this game on the console? Just think about it, this game is already pretty slow as is, so now, when you are in combat, you have to move the Directional-Pad/Analog stick left-to-right and vice versa to go through your hand one-by-one which is going to be very tedious and for some controllers that are experiencing "drift" that's just going to be more of a nightmare for players seeing that get out of control. 2). It just seems useless to have the controller when the PC gives you much more variety with the buttons, it's not like wizard101 has any advanced movements or anything that would want you to warrant a controller over a keyboard, so what's the point of this when keyboard already gives you what you need to do and at a much faster pace. 3). This game is old and a lot of these ideas that were already talked about ages ago, it's far too late now, and sure you "might" have some that might enjoy it on release (if it doesn't turn out like the steam version), but again, other games have already done this and this has been a standard that these guys haven't been willing to follow-up on till now, so even if it does come fully released, nobodies going to likely care for very long and probably just go back to the PC version anyway.
I think everything in wizard city should be free including, cyclops, and fire cat alley. Once you get to the tree I agree it should cost crowns or buy membership.
A lot of solid points as a veteran I agree with almost all of this a lot of damage is being done by their current decisions. By the way what is that mooshu looking gear set with floating gold spike orgnaments behind your back called?
Appreciate the love! its a cosmetic gear piece u can buy in lemuria for completeing all the extra quests. but i dont recommend going for it cus it is a nightmare
I had a yearly membership for a while as a kid and then stopped when I beat dragonsphere! My brother and I just now saw this and learned the game kept going😂 we may go ahead and play it just cause we used to duo everything
The dress caught me off guard 😂I’ve been playing since like month 2 of its release and I’ve been a member ever since. I admit I’m a whale but the PVP I have NEVER touched bc I’m scared of it. Beastmoon made me actually vaguely enjoy pvp. We need trading tho, even Webkinz has trading 😂
Yeah, free memberships are cool sometimes but nobody who's waiting for the game sits around for those. They should make more main quest line free, and add more high level side worlds like wysteria, and grizzleheim. They also need to do ads again. It wouldn't just attract new players, but old players too. The krokotopia revamp is too dim lit, and the tree on the left is misplaced. I'm a level designer. I know they can do better. And yeah, pvp exclusive spells is kind of annoying. Same with pve exclusive. I'd love for them to rebalance the game. All bosses being stun immune after level like 50 is kind of crazy, every boss and fight being rinse and repeat, I'd like them to explore what can be done. The new bazaar is a good idea... but the new one feels so empty... I also liked the old colors more.
Last time I played was during 2nd age pvp. At that time darkmoor gear was the best and Morgan amulet was the best. That was 2014ish, I’ve been looking at videos to get back into it and it doesn’t make me want to return besides nostalgia
they already have it so kids under 13 i think cant even use text chat, i dont see a problem adding voice chat as long as kids cant use it for their own safety and adults who can use it can toggle it or turn it off completely if they dont want to use it. we all know there's some fucked up weirdos on every online game but there's also the potential to make good friends and find those who will be helpful/kind to you. as long as you have some semblance of control over who can vc with you, if you have vc on at all, and parents can guarantee that their kids wont be chatting adult strangers on the game, vc is a great idea.
The no cross play is dumb but console players don't use text chat we use party chat as long as that person is on our friends list simple invite the proximity chat is a ok idea i think it should just be limited to battles with mute options
I love that there's so much more commentary on 🔮 Wizard 101 and king's Isle 🤴 I really hope With continued videos like this that they will pay attention to what it Is that players want from the game. The paywall is still way too early if they were smart they would make it right after Moo Shu and If you want to continue and finish the first Arc then you would have to pay for Dragonspyre. I think enough of us pay for mounts and housing that they can do that And yes player versus player Battles used to be Simple , quick to join and we're fun. The Bizarre was also perfectly fine I don't know why they needed to reinvent the wheel. 😮💨 Lastly yes a form of trade for Reagents especially please Kingsle 🙏 ! And if the game really wants to engage their audience even more there should be a way to have Open Mic 🎤 in game conversations between your friends.
100% agree to this. I have played since 2008 and play on and off. Max level is 170 now but paywall is still lvl 8? Final Fantasy XIV is way better in this point as their paywall is at lvl 70 and their max is lvl 100. The game will have a lot more players sticking to the game if they are given plenty of time to invest into it.
I wanted to play this game again after being gone for so long. But I can’t even launch the game cause I get a 3d graphic error while launching and there is no fix to it
Yes to the paywall. I know wiz doesnt charge for expacs but how can other mmos have such long trials like ffxiv? Thst game has over 100+ hours free with no limit on how long u can play for
7:35 i thought they specifically said that wouldn't be the case, and you can cross play with pc and all console players or at least all consoles in general. If what you say turns to be true instead and it's like the steam version i give up on this company for being brain dead
Too bad they ruined the beginning
I second this, until we realize that Pirate101 is just abandoned by the devs at this point. They claim to not have resources to do skyways and ship combat, which I don't really believe right now. I've been playing since launch and I have just as much praise for p101 as I do complaints.
i maxed all pirates :(
Got to disagree, Pirate101 is fun untill a point.
Yea azteca has you do ALL THAT WORK JUST TO LOSE
I have 3 level 160s, and Azteca has made it so much more cancerous.
I’m at Azteca rn I’m glad that it will get better
I refuse to play it cause I don't appreciate feeling FORCED to play the game just so I get the most out of my membership. I would just play without membership, but what's the point if you only get a smidgen of content. I love this game so much. I just wish it would change.
Kingsisle just needs to sell Wizard 101 to somebody who will give it the love it deserves.
I think it is absolutely crazy to me that Wizard101 and World of Warcraft both have the same price of an annual subscription of $70+.
@@dxcoolio3434 this game is horrid
My headcanon to explain why KI is so unreceptive to all the community feedback is the devs simply lack the competence to implement any of the proposed changes. I doubt the current team is paid well so any real talent that could turn the game around will just go where they will be properly compensated. This leaves us with a broken game with piles of spaghetti code and subpar staff that spend their time on the clock arguing with teenagers on Discord instead of trying to untangle the spaghetti.
That paywall killed most of the players tbh, when I was a kid I deleted cause of it 😂 that’s how I know
I SHOULD have quit, but my dumbass wasted the time grinding shit up to 2019. Costed me a lot of irl friendships.
samee
They made us pay for zones/memberships so early. Like 10 levels in. Wizard City should be entirely free. I remember I did the quizzes over time for free crowns to unlock those zones and I eventually gave up. Ofc it's cheaper to get a membership than buy zones but it takes ages to finish this game so you'd spend hundreds. And not to mention if you want better gear and a mount to move faster, you need crowns. This game is definitely milking money.
They should:
Make at least the entire first arc free: there is so much more content then there was in 2008.
EXACTLY
1000% agree. the fact that the free wizard city doesnt even include crab alley or colossus is laughable.
I agree on making less of Wizard City pay2play, I basically reached level 14 when I was a kid and couldn't do anything without paying and couldn't so quit and left, then returned 12 years later and got membership to actually experience the game. :(
They wasted time and resources on garbage Bazaar UI instead of making things more fun for players and sorting the Bazaar bots.
PAY WALL IS TOO DAMN EARLY - you said it best
Kingsisle never listen to us. Thats the issue
And I know for a fact I'm not the only one that liked quick matches cause there were tourneys at every lvl tier till Max.
it’s telling how they can make 1 QOL update a year but release new packs every other week. they don’t care about the player experience just income
Just make the whole game free tbh
Still not happy with the change to crit heals
What are they?
@goner1179 instead of crit heals being a 2.25x the crit works like our hits and our own block weakens the crit so we get punished for having good block
actually one of the weirdest decisions they've made
@Sniffyy pretty sure it was a pvp decision which I guess is valid but it doesn't have to ruin pve for the rest of us
@@evertrainingeverstone6069 You see this issue in a lot of games, where the "top/pro players" (max PVPers in W101), which is a minority of players, dictates close to a majority of the discussion about the game.
I also left my original main wizard in Azteca. Im pretty sure its one of the worlds where the most people abandon the game.
Dayum 😂. Idk how I do it. Tbh the wizards I have been using kill so fast. Like they 100+ dmg from lvl 50 onwards
Tierra De Brea and Pitch Black Lake is NOT fun
Bruh wait till you getto khrysalis
@@discoofriescan confirm that area takes awhile I’ve been there for a bit 😂
Just waiting for the old school private servers to open at this point lol
I've been complaining about the Azteca Saltmeadow Swamp-Zultan Dock quest gap for YEARS. I feel so validated.
I'm positive if they removed it Azteca would immediately go from like F tier to C tier, and would potentially go higher if Tierra De Brea didnt exist.

also enjoyed and agreed with the rest of the video
Indeed if they removed about 20 quests in azteca and 30 in khrysalis where you just go back and fourth it would highly improve the experience
8:15 Voice chat never gunna happen because they will be worried about the children safety.
First arc could fully be free and they wouldn't lose a dime
I remember when I first played in 2008, amazing times. I tried again this year, some high levels joined my battle and began clowning my cards then I logged off and never played again lmao
i played in middle school and later quit bc of pay wall and also it feels like I dont really receive support its often a solo game.
Speaking my exact tune with every single point in this video, great vid bro
8:44 LOL YOU'RE ACTUALLY SPEAKIN THERE LMAOOO
Suggestions: 1. I know for some reason (aka milking time and money) KI is against player interaction in a MMORPG, but premium gear trades should be a thing. If I get Storm Aeon gear on my Life, I should be able to trade that to a friend who's a Storm maybe lock the feature behind a badge (my friend and I have to beat Aeon 20 times; it's a lot but if neither get what they want or can craft in 20 runs then should be a pity trade system for eg.)
2. By no means an original idea as its been suggested for years but a pet and mount stitching system (big effect on pvp).
It’s a shame that not one thing you suggested in this video… Kingsisle will do
I agree with this whole heartedly except for one thing.
The worst thing is... No surprise, the paywall. It makes it reach so little public.
And the MASSIVE school identity issue… at the late game pretty much every school has roughly the same stats.
I only get on to help ppl when I’m bored nowadays
As someone who is just starting out and wanting to get into this, time has been the most concern for me. I started a new fire wizard because I thought it would be fun to try. We will see how it goes.
"Actually I do, they're dumb." 😂 so real
with consoles not crossing progress feels like a grab for money. since everyone joining wont have anything they have to spend all over again
I cannot tell you ENOUGH how amazing it would be to use spells like Glacial Fortress and Betrayal in PvE cuz some of these mobs and bosses especially in the first and fourth arcs are so OD with the debuff spam. That's a major thing that they just dropped the ball on
i am still very interested in an arc 2 video! :)
i would love to see your arc videos! ive been looking forward to it. ive watched and loved choopo's videos and just bc he made videos doesnt mean you cant. the editing and writing style is different snd i would like to see your spin on it!
@@lordshenhai5321grinding for darkmoor gear is honestly the worst part of the game. idk how but darkmoor attracts the worst parts of the player base
what would be fun is if they made a classic version of wizard 101, like with how world of warcraft did, just go back to the first arc, have it completely separate so everyone is on the same level, and og versions of zones as well, like the original triton avenue
They should make a PVP tier system. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc. Easy method to get non-pvp players into the mix
It hurts to see this game die like this after the covid resurgence man, will always come back for nostalgia every few years though
pleas make the arc 2 lore video! Your arc 1 and grizzleheim videos were amazing. Give the people what they want!!!
it’s so upsetting to me to see such an important part of my childhood die, not naturally, but because kingsisle just does not care about the playerbase anymore. i’m not saying wizard101 was ever perfect, kingsisle has always been money grubby, but since the selling of kingsisle to gamigo, any salvageable part of kingsisle just got absolutely butchered. any genuine love they had for their game and playerbase is gone, all that’s left is a plethora of nearly empty servers and an unquenched thirst to squeeze every last bit of money they can out of this game before it inevitably dies. it’s painful. maybe i was just ignorant then, but i miss the days when wizard101 felt more like a gift of love to the community.
bro seein this at 17 is wild, completely wiped this side out of my brain
I came back and tried to learn the new play style and got the hang of it and took a break, tried to come back again and now you can combine school cards now and it was all too much to relearn.
cause they do not want us in the game to talk to each other too much, to coooperate.....they want to divide us....this the whole point in almost evrything in our life nowdays
this video was pretty much just facts man gj love it
lowkey or highkey only things i did not agree on are dresses (pink is fine lol all colors should be made available fr) and voicechat in-game.
i am OVERLY SHOCKED when you said console would have no crossplay and be on their own servers. WHAT?? what's the point then?? 😂😂😂
Also I subscribed because I may actually go back soon and play again! I always used to love this game cause I had my brother or my buddy along with. If you got buddies to play with, most games end up good
The console release is going to fail because of the paywall and no account linking.
Bingo 🌟
I agree with all your points. Just came back to the game after 2 years and I'm not happy at all with some of the changes KI have made.
They need to add level 170 potion I hate having to level up 4 wizard to level 120-170 it’s ridiculous so I just quit the game not worth it anymore…
I have 1700 hours in this game on steam and I have 4 max 170 characters. I 100% agree. I still have 3 characters I need to finish and its like just let me skip that shit man I will PAY for it! Destiny 2 freaking has this feature if you have than one character.
They need to fix the game size. Loads of pointless quests scattered around the worlds. They need to clean up the questline.
They’re not forcing you to level up so many wizards lol. It’s supposed to be a game. Not a chore.
@ not to mention a lot of games these days make everything into a chore in order to get you to spend money to “save time” I miss the old days
This is gonna be long (sorry not sorry😋😋)
Firstly, regarding the whole “obtaining items for other schools but never YOUR school in dungeons, packs, etc.” I actually ran some experiments a while back where I tested different wizards with different schools, opened packs, fought dungeons, etc. and got pretty much everything I need for its opposite school and middlemost school.
Let me explain:
Back when that weird company bought out Kingsisle or whatever what flamingo, gamingo??
Nailed it - school lock on packs and gear drops are REAL. Not a joke!! It could take 5 years… to get your school drop
i think you speak about some important issues, but i want to speak about the pvp aspect. tell me a game, where pvp mode is integrated, which the community doesn't hate. it's just the behaviour of people, it is hard for a company to make a game non toxic with pvp in it (thinking here about league of legends, cod, starcraft, all the classics...). and saying you have to play hours of pvp to understand it and get max gear etc., i dont think this is bad because it should be a longer learning experience and not just another fast reward, dopamine farming game - its a complex system with a lot of things to think about. the paywall has been an issue for years, but i think it is some kind of marketing thing, because they know they have a loyal player base, and alot of people would just stop after the arc 1 if it would be free.
It’s like every couple years or months, we get at least 1 or 2 of these kinda videos why can’t yall just be happy
Now, that might not be an issue for some, but I do have a few issues:
I won’t be satisfied until all of arc 1 is free if you can by an elixir to bypass it it might as well be free
Lastly yes a form of trade for Reagents especially please Kingsle 🙏 ! And if the game really wants to engage their audience even more there should be a way to have
Open Mic 🎤 in game conversations between your friends.
Yeah I am surprised wiz is even still alive ngl fr though they come out with something new it’s always a catch
You genuinely said it all man
If I'm not leveling a lower level wiz , I just afk my brain and grind kiosk dungeons on a level 100
Just booted the game back up been grinding with my girl just hit lvl 30 last night been enjoying the game hella
But I can’t even launch the game cause I get a 3d graphic error while launching and there is no fix to it
Bro is spitting hard math right here
Kids are no longer the target demographic
Yes to the paywall. I know wiz doesnt charge for expacs but how can other mmos have such long trials like ffxiv? Thst game has over 100+ hours free with no limit on how long u can play for
7:35 i thought they specifically said that wouldn't be the case, and you can cross play with pc and all console players or at least all consoles in general. If what you say turns to be true instead and it's like the steam version i give up on this company for being brain dead
None of the rings of battle (level 56) are in the bazaar anymote either
