Kudos to you for doing your basic maintenance on the B58. I'm no pro or amateur mechanic but can do lots of basics myself. Have worked on my Volvo, Acura, MB, Audi and now BMW. The main issue I ( & im sure others too) have is space to do some tasks; tools; another person to help with some tasks and most importantly, sometimes stuff breaks and you get stuck on a project. Also, when doing repairs for the 1st time it usually takes 2-3 longer than seen on DIY videos...😢
Thanks for the video. The removal of the cabin filter cover would have been informative for 1st timers like me. Overall, you helped see it's not a daunting task. Great job. Thanks!
I'm thinking about swapping my g21 330d for an x3 m40i. The x3 got twice the milage (90k Km) of my g21( 41k Km) but has more options fitted. B58's are reliable too so there should be no Problem i guess. What do you all think? 🤔
So most plugs come pre-gapped. Typically you’ll have to gap them if your car requires a different gap. For example, when my 435i was stage 2, I needed to gap the spark plugs lower because the car was tuned
What's your thoughts on buying a B58 around 70-80k? I'm trying to decide if the cost is worth it, and frankly, it seems like it is. Drove one the other day with super low miles and it seemed worth the 52 asking lol. Question is - does that carry over to the 30k price range
Mine is at about 42k miles or so I believe and it’s holding on strong! Can’t speak personally for 80k miles but I’ve heard nothing but good things about the B58. Especially if you’re not going to tune it which I’ve noticed is where some people tend to have issues later on
@@sma013 sorry lol I replied to the wrong comment… That video was for someone else. Unfortunately I don’t have a video showing it but message me on instagram, I’ll send you pics where you can find it
Ive been owning bmw since the eighties and theyve actually gotten way more unreliable over the years imho. My wife's F10 is a shitbox on wheels. Im used to doing regular maintenance trust me I have a flawless Mini N18 engine running over 100k no issues, but when I have to remove an entire front end to replace headlights, or hours of labor to replace a simple cv axle, ya Im good. Switching away from BMWs for good, their over engineered junk to me at this point, way too much ecu bs.
The B58 is a beast and so far there hasn’t been any real complaints about this engine from the majority of owners so far… However, if you aren’t changing your oil every 3k you are definitely asking for problems
You are definitely doing unnecessary oil changes at 3k intervals....my indie mechanic who services most high end euro bands, uses Mutol oil and suggests 5-7k intervals. I do 6k personally, so 2x per year.
You cannot treat an expensive German car like it’s a Toyota or Honda! 😂. German cars and suvs are much higher performance that domestic and imports. So STAY ON TOP OF THE THE MAINTENANCE OF GERMAN SUVS AND CARS ALL!!
Please LIKE the video! If you do, your BMW will never break (maybe)
hahahahaha
I've never had an issue with bmw's in my 30 years of ownership. Always maintained them.
fire bro. I am planning to get an x3m40i myself this summer after watching this I'll also try to do some of the work myself
To this day I think the X3 M40i is probably the best all around BMW. I hope you can get your hands on one!!

My 2015 435 M sport looks exactly like yours. Same wheels. And my wife has the X3M40i and I've had 0 problems.

Been daily driving Beamers since I got my drivers license. Never had ANY major issue in 5 years in classic Beamers & modern beamers

That’s a cheap air filter always use Mann if you going factory, you also don’t need to unclip the coils just take them out and put it on the side.
When he let the metal rest on the glass I wanted to scream no!! 😂
I USE 5w30 Liqui Molly top tech 4200 with cerratec its Ll04 little bit more expensive but worth
good overall coverage of regular maintenance, even if you did it all (several years worth of maintenance) at one time.
Really happy I found this channel. I am considering trading my Model 3 for an X3 and maintenance is the key!
Definitely PPF that beautiful M3 comp
You can also upgrade the Start/Stop button to the crystal cover style
It’s the wife’s car brah, that one comes first
Your camera is insane
Do those strut bars make a difference in handling for you?
Nothing I could notice, to me they just mainly look a lot better
Love your vids. You deserve more attention.
Thank you brotha! 🙏
cool...what about doing a pre-gap on the plugs? Is that even necessary?

What are the torque specs for the strut brace?
Nice! Really considering getting this SUV for my next car. I have 2 kids and my 2is Lexus is too small
I only have one right now but having an SUV when I need it is great! Especially for that trunk space when hauling some larger items

Can you tell me how to know which engine on a BMW?
😢 the steering wheel is not M
How did you get yours to start in eco pro mode? I thought it always starts in comfort, which is what my wifes x3 m40i does
I just coded it using BimmerCode
@@ayyyman_ you got a video on that?
@@sma013 ruclips.net/video/fsLhq8GrfKA/видео.html
That didn’t show anything about bimmercode. It was you changing out plugs.

Great question, if it’s not on their site yet, I can follow up with them to get an ETA

Cool Video bro 😎 Nice Bmw Fleet !!

How do you update the I drive after your service
Where did you get the carbon fiber interior trim?
If you didn't have oil It'll tell you not to start even before it measures
I never knew it did that, thanks!

where you buy the parts ?
I buy all my maintenance items from fcpeuro.com

No dielectric grease on the spark plug tops?
mistake by using 0w-20 oil !!!!
What do you suggest?

Every 3k sounds excessive for synthetic oil but I definitely change it mid-way between the 10k BMW paid service intervals on our 2023 x3 M40i

Now you will have a scratched windshield to deal with 😟
It didn’t scratch it. They really don’t scratch that easily
Please don't use 0w20
It’s what BMW says to use but I do want to up the weight. It’s too light imo
Why? B58 clearances are tight. No need to up the weight unless you track or have high engine temps. 🙄😊
@@apprentice70 I heard a lot of different things. I heard someone say 0w30 which seemed reasonable to me. Idk, I’ll look more into it
