🔸🔹 WHAT IS THE MARIOTHON YOU ASK? 🔹🔸
The Mariothon is the ultimate Mario challenge for any gamer! It was created by DGR_Dave and he is currently on a quest to finish the first ever official Mariothon!
So...what's the challenge, you ask? The goal of the Mariothon is to beat every single Super Mario video game ever made. This includes all first party games and licensed games in which Mario is a playable character. Mariothon also includes other video games in which Mario has a prominent supporting role. That's over 150 titles, across 15 gaming systems (and counting)!
Once completed, you can say that you've been there for every quest Mario has ever taken since his humble beginnings in 1983.
What counts as “beating” a game is subjective and will vary drastically depending on the format. Many games can be crossed off the list by completing an any%-style playthrough, but some others will require more creative definitions of completion.

Now Dave understands the pain of the Sports Mix. I remember playing this game over and over on the last level with my sister trying to beat it
The pain of Mario Sports Mix comes from trying to clear Rainbow Road because it's soooo finicky on being able to actually progress or even get to it in the first place...
I love how Dave didn't like how easy it was on easy mode but then you could see his regret when he switched it to expert
With the difficulty, you have to keep in mind that you've only played it for so little of time at the easiest possible difficulty, then jumped straight into the hardest cups at the hardest difficulty. Those are meant for once you've mastered all the sports, so it's no wonder it's "too difficult"
Yeah, I think he was a little too focused on being challenged, so he ignored the opportunity to really learn the games well so he'd be ready for the challenge.
This game brings me back so much of my youth memories.
That 3v3 volleyball game at the Bowser Jr. casino deserves its own highlight reel
I will forever love this game, and I also love how this game had a build in button combination to 100% a save file lol

Watching this and realizing that Dave isn't really much of a Final Fantasy fan makes me sad, but it was still fun watching him take on a King Behemoth ✌️

Finally, the one video where I can claim this, I am abnormally good at Mario Sports Mix Dodgeball, I have played this mode so much and find the expert CPU’s to be a warm up game. I may not be an expert on the other three sports, but dodgeball is where my time is spent. If Nintendo ever remakes this game for the Switch or makes this game online, I will probably be playing dodgeball competitively. Glad DGR finally played this, also I know some bizarre glitches in dodgeball, like game changing glitches.
Mario Sports Mix was one of the first Mario sport games i played, and it intrigued me so much, and i love the more uncommon sports, like you said, and i have a brother and parents that i played it with which did make it a lot more enjoyable
Wow, this is so epic. I love how creative Nintendo does those sports games, like with tennis too. Like there would actually be all these powerups and special stages with different phsyics and that. And just like Mario tennis, it has these bosses too, and they are from Final Fanstasy, my man! Yeah, it's just so creative must I repeat out loud. I also loved that minigame where it played a variation of the underwater theme.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this one; this was my introduction to some Final Fantasy characters like Cactuar. Haven't played it in years, so I'm curious to see how it holds up!
This was my childhood and i remember 100% completing it with my brother. We would search up guids on the ancient RUclips we had back then.
İ really love this game me and my dad use to play this for hours the best thing with this game is the course selection. The final boss was incredibly hard there was times i realy wanted to leave the game forever. And thank you for reminding this game to me i will be playing it again as soon as possible
I remember playing this game all the time growing up! It was a blast!
I used to play this game a lot with my brother, and I completely agree that playing with a family member or friend makes it a lot better. We used to do the tournaments together to try to unlock all of the characters, though, and the extreme difficulty and luck needed to get a new character felt like such a burden.
I played this game to death as a kid. I loved being able to experience the mario sports flare in multiple sports within the same game and while I didn't know much about final fantasy at the time, seeing the crossover blew my mind. Not to mention all of the alternate paths and minigames that were available to do within the tournament mode. While the expert difficulty can be pretty brutal, I loved the challenge it provided. Definitely something I need to play again
I was particularly excited for this video because I played this a bunch with my friends and one time I had a party and it was stolen and it’s been sad boy hours ever since

I'm sorry, but every time Dave got bested by the CPUs after using the cheat code, my only thought was "Deserved." XD XD

This game was my childhood. I allmost unlocked every skin colour for the characters. That took soo long. You Have to play with the cactus sometime. He's crazy fun to play as ^^
I actually enjoyed this game on its time. I played it with a friend, and oh boy it was hard. But really really fun to play.

I loved this game and Mario Hoops 3 on 3, but yeah I remember the harder difficulties being brutal. I don't think I ever got to that final boss in this game

I still own this game and honestly I didn't know it had final fantasy characters or a story mode. Thought the final boss was epic twist. I only ever played this game a few times with my nephew and we both found it insanely boring. I got it thought we would love it as we both loved the mario baseball game.

I am not normally a fan of Waluigi, but I mained him this game in every sport because he is insane with 4 hits per special meaning 4x damage, 4x point, or 4x chances to make shots. Usually I'd run Waluigi, White Mage (for the AoE ball grab), and Cactaur in most sports and it was so nice.
all i could think of was how much i used to enjoy mario 3on3 for the ds :)
i remember so much of this game as a kid me finally beating the final cup at my brother’s swim party and me saying just give me a moment beating it then the twist taking 30 mins more than intended and i knew that dave would time out but in volleyball i o reuse blocking and that is how i won most of the hard games volleyball was my best sport and basketball was my worst so i was on the other spectrum then dave i just love this game and still play it when i feel like it with some of my siblings it is just a fun game but definitely long at times i just love the game though

The thing I'm caught up on... Why are there classic Final Fantasy characters in a Mario game. That was Vivi/Red Mage, White Mage, Fighter. I'm not complaining, but why are they there?

Ok but can we talk about how weird it is that they just put final fantasy characters in a Mario sports game?? It confused me so much as a kid
Back in my day, we used more than one dodgeball, and we actually had to DODGE! XD Those that caught the ball were either out or the person that threw it was out. Even if you were grazed by a ball, you'd be out. No one had a certain amount of times they could be hit. On top of that, we had 50% of the class vs 50% of the class usually, and that could consist of like 20v20 and each side started with half the amount of balls vs players on the team, per team. Furthermore, no one on the team was allowed to cross the center line or they would be automatically out. I don't understand the rules of the dodgeball game on this game. XD
