@@revel911 yeah, I do too. But I was actually happy till Soundtrack. That and Reroute, although a new direction, were still heavy and interesting. The one thing that put me off is when Anders starting crooning/singing a lot more from Come Clarity on. Not that I have any issue with clean vocals, I just think he's not particularly good at it. Or at least he wasn't then. But that's just my opinion, I respect them anyway cause they helped me through a lot at the turn of the century. Change is fine with me, I just don't listen to their new stuff anymore.
He's been sounding that nu-ish for years now. If he screamed like 1:50 the whole time, I'd agree (notice the difference between it and his new style at 4:12).
Pretty hilarious how he's playing a 7-string when Bjorn is playing a 6-string. Chris is obviously tuned to a drop B-flat on the first six strings, but that seventh one is either tuned to G or F (depending on how he likes his string tension).
I reckon it would be rad if he absolutely let loose in at least one song. I’m sure he’ll lay down some fitting leads and harmonies. If we’re lucky, he might get a few riffs in there.
@@antology7 he must feel a bit restrained, but probably enjoying himself anyways. What happened to Niklas. As far as I know he didn't have a falling out with the band.
He went to hospital days before their 2019 tour. He’s been strongly advised by his doctors not to tour, which is why Broderick is filling in. Recently he has recorded music for The Halo Effect with ex-In Flames members.
This doesn't feel like In Flames anymore. Same with Dark Tranquillity, it's just Mikael Stanne, Branström and 4 session members. The Halo Effect is the new sh**
Wow, didn't recognize any of the musicians apart from Björn and Anders, then I realized it's Chris Broderic on 2nd guitar, which is pretty mental on the one hand. But is this the future of IF, the two old guys and some sessions musicians to fill in? Would be great to see them in such a tight club again, but In guess that place could be taken be Halo Effect.
U find at the small gigs their all true fans from day one till the night of the gig and beyond .... not purist era folk where the heaviest era is the best simply because its the heaviest era!

I seriously hope Chris isn’t joining in flames. And Bjorn has some good chops. But Chris is on a whole other level. Don’t get me wrong I like in flames. But Chris puts Bjorn to shame. And it would suck to have Chris just play rhythm. They sound sick here.
Stoped listening after reroute. Probably the single most important band for me growing up in terms of expanding past mainstream. Opened the doors to everything else for me. That being said everything after reroute is pretty much buttcheeks.
Have you heard The Halo Effect yet? It's members have all been in In Flames at one point or another, and even sounds like Jester-era In Flames at times.
@@iFailGames yea definitely a nostalgia trip cause I love both in flames and dark tranquility and it sounds like they combined some of their best eras from both bands for halo effect for sure.
At a metal show everyone can behave whatever he wants actually, you can be crazy, you can be at the bar drinking beer or you can stay somewhere safe and chill.
@@TrulyStucker that actually depends, I've seen Slayer and Pantera, there is nowhere "safe", front to back and side to side was one giant sea of pit. Lamb of God, Machine Head, Trivium, Hatebreed, and depending on the era, In Flames, all very similar.
@@jasonnielsen5976 it's super rare case, I've been on 200+ gigs in different countries and never seen anything like that. I'm saying that in most cases you can find a chill place (near the entrance, near door to a toilet, near a bar). There is always a spot near soundboard where it's more safe to stand.
@@TrulyStucker mine have always been in America, and I lost count years ago, and I'm certainly not suggesting that all shows are like that, but it's certainly a chance one takes.
Anders sings growling because he can't sing clean voices or old gutturals anymore. It sounds ok, but It is not like the old voices. Real in flames are the halo effect
Bands can change in time, actually the should evolve. But unfortunately, In Flames did not evolve, it lost it's soul, it's core, it's musical dna in last years. When I first listened Halo Effect, I told to myself that "damn, this is what a current day In Flames should have been sound " without any prior information about the band members. So, I am totally agree with you, Real In Flames is the Halo Effect.
Nice to see a monster like Broderick playing again in a big band. He has always seem a nice guy and is an amazing player, but.... This brand, my friends, is dead ; with all respect. It's the age of The Halo Effect
That was best quality In Flames live video I've seen on RUclips 😈
Thank you 🤘🤘

yeah! I'm just wondering if it was recorded with a cellphone or video camera.

In Flames like in the old days...small clubs, sold out shows, having fun and sounding fucking brutal! YEAH!
Was such an awesome night 🙌
Good to see them play some of the classics in recent times. Clayman and Colony are both solid representations of Scandinavian metal.
Damn, Anders sounds ferocious 🤘🔥🔥🤘 those lower register growls are perfect, hope he does some of that on the new album!
Honestly, he sounded so good last night! 🤘🤘
They lost me ages ago, but I must admit this sounds awesome. I haven't heard Anders soundings like this for a long time. Kudos

Fuck, Anders performance is outstanding on this one !
I got the original/classic line up of IF to sign a flag of Sweden. Peter, Daniel, and yes, Jesper signed their names. I’m very proud of that artifact.
