FUCKING AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! HUGE fan of this guitar sound!
Thanks man! 🤘🔥
Glenn, I think Euge would be an utterly awesome guest on your channel. Ridiculously talented guitar player and seems like a very cool guy from his videos
Would be cool! Hit me up with an email Glenn if you’d be up for that: evalovirta@gmail.com
Dude you should have Euge on your channel sometime, I think your viewers would really appreciate his insight
Unbelievable track that could have absolutely been on Colony or Clayman!
Thanks Garett!
@@EugeValovirta230V I really like in flames. But i dont know all their songs ect.
And i really thought that you
1. played an original in flames song
and 2. played an original in flames track in the background.
Huge respect, man!
Oh cool thanks man! 🙏☺️
For a few seconds I honestly believed that too😅
I thought to myself: " what the hell, I'm supposed to know and be able to identify ANY In Flames song...what have I missed here?!"
Then after a few more seconds I realized that he was playing something else that was just supposed to sound similar haha
Anyway absolutely impressive Euge!
Thanks! We actually recorded & finished that track properly with Cyhra and it’s on the forthcoming album 🤟.
Love this tone so much. As a big fan of old melodeath and 2000s metalcore, this tone is pretty much perfect for these genres.
Indeed 💪👌
Jesus, that Intro. I would buy an album of songs like that. Clicked the Subscribe button because of it!
The world needs more "Jester Race to Colony" era In Flames records from before they became... well, whatever they are now.
I spoke to Bjorn once, right around the end of that period, and he told me the key to his sound was "5150's, EMG's, and a lot of wood."
Glad to hear!
That sums it up pretty well 👌😎.
Lunar Strain was a great album as well, and we can’t forget the Subterranean EP.
Thick neck & body ’cos at the end of the day electric guitar works kinda like acoustic guitar: the more (good quality) wood, the fuller (better) the sound 😎.
@Vinter Just repeating verbatim what Bjorn told me. :) My guess is that he was referring to his Les Paul Custom (which is a pretty hefty guitar) and the 4x12 cabs he used to record as well. Not 100% sure what those were but I believe at the time, Studio Fredman kept ENGL 4x12's around. Not sure if Bjorn used those or Marshall cabs. Small chance it was a Mesa 4x12 but I doubt it.
@@TheGgreen100 I don’t think that’s ALWAYS true, but then again, I only have anecdotal evidence to go off of, so take my reply with a grain of salt. I noticed out of all my guitars, my Flying V’s tend to sound the best, both plugged in and acoustically. I even use the same pickups in most of my guitars (other than my 7 string because they don’t make these pups for 7s), EMG Het Set. Their bodies are also all made of Mahogany. The fretboard and neck woods kinda vary, so it’s not the most consistent and fair comparison, so again, take what I’m saying with a grain of salt.
That intro song brought smile to my face. Definitely captures the spirit from that era! Great in-depth content
Thanks man!
Intersecting harmony then bringing back down with width is masterful. Late to the party on this but its beautifully done and explained. Thank you.
Many thanks!
You absolutely nailed it. Not just the tone, but In Flames would struggle to write a better In Flames song than that. Well done.
Thanks! 🤟🙏😎
Bleeding Out or Us Against the World.. dummy
Dam this is the video I was waiting !
Glad to hear!
so great to have these inside stories from you!
Glad to hear! 😎
This song sounds like the Reroute era with some elements of their more classic records from the late 90s.
And it made it’s way to our latest album 🤟: ruclips.net/video/PJsccYq9mHs/видео.htmlsi=SPUPH0tKmH0RGD8s
I appreciate these amazing videos you keep releasing!
Thanks! Glad to hear!

In 20 years I couldn't find better albums than Jester's race and Whoracle.
Check out Orbit Culture lol
Oh look a new In Flames song i never heard. That sounded really good and spot on and i appreciate the work you put into this all and thanks for sharing!
Thanks! We did it properly with Cyhra and it’ll be on our forthcoming album out via Nuclear Blast in 2023 🤟.
Great stuff, struggled for so long to get that early sound. What they did was absolutely amazing!
Thanks! Indeed.
Old video but new appreciation, excellent!
Love the final guitar tone!!! Also really cool videos breaking down the mixes, thanks!

That was the best mixing, songwriting, arrangement and guitar theory lesson I've seen so far!
Glad to hear! Thanks!
Thank you for making this video. Really great insights into early In Flames sounds! I know that I'm not alone in wishing there were more "classic In Flames" type melodic death metal bands.
Thanks! Really glad to hear this! 🤟🙏
Thanks a lot Euge for that video. This is one of the best videos out there for me. In Flames we trust. Thank you
Thanks! Really glad to hear this! 🙏☺️

Thanks!
This has helped me get the hang of their style. Much appreciated..
Glad to hear! Thanks!
Your channel is pure Gold! This kind of knowledge is priceless! Thanks for sharing. Regards from México
Thanks! Really glad to hear!
Euge, your style from the moment you open your video to the end with no hype is perfect! You're real! Back in late '99, I heard Colony, then a couple of years later Reroute to Remain blew me away that no other metal scene has done. Since then In Flames sound has been a favorite! Thank you for the breakdown of your take of the In Flames classic sound. I always and do really appreciate your approach and willingness to share your valuable musical intellect! Always look forward to your videos, Thank you!
Oh thanks Nacio! Really glad to hear! 🙏☺️
Great video! The intro song was great 🤘🤘

New to the channel and what a bundle of knowledge! Having a day of from work and enjoying morning coffee with the video. Will start to try out these tips in practice next. Going to in flames gig next week so why not to nerd out on their sound and songs beforehand =)
Oh cool! Thanks!
Siiiiccccckkkkkkk. thanks for the great video
Thanks man!
Awesome as ever! 👍👌🤘
Thanks Dan!
I was like a small child whatching this video, these 3rds are the thing i connect the most when riffing, can't expained what i feel when i listen to those patterns. sounds BIG
As an In Flames fan i can tell you, that song you've made is top top notch, could be apart of an In Flames album for sure, well done Euge \m/
Thanks Paulo! Glad to hear! 😎🔥🤘
The chorus part is simply heavenly! Thanks a lot! 😎
Glad you like it!
That tune is ripping! Great job man!
I am expecting more In Flames related stuff from your channel too :)
Thanks Zach!
You absolutely nailed this. I've seen tutorials like this before and thought "yeah, it's close, but it's not quite like the real thing", but THIS was completely accurate!
Also, that original song you made in the style of In Flames was incredible. It sounded great AND actually sounded like an In Flames song.
I'm so used to these kinds of videos not living up to my expectations that this really blew me away. Also, nice audio quality, cool camera angle, nice lighting, and good editing.
Thanks! Really glad to hear! ☺️🙏
All of your videos are very interesting, engaging and just very enjoyable. This is my new favourite channel.
Oh thanks man! Really glad to hear this! 🙏☺️
@@EugeValovirta230V I believe in giving credit where it’s due…..and it’s definitely due to what you do on your channel. Top stuff.

Amazing video! Thank you very much!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Glad to hear! Thanks!
I do appreciate your aesthetics.
🤟
Euge, can you and Jesper just make an new ‘In Flames’ album already?
Throughly enjoyed the video, keep up the good work. 🤘🏻
I guess Jesper had made enough of them already and that doesn't really interest him anymore :-). But some of the Cyhra stuff is quite similar guitar wise ;-).
Thanks! Glad to hear!
@@EugeValovirta230V from the sound of your reply it sounds like you’ve tried already 😂😂
I’ll be sure to check out some more Cyhra stuff.
😎
You will like the Cyhra stuff, it has a similar vibe although has it's own thing going
@@EugeValovirta230V Seems like Jesper and guys are back with "The Halo Effect" 🙂
Björn Gelotte is one of my favorites. I know he was the drummer in those however I even bought his signature bone white LP.
Thanks for making this video brings back memories of seeing them live and hearing that incredible tone.
Glad to hear & thanks!
He still played guitar as well.
Great song!!
Thanks! We made a proper version on it with Cyhra and it’s on our forthcoming third album which will be released later this year by Nuclear Blast 🤟.
What a geat video, amazing musician you are!
Thanks Jason! 🙏☺️
Just made a old in flames style song myself so this particularly interests me lol great vid and nice song
Cool! Thanks!
Even as a non-guitar player/person with no musical talent, I've loved this guitar tone from the first second it hit my ears. Early IF hold a special place for me, so it's beyond cool to learn about the "magic" behind it. Thank you for posting this! Also, as others have said, you nailed it with your original song. Great work.
Thanks Brandon! Glad to hear! 🙏☺️
Instant like. Keep it up.
Glad to hear! I will 😎.
Man, I love how you deep dive vids
Thanks Wayne! 🙏☺️
Amazing bro!!!! I love In Flames.
Thanks!
@@EugeValovirta230V You are wellcome E!!!!
Man this is gold.
I think the community would welcome if you and Jesper would make an album summarizing the style of Jester Race - Clayman in an new modern original way with what you can do now.
Thanks and much love!
I love this so much!!! Such beauty in the playing , tone , theory, and melody! Thank you sir !
Glad you like it! Thanks! And we made a real song out of it:

This song is epic! I am a huge fan of what you do!
Thanks! Really glad to hear!
awesome video!
Thanks!
Many thanks to you! It sounds really awesome and obviously might be a good track for anybody (either In Flames or your own band)! It is interesting approach to combine two different tracks in each channel. One gives more agression and second - give the body to the sound. Thank you for your effort, have just subscribed for you
Yeah it’s an old trick that’s been used on so many records (myself included) and can do wonders to the overall tone.
Thanks! 🙏
@@EugeValovirta230V perfect trick! I am going to try this approach asap))
What can you say about the guitar tone of Children of Bodom and Dimmu Borgir? Do they use the same trick for their records?
No idea about Dimmu but being in a Bodom recording session it was the basic way and no tricks 😎👌. Guitar - cable - amp.
