Donna Douglas was one of the most beautiful women in my opinion but her heart was big too and she had a great personality such a sweet person
I think so too.
strange seeing and hearing her as she really is Im so use to her as elly may.
@@hifijohn If you haven't already, but interested in seeing some of her range as an actress, check out the Twilight Zone episode, "In the eye of the beholder". This was prior to her Beverly Hillbillies portrayal.
@@donquixote... I've seen it a few times over the years. The one where normal people had pig faces.
Such a simple time in game shows; No flashing lights, no drama, just fun and entertaining. And this is perhaps the most iconic set of 1966/67!
Also I love how mostly self-contained the desk is.
There's definitely someone under the desk pushing the words up. Very funny.
It was a more cerebral time in America, back when high school students could read cursive.
But there were FANTASTIC women 🙂
Jack Cassidy was a very good player. Brilliant clue by Jack with “dictionary”
I just like the way Allen Ludden makes his introductory formal entrance as he enters the studio, during the show. Jack Cassidy looked quite handsome as always. Thank you for all these memorable souvenirs. Johnny, Montréal, Canada.
Everytime I see any old clip of Donna Douglas I fall in love.
Oh you're not the only one. What a hottie.
So enjoying these classic games, thank you for uploading.
Wonder if Donna always wore her hair like that back then, seems she was in character as Elly May, such a sweet person, great smile. And lord....David Cassidy was the spitting image of his father Jack....WOW! May they both RIP.
Donna Douglas went to Kenneth E Hagins Bible College And became a minister and a motivational speaker
And a sexy lady
Allen:" Tell us what brings you to New York Mrs. Fisher.
Mrs. Fisher: "Well I'm here to drop off 2 kids and go on vacation with my husband."
That killed me for some reason! 😂😂😂
That sounds like such a great idea to me!! 😁
If you listen to what she actually said , she was visiting her parents ,( with whom she " dropped off the kids" ) then go on vacation. Make sense to me !!
@@Misswiskers4 Soo much sense! I'm ready for that! 😂
Donna Douglass was always so attractive and sweet.
I always like Jack Cassidy. It was so sad and shocking to hear of his death in the mid-1970's.
Jack was a good actor but kind of creeped me out ( in the Bob Crane vein )
It shocked me more to hear of his son's death.
Definitely a creep.
I was really surprised it took the man playing with Jack Cassidy so many times before he got the word "tan" correct. That was a no-brainer. I wanted to add that Jack Cassidy was an amazing player.
"He and She" won the Emmy for Best Comedy Series AFTER it was cancelled!
Three-time killer on Columbo for Cassidy.
Yes he was
He could and would have done more IMO if not for his death in December 1976
From what I've read, Donna Douglas was just as beautiful inside as outside. Godly woman, too.
Omg. Jack looks just like David😵😳😱😱😳😳
I love Donna Douglas...(she was a lover a animals in real life too)...love her! :)
Love her too...for the same reason.
she really COULD talk to them
She called them "critters."
Donna became a wonderful woman of God. I met her in a church service where she was a guest speaker. Afterwards there was a receiving line where she was praying for everyone. I was last in line and waited for 3 hours. We had a little sit down and talk since everyone else had left except for the pastor. She had a gift and said some things pertaining to my life. After that she spoke a wonderful prayer for me.
Nice to know that about Donna
Back when women were beautiful inside and out.
That’s beautiful
And she really did love animals like her Hillbillies character.
It's a lovely testimony to hear from your experience thank you
She (Donna) reminds me a bit of Dolly Parton - personality-wise
Isa Barzizza & Anne Vernon are two of my 'Top league' women. I guess that I would add Nanette Fischer to that list. This show had FANTASTIC women.
Wow that Donna was so clever trying to get that phrase sounding like""" horse and "buggy"""and she says Orson like an Orson Beane
Wow, David had so many of his dad's mannerisms.
🌲🍀🐾Fun to watch these actors intermingle with the rest of us. Especially the lovely Donna👀💚🐾🍀🌲.
Donna Douglas was without a doubt one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Stunning!
Donna was so pretty , no doubt that helped her get the park in BH.
Her figure was as good or better than Marilyn Monroes too
Not even close
David Cassidy has his dad's smile and dimples but not his nose 👍
and his dad's beatings.
Check out a truly comedic performance by Jack Cassidy in the Bette Davis movie "Bunny O'Hare."
Donna Douglas was super hot and so sweet my oh my.
Just one of a dozen or so fine women from that era that didn't feel the need to dress like hoochie mama's to ooze with desirability
Donnan Douglas is a bonafide babe!!!
Strong genetics Singer David Cassidy looked a lot like his handsome Dad. Got his good looks & alcoholism passed on to family members as Diabetes is. Jack Cassidy passed out drunk on the couch with a cigarette in hand. Died in the fire crawling his way 2 door from smoke inhalation ! Never know when it's Ur last day.
David never looked like his father Jack IMO. Always thought he must look like his mother.
I think Jack was surprised by 'Supper Club'.
Ann can't keep her hands off Jack
Back when women were beautiful, inside and out.
Praise God
Yes Donna was a babe❤
Surprising they let Donna's two word clue (Horse and) slip by. The other contestant had a legitimate beef.
I saw this being filmed many times they would do all five in one day and it was filmed at the Ed Sullivan theater
I think it would been hilarious after the "horse'in" incident if the password would have been "cheat"
Donna was even prettier in person than on TV
Love to play this game with my friends I was great at it still play it to this day so much fun
I was waiting for Jack to kill somebody and then Columbo shows up 😅😅
🤠
She Is So Beautiful Eli May Clampett ❤
Jack Cassidy reminds me of John Barrymore.
RIP Donna
yes, she is.
Donna feels smart..... this arrived hours ago...
"Kithin'" and "Horsein'" by Donna Douglass would never have been allowed later on Password Plus (at least after the first few weeks) or Super Password. Allen Ludden and Jack Cassidy even admitted she violated the rules. I feel for the opposite contestant. She got cheated, but that was a less litigious society, so what could she do?
Notice that Jack Cassidy got away with singing "Let there be" as a clue for "music" in the lightning round.
@@tamihockman9544 Touche!
If the word was "kin," should could've done it simply with "kith."
@@519djw6 She was trying to imply, "and." as in, "kith AND kin." That was the cheat.
@@tamihockman9544 The show back then was always loose in the Lightning Round. With no competitor, no one was harmed.
You should look up some of Peter Lawford's rounds. He'd do whole sentences.
How did she get away with "horse an'" for a clue? Dr. Reason A. Goodwyn must've been taking a cigarette break.
I like Allen ludden so callled public service thoughts at the end of the program using one word like extra to go into something people should think about. He and Betty White are a prefect couple who cannot love them both
Last contestant Mrs Johnson she reminds me so much of Mrs Johnson on Dark Shadows. She's got the same tightly comb whatever we call it beehive? Doesn't she look like the cleaning caretaker ms. Johnson
They should have provided lists from a thesaurus and let the participants pick and chose from it. And I just don't see the point in spoiling it for the audience by saying the word in question.
It is more entertaining watching someone try to put the puzzle/words together when you're not also trying to figure it out.
And, He & She the Jack Cassedy series was cancelled! lol
like how jack says looosiana... makes a connection to her
Donna Douglas and I are from the same home town: Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her family name was Doris Smith. In the 1950's she was known as Dot Bourgeois (from a brief marriage, name pronounced "Boozh-wah"). In the late 1950's (or very early 1960's) she changed her name legally to Donna Douglas. I don't know the "official" reason, but I'd guess her agent felt "Bourgeois" was too ethnic sounding.
Who does the first lady guest remind me of?
@iwantthe80sback59 Although far prettier than Jackie Kennedy.
“Horse’n” should not have been allowed as a clue for Buggy. Perhaps it was accepted because the good doctor was smitten with Donna.
Her clue was "Orson". Allen mentioned it @18:56
@@20alphabet No she said "horse 'n. As in horse 'n buggy. Allen was joking when he said "As in Orson Bean."
@Elspeth On another show Betty White used the clue "Sugarin" for the password "spice." And they let that slide too.
@@wordivore
Lol, you cannot be that stupid.
Everyone loves Donna and so does everyone else yeah Donna was super super hot you don’t get much prettier than Donna.
Somebody needs a cold shower
Why didn't they bust him when he said let there be because that's more than one word as a clue
To bad He and She didn't turn out as good as Allen had hoped for.
Not fair for Donna.
Why not? She wasn't an idiot.
Popamatic!
Great clue! I just googled and the Pop-O-Matic Trouble game was released in the US in 1965. Your clue would be very relevant here! 😀
She was such a beautiful lady
This game show is similar to The $100,000 PYRAMID game show.
Tony, an old school guy
60-year-old BLACK US AIR FORCE VET 🇺🇸✈ and GOD-fearing PATRIOT🇺🇸👀
8:46 His accent is called Mid-Atlantic, a fake- not -quite- English.
The players didn't win much. Bet the host did.
it almost makes me weep how thoroughly my people have been removed from amerikan culture...
He and she barely made it through a full season, 26 episodes.
Donna would be a great roll in the hay
You can definitely tell this was designed for women.
"He And She" was not the hit of the season.
She had it all donald
Well I was 3 years old when this played. I wonder if
Mom was watching it🤔🤔
Just looking it up, "Password" in that time period seems very cheap. But $350 in 2024 dollars is about $3,200. Still kinda cheap, though.
OMG!!! Giving the Navy Lt. that win on "waitress" for the (now) archaic word "Stewardess"??? Alan Ludden: "Basically the same thing". How misogynistic!!
Sorry but it's odd to hear Donna Douglas with just a trace of a Southern accent. And also sorry? For some reason Jack Cassidy always rubbed me the wrong way....still, he died tragically. Wouldn't wish that in anyone.
yeah he evidently was a terrible father to his children.
Jack was smart
Haven’t seen a guy pull out a chair for a female in.. 80 years🥴
