EM was extremely articulate using clear English and diction. Nothing like the incompetent use of language today by most celebrities or media people ! America USA has so declined in quality of commuication and other characteristics as well...ugh 😣🙃😥
Oh, I just loved to see this! They are so classy and formal, lol! I used to love watching Password when I was a kid. Elizabeth is so poised and beautiful, it made me tear up as I watched. I miss her --Alan too.
You can just see her mind constantly working. Smart lady. Her animated expressions are what Jennifer Aniston seemingly stole from her, though I like them both, LOL.
Yes. I'm from Kensington and Chelsea; in London. Our language was aligned. These days it's not. I spose it changed in the 1980s, possibly late 1970s. These days my friends and I; barely understand the spoken word by your great country. Often having to put subtitles on-screen in films (movies) for example. Best wishes to you. I still love 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🤝 🇺🇸
Everything's hip hop nowadays. This is a blast from the past, a breath of fresh air. The audience was so respectful and didn't clap or make noise till the right time.
I"ve noticed this as well, mens fashions sometimes are timeless I guess, neat! Elizabeth is so pretty in this, it's like seeing a lost episode of Bewitched, "Samantha Plays Password".....
I know some people comment "they should bring the old shows back" but I do not agree, as the game show contestants (meaning the general public), and game show hosts nowadays tend to be loud, tacky, obnoxious, quite ignorant and over the top "enthusiastic". The qualities that made these shows very pleasant to watch were the good manners, elegance, poise, intelligence and humility of both contestants and host. That's why we are nostalgic about a time that has long passed, never to return.
And many wonder what was the TRUE consequence of the Vietnam War? Followed by the financial event(s) of 1971 .. (Vietnam was effectively lost in 1968.) Since Sept. 11, 2001, society as a whole has become effectively paranoid and scared ................... shiteless! We have become drones pretending to be happy ..
Oh, I don't think that's entirely true or fair. Jeopardy is quite similar in tone to Password, valuing brainwork and strategy more than outsized personalities. And it's one of the most popular and talked-about game shows on the air. Another show in this vein I'd love to see return is the $25,000 (or $100,000) Pyramid. Which has a lot of similarities of play style as Password, now that I think of it.
Jason Patrick These people wanting the old shows back are talking about doing it the way it was done in the past. That is indeed possible if viewers watch and refuse to watch when the contestants, host and entertainers act or speak inappropriately. And why say that the good things you mention are never to return? They would if not only people would watch shows containing them, but it also takes us letting our friends and family know the good things we watch and refusing to watch the inappropriate things with them.
Whenever I used to see Peter Lawford on any talk show I used to feel like I was crashing some sort of exclusive Hollywood party! He always seemed to bring some sort of "insider" vibe to wherever he was.
When the clues clicked before her partner gave her the hint for bacteria, it was all over Liz's face that she knew the word. Liz beat Peter Lawford at 20 seconds.
It certainly seems that TEACHING was the career to get into back in the 60's and 70's bc all the password and old game shows i have watched so many of the contestants are going into or already are "Teachers" too bad we never paid them well and now its not the career of choice, being a "Creator" on youtube is! lol times have changed!
My late mother was a first grade teacher beginning in the late '50s, up until the dawn of the '70s - when she took what was to have been a temporary leave of absence to finally start a family, only to have it become permanent retirement from her chosen profession; the same one held by both my late grandmothers, and many other relatives on both sides of my family, up to the present day. I can recall Mom stating many times over the years that things were already starting to change for the worse by the time she made her involuntary exit, ca. 50 years ago - both in student behavior, as well as administrative practices.
And, if one attempts to be a REAL teacher via RUclips .. Google/Alphabet will NOT -- allow it! It would seem that the more successful "Creator" must adhere to the axiom .. "panem et circenses" to past muster with the "gatekeepers" today! Rome never fell .. Just changed its face! Juvenal is as correct today as he was in his own day ..
Giving "fungus" as a clue for "bacteria" threw everyone off for several cycles. Fungi and bacteria are no more closely-related than vegetables and bacteria. Same with "algae" and "bacteria." Not at all the same.
For any of the younger people who might not know, a go-go dancer was someone (usually a woman) who was hired to entertain nightclub patrons with solo dancing. There was a point in history when they were suspended from cages above the audience, and there were some cases where they danced topless. It was essentially a 1960s/70s mild version of burlesque.
As I replied elsewhere here. Regarding the politeness and spoken word. Quote: Yes. I'm from Kensington and Chelsea; in London. Our language was aligned. These days it's not. The word Scale is interesting. In the context of an object for weighing I always say “Scales”. The color episodes seem more relaxed (less formal) than the b&w ones. I don’t think it’s just that they are in color. Also, the rule about gesturing isn’t adhered to as much.
For "Bacteria," even as the 1st clue - spoken/sung in that "Passwordian" way (trailing up and extending the musical note of the last syllable) saying "Viiiiirus??...." I would say if not for the 1st clue it would've worked for the 2nd.
Interesting, I don't know if it was either invented/discovered yet or not but for "Trench," today, in any event, I would have given the clue "Mariana.....?" (the Mariana Trench is the deepest trench on earth ... obviously in the ocean :-)
This is the early era of Montgomery Password appearances where she's still rather sweet and "wholesome. In later years (during the 1970's), like her character on Bewitched, EM became much more serious and edgy. She often got angry and/or frustrated with her team mate and was even bleeped out on several occasions.
Back when classy stars did regular TV shows. I miss those days
Classy?????
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I can’t get over how cute Elizabeth’s gestures and expression are.
I get why my dad always had a major crush on her
She's one in a million! Beautiful and that smile. Melts your heart.
well put
My girl reminds me so much Lizzie!!!
Tell me about it. I'm still stuck on her, after all these years.
Super gorgeous looking actress& very pretty lady
She was so attractive!
This is one lady that left us too soon.
I watched Bewitched all the time. RIP 🙏 Elizabeth Montgomery 😢
Elizabeth Montgomery’s facial expressions are everything!
Elizabeth was so fine, smart, animated, Classy and, humble!! R.I.P. to her, Martin & Allen!!
LIz and Martin are excellent players! Great to see this great game played so well!
Love how genuine and funny Liz Montgomery is. Her thinking faces are hilarious! (And Martin Landau-what a hunk!) Thank you for uploading!
Montgomery exuded charm, sincerity, wit and self-deprecation. A thoroughly delightful woman.

Yes, she was amazing. And taken from us way too soon. I adored the show Bewitched!
She had class.
Nothing special about her. Just because she was on TV doesn't make her special.

@@bethe192 i wouldn't say stole as by the time Jennifer Aniston got her break, Elizabeth Montgomery had long since passed away.
@@chrismc410 Well, Jennifer did have some notable roles before Friends, and Elizabeth was still alive at the time.
She looks super gorgeous looking in that episode: wow; legendary& great actress
I love Elizabeth Montgomery! I grew up watching her. I wanted to be Samantha 😂
Elizabeth was a spectacular dressers. She wore the most stylish chic dresses
Liz was.not only beautiful and.talented, she was one.smart lady.
Gary I always like her so much.

Elizabeth Montgomery , absolutely gorgeous 🥰
ELizabeth had a long history with this show way into 1979....
She appeared on the show 88 times!
Not only is Liz smart but is also beautiful. RIP
Was and was
When Martin gave the clue "witch" for "hag" in a nasal tone, I knew Liz would make a remark. LOL to her "I beg your pardon" response❣
I saw her one time after she had 2 boys, she was foggy. But here she is amazing.
Love Elizabeth Montgomery!💕
Super gorgeous looking woman & actress

I didn't realize that, I always thought that way such a small amount of money
So pretty, smart and charming, Miss Montgomery
I really appreciate having Martin L on Password. He's a credit to the game.

Beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery
*I just LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE her!*
I think Liz Montgomery and Peter Lawford were the 2 best celeb participants in this show
Carol Burnett
Lynn Turman ... I agree, I think Liz Montgomery and Carol Burnett were the best. I would almost pay to see them again on RUclips.
Whenever I used to see Peter Lawford on any talk show I used to feel like I was crashing some sort of exclusive Hollywood party! He always seemed to bring some sort of "insider" vibe to wherever he was.
Betty White
i love martin landau and elizabeth montgomery they both look
so young and beautiful here
Just wanted to commend you on a great job editing and sound quality
Let’s name one female actor in 2021 who has the class, looks, and intelligence of Elizabeth Montgomery.

"Logarithmic" would have been the perfect clue for that. "..scale" is the only possible response.
For "Bacteria," even as the 1st clue - spoken/sung in that "Passwordian" way (trailing up and extending the musical note of the last syllable) saying "Viiiiirus??...." I would say if not for the 1st clue it would've worked for the 2nd.
Double dog dare from A Christmas Story.
I never saw A Christmas Story, and I said 'I double-dog dare you' all the time as a kid.
They were both on The Untouchables (1959).
Yes you are right ; I remember watching young Elizabeth poping out from a birthday cake during Gangster Party !
I can't imagine sitting next to and even touching Elizabeth Montgomery!
Jeepers!
Elizabeth 🔥 Elizabeth 🔥
Allen Ludden was so handsome. Betty White could get it!
Martin Landau was a hottie.
I want to play!! I only want to give clues, though.
Too bad, you gotta do both clues and guesses, or you can't play.
We had state monopoly TV back then. But it was very similar to this.

Everyone remembers Elizabeth Montgomery, but no one remembers Martin Landou. Bewitched was everyone's favorite.
Martin Landau, co-star of Mission Impossible, and Oscar winner for Ed Wood. I actually do remember him.
They all seemed awkward during the shows introduction.
bobby D - especially Sue. She looked annoyed.

Jack Clark and Lee Vines. I believe the latter was the one quietly announcing the words.
