    Wow Andrew another exceptionally informative Japan travel video to a special location ... the bike rental option between the two ropeways on each side of the peninsula is a great low-cost very pleasurable option, recommended ... Take the bus (or ebike) to Ine bay it's a fantastic destination and a 'must do' in the area ... Book an overnight stay in a Funaya (boat house) in Ine to experience the real feel of this unique area, or at least take the bay boat trip ... There are FREE use bicycles at the bus stop in Ine, don't overlook them like we did and wished we had known prior ... Andrew's bento from the supermarket is a SUPER tip 👍 ... No matter which options you go with just get to this area, it will remain as one of your best experiences in Japan. I have had it in my mind to return to and make it a multiple day stay.

    Went here last year. Stunning place. Highly highly recommend the ferry ride to get around. I had a very fun experience with birds flying alongside the ferry. They also have snacks you can feed them. I also walked the distance on the way back. Was a very pleasant night walk and also there's also a bit of a shore on either side to rest when i got tired.

    Hi is this itinerary doable?
    1. 8:38-10:38 am - Kyoto to Amanoshidate (is this the earliest direct train?)
    2. 10:38 am - 1 pm - View Land park
    3. 1-2 pm - travel to Ine by bus
    4. 2-4:45 - boat ride, stroll
    5. 5-6 pm - travel back to Amanohashidate from Ine by bus
    6. 7-9 pm - going back to Kyoto station

    • @japanunravelled
      @japanunravelled  2 дня назад

      You'd be better off going to Kasamatsu Park for the view because it's on the way to Ine. You should double check the bus timetable for this plan. It may be doable but it's going to feel rushed. Yes, 0838 is the earliest direct train.

      I'd just get it at the ferry ticket office in Amanohashidate. I think the tourist information in the station also sells it.

      You can board it with the Kansai Wide Pass yes, but you'll need seat reservations. Easily done at either the ticket office or machine, or online if you buy your pass through JR West.

    Im travelling with my 72 yo mum in April with Kyoto as our base. Would it be okay to just come back the ff day to continue exploring? Anyway, we are planning to get the JR Kansai Wide Area Pass + 2 day Amanohashidate/Ine Sightseeing Pass as add-on.
    Or do we have as option to go straight to Amanohashidate from Kansai Airport and just transfer to Kyoto on our 3rd day? We have our luggages though. 🤦‍♀️
    Thanks for any advice you can share.

    • @japanunravelled
      @japanunravelled  14 дней назад +1

      It's a 2hr one-way journey, so it is doable to visit on 2 days and stay in Kyoto. Might work better this way since Kyoto has many more food options in the evening. You could also look at staying in Maizuru which is nearby and a bigger place, also Fukuchiyama might be an option. Otherwise, a hotel near Kyoto station or Nijo station would be best.

    Hi. Just to clarify, if we have all day in Amanohashidate (and another day in Ine), will the 2 day pass cover all transport (bus/boat + chair lift) if we also want to go to Kasamatsu Park? Coz im thinking we can do View Land, come back down and then take the boat to Ichinomiya/Kasamatsu Park and then boat again back to Amanohashidate. Is this covered by the pass not to mention doable? Thank you!

    • @elangnevilos
      @elangnevilos 11 дней назад +1

      Also, is the pass sold online and at the ticket sales offices the same? Coz the one in Klook says "enjoy 3 major activities + local bus around Kyotango area" but it wasnt specified which 3 major activities and if this is 3 per day? 😓 But the Willer flyer says "unlimited ride"...

    • @japanunravelled
      @japanunravelled  11 дней назад +1

      The pass will cover that plan, you'll be busy but it's doable. Viewland isn't included though.

    • @japanunravelled
      @japanunravelled  11 дней назад +1

      Yeah, it's not very clear. I have a feeling that only the bus and possibly the ferry are unlimited. Best to check with tourist information www.tankai.jp/en/about-us/contact-information/

    Thank you for the guide, I do plan to go to Ine and Amanohashidate next year (mid January, so during winter). My current plan is to go from Kyoto to Amanohashidate then do a baggage drop, take a bus to Ine then go back to Amanohashidate during the evening (stay overnight in Amanohashidate). Do you think it is a good general itinerary or should I try to loosen up the schedule a bit more? Thank you

      The boat tour is the best thing to do, although you could also check out one of the eateries there. The Tango Railway has some sightseeing trains that are also worth a look. I talk about them in my Hashidate train video: ruclips.net/video/A2iWvYmhFa8/видео.html

    Hi! I have a question getting to Amanohashidate departing from Kyoto.
    Can you please give pointers how I can reserve a seat on the limited hashidate train via jr west online website? I bought the jr kansai wide pass. Was able to reserve seats online for the Kix -> Kyoto, But cannot find the Kyoto -> Amanohashidate arrival station. Do I just reserve in jr west just the Kyoto -> Fukuchiyama? And then just stay on same train until it arrives amanohashidate? since kansai wide pass also covers that route, then no other extra reservation/payment?
    And same help question for Amanohashidate -> Kyoto return route.
    Thank you in advance.. 🥹

      My wife and I have been buying our full JR passes via the JR official website and have gotten very familiar with the website. Back to your question - There is a final leg from Fukuchiyama on the Hashidate that is not covered by the pass. That is why you cannot reserve tickets for that portion of the train ride. Hope this makes sense.
