We need more videos with Nathan. We have watched all the tfl presenters improve their on-screen presence over the last decade-plus, but he was already great from the beginning.
Don't ruin it by lifting it, keep it stock, it'll handle and ride better, just get a nice set of tires for offroad/snow/road and you're good to go. Love the videos.
Lifting it 3.5 inches and you can't even notice a difference in on-road handling. It's not like a Subaru where after lifting my 2015 Forester XT, it handled like crap.
Sweet video Nathan! I’ve been watching TFL since 2012 and really enjoy your reviews and just how “real you are”. I think the Passport AWD is actually more capable than a 4x4 Laredo, which only has Quadra trac 1. The Laredo has a single speed T case with a 16.2:1 crawl ratio. (I’m not even sure if it’s a real T-case. Maybe it’s really AWD?). The Passport has a PTU (they call it a T case, but there’s no mechanical lock in speed front to rear). The Passport has a rear LSD with a 20.4:1 crawl ratio. Unless the Passport goes up against a Trailhawk or a Grand Cherokee with the quadratrac 2, the Passport is actually a little bit more capable. I’ve taken mine to imogene Pass, albeit, it’s lifted 3.5” and on 32.1” tires, and I’ve completed the entire 9 mile fins n things trail.
That's why I feel like Jeep drivers/fans just blow smoke up everyone's ass. The Cherokee is still a unibody construction. Most AWD 4x4 will get the job done with proper clearance and tires. Anyone saying this can't go off road is just gate keeping and gaslighting.

I just grabbed a 24 Trail sport, what offloading tires would you recommend?
thanks Nathan. fun video.
Best video in a long time
Awesome review!
Colorado snow/mountains are meant to hoon on lol :)
You can always spot a non local versus someone who grew up in the cold. They're dressed appropriately for the weather 😅 and wear hats and gloves inside their cars. A local would be dressed as if it was 60 degrees lol.
Didn't see enough snow to slow anything down......And My Forester with Blizzaks would have blown Your doors off......EVEN with it's little 4 banger.................Paul
*just buy a regular Honda Passport and put the Toyota TRD PRO stickers on yourself, and you will feel better* hahahaha...
I don’t think Pilot’s all wheel drive is the sa,e as Passport, Ridgeline and Passport share same All wheel drive system though.
It's the same. Actually, the Pilot and Passport share alot of the same parts. The Ridgeline has unique and more robust parts. I modified my Passport to accept Ridgeline rear springs and shocks (because there are no aftermarket springs or shocks). Ridgelines suspension is beefier.
Random Question: Will you folks be getting the 2022 Ford Ranger for review? Also, I have been trying to purchase a Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition and apparently there are some quality issues preventing them from getting shipped. Is this true?
The 22 is pretty much unchanged, 23 will be the new model, the new Tacoma will be coming out in the future to, but haven't heard much about that.
Love it....and I really like Nathan reviews
Only reason I’m not purchasing passport or pilot is because they don’t come with towing package anymore
So I guess the point of this video is to say that Honda doesn’t make off-road vehicles. At least not street legal ones.
The forester I’d say is also in that class
Nah. Forester is nowhere close. Junk cvt and weak 4 cylinder.
Why did you guys stop doing the wheel testing that Tommy used to do that tells more then these things do as the conditions are never the same to compare unlike the wheel tesing
Test the explorer timberline please
Honda takes forever to do things. (4x4s, turbo, sports cars)
They still havent made a proper offroad competitor to the 4Runner.
The 4Runner is literally a dinosaur and you’re talking about Honda taking forever to do things LOL
@@Encourageable if a 4runner is a dinosaur then all full 4x4 offroad vehicles with transfercases are dinosaurs too. Smh.
The Acadia AT4 is probably a closer competitor.
Definitely. It’s almost entirely forgotten by all of the media outlets on RUclips.
Test the Subaru DL please
Tritip in its natural habitat
Alex sounds like Greg from Succession.
Off road worthy(ness) is such a tfl expression...
It does okay, but Honda needs to improve that approach angle.
so it's in between crv and pilot. tires are tires not unless tires are bald.
Nathan turning some possessive “donut’s” 🤪😜😜
The pestilence of the unnecessary apostrophe strikes again!
I will never buy another Honda, our 2014 CRV has not lived up anywhere near the Honda’s Reputation, but I watched cause it’s The Wild Man of the TFL Team, the one and only Nathan Knievil, anything could happen 😬 funny how I’m always surprised there’s a cameraman even though I know there is, Alex you did a great job! Nathan made it back home right side up, not on fire that’s a good thing!
Need Tommy's T-bone trail
Those signs will never get out up.
That steep hill would make a nice tubbing run. 😄 just leaves some tubes up top and go down And Nathan cows like to be serenaded. Make you can sing a line or 2
Torque vectoring isn't a replacement for a differential lock, unfortunately. Those who know, know.
I wonder if a CR-V could probably make it also. Can you guys ad sand bags to simulate a SUV full of people?
I’m sure. There is no reason for this vehicle.
Reggae on the snow?
The obstacle name after Nathan is hilarious! Makes me laugh every time they mention it.
My wife has a 16 pilot with the rear limited slip, always been really impressed with it in the snow, even though I dislike the vehicle overall and will never buy a Honda again. Build quality of a 90s GM product.
Nathan is so nice and funny 😄
Yeah the jeep a better off-road vehicle... unfortunately it is also a complete lemon😂😂😂
Awsome car . . . might take it over a grand cherokee
😂
Lmao I love all the haters on this post..
The trailsport is not a rugged off roader and it's not supposed to be so all y'all need to hold you anger 😂😂
It sowks for probably 99% of the people watching the video.
Nice car !
The radio the radio the radio
The Passport's new front end is very similar to the GMC Acadia, and the rear styling is previous gen Explorer. I guess if someone couldn't decide between an Acadia and an Explorer, they could just get this.
Please do the new Ford Everest!
It’s not available in the United States.
No apostrophe needed for the word 'donuts'.
Surely one of you guys have a weedeater. Go to your hardware store and buy a brush blade head and go down to Andrea's pit and take care of some of those paint scratching bushes😊
Solid review, but you all may be overestimating the humor in these obstacle names
