There’s a sand mode, unfortunately didn’t get a chance to test it out on the sand but I’m sure it would be good too even in deep soft sand with those tires.
i almost bought one yesterday. What stopped me ? I have Ontario license , i am in SK for another 3 months and the one I want is in Edmonton. Seems like too much hustle to drive to Alberta to buy then fly to Ontario to Transfer plates and insure then fly back to AB to pickup car and drive to SK😂. I'll wait for the spring when I actually settle in AB. Can save 6 k on tax buying it there.
You got one of the best technical reviews of the pilot. It is a shame that everyone under the sun is reviewing off roadability exclusively on the trailsport. But the Elite/touring trims might be the more preferred trim for many and even then, you do expect some off road ability even if you go Elite. Some of us can't stockpile SUVs for each occasion 😅, most go crossover so it can do everything - and nowadays - to a decent degree. So quick q if I may, I understood the differences to the Elite, approach/depart angles, tyre config and scraping aside, do you think the Elite would have scaled that tough hill near the end of your test? It still should be the same AWD and decent ground clearance right? Thanks!
Thanks for the comment, the AWD is the same but something like that hill is too steep for the elite just because of the approach and departure angle, even the Trailsport couldn’t take it head on and had barely an inch of clearance left. Also the tires on the Trailsport really help with the trails and the under belly protection just gives you that much more confidence. The elite AWD is the probably the same but because of the physical limitations I wouldn’t take it on anything crazy but odds are most people will never need to take it on anything more then a dirt road.
But to answer your question if we subtracted out the approach and departure angle and just placed the car on top it’ll most likely won’t make it up just cuz of the tires but if you put on the same tires then you should have no problem.
The dampers aka shocks are standard hydro mechanical design. The trail mode has nothing to do with the shocks. It's to do with transmission and fuel delivery only
Think I saw you videoing. On the off road part. If your looking for good driving roads or trails hit me up I know lots of locations not to far where you made the video. I have some off road videos. Under “ red hood media”.
Too weak engine for the size and weight of the vehicle in an offroading role. That engine is only good for highway cruising, or suitable for a smaller offroader like the Passport.
Looks like you had some fun Driving in the Forks of the Credit.
Such a nice little Sunday drive when you get up there early.
Great review.👍
Haha yes. Thanks 👍
The Bass Pro hat is quite appropriate for this adventure. Keep up the great work!
Thank u!
The best 2023 honda pilot trailsport review so far, thanks
Thank u! :)
Really good and informative Review... Love the intro in the start...
Thank u!
Outstanding review here. I have the 2006 Pilot. This looks like a lot of advancement in off-road capability
Thank u 🙏
Missing one major element. At least one diff lock but I can appreciate real skid plates
pilot is almost perfect. If they can get rid of timing belt and VCM, then it can go down as the best SUV
Outift matches the video vibes, spot on review dude!
the pilots new look reminds me of of the Gen 1 look just modernized
I see it lol
Great job on the video, I like to see the Honda Trail Sport perform on the beach

Can the engine noise injection be turned off?
Wow great video and production. You need more subscribers
Thank u, hopefully more to come!
For almost $60k Canadian starting price, why does it still have: hood prop, timing belt, incandescent rear turn signal indicators?
Pilot over Highlander! W Honda
💯
I’m a Toyota loyalist but I gotta agree. Pilot seems to be better in every way
Correction: Trailsport is a 7 seater only. Cool review. Looking to get this new Pilot.
Good catch!
7 seater not 8 rear camera only in Canada and no trailer plug with that beautiful hitch. The only cons we have but great vehicle 😊

haha yeah ON taxes are horrible compared to AB
7:04 how come no other reviewer shows this feature? I like this tire traction monitoring system by Honda; very innovative.
Haha not sure, thank u!
I expected it to have fully digital gauge cluster and ventilated seats for the first and second rows at this price.

Great question, great answer. I was looking into the touring model b/c of the extra amenities.
Amazing video.
Does the Trailsport come with a full sized spare tire? Thank you.
Yes I believe so
It's the only pilot to have a full size, same tire and rim spare.
does anyone know where this offroad trail is in caledon, ON. thanks.
DM me on IG
Honda Canada website shows the starting price of $59,584 for the 2023 Honda Pilot Trailsport.

The Trailsport does not have a removable middle seat on the 2nd row. It has permanent captain chairs.
Great video, Pilot looks like Explorer
Front is explorer back is ascent. Honestly looks good though so I’m not complaining
Do you remember if it has a trail cam ?
Sorry I don’t remember anymore, I believe it does though but it’s country specific to Canada only and not US.
No real rear bumper protection
FYI, the "trailsport" is a 7 seater!
Yes youre correct
Think I saw you videoing. On the off road part.

Didn’t know dude from walking dead did car reviews
lmao yeah im glenn

Great video, keep up the versatility of cars!
