    I fat fingered the width of the reference stance in sizing. Sorry! Here are the correct specs.
    Front Insert: Freestyle 26.8 cm. Freeride 26.6 cm
    Back Insert: Freestyle 26.6 cm. Freeride 26.8 cm

    After 30 years boarding, I got my first Jones Frontier - it remains the only board that felt like a big leap forward in turning and control.

    I love my ultra mountain twin it’s the first twin I have road in a long time and I am constantly impressed with how well it handles heavy snow days charging fall line as well as crude on icy days. Definitely not a board for the faint of heart you gotta give this board some energy.

    Good Review! Music could be a little lower next time. But other than that, it was great. You really went into the details and explained how the Board feels etc with the right arguments. Keep up the good work.

    I found a '23 UMT and Now Select Pro X Kowalchuks. Both were left over '23's and the board had a small blemish. Total came to $650 for the setup and holy SHIT is it a massive bang for the buck. My carving game is pretty weak, but the UMT's edge hold and stability allows me lay a great trench. Edge to edge initiation is a lot slower than my '21 Burton Kilroy, but man is it miles better in terms of stability. I can't wait until more snow falls in the Midwest to really give this board a serious test.

    Yo! James! Where are you at on the debate on width vs. flex/stiffness for heavy guys with big feet? EXAMPLE: Mountain twin vs. Ultra with the same width underfoot - should a big guy (230-240lbs) aim for the stiffer ultra and it will perform my like a standard Mountain Twin due to rider weight?

      Yeah I'd go Ultra if you are in the 230-240 range and it will definitely flex easier than it would for lighter big footed riders for sure.

    What would be the best board for the union strata. Just bought them and dont wanna change

      It would work well with all three so it just comes down to how you ride. If you like a directional/stiffer board that floats better in pow go Frontier. If you like to ride switch/butter play around more on the mtn or in the park go Mtn Twin. If you like a stiffer mtn twin go Ultra Mtn Twin.

    I am a heavy rider 290lbs (12 us boots) that can link my turns, so I guess just past beginner. I currently have a 2021 Skunk ape 161w. Was at Keystone and Breck last week and the skunk ape seemed to stick on flatter surfaces. I think I may be too big for the 161w would an UMT be a good choice for a heavier rider like me with its extra stiffness? 165w I'm thinking. Also looking at Bataleon Goliath +

      Height? The JMT won't handle your weight as well size per size but the 165w would be as good as most boards that size. UMT 165w would be better. 161w is a maybe if you like more control. Haven't ridden the Goliath + so don't know for sure but the Goliath that I rode wouldn't be ideal either. Hit me up here if you want to get into it more. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

    jones are recomended to beginners?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 месяцев назад +2

      Not sure what you mean. Not every Jones but some like the Mountain Twin and Frontier are forgiving enough for beginners to ride who are committed to the sport and don't want to buy another board when they get better.
