Yes, Breitling is better than Tudor, and its so NOT close that it is not even funny comparing them. One is a generic rolexoid brand, the other has its own history and design language dating decades in the past, not to mention legendary models like the Navitimer. And I am saying this as someone who LOVES the FXD and the BlackBay GMT.
Having owned six Breitlings and two Tudors…i would definitely say yes…by Breitling has always felt more solid and everyone one of my Breitling was trouble free and ran spot on. Both Tudors had to go back for servicing, less than one year of ownership. On the plus side for Tudor…the ADs were awesome and servicing was less than three months each.
I bought a brand new Breitling Avenger Chronograph Gmt this week and the chronograph would run for twenty seconds and then shut off. I know it was probably a one off but I've never dealt with something like this in even my lower priced pieces.
Breitling >> Tudor. I get the value and everyman appeal of Tudor, but they’re just… boring. I rage quit them after trying (and failing at significant 💰 loss) to find one that sticks. They have all the right specs and are a great choice on paper, but I have Black Bay fatigue so after awhile they do nothing for me. 💡 Video idea: I’d love to see a “hidden gems” episode. @@SIZZO76 Breitling is the watch I get to see on the Arm of the 65 year old divorced car salesman at the nightclub trying to hook up. Tudor is worn by the 30 year old graphic designer at Abbot kinney.
Guy, good video. I can't afford expensive watches anymore as we are looking to move which is super expensive. The main question is Breitling better than Tudor, I would say the quality for both is difficult to tell to be honest. I believe you can get much better deals on Breitling watches second-hand or even grey market than Tudor. I like Breitling's larger selection better. I never owned any myself but I used to have a friend who was a watch collector from mid tear to around the 10K range. So I got to feel how they wear. I have seen Breitling watches at Sam's Club at a big discount. This was over 2 years ago. So I don't know about it now. I do like the female robot voice more than the silly one you were using if that helps you any. It is really good to see you making more content again. I wish you all the best.
The Sinn 556 actually has AR coating on both sides of the crystal, top and bottom. On the plus side, sometimes you can’t even tell there’s a crystal there. Downside, AR coating on top can make the crystal look smudged, particularly in bright sunlight. I have a 556, so I’m a little biased, but I think it’s a better value than the Longines.
Sure it's 1000$ bucks cheaper and it's super nice quality - definitely a better value. I think it's just a little plain Jane and boring I like the higher level of finishing and the dial appointments and the dressed up bracelet on the Longines a lot.
I agree Breitling is superior to tudor. Tudor doesn't do any finishing to their movements, they look as unfinished as a seiko movement. Breitling at least does some stripes and basic machine finishing on the bridges.
I can't say I've ever seen a Tudor movement. I've only done videos on a couple Black Bays and I don't recall any of them having display case back windows.
Never really thought of it but yeah... Casio kinda of is like Toyota. Reliable, everyone got one, they both got high and low end models. Congrats on the Citizen! It looks dope! Great video. Yeah, in terms of total quality control and feel on wrist, Breitling is a good bit more Luxurious in my view than Tudor, having owned my share of both. The no. 1 reason is the polishing. Breitling is just polished to a higher level finish, and more thoughtfully layers high polish across their watches like the Premier and Chronomat. However, you pay a steeper price for that.
It's my opinion that Breitling is way over priced for a watch. I own a 1926 it's nice casual watch to wear. And got the money I'd buy a Tudor over Breitling. Just my opinion

Breitling over Tudor, I have saw a lot of problems with Tudor and whatever way you cut it Tudor is a Rolex homage brand. Pelagos is a nice line but the lume falls out of the bezel.
I have the Sinn 556 A. And believe me, these things have inner and outer ar coating. Best on earth. Sometimes you think the crystal fell out because it is invisible. 🕐⚙️🍸
I like Breitling but my biggest problem with them is their watches are really big and I don’t have a big wrist so I would probably buy a Tudor Blackbay but really they are about equal in quality.
