I understand the covid situation but now things are normal and my relatives said they are trying to contact them from past 6 months but they rarely respond and still give excuses to them. So based on this experience I can't recommend them.

    Biggest disadvantage of on Grid:
    Board official who come to your house for taking a note of 2way electricity are most of time confused and takes down the wrong amount
    Resultingly you have to go every month to the electricity board with your track of electricity made/consumed to get the bill right

      Biggest disadvantage of on Grid Solar System is the dependency on Power Supply. If there is power cut in your area then it will stop working and will not produce electricity and send the same to Grid during the period of power cut.
      Further, investment in solar system in India is not mathematically viable in India specifically for those who are willing to save money by investing in solar system.
      Payback period of on-grid solar system is more than 8.5 years if you consider the opportunity cost of the investment (i.e. return from alternative investment, if you would have invested the expenditure involved in other means) .
      Further, in case of off-grid system it will never be paid back.
      If there is frequent power cut in your area and if you are thinking for Inverter system then only you should invest in such system. For your information I am also having an 1 KV Off Grid System since mid of 2019.

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  4 года назад +217

      @Nishant To give you a rough idea.... let's say your total power consumption for a month is 1000 units but your on-grid solar plant produced 800 units of elecrticity you will pay only for the 200 units to the electricity board. Let's say you produced 1200 units and only used 1000 units so electricity dept pays you for excess 200 units but at a very discounted rate of Rs 2.5 - 3 per units (varies from state to state).

    Definition of real tech guru - GeekyRanjit
    No one is like him...
    Everyone is taking something from mother nature in form of technology and all...
    But this one person is giving nature back something using technology.
    RUclips should award him with Genuine Reviewer of the India.
    His reviews are totally Unbaised and at the point.

    We recently got government subsidized solar system with 2000watt panels and 2kva Utl Mttp pcu. We additionally bought 4 150ah batteries(batteries are additional to make it both on-grid and off-grid,). Net metering system is also included. Also chemical earthing was done by them with lightening arrester installed also. Total cost was about 1.1 lakh rupees. It was totally worth as we run 2 gaming pc's, 1 refrigerator and 50" tv at the same time with only about 50% usage. And all these run directly on solar panels during peak sunlight while charging the batteries too. In short,worth every penny. The only regret is that we should have bought 3kva with 3000watt panels and 3kva pcu for only 20k extra. Highly regret it. If you have any questions , you can ask me below

      So in off grid system, does panels store enough sunlight during the day and can we use the excess power during night?

    • @GeraltOfRivia69
      @GeraltOfRivia69 4 года назад

      Yes,it can charge all four batteries in half a day. You can also use mains power at night. Just connect the pcu with mains,it is so smart,it won't charge the batteries at night but will only bypass the mains. If the batteries are low,only then it will charge them

    Sir , please continue teaching us with new topics...
    Q- How much solar panel can be installed and if we install enough then can our electricity bill become zero and if we generated enough power to supply the electricity board .. will they pay us???

    Hi..nicely explained. I have few queries though, it would be great if you can answer these.
    1. With on grid system in place, how it would work in nights or daytime when its cloudy(i assume it would completely be on main line power)
    2. With On grid system, if we are generating excess power which goes back to main power line. Lets say we sent 10 units out of 20 units back to power lines. Do we get relaxation for this 10 units in electricity bill?
    3. With on grid system, can we still place typical battery inverters for power backup? (especially needed in rural area)
    Thanks in advance!
