    * Introduction (0:00 - 0:55)
    * Ranjit introduces himself and says he is at his friend Pavan's place to talk about Pavan's 2.5 year experience with an on-grid solar plant.
    * Pavan's solar plant details (0:55 - 3:25)
    * Pavan's plant is a 5 kilowatt unit with microinverters.
    * It cost 3.5 lakhs including installation and everything.
    * Pavan chose microinverters so that even if one unit fails, the others can still generate electricity.
    * Benefits of Pavan's solar plant (3:25 - 7:05)
    * Pavan offsets his monthly electricity bill by a lot.
    * For example, in May, his plant generated 750 units and he used 3-4 AC units and an electric car.
    * He exported 250 units to the grid.
    * Pavan gets money back from the grid for the electricity he exports.
    * This means his monthly electricity bill is almost zero.
    * Pavan's solar plant has also reduced his reliance on higher electricity bands, which are more expensive.
    * Pavan's plant generates up to 24 units on cloudy days.
    * Maintenance of Pavan's solar plant (7:05 - 8:00)
    * Pavan only needs to spend 5 minutes a month cleaning his panels.
    * He does this early in the morning or late at night when the panels are not generating electricity.
    * Return on investment (ROI) of Pavan's solar plant (8:00 - 9:35)
    * Pavan expects to recover his costs in 5-6 years.
    * He says that if he had gone with string inverters, his ROI would have been 3 years.
    * Pavan did not get any government subsidies for his solar plant.
    * He says that the government is now offering incentives for solar power, so the ROI would be even better for people who install solar panels now.
    * Pavan's app (9:35 - 10:20)
    * Pavan has an app that shows him how much electricity each panel is generating.
    * This allows him to see if there are any problems with individual panels.
    * Conclusion (10:20 - 11:56)
    * Pavan is very happy with his solar plant and recommends it to others.
    * He says that the cost of electricity is only going to go up, so solar power is a good investment.
    * He says that people can be innovative with how they install solar panels, so they don't have to worry about losing space.
    I hope this corrected summary is helpful!

    Hey Ranjit, i was planning to go with solar and even booked it. But i had a very bad experience with a company named "Solar Square", they engulfed the money and went silent.
    Going forward please suggest some good providers or what is the best way to get solar installed.

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  3 месяца назад +5

      Check with ppl in local area what installer they have used, tata Power also does Solar installation for homes but they are a bit on the expensive side. The thing to note is go with a Solar provider who has been in the Industry for at-leat over 5 years, don't do with fly by new companies, that might offer you lower rates but we don't know if they will be in business for long.

      @@RajeshMukkala i don't think they are slow, they are straight fraudsters running a Ponzi Scheme. I applied for a connection back in June 2023 till now nothing has been done and refund is pending even after several calls to customer care.
      For the same reason they don't have a Twitter handle, there is no redressal mechanism. You are lucky you got your connection.

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  3 месяца назад +1

      If you are consuming more electricity than you are generating then you pay. For example let's say your Solar plant generated 10 units of electricity but you used 12 units, so you will pay for that 2 extra units.

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  3 месяца назад +1

      Approx you can expect 1400-1500 units of generation per year in India, if you use the new more efficient panels and they are placed south facing. My 2.2 KW off-grid is generating about 285-320 units / month with the new Mono Perc Half cut panels.

      He is using the Enphase inverter as shown in the later part of the video, these are micro inverters attached to every solar panel. But they are more expensive compared to regular string inverters used in most installations in India.
      I personally have a Growatt 5kva ongrid string inverter and that also is connected to internet and I can see the generation stats via the app.

      Yeah I am getting about 27-29 units with my 5.4KW off-grid system, as I am using the more efficient Mono Perc half cut panels. The panels that you use also make a difference, for example I will be producing close to 7600 units of electricity for the year with my 5KW on-grid setup which is using the Growatt 5KW string inverter.
