My living room size is 170 sqft and ceiling height is 11ft. Its a single story building with sun rays falling only on roof. What should be the capacity of AC? 1.5ton or 2ton ?
There is one passageway, which connects living room to dining room & kitchen. I am thinking to have a magnetic curtain there to sealed the room.
Please suggest ac considering all these factor.

I think for fast cooling and slience you should check high ISEER (5.2 or above).
Our Daikin and Mithsubishi is good enough.
Even at top floor with extreme heat, we need 26°C in Daikin for 150 sq ft room!
Both has fresh air( no smell of mechanical products or other).
Both machines also remain cool at that temp, even outdoor unit also silent and cool at night.
Pls avoid any hunky punky features to divert customers mind.
As a middle-class family Indians need cooling, enegry saving and silence, that's it!

Agree on the LG AC cooling capacity part. I got a 3 star AC last year and felt the cooling to be average. I often keep temperature 2-3 degrees lower to get the cooling effect. Initially I thought something is wrong with my ac and even got it checked. But perhaps as you say, their cooling is behind the competition. My usage is limited to summers, and barely 1-2 hours per day. So I can live with it given the silent operation. Also, LG service is great in my city.

    • @rohanpitre19
      @rohanpitre19 Год назад

@@bongobarta1908 when you are continuously running the ac, the cooling seems sufficient. But if you switch it for some time and turn it off, that is when the cooling difference is apparent. As I said, my usage is very low so I'm okay with it. But keeping my ac at 24 degrees for over 20-30 minutes does not make my 130 sqft room chilly.
Also, I think LG's cooling capacity has suffered since they moved to that dual inverter technology. Which is why your ac may not suffer from it.

I have used LG for the last 20 years, both window and split. The best part about them is the service. I asked their customer care what is covered under AMC or extended warranty. The exec. put it in simple words - What you get under standard warranty is what you get under extended also. I have never worried about service from LG ever. I stay in a place with corrosive air, and the worst product i ever purchased was a Carrier AC. The way it rusts and breaks down is shocking. And their AMC covers nothing. My entire neighbourhood stays away from Carrier AC's. Just for everyone's knowledge, gas recharge is useless without fixing holes in the evaporator coils. It is a sealed system and if your service center says free recharge of gas, he is fooling you. In case of LG, they replace the evaporator coil every year under warranty, since that is how long the coils last in my area till it springs a leak. They can of course repair it, but it will leak elsewhere also. So it is better to replace the entire coil. Also, to all consumers out there, question the manufacturers who do fluff marketing about their coils being of copper - what is the guage of copper used?. You will not get a single reply.

    My experience with LG AC's:
We had got 2 LG 1.5T split AC's (3 star) 15 years back. we live in Ahmedabad, so during summers, our AC's are on for quite a while.
Other than the regular maintenance, we have never faced any issues.
Both of the AC's had their compressor unit changed once (if I remember currently) but considering the AC's have been used for 10-12 hrs on a daily average during the summers, it's not a big deal.

We installed 3 AC's about 1 year ago (approx 30k each including installation from reliance digital). When we use low power consumption mode. I.e. the AC works at 80% , 60% or 40% of it's original capacity.. after the room is fairly cooled, i switch to 40% overnight.. even then the bills are around 600-700rs more when compared to winter (while using all three ACs)

I see there are mixed views about panasonic and daikin ac's. From what I see, an AC's performance and durability over long time depends on how well it is installed. And in India, most technicians just doesn't install by how it's instructed in the user manual. They don't even vacuum the machine, resulting in poor performance and compressor poor pumping.
Whichever ac you buy, make sure it is installed properly by the good standards, otherwise no matter how heavy duty the machine is, it will provide poor cooling and early failures.

I have Mitsubhisi Electric. I wanted a AC with least possible Fan Noise (Personal Preference) but Mitsubhisi is very costly. Looking at your reviews - LG was least sound producing AC in your set of ACs, I got installed LG Dual Inverter. I am happy with its performance. Sound level compared to Mitsubhisi is higher (35-50 db at lowest fan speed). Mitsubhisi still stands the most silent AC (10-20db Noise - as captured by noise meter at lowest fan speed) in my experience. Previously used Lyod, Samsung.

Buy an air cooler (iron assembled) 👀 adjust it in the proper window and have fun. I suggest or recommend this more because it can be done over buying the ac and contribute less pollution. If it's not possible, you can still buy an ac. Gentle reminder 💞

😅 Air coolers are the best for dry days. As soon as humidity starts kicking in, no cooling.
Also, for many people work from home/ flexible office hours means they need silent cooling, so ACs 😢

Bought a Panasonic 7 years ago and a Daikin 3 years back. Both 1.5 T 3 star non inverter and 'unsmart'. Panasonic's 27°C is equal to 24 in Daikin. Also Daikin faced one major problem so far (repaired as it was during warranty period). Heard similar stories about these 2 brands from my colleagues. Never pick Daikin over Panasonic.
