Watched this without sound at the bowling alley during a work outing because I was losing badly and after that I somehow started getting points (even though all I gathered from the tips was ‘get a better ball’ and ‘practice a lot’). Pretty sure some kind of bowling magic happened. I know the title says ‘improve FAST’, but I didn’t think it was this fast. Thank you bowling man!

Love your channel and it’s helped me a lot. I’m a new bowler this year. I’ve done all these tips so far and bowled a 157, 222 with my handicap, yesterday at league, my best score so far. I’ve been trying to bowl 20 games per week. Thanks for these videos!

This is a really good and quick video. I totally agree with #4 - get your own bowling shoes.
You should definitely make the investment in Velcro bottomed soles. Adjustability isn't that important. Replaceable soles are important because if you step in fluid you can substitute a dry sole and you refresh the sliding shoe with a new sole every couple years. My Dexter SSTs last for more than 15 years because of that. I think the best bowling shoes made are the Dexter SST 6s. Quality bowling shoes are a small cost of bowling when compared to the cost of going bowling, bowling balls which you buy much more often, the gas to get to the alley, and especially alcohol if you patronize Bowlero alleys.
Definitely join a weekly league. You will never advance your game without doing that. Plus it is lots of fun. Coaching is optional. I have been bowling in leagues since 1979 and never had a lesson. Bowling is a sport that takes years to refine your shot through practice. Last season I was able to average 221 in one of my leagues, my highest in 44 years.

Also would like to add to practice basic moves at home and also bowl at least twice a week if you are not on a budget. Understandably, bowlers have families and life gets in the way at times for bowling once a week but if you want to get better and stay consistent in your shot making for as aim, angle, release, adjustability, mental and balance at the foul line; bowling twice a week on a league should be idea.

Highly agree with everything you said, especially since I started watching all the different bowling channels. I've gone from a 150-160 average to a 181 average. I wish I had all the free videos, as a kid I would have been much better bowler.

👍🏾 Henry here in Tampa Florida budding Coach... just Subscribed...
Awesome 2-5 minute Video and for the member 3 comments up from that threw the 9 gutter balls here's a technique I give to students & random (non) bowlers bolling on the lanes next to me...
    - Pretend you're a softball pitcher and go through the motion...
    - Now use that technique in your approach to release your bowling ball ALLL 1 motion...
**(release thumb 1/2 second before) other 2 fingertips should be the last to touch the ball (as if you are rolling a tennis ball to a baby)
    MOST IMPORTANT ;
bring the ball down as close as you can to your leg/angle then follow through with ** release...
Upon approach & release If your leg/ankle is not slightly to the rear of you Not to worry just pick the arrow on the lane that best aligns with where you want the ball to hit on the pin and follow ***release tip...
I teach this to none bowlers that are just out for some bowling FUN with friends, family or their boo lol.
This technique only takes a few (proper)
rolls - 1 game to fairly learn...
I've had random bowlers who'd take the 9 ball "Gutter Cleaning" title from you :-) with this technique they went from Gutter Champ to trash talker with 150+ games, a few went from barely 100 to 200 +...
You see I capitalized "FUN" above ALL be it pizza beers-n-brew with the fellows, Family or you boo lol or League/ Tournament make sure you have " FUN " !!!
If ever in Tampa maybe I'll see you @ 1 of the Pin chasers and give you a few more tips.
    FYi
This technique is for Straight-Arm-Bowling not curve but not to worry I threw my 1st 300 game Straight Arm with a plastic ball my most Accurate, certain ones of my spares are to this day picked up using THIS Technique 😉

THis video SUCKED. It's one big advertisement to get people to go buy $500 worth of crap. If you're a beginner like I am why the hell would I go out and spend $500 when I don't even know if I'm gonna do this or not?

I'm not convinced that expensive bowling shoes or "high performance" bowling shoes are necessary, You take four steps and slide on the last step. Regular bowling shoes work just fine for that. Pros wear the expensive shoes because they get them for free from their sponser.
