My wife and I are in our 50’s and have “officially” only been bowling for 2 years. We’ve talked to several pro’s and watched several hours / 100’s of videos of instruction, tips and tricks to improve our game. This video, by far, has been the best video that we have watched! You definitely have a gift for teaching and we hope that you’re able to keep putting out more great content like this while spending time with family and taking time off from the tour! Thank you!
Amazing instructional video. Honestly one of the best explanations I have seen online . Keep these coming.
I second this. My thoughts exactly.
Same here !
I second your comment, I have watched MANY videos, and this is by FAR one of the best!!!!!
Agreed.
It's been a real up and down year for me. On week I shot 770 and two days later shot 498. I took a lesson from a pretty good coach and got better, more consistent. I watched this video before my normal Sunday practice and it brought everything together. Thank you Michael.
Top notch young man!! I’m almost 55 and and this has NEVER been explained this easily. You are ahead of your time young man! Thank you! 🙏
I agree! Alot of people make videos but don't really actually explain things well or thoroughly like he did.
I'm 70 and just getting into bowling. This is by far the best instructional video I've seen yet. If these tips work for me, I'm gonna buy my own ball and shoes! And a fancy bag to put my new ball in. Thanks much! Mark in Portland, Oregon
The description about the elbow facing your target, and the rotation of the arm being like a "spring" and naturally pronating/supinating is some pretty high level secret sauce. Fantastic instructional video.
Your descriptions of #1 #2 are the best that I have seen on RUclips. Most just tell you what to do without the informative explanation of why it is so important. Great Job!!
I'm 64, shot my first 800 series last year, averaged over 210 five years in a row, and I just learned things. KUDOS young man!
Thank you for your brilliant lesson! I am 67 years old and have always bowled straight. I am now learning the Right Way to bowl and your lesson is the BEST! I thank you from the bottom of my heart and equator! I have been dropping the ball until you taught me to be below the equator. You completely ROCK! Thanks again.
This is best example of unpacking the modern release that I have seen.
My man thats the best instructional video on all RUclips, GREAT JOB!!
Seriously the best and most concise video I have ever seen explaining the modern release.
Hands down best video on the internet on shoulders collapsing! Thank you, i'll try to implement your tips on my next practice session
I enjoyed this content a lot. Never even thought about how not lowering your shoulder gives you that arc.
One of the best instructional videos of positioning of your arm n dropping your shoulder. Would love to see more on hand release at bottom of swing
Those shoes have BOA’s!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO. Definitely saving this in my bowling archive.
You’re becoming a great content creator.
One of the best explicit teaching on bowling tips that i've seen so far ..great job !
You are a great teacher. Best illustration of an idea. That's why I liked and subscribed.
Great learning video Clear, explicit teaching! Thank you.
Excellent instruction and explanation for non-pros. I'm going to be practicing dropping my shoulder immediately. Thank you, Michael.
Michael, you’re very good at explaining these things in terms that I think most people can understand.
This is such a great video. I have heard all 3 of these points mentioned before, but there’s just something about how you explain and demonstrate each of them that really clicked with me. Thanks for making this!
Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate and share these tips! Great lesson!
Love the mention of the position of the hands in a natural standing posture - arms down, with palms facing in .. and the loading of a spring analogy as the way to hold the ball .. Great video
Wonderful advice!!! Thank you!!
Thank you. Got lots of great suggestions!!!!
As everyone else said already, this is an exceptional instruction video 👍
All the praise and adulations in the comments below. I came here to say all that to, but they beat me to it. Thanks Michael!
Awesome instructions!! Appreciate the info/tips!
This is what I need. I struggle getting the ball close to my left leg and getting under the ball. Thanks for this. Great vid.
Loved the tips Michael! Bring on some more.
Absolutely beautiful breakdown on all three steps. Thank you for putting such excellent content.

Thank you for the simplification. Concise and straight to the point ✌🏾
Thanks. . . great video!
Outstanding! Video thank you Sir.
This is the best information anyone has ever explained about the bowling shot. No teacher has ever explained this, probably because you wouldn’t need lessons after perfecting this.
Thank You Mr. Tang!!😊
Great job .. thanks this is definitely working for me

Dropping the shoulder!!! Been bowling for 30+ years and this is what we were taught not to do! Tried this in my basement and it makes #2 and #3 so much easier! Subbed!
Mike Tang has one of the most effortless looking power releases on the pro tour. This was a super simple and clear explanation of what many people do wrong Great job, Mikey. You're one of my favorite bowlers. You can tell Dtang I said, that, lol
Great lesson keep them coming.
Thank you for this one
basic and beneficial. shoulder down demonstrates the mechanics of the swing very well. easy to understand.. thank you
Such a very educational video thank you
Excellent information.
You made it amazingly easy to understand the process; Thank you !!!
Outstanding instruction, very clear and easy to follow.
I wanted to say thank you for the short and sweat basics. I have been in a major slump going for 204 avg to 188avg over 11 weeks. Watching this video made me realize my muscle memory has me doing thing I fixed a your ago. My ball speed was down and just going back to practice after watching this made a huge difference looking forward to league again instead of dreading it. Thanks again!
Nice and straight forward. Time to go practice
This video tip was absolutely amazing, thanks so much
This video is EXACTLY what I have been searching for! I love the simple 3 concept approach, with one concept building on the other. I never properly understood the correct elbow orientation even though I have seen dozens of other videos attempting to explain it. You also explained very clearly why my ball often goes far left or far right, which always frustrated me! Thank you so much. You are a natural teacher, so keep up the good work!
One of the better videos for teaching, great job. Love him and his brother. Great guys!!!
Thank you, that is perfect for Beginners 👌
Mr. Tang, I'm 71 and a Lefty and that was the BEST ADVISE I had ever had. I fully understood everything you said and now I can't wait to go try it out tomorrow before our Senior League. THANKS again for your help and please make more of those simple videos for all of us. EXCELLENT
Excellent Video. Best I’ve ever heard it explained. Great job Mr. Tang. All Intermediate Bowlers need to see.
Very good video!! Learned alot
Awesome instructional video! You kept the explanation on target. Breaking the focus into small parts and then providing a great drill to bring it all back together really helped. There was no shortage of information delivered however, the importance of understanding your body in its anatomically natural positions, and then using that knowledge to achieve something without having to do unnecessary things such as over rotating upon release is so important. I think it’s great that you mentioned that. Looking forward to looking at and learning from the rest of your videos!
Very good teaching
Thank you for this!
One of the best videos ive seen thanks for your time
Excelente video sr Tang, muchas gracias 🙏🏻💯👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
