  • This video gives a method to change not only the transmission drive belt but the two pulleys that are part of the drive assembly. The model is a 2016 Cub Cadet Enduro XT1 42" cut. Home Depot carries these.

    Thank you so much. I was not looking forward to this job. Your technique make it easier than I have done it. pre-assembly of tension pulley is a knuckle buster. I will let you know of results.😊

      I did it the "other way" too and I wasn't about to go through that again! Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.

      Completed drive belt. Mower is working great. Old belt was in great shape. Will keep for spare. During installation of belt discovered cooling fan had stripped bottom mount of plastic fan base. One on order. Don't think I will have to remove belt drive. Looks as it can be done through battery cage. Hope so. Thank you so much for your input.

      I’ll add this: I did it the lazy man’s way but never would’ve figured out how to do it the lazy way without this video. I actually flipped my mower up on its back axle and stood it straight up after I remove the cutting deck. This allowed fairly easy access to both of the tensioners as opposed to this dismantling it quite to the degree that you proposed in this video. One of my tensioner‘s actually got a stick caught in it and the friction literally melted half of that plastic wheel so that’s what I had to replace. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t fun but it was a little fewer steps. I also did not have my drive belt come loose from the engine, only from the transmission and you are definitely correct in that you do not have to remove the fan to get the belt back on the pulley at the transmission end. I did have to remove one of the springs to get the tensioner back inside the right place and all settled in correctly but instead of removing the entire plate, I actually only took out four of the screws and loosened the last two so that the plate would hinge away from the mower and allow my hands just a little more room. That did the trick. I put the cutting deck back on and everything worked! Thank you again!

    Thank you for the video! Can you tell me where to find the illustrated parts diagrams online? I see you found a pdf version and that’s what I’m looking for.

    Hello, I knew my old Craftsman back and forward. Bought this XT1 used. This is different. My question is steps ? You jacked up on side and block and reinforce wheels. pull spring with wire to unhook. remove pulley assembly and drop cutting deck or something different? Thank You in advance !!!

      Cutting deck comes off first. Then jacked it up and blocked, loosened and removed the transmission drive belt, disconnected spring, then removed the pulley plate.

    Was there ever a point where one of the symptoms was that the mower accelerated very slowly and made knocking/grinding sound when you pressed the forward pedal?

      There was a grinding when the flywheel magnets came unglued. Watch my video on the Blown Fuse

    How were you able to get the engine drive pulley off? When I try to loosen the bolt, the pulley starts spinning.

    • @jgjgjg1595
      @jgjgjg1595  Год назад

      You have to use a pipe wrench to hold back on the shaft.

    Was your engine drive pully Loctite on? I've been told it's red Loctite.

    • @jgjgjg1595
      @jgjgjg1595  2 года назад

      No Loctite, and I would not put that on it either. The bolt holds it on just fine.

      @@jgjgjg1595 What I meant was, my pulley bolt has factory Red Loctite on it and the Loctite mfg. says I'll need to hit it with a butane torch to 500 degrees to get it loose.

      Mine had grey locktite on it. I got it off by putting a C clamp on the bottom pulley flat and pulling it against the mower deck belt and retainer bracket. It was stuck on pretty good, but it came loose with a breaker bar and pipe.
