What do you think about this Switch 2 backwards compatibility speculation from Nintendo's report? Would you like to see it on the next gen Nintendo system?
It does cost money to release patches and the cost goes to the company who released the games so i'm not hyped for the switch 2 running old switch ports better out of the gate
Even without any patches, this 7 year old hardware is showing it's age.... i love TOTK but there have been plenty of times where the game lagged. Im pumped for better hardware, it would be great to run some 3rd party titles like COD/OW and not instantly lose because you are playing other console players who have better frames and reaction times. @@Mojavekight17
Important note that i feel like nobody is talking about : Cloud save data is fantastic, but it comes at a cost (monthly or yearly). I took a 2 year break from Switch Online and when i got another Switch OLED none of my saved data was available because i did not keep up with the subscription. This is fine for cases where you would transfer from console to console but worth noting. *I think that Nintendo is jumping on the band wagon with monthly/yearly subs here as they create a tremendous amount of revenue regardless of the offerings. You want online? Sub You want cloud saves? SUB and dont let it lapse. That is my experience, and maybe i'm wrong but save data tied to your Nintendo account is tied to the subscription.
The PS+ online service works the same way, you need to renew a subscription for any period of time, leave the console online and your saved data will be backed up again. If your sub runs out, the save data backups get deleted after a grace period, so it's a good idea to always keep your original Switch to be able to transfer your local saves, just in case.
Another thing that I hope for is that Nintendo’s next console is backwards compatible with not just Switch games and games from NSO, but with controllers as well.
Hahah dream on, controllers are a money maker and Nintendo is going to capitalize on it! I'll bet you a million dollars that controllers won't have backwards compatibility.
I really hope so. I've been holding off on playing Metroid Prime Remastered and Tears of the Kingdom until I could do it at 60fps natively on a Nintendo machine.
I definitely agree that it points to backwards compatibility, and also why would they release like mario wonder and then immediately announce a new system where it wouldn't be playable again? Also, what game is the clip at 8:30 from? The mecha caught my attention LOL
As long as the backwards compatibility includes me ACTUALLY PUTTING IN THE Nintendo Switch cartridge into the NEW HARDWARE, then its a yes from me. That's the thing Nintendo only became good at when they were doing Discs from the GameCube -> Wii U era. Any news on the physical backwards compatibility?
I do honestly just want a Switch 2 with its own games but backwards compatible with Switch games but that is pretty much what Wii U was and I don't know if they want to repeat that mistake. You never know though because 3DS was a massive success
Thanks for this information about the Switch 2 and the games that I brought on the sale was One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition and One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 and I hope I can port these 2 games over to the Switch 2.
I have the majority of my games physically, so it would be annoying if only like digitally purchases are backward compatible. I really hope there’s a switch card slot on the next console.
I really hope that Nintendo sticks with the switch formula for the foreseeable future, because the PlayStation has essentially been the same console since day one just with upgraded graphics, where is Nintendo has constantly tried to balance between handheld and home consoles. They have found that balance, and they should just run with it til the end of time lol
You just answered your own question Nintendo takes the currct generational leads in what a games console is according to tech allowing it PlayStation is always the same that's the point switch is every previous gen combine into one device That's the entire point 😂😂😂 until there is tech advances that allow a new jump it will remain the dame BUT BETTER NEWER BETTER JOYCONS FOR INSTANCE switch has portable home 3d motionngyro mouse sticks etc etc etc because that's were gaming went because of nontendos future forward thinking obvious engineering currect approach we are geting a newer better switch that's obvious
Ideally I should be able to download and play my digital downloads/games. However this is Nintendo, they can easily make it, but can still make you for the same game...twice and just carry achievements, hours, gamesaves over.
It does cost money to release patches and the cost goes to the company who released the games so i'm not hyped for the switch 2 running old switch ports better out of the gate
I think It’s gonna be mostly Nintendo first party games that’s gonna get the patches and famous games like fortnight and apex the rest will stay the same
Without backward compatibility I'd be done with big nintendo. Too much money spent. Losing it after having lost them time and time again means I'd be done for life. Let's hope they take Microsofts path forward.

I cant wait for it
The thought of being able to have my entire library day 1 for a new system is so satisfying so I really hope thats true
I cant wait for totk switch 2 patch for 10 dollars

what about totk running at 60 fps
I still can’t get over Nintendo having an executive named Doug Bowser.

I hope arcade archives will come over as well.

The most I’m exited for is the performance capabilities, Mario with RTX would actually be insane
If it's not an open world mario it's going be a big L

This is actually an exciting speculation/rumour

Cool, I can play my current Switch games and the ones I’ll buy with the Switch 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 3

You should do a pull asking your viewers what they want the most from the next Nintendo console
I wish RUclips didn't remove the poll feature from inside vids, I actually used it 😭

thanks for the info, but I'd appreciate you refraining from using the word ''confirm'' when they didn't confirm anything

Same for me, it’s the physical compatibility that’s going to the the big draw
This exactly.
Im dead meat all my game is physically i never bought digitally
I pray that the new switch will run totk at 60FPS or more
Thats easy but will Nintendo allow it

@ActualAero I always wanted to get into the Fire Emblem series. Is Engage good for a beginner? I'm not that good with strategy games...

Supports the colored button theory
I just hope I get a better internet connection and better frames

The last backwards compatible system that was a disappointment at least to me was PS2, which sucked
