@@TheFlipsideShow10:32 Why would you even bring up the smash world tour situation at the end of the video considering the fact the smash community has been exposed after having a bunch of terrible actions behind the scenes.
Personally, I think the subscription model is what is keeping the rate of new releases so slow. The slower they release games, the longer you will have to stay subscribed. If they just let you buy each game, it would make more sense to release them all as soon as possible.
That's a good guess, but nothing is stopping them from selling the games at the same pace WITHOUT a subscription model. The only difference with the subscription model is that you don't OWN the games. Once the subscription service shuts down all your games are gone. For good. At least with their previous model you could actually go back and re-download them as many times as you wanted as you were renting them indefinitely
@@itsmesteve1081 It's not a guess, its a solid explanation of Nintendo's strategy. If they were to resell these games, people can buy them but you don't bind them as customers. They just buy them and buy the newer triple A titles on their PS5, and it's the new games that consume ressources that the company needs to get paid off. Since your saves are bound to a subscription, you will always have to buy Nintendo and subscribe to continue where you left off.
I have come to the conclusion not to sub until the games I want are released I want perfect dark and snowboard kids 1 and 2 and I doubt we will get it during the switch life cycle so only start paying for the sub when I start playing my switch again and that is for the $19 a year for the cloud saves I won't be doing that until I start playing tears of the kingdom
You forgot to mention the worst part about the retro game streaming service, you need an internet connection to boot into the games! That COMPLETELY defeats the whole point of the Switch, to be able to play these games anywhere!
That goes for the many games that were ported over to the console like MK11 and Faeria. The latter of which kept that a complete secret until people like me bought the dang thing.
This is why physical media and emulation should never die. You legitimately cannot rely on companies of any kind to maintain their own library when their first priority is money. This is especially true with digital only titles and subscription-based availability because once they're gone they will become abandonware.
The problem is that those methods are slowly being phased on. Nintendo is the surface truth, but other highly corrupt and influential people don’t want us to have fun such as our current federal government and corrupt investors like Blackrock.
Unfortunately this is why most fans resort to piracy and modding their games. And what's worst is how embarrassing fans give consumers much more options than the actual company themselves 💀
The reality is the fans have one thing Nintendo has long since lost: Passion. When you have passion for a game or project it shows, when you're trying to just make bank with minimal effort, it shows even more. Nintendo's majority Switch lineup has been nothing but cashgrabs and not much of actual value, the list of games I can name off the back of my hand that aren't cash grabs and are actually good games on the Switch that are exclusive to the Switch (Meaning BoTW is excluded from this list), and those names are: 1) Age of Calamity 2) Link's Awakening 3) Pokemon Legends Arceus 4) Super Mario Odyssey These are the only games on Switch that are made directly by Nintendo that DON'T feel like cash grabs for the Switch. Ultimate 100% felt like a cashgrab with all that paid DLC and the world of light was mid as fuck. I mean no disrespect to Sakurai, but Subspace will never be topped.
It's the same thing when fans made more unique Sonic games while Sega does their own thing. But the difference here is that unlike Nintendo, Sega doesn't abuse their power by issuing cease and desist forms on their consumers and fanbases.
Remember when nintendo had free online because having to pay for online is just a dumb tactic to distract you from the fact that paying for online is dumb, and offer minor benefits to not receive massive complaints for paying for something that shouldn't cost money at all
It’s 20$ for a year, but even then I feel like it should be free, like with the online services that the Wii, DS and DSi, Wii U, 3DS and 2DS systems all had. All you had to do was connect to a local wi-fi connection, and depending on the system, and bam! You were good to go. I personally plan to get 20$ eShop Gift Cards each November or so, that way I can add the funds and renew the subscription when it expires.
I remember when you didn't need a second internet bill to play games online on consoles Honestly this is one reason free to play games work so good is because it gets all the people that don't pay for ps+, Xbox or Nintendo online and let's them play with out thos subscriptions. If online was free alot more people would be playing the payed games with online instead because they would be able to acually buy and play them
They never cared, Iwata did, and then cancer. What I don’t think people understand is that nobody cares about the consumer, they care about the money. I never brag about piracy or anything, but I believe now is a reason I should.
I can tolerate these kinds of subscription services if it wasn't a means of playing games online and was more akin to Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra/Premium, but Nintendo just keeps on going about this the wrong way with how they're utilizing their classic library.
Yeah go ahead and pay for the amount of games 10 bucks per year give you, lets see how that goes for you, even if you only wanted around 10 games that would still cost you 100 dollars (assuming same 3ds prices which were around 10-15 dollars)
@@superbeta1716 when did they say they wanted it sold for the same price? many people- myself included- would be willing to pay more than 10-15 dollars to actually buy a game to keep it. not many people would be willing to pay that much for a fucking subscription model that will someday go down and take the games with it.
Like you've said. The most fucked up thing about this is the fact that it can shut down at any minute. We've already experienced this stuff recently with Nintendo eshop on the 3ds.
@@UnclePhil1112 To reply to the two other comments here, I know that. But keep in mind that having the ability to even re-download these games will apparently soon come to an end as well. It's the reason why physical copies are usually more encouraged despite it being less convenient than digital. These kinda games aren't stuff you can simply just port to the switch either. I feel like if they're gonna throw that away, they should at least come up with a new 3ds or something beforehand. That way, we can still have access to our stuff and still have the opportunity to pay for games and more.
The Switch Online service terrifies me because there could be a time it closes and just deletes all your saves or charges a hostage fee to keep the games you want permanently.
the word "permanently" and "switch online service" cannot coexist in the same sentence. Of course NSO will shut down, probably your saves will be present in your SD card but you wont be able to do anything with them. You will have to subscribe the new online service of the next nintendo console to re-start playing some of those games.
Yeah, it just makes you wish Nintendo had just stuck with the Virtual Console on the Switch, too. What sucks more is the fact that you NEED to be online in order to play any of the NSO games. At least on my 3DS, with whatever games I was able to pick up, I don't have to worry about that bs.
Definitely, forcing you to buy the subscription under the insinuation of - “you’re getting more games for your buck!” - when you used to be able to pay a fixed price for what exactly you wanted is a very backwards move for them to make. But one that definitely makes them more more in the long run.
@The Flipside yeah its the being forced thing that I hate so much. At least when you bought the games, those were solely yours. I always thought the key to better business was improving your practices, not muddling it up with a lackluster approach. True, there are some great titles on there, but it's just the way to access them that needs work.
I'm confused, what do you mean exactly by "you need to be online in order to play any of the NSO games" ? Outside of the weekly check to see if you still have NSO, I don't need to be online to play those games, I just need to turn online when there's the verification to be sure I still have the correct subscription, and right after I go offline and know I'm good for the week (While I hate having the weekly verification especially for the expansion pack, I can see the logic behind it, because you can cancel your subscription at anytime)
@UnknownComete That's not how that works. It's not called Nintendo Switch Online for nothing. Because if I'm anywhere where there's no internet, I can't access anything on the NSO service. So it's more than just the device understanding that it can go on wi-fi. It has to also connect to it.
Yeah, I hate subscription models specially for games. Its completly nonsensical to pay mothly or yearly for something that will be inevitably taken away from you down the line. It may take a while but will happen, and I much prefer having the thing I paid for indefinetly. Nice video btw
I hate most subscription models too, the only exception being Gamepass. Why? Simple I get to test out the game in full for 1/10 of the price, if I like the game enough I can buy it to own it, if not I can dump it from my hard drive.
That’s been Nintendo’s strategy all along. They’re all bunch of wankers who just want to rip customers off whilst making as much money as possible. They’re too lazy to improve old games for switch online, and not innovative enough to release a masterpiece game which takes them at least 6-10 years to do.
Even then it would only be temporary. After they shut down the shop for the Switch, you'll just need to buy those games again on Switch 2, or whatever they'll call a successor.
@@The8bitbeard Another comment of stupidity and nonsensical hate, I'm already mad at the amount of stupidity this comment section has so Imma keep it short: The 3ds shut down, you can still redownload any game you bought there, you don't have to fucking rebuy games if you don't want/have to, also even if your comment was "true" that would apply to literally any online shop, just think about how stupid that sounds
Ah yes let me pay over 100 dollars for around 10 retro games that I will finish in a couple hours, seems like a much better decision than to sub for 10 dollars per year and get many many more games, very very smart choise on your part
@Superbeta You're gonna have to be specific about that because the price varies from console to console. NES is typically being on the lower end and Wii being on the high end which is at most 20 bucks by your logic you must have an extensive amount of free time to beat some of those wii games.
That joke at the end has never hit harder, I never realized they talked about tears of the kingdom right as the eShop closed to make us forget. I always wonder why they put it out? Now I know, they have been doing this every time they do something scummy, they put out something fans will scream for just so they can make us forget... God I hate the new Nintendo
That's why I bought a game on the e Shop right before the closure after it has been announced for the Nintendo Switch online. I wanted to own this game. I don't want to pay a service each year to play the games I want, especially if it's only for few.
I did the same. Think about how much more it will be worth. Having the purchased game forever... rather than a paid subscription that can close anytime.
I genuinely believe that NSO, atleast in part, was responsible for the closure of the WiiU and 3DS eShops. The higher ups at Nintendo were probably throwing a fit that their shitty subscription service wasn't getting the money they wanted, then they saw the virtual console games on the other systems and thought by shutting them down, they would be able to force more players to migrate to NSO. If you shut down services like these and give your consumers an alternative that's worse, then you lose the right to bitch about piracy on these old systems.
You also have third parties opting to release their own retro game collections to maximize their profits on their IPs, such as Capcom with Mega Man and Street Fighter, Konami with Castlevania and Contra, and Square Enix with Final Fantasy. Those companies can sell groups of older games together at a higher base price instead of people only wanting to get a couple titles. With Nintendo, they definitely shouldn't drag their feet on putting many of their 1st/2nd party offerings on NSO. Those should've been put up at a faster pace than we're getting right now.
@@IronMadden ooo, that's always been an aggravating point for me. Yeah, there is zero reason why, at the very least, all of their first/second party titles should have been out day one. We've had at least 2 generations of this kind of offering and they've only ever gotten slower.
what kind of logic is this? They've done this because the user base is so small that its just not worthwhile at this point. Its what happens for older systems, they inevitably get discontinued as many if not almost every consumer that bought these systems decides to move on to newer consoles. The 3DS ran from 2011-2023 and WiiU from 2012, they had +10 years to run, it's always sad to see your favorite console shutdown, but it happens at some point.
That ending really does drive the point home, and I'll admit I'm kind of guilty of that myself. Nintendo knows people will eat up what they put out. It's unfortunate but even releasing things like the GB and GBA games to the switch online service was kind of done when they weren't having a bunch of heavy hitters on the horizon. They are keeping virtual console and certain game releases in their back pocket because they know if they release them at the right time people will eat it up, and they are right. It's a business tactic, one that while I don't like because I prefer to just buy and own my games, it works and it works to great effect. They won't change their tactics until the consumers do which sadly likely won't change for a long time.
The fact that they announced another video showcasing that $70 Zelda game was coming a week after they closed down all the other eShops really shows how they think of their players too as they would see that as something that would keep players from forgetting about them getting rid of so many digital only games on their previous consoles. Though on the uploader's part that kinda went by a bit too long and a bit too abruptly to the point of it being a rather awkward ending to the video itself.
Ah but when Sony does it it's all good right? People are eating the LAst of us 1 remaster for play5 for 70 FUCKING DOLLARS, and Sony doesn't even have a way to play older games, hell Last of us 1 is so old now that it could fit as a free games and not "free" like the fucking 70 year sub Sony offers
@@keijijohnson9754 What the fuck is even that reasoning? "Oh look they are pricing Zelda at 70 dollars and the 3ds shut down a few months ago, must means they hate their consumers durrr" Like what the fuck? That makes no sense at all, even then the 3ds still has your games you can still fucking redownload them and letting the 3ds shop open won't make them sell Zelda better or worse. Please get your hate hat off, go shit on Sony selling remasters and bad ports for 70 fucking dollars in the overpriced Ps5, that is something yall should be minding
The only reason the Wii U had all those games on its e shop is because Nintendo wasn’t making a lot of money off of it and they needed a draw. Stop paying Nintendo and they’ll have to put in the effort again.
At first, I was into the idea of NES and SNES games being a part of the Switch Online service and it providing some value for the twenty dollars a year they were asking for. But after months of having been drip fed more games into the service, charging extra for access to gameboy advance games and the ability to rent DLC for a few of them, AND having that done while they close down the stores that had heaps more games to choose from and actually own... It's grown to be rather tiresome and aggravating the more this continues on. It makes even LESS sense too since they've shown themselves of being capable of doing just that with their Arcade games AND a lot of the NeoGeo games too on the Switch eShop. So they really have no excuse there.
Exactly! Especially taking the fact into consideration that these exact games are already existing on the service, just haven’t been made available to purchase on the switch is absolutely infuriating, and feeds into their anti-consumer practices that they’ve become very familiar with lately. Maybe not even lately.
also let's stop pretending paying for online is necessary for these companies. They don't host dedicated servers, most games are peer 2 peer. Literally all a sub does for Nintendo online/psn/xbl is a check to let you play multiplayer or not. It's so ingrained in us we don't even think about what it really is, price gouging. Perpetually trapped in 2002 XBL model for 20 years.
@@ctuk-202 Even so, they are STILL Nintendo titles that were made purchasable on the Switch eShop while their NES counterparts are being locked behind that paywall for no reason. Again, they have no excuse there.
@8bitAlex Nintendo isn't selling you a game with switch online subscription, they are just providing a streaming service and you don't own any of the games.
The worst part about NSO is that unlike the virtual console, you can't even keep the games after the service shuts down. Once Switch NSO goes offline, all the retro games on Switch will become unplayable since they're tethered to an online subscription.
Yeah, that would suck if that happened and if it does happen, fortunately, I have NES Mini and SNES Mini so I could play a lot of old games whenever I want. Plus, I have Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, two 3DS systems and a Game & Watch handheld system with Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2 AKA Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and Mario Ball built in it, so I can play those games on the go. So, it would not be much of a loss for me, even if we didn't get to keep the old games on Nintendo Switch Online once the service shuts down.
right now, it's either "sailing the high seas" or paying exorbitant amount of money for old titles. Not that long ago, wanted to get the gamecube Animal Crossing (started off with new leaf). When I checked Ebay, saw that pretty much all buy now pal versions are at least 100$ and any auctions end at minimum of 70$. That's just one of the lower examples, some games go for thousands of dollars for a complete copy.
this and the fact that tears of the kingdom is $70 is horrid. it has been getting into their head that they can do literally whatever they want and as long as the customers consume it, they can get away with it
that has nothing to do with nintendo specifically. this is just a thing a lot of companies are doing. either way nintendo said that games are gonna be priced case by case so it's not like they're charging 70 dollars for everything from here on out
$70 for maybe 900p docked and 600p portable at 30fps with potential framedrops and PS3 era graphics. I’m not a fan of Sonys pricing either but at least their games look amazing, 4K resolutions and options to hit 120 fps.
As much as it is easy to hate Nintendo, I think it's time to address the issue that has allowed Nintendo to get away with this. Us the fans. More specifically, not putting our money where our mouths are. I believe it is our fault to an extent that has let Nintendo become this complacent.
Its the same as the GPU market and a few others, idiots not only just pay for it all happily (or even not happily and still just pay it) they also pre order hardware or whatever presuming its all gonna be perfect when the last 5 releases all have issues and surprised when they have issues. You cant do anything with these people its consumerism on the brain, just emulate and screw the big companies back where we can
This is why I either buy physical copies or emulate with rom cartridges. I'm tired of getting screwed over by these companies and having to buy the same games over and over just to be able to play them on a recent system.
dude the ending of this.... so insanely true and sad. like we all love nintendo, of course we do, but it is sooooo hard to overlook the shady fucking things they do because they know people will shell out money (multiple times in some cases) for even the sparsest amount of products. at a certain point one really runs out of arguments against emulation and p*racy
I just realized that when Nintendo Switch Online gets shut down, Nintendo probably won't be gracious enough to let us keep the games we've been paying for for years. 😢
@Falcon2 if a company gives a feature to consumers and then withdraws and withholds the content that I want to pay them for, when they know they are behaving in a knowingly unethical, but profitable business move (allegedly) all while denying their shareholders a lot more money that they would make from the fans of the company who want to pay them money but now can't is more unethical than people who will pirate because they have no other alternative.
@Falcon2 oh yes, because every person can afford hundreds of dollars to get a physical copy of the game or the system which is likely more than the game and when it stops working.. oh well. Guess you just never enjoy those games again or go spend hundreds more. Seriously. People would throw money at Nintendo if they would stop being so anti-business and anti-consumer. They have the means to open all digital stores from ds, 3ds, wii u shop, etc all on the switch and the switch would handle it and they would make crazy money. They don't. They release a lot of games that people don't care about and that's why people stick with physical copies when they can get them. Some rare copies are insane to get. Besides, if I can emulate games I have, then I can buy some Nintendo stuff of equal value, say, a Nintendo online subscription and pay for the games I want to add. They get their money, and I get the games I want. Ethical. Withholding a product out of spite is not ethical, no matter how you shake a stick at it. Nintendo should be ashamed of how dishonorable they are behaving.
I've been told that wanting Nintendo to bring back Virtual Console for the Switch makes me an "entitled gamer" somehow, even though all I want is the same thing that existed for Wii, 3DS, and Wii U. I'm not saying Switch Online shouldn't exist for people who would rather have *temporary* access to the whole library, but I'm only interested in paying once per classic game to download and keep "forever" (well, as long as the console still works) so I don't see why Nintendo is no longer giving us that alternative. Some of us just aren't interested in paying for live services just to play classic games (and I don't play games online so I have no interest in any other features on Switch Online that isn't classic game-related). Minor correction that doesn't have anything to do with the main point of the video but most SNES and N64 games were dirt cheap at flea markets and thrift stores during the Wii era, even into the early Wii U era. It's mainly the past half decade, especially during the pandemic, when prices on older games started getting ridiculous. Although, it certainly is understandable that it was easier to just download those games from the online shop rather than having to track down old consoles and individual cartridges, especially for people who were just kids when the Wii and Wii U were "current" consoles.
Wanting the VC back, doesn’t make you “entitled “. Expecting or demanding that the VC be given to you by right, is “entitlement “. The ones who called you that are ignorant. The lack knowledge or awareness of what they’re talking about.
Just came across this video after looking into subscribing to the online service, since I've just gotten a Switch after holding off for so long. Just wanna say thanks for making the video. Emulation will always be morally correct, and I'll probably stick to buying only exclusive games from them in physical format as long as it's available. Since their exclusives are the sole reason for me owning a Switch. Everything else are available on other platforms. Cause like the Steam Deck and the recent Asus Rog console, along with other portable handhelds that are steadily improving; I hope it'll at least make Nintendo sweat, knowing there are other ways we can play their legacy games on the go, besides their slowly aging Switch.
Just so you know the craziest thing about the switch is if you were to jailbreak it, where you can easily find guides to do so on google (like 1st and 2nd links easy to find), you can get emulators on the homebrew store so you can play most of if not all of those games mentioned in this video free of charge and even crazier you can actually get custom themes which Nintendo still does not offer their customers after SIX YEARS. I jailbroke my switch and it was great. Nintendo really does nothing but stifle the switches true potential and I really don't know why because profit really isn't a concern to them it seems.
Great critique of NSO. I recently bought a Switch to play Tears of the Kingdom. I don't play online, and I really couldn't care less about Burger Time. I still really enjoy my relatively small library on the Wii U (mostly Zelda). NSO offerings are pretty weak in my opinion. The only thing of value to me would be the online save backups, but that's not even that compelling without having a large library of games.
They offer every worthwhile game released for the NES & SNES with more getting added to the other platforms on there for what comes out at around $4 a month. Its a good service for the price and people would rather pay for each game individually for what? You still don't actually own it physically. Its an icon on your Switch.
The best deal is paying for the family and sharing it with family or friends, honestly even the individual 50 bucks a year isn’t bad, that’s like what, 4 bucks a month? I don’t mind it, personally, especially since it’s cheaper for quite a long time to pay the subscription than it is to buy many games virtually
A little late to this video, but yeah, it’s very unfortunate. The stuff that used to be available for free when they were trying to promote their Wii not only do you have to have a subscription for but they release it very slowly and it’s only getting worse.
9:24 This is why Metroid Prime Remaster was a huge surprise. We honestly expected it to be like that, with a $60 tag. Fortunately they proved us wrong and did something they usually don't do and pulled a new standard for remasters with a $40 tag.
I mean that's great and all, but with them talking about Metroid Prime 4 coming to Switch, it just raises more questions. Are 2 and 3 coming as remasters? Will we see other Gamecube titles done like this? Why is this remaster the same price as Captain Toad when Gamecube games should be cheaper than this? Why is their pricing in general just all over the place? Etc.
I loved the ending, becaue it's just the truth. Nintendo sees the criticism, then they release footage of a new thing they're making to please the angry mob of Nintendo fans
I grew up in the ocarina of time era. But I can tell you. That you are definitely a gamers gamer. Cut from the same cloth I’d say. Especially since your curious to know where your smash bros characters came from. I can respect that so much! Thanks for the great video.
I hate Nintendo. I used to be such a fanboy when I was a kid -- especially my teen years. I love some of their games, but not the company itself. What the fanboys seem to miss the point of is that they should be fans of the actual developers (the people that actually make the games -- the programmers, artists, writers, etc.), but not the company itself. Not the businessmen that try their hardest to exploit their loyal customers. It's very sad.
This is perfectly executed, man. I cannot be convinced to spend the money on this... mockery of a Virtual Console, I just can't... 😤🤦🏾♀ They're really startin' to get big headed an' it's like, super disheartening bc even when I do sit out on a game or something, it feels like taking one grain of rice out of a bowl, u kno what I mean, like it changes NO-thing. 😔 But yeah. Hopefully the fandom will reach a breaking point soon. Cause this is just... too much, man.
Yeah, seeing buggy games have over 5 million+ copies sold feels like my "I'm not going to support this" decision just isn't making enough of an impact either. But ho boy if I emulate it..
This just reminds me why I bought earthbound on my new 3DS XL instead of buying Nintendo eShop online. Got the game for way cheaper on sale and I can play it whenever I want as long as I have my handheld which will probably be longer than Nintendo online existing tbh
Remember the Classic Mini systems Nintendo started and ended between 2016 - 2017? They put NES and SNES in such amazing (and surprisingly controversial via online sales) tiny packages. Of course, those came out when the Wii U retired while the Switch was just making its way into of the starting gates with so much potential. However, given how successful both the NES and SNES were, the Nintendo 64 was the next most obvious step in the right direction. If Nintendo wanted to make at least one more mini console, this would’ve been it. Unfortunately, just 2 systems, and they just call it quits. Somehow, even before Reggie and Bowser said it, people KNEW it was never going to happen. Instead, Nintendo opted to put N64 games into a $50 annual trial in a service already beyond repair. And from the looks and sounds of things, Nintendo isn’t going to let it go even when the next-gen system launches, which won’t be too far off from now. So how can this be justified? Given they’ve actually been fixing the emulation issues, but not enough to win back audiences. Tbh, Nintendo needs another Wii U, but not to the point of a marketing disaster. I mean to sell worse than the existing Switch, but much better than the Wii U. Let’s face it, the more sales Nintendo makes by pulling crap like this on people, the more anti-consumer it becomes.
I haven't been part of the subscription service for over a year because I realized it's not worth it and I'm not going to use it anyway. Talk about a nice save.
When you said vault, it reminded me of the old Disney VHS commercials where they would take a movie out of the vault and sell it as special thing and say after that it would be off the market and back in the vault.
To quote Valve... "It's not a piracy problem, it's a service problem". For me personally PCs and emulators have been the ONLY practical way to continue playing the games I own. Also, if I can't buy them anymore, It's the only way I can experience the games I missed out on. If these games are officially released I will buy them. But for the sake of conserving our gaming history. Emulation AND "piracy" is the only available option. Like Valve said... it's a "service problem" which you showcase so handsomely in this video.
Look, I am primarily a Nintendo player and I 100% agree with you. The NSO is not a good deal, I mean, sure it is not a very small amount of games there but, a huge part of the library of the games are pretty lackluster, and is not like there were not good games for NES and SNES to be added. I mean, Mega Man, Castlevania, Street Fighter, Final Fight, Adventure Island and the list goes on, none of them appear in this service, not even Mario RPG, what is that all about?
I honestly think we're at a point in gaming where these companies keeping their legacy titles hidden behind a vault is unacceptable. You can easily access books, television shows, movies, and musics from decades upon decades ago but a video game from 15 to 20 years ago? Good luck, better pay up 100+ to play it, pal. It's just not right and I hope we eventually see a shift and game preservation is taken much more seriously.
The problem is that Nintendo doesn't want any open access to their games. The resounding attitude towards the wii marketplace was net losses due to roms and untethered access to backdoors in older games. They decided rather to take it all away and go one by one, making sure you can not steal their games or find unwanted access due to older software.
'tis truly a shame (for them that is) that all of their catalogue is already on the internet, and what is on the internet, stays there, regardless of how much they take down, cuz there's always someone that has it archived.
Funny you mention this because NSO collections were already hacked to run just about any game you throw into them afaik. You just need a modded switch and some patience.
I really hate the rental idea too. Before you could just buy Super Mario World from the Wii Channel or eShop. Now you just pay 20 to 50 yearly. That's why I made sure to buy as much as I could possibly want before the eshop went away as I rather have, say, Sin and Punishment on my Wii U to play whenever than only available as long as I have the switch online service.
This is honestly the reason why I heavily SWITCHed to emulation. I bought so many Virtual Console games ever since the Wii launched and Nintendo is always the first company to pull the plug.
This is 100% true it sucks how Nintendo has turned out now. I really would love to own one of the classic games rather than paying the membership where it will have a lot of games that I won’t care about.
A major issue I have with this business model is that they will inevitably have to close this service one day, and for the next console, even if they keep up the subscription model they will need some way to port over ones game progress. Otherwise these are several games people might have spent HOURS playing that they will no longer be able to access. Services like gamepass give you games you can already purchase separately, so, if you wanted to, you could cancel your subscription and play the game separately. And the game is yours. Even if gamepass ended nothing will happen to that progress. But if switch online gets shut down? All of your games are lost, and all of your progress is lost, with no sign of recovering them
The treatment of the previous consoles is deplorable, and now that they're rolling in dough, they don't give a flip about what their customers think. I remember when they at least tried to make us happy, but now it's total minimum QoL.
Nintendo games already cost £30+ each as standard, even if they were released literally a decade ago. The fact that it now costs even more just to enjoy your favourite games is stupid.
Actually I feel like Nintendo isn't the Nintendo that I've known during my childhood anymore. I don't have any issue with Nintendo since they made me happy with a lot of good game for so many years during my life but, since Iwata isn't here anymore and since the Switch era, I feel like something have change with themself by start that they seem to take care less about their own community than before. After all and despite I'm not too much fan of Pokemon, it's always funny to see somes people among the Nintendo community who claim that Nintendo still care for their own community but they care so much about their own community that Nintendo doesn't even try to talk a bit with Gamefreak / Pokemon Compagnie about the situation about those last Pokemon games we got on the Switch as the people are pretty upset with the Pokemon games by always complaint about issue with graphics, lags and more but their problem stay the same years after years with the Pokemon serie so I don't hide it's always fun to read all those "love" from the Pokemon community toward the Pokemon franchise but specially toward Scarlet. Let's not forget that a lot of people still waiting for a new Star Fox, F-Zero and Kid Icarus game or a remaster of a old game if Nintendo is too lazy but that we have at least something because it's still empty about them on the Switch since 7 years who don't have any new game (and screw the people who say there will not have any new game for them because the sales are less hight than a ordinary Mario and Pokemon game but it's not a excuse for stop to made new game for them because we can easily talk about how Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush get somes bad sales even in his original country where the franchise is born in Japan by being the game who wasn't the one who get a lot of sale for one week unlike his previous games who wasn't a failure so did the Kirby serie was stopped after the failure of Rainbow Paintbrush? Not really because in that case it would mean no more Kirby for the next gen console with no game for them on the Switch). To be honnest, I see more Nintendo be more a Rockstar Games, Activision, EA Games-like by take care more about the money that they gonna win than to be and act like Nintendo by take care of their own community and enjoyed taking somes risk because the real Nintendo was known for being innovative so the question is: It's supposed to be "innovative" to release another old Mario game port who get a lot of succeed on the Nintendo 3DS such Luigi's Mansion 2 to the Switch and for a price more hight than the first time but nothing really new beside the HD? Because they look like more sissy than brave, specially when they was know for made one new fresh exclusive Mario Kart game per console since the SNES era but they just give us a popular 2014 Wii U game who end up as a port on the Switch so no new Mario Kart as a exclusivity for the Switch. So I can like Mario and somes others franchises but we eat too much the same franchises every years with more than 10 Mario and Pokemon games, 7 Zelda games, 6 Kirby and Fire Emblem games and not much for their others franchises with the fact that Nintendo isn't just Mario, Pokemon, Kirby, Zelda and Fire Emblem because they have more than that but, still, it pretty disapointing that they don't move too much their ass for be more productive for do something else than another Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Kirby and Fire Emblem game that we got mainly every years. That why I don't gonna buy their next gen console after the Switch because what the point to buy their next console if it's for be disapointing again? Getting better graphics but in exchange we got a lot of Mario, Pokemon, Kirby, Zelda and Fire Emblem game with somes old Mario game port and we put all the others franchises far away in the closet and with still a paying online? Sorry but it don't work with me this sauce. That why I gonna stay on PC with Steam because, at least on PC and with Steam, we got a lot of good game, variety and a free online so I can like the Mario serie and some others but I hardly see myself spend more than 100 dollars on their next console just for play Mario and Zelda per years and that all so if they release a new Star Fox, F-Zero, Kid Icarus or a Smash Bros game on it, maybe I gonna be interest by Nintendo again but, for now, the hype is at 0 about their next console despite all the rumour people say about it.
The other thing is that Nintendo switch online forces you to pay just to play online. Even though at its launch. The switch allowed you to play online without paying anything.
In my perspective the complaint of a lack of "themes" is really a complaint of a lack of personality in the system. My brother and I look back fondly on how much personality systems like the Wii and 3DS had (think channel chimes) and the Switch by comparison has zero of that charm or personality.
TL:DR at bottom You've only talked about one of the bad parts about Switch Online. What I hate the most is that they're SOMETIMES LOCKING. MOST OF THE GAME. BEHIND A PAYWALL (Nintendo Switch Online), for example, Splatoon 2 and 3. You buy the game for the online part of the game, but oh no! You need to pay to play the game you've already paid for! You don't have that money? Story mode (which, you could argue is enough game, but tell me someone who has bought Splatoon for the story mode and the story mode only. Also, local play doesn't count). What's worse is that the servers suck! Most of the games someone gets disconnected in the start and you have to do the whole process of loading the game and all of that! They really need to fix their servers or make you not pay for Switch Online to play basically the game you've already paid for. TL:DR: You have to pay for Switch online (on for example Splatoon 2 and 3) for the part of the game you want (which, on Splatoon's case, is most probably the online).
It's hypocritical greed that this multibillion megacorporation is eager to financially ruin people for just being passionate fans, yet won't lift a finger to perform a fraction of the fans' efforts.
I've said this a billion times on comment sections of several videos and ill say it again, why on GODS GREEN EARTH WOULD I PAY A SUBSCRIPTION FOR GAMES I WILL NEVER OWN. All that money thrown out when i could save it and buy a physical copy.
It honestly makes me want to cry how far Nintendo has fallen (and I _do not_ cry easily). They used to be cool, they used to care! They used to provide us with fair and generous offers and services, and now they give out trash and try to squeeze as much profit out of us as they can. :(
Really, it's more that you were younger and too naïve to notice that they've always run their business this way. They still care that the games are well made, but they have aaaaalways cared more about juicing as much money as they could.
@@grassroots15 Um... I'm sure that's partially true, but also no? Not at all really. They used to _not_ require a monthly membership to access basic internet gameplay. That's not something I just "didn't notice." They didn't release incomplete games and then finish them later with a "free update," they made games fully complete from the get go. That might just be due to the nature of older consoles but still... if a game wasn't done yet they didn't release it until it was. They didn't port old games to newer systems and slap a big price tag on it, older games were often a lot cheaper on the virtual console, and could be downloaded from the Shop Channel/E Shop at any time, regardless of whether or not you owned some dumb online membership. Wii could run Gamecube games and Wii U could run Wii games... that wasn't necessary but they had it as a feature because they could. They've gotten way stingier recently. They never had anything as bad a Joy Con drift, and their controllers worked fairly well as intended (I still have Wii remotes and gamecube controllers that still work to this very day, and over a decade old by now). Motion controls were jank sometimes, but they weren't so bad to the point of being unplayable like Joy Cons sometimes are.
@@lasercraft32 Back then, online gameplay wasn't important to Nintendo. It was seen as more of a Playstation/Xbox thing due to Call of Duty and Halo, etc. Nothing as bad as joycon drift? *Madcatz controllers would like to know your location.*
@@Sairiui With older controllers its a little different... any drifting and unresponsiveness is a result of the plug (whether gamecube or wii remote) getting damaged or dirty. It wasn't a direct design flaw like Joy Con drift, and it takes years before reaching that point... unlike Joy Con drift which takes maybe a week or two at best.
@@lasercraft32 I would also argue the N64 control stick was never made with quality, but no, Madcatz controllers were not problematic due to port issues. Buttons were unresponsive, shoulder buttons would lock up and stick, and the control stick would have such garbage deadzones that you could feel early drift through them from how poorly they were designed. I think it's all shitty, don't get me wrong, but this is not the first instance of controllers and other things gone bad. Even Gamecube memory cards would corrupt. The NES had issues reading carts so you had to blow into them. SNES likely had issues as well, but I haven't had a SNES since I was a kid and not long enough to really notice them, but I'm sure there's info somewhere online about various console issues that aren't just involving controllers.
To be fair, I do like that NSO helps put spotlight on more obscure games, but I don't think they should be given priority, rather they should be released alongside the popular.
Gotta agree that switch online classics are severely lacking. Even alot of Nintendo owned IPs haven't been included for seemingly no reason. I can understand 3rd party games not being included due to some licensing issues or those devs/publishers wanting to sell those games either as a standalone option or as part of a collection, but for those that haven't and won't get a re-release, it makes zero sense.
the thing that pissed me (and my family) off is that for the first year or so of nintendo switch, you could buy games and play them, then switch online was introduced and you had to start paying for this insane subscription to play the games you ALREADY owned and had played. basically forcing everyone to pay for it. also i was really excited to play metroid fusion on switch, literally one of if not my favourite game ever. but i REFUSE to pay for their expansion switch online. I want the gameboy whatever thingy JUST for that game i dont want all of it
Nintendo just created a new subsidiary called "Nintendo Systems" which they own 80% of, the other 20% belonging to DeNA (the company they produce mobile games with) it'll be for quote "developing and maintaining services". Fingers crossed the current eshop & NSO just keep going forever on all future consoles (and maybe even other devices, seriously, Piracy would take a big hit if Nintendo sold their own ROMs on a PC storefront!)
I think nintendo ditched their previous eshop library when they saw the demand from fans for ports and probably thought "yeah this should be an easy way to make bank with a subscription service". And then proceeded to create a service with the slowest god damn updates known to man. might partially be because they want ppl to keep paying for as long as possible, so they could be intentionally not porting the games everyone want. also they're probably saving them for "Definitive Edition" re-releases which make more money.
I really want there to be a day when Nintendo makes another awful decision and we don’t buy it Like let’s just get together and convince everyone or at least get the word out as quick as we can to not have anyone get the mistake they made and let them know we are not stupid enough to get and love every piece of shit they make .
Moving forward I'm only buying nintendo consoles second-hand (not directly from nintendo) and only when I can jailbreak the console, so I can emulate older games with free emulators and keep my games forever. I'm in the process or selling my switch for an older one I can pirate and I couldn't be more excited. Fuck nintendo, I'm not giving them another dime.
@@FatTundra64 So they are cool now ? Their last console was literally Wii u and it sold horribly. But Wii was best selling console on this planet of whole untill switch came and it wasn't this bad.
@bowser_56_56 nah also looking at this comment I should’ve said that “ever since the presidents of the company changed Nintendo has been very corporate and bad” They weren’t really corporate (when I mean corporate I kinda mean like lifeless,it’s hard to explain) with the Wii now to think of it nor were they with the Wii U Actually I don’t really know what I’m saying to be honest my point is what I wrote before and my comment in general doesn’t make a lot of sense any more lol
Also note I love Nintendo I care for them a lot they made my childhood So I just hate to see them make dumb things like this,I want them to still succeed and make money to continue the company but just not like this .
I have a good idea for nintendo How about they remove the online service entirely and make online without a paywall but instead A new service can be created The retro service you pay 10-20 bucks monthly to play different old game systems Ranging from the NES to the Nintendo 64. And they can bust it with a pro version of the same service but at a higher price and include more games! And more emulators like DS, GameCube All that for whatever they'll make us pay 50 bucks But for a massive pack they can make us pay for Wii, Wii U and 3DS for a higher price So here is what I think what nintendo should do. This can be a great move as it may boost their sales and make them profit more! Than the shit they are doing and they'll also make us happy without their current service.
I just got a switch and honestly I had the same impression over the games in switch online. I can download an emulator and the systems whole library on my laptop for free and this is the amount of content they give people for 50$ a year. It’s mind boggling. All I wanna do is play all the Pokémon games on one console
The ending is so real. To make up for what is becoming public information about nintendos greed, they blind you with “happiness” with a new clip of a new game you’ve been waiting for. Dropping all your suspicion and your entire argument, over a temporary distraction. I’m surprised I see no one talking about this.
The biggest consequences of companies becoming too big is they start to think they can do whatever they want and it won’t harm them financially as well as harm their reputation…when that’s further from the case…even if it takes a while for everyone to catch on.
the only reason I modded my v1 switch was because they took away my only way of buying retro games with the 3ds eshop closing. I refuse to rent retro titles.
The thing that mainly pisses me off about online isn't emulation but the fact that now Nintendo has jumped on the "you have to pay even more money for games you already own" train. I bought Splatoon 2 when I first got my Switch when it first came out, I liked it but I never usually play games for more than a week or two before I get bored and don't play it for a while- I basically gave up on the Switch after I got a notification saying that, to play the game I paid like 50 bucks for that I was previously able to ACTUALLY PLAY, I would have to pay for a stupid subscription. Splatoon is the only online game I really care about on the Switch so I'm not paying that just to play Splatoon for a couple days then get bored. I paid full price for a game that was basically taken away from me. I can't WAIT until the Switch can be emulated and something like Pretendo shows up for it so I can actually play my game.
Yeah, the NSO is bad enough, but ya know what would really be a fix for me? Do the online support for the Switch like the 3DS and Wii U: Don't put another price on it. That was one thing that turned me off immediately.
I actually got a Switch a few weeks ago ONLY TO PLAY THE CLASSIC TITLES FROM NINTENDO and a few of the exclusives for the Switch, and I am disappointed on not just that I should be supposed to pay $50/year to play (a very few) classics, but also on how the console is designed. It does not give any option to do absolutely anything about the screen (I can't play on either handheld or on tv for more than 10 minutes before getting motion sickness, eye strain or sharp headaches), I have found absolutely no way to fix it. At this point getting an actual n64/gc/wii seems like a better investment than trying to play those same games on the Switch.
What kills me is that Nintendo now has a working N64 implementation on the Switch, yet we're still missing games that were on the Virtual Console, and some games still somehow run better on the Wii U.
It's also one of the main reasons why they discontinued the NES&SNES mini as soon as possible. Can't have retro games easily available. Subscribe to play them.
I simultaneously love and hate Switch Online. On one hand, it’s really cool to play Switch with others, and I use it frequently. On the other hand, it was free on Wii U, and the connection was better on there too. Mixed feelings, for sure.
The reason why people complain about themes is not because of a dark mode but because there was so much customization and personality you could add on the 3DS. Nobody wants themes because they need a dark mode or something.. I'm a 3DS you had music, animations, custom icons and badges. Folders Russell a lot better because you could create them easy and they're right there on your screen as opposed to having to navigate all the way to the right just to see some folders you made on the switch
It's crazy how quickly things closed, for example there's a Switch in the bedroom on Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon on 3DS and there are Breath of the Wild 3DS themes and everything. I believe Just Dance 2019 was on Wii U also. These eshops should have stayed open another 5-10 years. It makes no sense from a financial perspective either. Nintendo still has to have Wii U/3DS servers so people can download all the purchased games and DLC. The big difference is Nintendo can't make money selling games on those older eshops. I've responded by modding my Wii U and 3DS, they have very impressive libraries especially with rom injections and virtual console emulation. The biggest reason I see for Nintendo closing is they don't want competition with their newer services/consoles
Very good critique of the service. I'd also like to add them going rom sites. Granted they've done it before, but they REALLY started cracking down on them when the service launched.
Not just Nintendo ROMs, but for some reason, Nintendo is also going after Playstation ISOs/ROMs and Xbox ISOs/ROMs, also. I get that they're trying to play the Good Samaritan for their competition, but they are clearly stepping out of their jurisdiction, as it should be up to Sony and Microsoft to deal with their corresponding ROMs.
@@X2011racerjust goes to to show Man like Big Bill and the cool Yakuza Japanese are probably cool with it ,all like yea those 10-20 year old games have at it we juiced that lemon...meanwhile greedy nintendo nerds give us more!! Well fight it in court 🤓😂
The virtual console used to have different custom tailored emulators for each individual game to get it to run smoothly. The NSO subscription uses one singular emulator for varying results. That alone should tell you everything you need to know.
The games aren’t just streamed by the way, you’re downloading them to your switch console, it’s just locked until you knock online once a week for permission if you have a subscription … They should offer a package deal to buy it once the console life comes to an end, otherwise the games just go away…
I think the subscription model is superior for certain people, because I had buyer's anxiety so bad that I never purchased any of the old games on my Wii. This means that I couldn't decide what I wanted to spend my money on, so I just ended up not buying anything at all. It would've been $100 in order to get every game I wanted on Wii, and it just was a tough pill to swallow. And I didn't know if I'd even like the game. I think the base service is a no-brainer really good deal now. You may not like it, but you can't deny that having access to nintendo's first 3 consoles and their heavy hitter titles is really good for both the consumer and the company. The issue is that it is tied into having online access for multiplayer games. The games you're getting out of it sweeten the deal, sure, but it doesn't take away the fact that they're keeping key features behind a pay wall that used to be free. Annnnd it's still not getting any better. The expansion pass launching at over twice as expensive without a monthly option is ludicrous tho. I feel like it's finally "worth it" now as it's been beefed up and they actually fixed most emulation problems. But I still wouldn't try to convince others to get it. Anyway, all of this is to say, the subscription really isn't a bad idea. In fact, it's a great idea. But there's literally no reason it couldn't have been it's own thing not forcing you to pay for online access, as well as be an addition to the Virtual Console rather than a replacement. Nintendo's just makes really dumb decisions very frequently.
The reason they locked online behind this is because they are essentially forcing people to pay for it because even Nintendo themselves know that their service is dogshit.
It's worse because it is more expensive. Remember you do not own any of the games, you are paying every year. So imagine if one year you stop paying for NSO. ALL YOUR GAMES ARE GONE. "but i payed $50 every year, for 10 years....?" Doesnt matter. the games are gone. WHEN BEFORE YOU OWNED THEM FOREVER

Personally, I think the subscription model is what is keeping the rate of new releases so slow. The slower they release games, the longer you will have to stay subscribed. If they just let you buy each game, it would make more sense to release them all as soon as possible.
ruclips.net/video/i13hrynnGNY/видео.html
That's a good guess, but nothing is stopping them from selling the games at the same pace WITHOUT a subscription model. The only difference with the subscription model is that you don't OWN the games. Once the subscription service shuts down all your games are gone. For good. At least with their previous model you could actually go back and re-download them as many times as you wanted as you were renting them indefinitely
So that explains why the Switch has nothing
@@itsmesteve1081 It's not a guess, its a solid explanation of Nintendo's strategy. If they were to resell these games, people can buy them but you don't bind them as customers. They just buy them and buy the newer triple A titles on their PS5, and it's the new games that consume ressources that the company needs to get paid off.
Since your saves are bound to a subscription, you will always have to buy Nintendo and subscribe to continue where you left off.

Physical media will, because D-bag collectors charge hundreds of dollars for games that should never cost that much

Remember, for the sake of history and preservation, it's morally correct to pirate Nintendo games.
Unfortunately this is why most fans resort to piracy and modding their games. And what's worst is how embarrassing fans give consumers much more options than the actual company themselves 💀
Fans do what Nintendon't.
“So that too, may one day collapse into the sea.”
The reality is the fans have one thing Nintendo has long since lost: Passion.
When you have passion for a game or project it shows, when you're trying to just make bank with minimal effort, it shows even more.
Nintendo's majority Switch lineup has been nothing but cashgrabs and not much of actual value, the list of games I can name off the back of my hand that aren't cash grabs and are actually good games on the Switch that are exclusive to the Switch (Meaning BoTW is excluded from this list), and those names are:
1) Age of Calamity
2) Link's Awakening
3) Pokemon Legends Arceus
4) Super Mario Odyssey
These are the only games on Switch that are made directly by Nintendo that DON'T feel like cash grabs for the Switch. Ultimate 100% felt like a cashgrab with all that paid DLC and the world of light was mid as fuck. I mean no disrespect to Sakurai, but Subspace will never be topped.

Outside of the weekly check to see if you still have NSO, I don't need to be online to play those games, I just need to turn online when there's the verification to be sure I still have the correct subscription, and right after I go offline and know I'm good for the week
(While I hate having the weekly verification especially for the expansion pack, I can see the logic behind it, because you can cancel your subscription at anytime)
I hate subscriptions, end of story. SOMEtimes it’s cheaper and valuable but MOST times it ends up costing an absolute fortune for very little.
You'll own nothing and be happy
@@rijpmajohan Or I'll pirate everything so I can both own it AND be happy. Nintendo can kiss my ass.
That’s been Nintendo’s strategy all along. They’re all bunch of wankers who just want to rip customers off whilst making as much money as possible. They’re too lazy to improve old games for switch online, and not innovative enough to release a masterpiece game which takes them at least 6-10 years to do.
I wouldn't be so mad at the NSO service if they had at least included an option to purchase the games outright.
Even then it would only be temporary. After they shut down the shop for the Switch, you'll just need to buy those games again on Switch 2, or whatever they'll call a successor.
@@The8bitbeard Another comment of stupidity and nonsensical hate, I'm already mad at the amount of stupidity this comment section has so Imma keep it short:
The 3ds shut down, you can still redownload any game you bought there, you don't have to fucking rebuy games if you don't want/have to, also even if your comment was "true" that would apply to literally any online shop, just think about how stupid that sounds
@Quotation considering nintendo hasn't made a wii expansion for online he's probably just talking about just the 8bit and 16bit stuff.
They shut down eshop, because we were able to own the games. Now we don’t own anything, we only rent Virtual Console titles

@@LargeInCharge77 Yeah, I don't think it's working on me. Or anyone who knows a lick about their controversies, really.

VBASquad
Because people are stupid and fucking refuse to think with their wallets >:(
The fact that they announced another video showcasing that $70 Zelda game was coming a week after they closed down all the other eShops really shows how they think of their players too as they would see that as something that would keep players from forgetting about them getting rid of so many digital only games on their previous consoles.

@@keijijohnson9754 I believe the awkward ending to the video was the point in itself.
You can emulate them for free too
Even then, the Arcade and NeoGeo games put on the eshop aren't even Nintendo's doing as opposed to that of HAMSTER'S work into Arcade Archives
also let's stop pretending paying for online is necessary for these companies.

@Falcon2 how is piracy stealing? lmao

Okay I’m actually confused about that, because I have been able to play NSO games many times when not connected to WiFi
Exactly. And then what happens when they inevitably shut down NSO. All those games and dlc are no longer available to you. It sucks.
And not only that... the money spent each month... did not matter. All of it went into their pockets.

Yeah, seeing buggy games have over 5 million+ copies sold feels like my "I'm not going to support this" decision just isn't making enough of an impact either.
But ho boy if I emulate it..
This is why emulating retro Nintendo games is justifiable.
Companies destroying their back catalogues is the same as book burning. And it should be treated the same way.
Exactly dude!
Emulators are the only ones trying to preserve Nintendo's old games but the scummy corporation is still fighting against them with lawsuits
Its mainly Nintendo but I've noticed playstation are doing it too. If you can, emulate.
The problem is that Nintendo doesn't want any open access to their games. The resounding attitude towards the wii marketplace was net losses due to roms and untethered access to backdoors in older games.
They decided rather to take it all away and go one by one, making sure you can not steal their games or find unwanted access due to older software.
And yet rom sites will exist for far longer than Nintendo will.
If any video game requires Internet to play, including single player, I don’t purchase that junk

The biggest problem for me has always been that you can't buy any of these seperately and you'll never own them.
TL:DR at bottom
You've only talked about one of the bad parts about Switch Online.
@@NovaMaster375
Yeah and those suck too
Based and true. Thank goodness for emulation!
I've heard about that as well and I'm really interested of what it's going to look like
I'n just sick of consoles at this point. Nintendo has trillions ways of selling/reproducing their games legally on PC.
Pretty ironic how, some time ago today, I was considering buying the expansion pack. Now I'm not.
I've had Switch Online since Oct 2021, got the expansion on day 1. I love it
Same here to be honest
I really want there to be a day when Nintendo makes another awful decision and we don’t buy it
Like let’s just get together and convince everyone or at least get the word out as quick as we can to not have anyone get the mistake they made and let them know we are not stupid enough to get and love every piece of shit they make .
You ever notice when Nintendo fails they are cool
But when they succeed they are corporate and bad
Moving forward I'm only buying nintendo consoles second-hand (not directly from nintendo) and only when I can jailbreak the console, so I can emulate older games with free emulators and keep my games forever.
I'm in the process or selling my switch for an older one I can pirate and I couldn't be more excited. Fuck nintendo, I'm not giving them another dime.
@@FatTundra64 So they are cool now ?
Their last console was literally Wii u and it sold horribly.
But Wii was best selling console on this planet of whole untill switch came and it wasn't this bad.
@bowser_56_56 nah also looking at this comment I should’ve said that “ever since the presidents of the company changed Nintendo has been very corporate and bad”
They weren’t really corporate (when I mean corporate I kinda mean like lifeless,it’s hard to explain) with the Wii now to think of it nor were they with the Wii U
Actually I don’t really know what I’m saying to be honest my point is what I wrote before and my comment in general doesn’t make a lot of sense any more lol
Also note I love Nintendo
I care for them a lot they made my childhood
So I just hate to see them make dumb things like this,I want them to still succeed and make money to continue the company but just not like this .
Games as a service is a fraud
1:49
Nintendo's reaction every time someone wants to host a Smash Tournament.
I have a good idea for nintendo
How about they remove the online service entirely and make online without a paywall but instead
A new service can be created
The retro service you pay 10-20 bucks monthly to play different old game systems
Ranging from the NES to the Nintendo 64.
And they can bust it with a pro version of the same service but at a higher price and include more games! And more emulators like
DS, GameCube
All that for whatever they'll make us pay 50 bucks
But for a massive pack they can make us pay for Wii, Wii U and 3DS for a higher price
So here is what I think what nintendo should do.
Nintendo puts on the shades and hits the neuralyzer every time they do something foul.
The ending is so real. To make up for what is becoming public information about nintendos greed, they blind you with “happiness” with a new clip of a new game you’ve been waiting for. Dropping all your suspicion and your entire argument, over a temporary distraction. I’m surprised I see no one talking about this.
Love the downer ending
And they accomplished nothing I still download snes gb and gba games and play them on my vita instead😂.
@@HydeRvt Ikr? It'sa waste of time and money. For every site they shut down. 3 more pop up in it's place.
8:00 save states and rewind in a streaming service? Color me impressed. For me, that's one major attraction of _Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium._
If it weren’t an extortion and had purchase options like Xbox GamePass does than a lot less people would hate NSO
