Deep drop…… sheep drop…. Shallow “Sheep” is between shallow and deep! Also I love watching Aaron fish and I watching you cook!!! Hahaha you guys rock! I love watching the duo together!! Thanks for this vid! So glad I hit the bell.
Always great seeing you and Aaron in a video together. Nice catches. Them porgies are tasty fish too. I call the middle water column " Dallow.", lol. Another awesome dish Will!
Edit suggestion: Mahi premium cuts! As you were building your marinade a couple things came to mind. Using a small fine strainer to press the miso into the mirin-sake mix really streamlines that process. Normally I avoid having extra things to wash but it’s worth it for this. The other thing was using a sake kasu marinade like on gindara for mahi. I’m putting that on my to do list.
You guys are a blast to watch and full of great information. Always learning new things while also getting inspired and entertained all at the same time. Thank you!
Looks like you’re becoming quite the baker! I don’t have patience and baking is way too structured for my liking but I luckily married a great baker. That said, I’m definitely going to try to make those bao buns. They looked so darn good! Thanks for sharing!
Medium drop is the place you set your cool coffee cup on the shelf. Good luck with the dough. I like the creative recipes. Stirring dry yeast in luke warm water to get it started and a little bit of flour on the counter. Not too much.
That was a unique way of preparing Mahi Mahi! We have been fortunate enough to have them come into Socal waters recently. That Tilefish is of the same family of fish that are found on the Pacific Coast we call Ocean whitefish. You are developing some skills with the dough. 😅
Great video, looks so good. My husband wants you to know that he thinks that was your best ever - said you took it to a whole new level. ( believe me he doesn't ever or very rarely says that 😊)
Great video Will! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the collar used on a mahi before. What a great size for a snack. You sure seemed to have nailed the bun. That sandwich looked absolutely delicious. Thanks for sharing!!!
On the east coast when catching Mahi, once one is hooked you bring it close to the boat. You then throw another line next to it and alternate pulling them out. They congregate to one once it is hooked knowing food is rite there.
I would have to say mid-way drops or the inshore reef drops or as the locals in the keys might say “the humps” 😂 which provide every fish known available within our region! #CookingWithClams awesome video once again!!
@@CookingWithClams that is deep for sure. I was thinking that was mid-range though considering the 1000-1500 foot drops everyone goes for swords in that area. Living up here in Sebastian our deep drops seem to be 250/300ft being our mid range is the 100/150ft ledge/reef. I think this is what makes Florida absolutely fascinating.
Absolute amazing episode. I learned so much watching your cooking. I’m not much of a baker because that all has to do with chemistry and you gotta follow the recipe exact. I like to cook where I can experiment.
there is no name, but the best answer is.... its depends on your definition of shallow and deep.. depending where your fishing... (nailed it) free hat LOL great Video as always
I watch both your videos. I relate to you on your fishing skills and Aaron's cooking skills. I consider myself in-betweens just like the water between shallow and deep :)
Another awesome vid man i love the way you cook. I caught a nice red off the beach last week and cooked the collar, cooked it all in the oven. With just butter and garlic. I think it was better than the filets. I am going to try your fish sausage, that looked amazing.
Nice Will I like how you don't do a whole video on the same things I watched on Aarons video, lol I've seen others do that. Great video and I have an idea for you on what I believe would be a great video. Do what you will, I don't want to seem controling but I saw Gordon Ramseys Uncharted in the Keys and he went to this exotic fruit farm in the lower keys which is near you and just seemed like maybe you could implement that in sometime. It looked really cool, I think imma add that to the list of places to go to. No worries I'm not going to be mentioning all kinds of ideas for your show, I just saw that and wondered if you even knew about it. Its called Garden of Eden fruit tree farm.
Column top mahi stay Column middle hot lips blue line tile fish play Column bottom porgies smash bait With steamed buns and a pickle they all hit the plate.
Aloha. You guys had two solid days of fishing. Bao buns looked awesome. I’m also intimidated by baking, though I did make a Key lime loaf last year. Manapua?
In a pool you have the shallow end and the deep end connected by the slope. In the kitchen you have the shallow bowl and the deep bowl the middle is just the bowl. Transcendentally we could call it “The Tao”. Its neither shallow nor deep just a state of being “ocean” Whimsically we can call it “Goldilocks” it’s not too shallow and not too deep…it’s just right.
I did look this up, but...... Middle: This term is used to indicate the central point between two extremes. For example, in terms of height, the middle point between the highest and lowest point would be considered the median or the middle.
Ive always hear Sunlight, twilight, midnight & abyssal. And one other mega deep name that escapes me. So a combo of Twilight and Midnight? I don’t know? TwiMid column (zone)? But then again, WTF would I know???
I would have to refer the medium drop as the "Average drop". Not all of us have the equipment to deep drop, just bay boats or flats, so we have to stay in our lane. But an average drop is fine for most, LMAO. Couldn't pass that up.
Ok! Leave a comment on what you’d call the medium drop. Best answer will get a hat! I will announce the winner next week
Middle column
Pelagic column or pelagic bottom
The convergence zone
Sheep drop!
Mid drop
The just right collum not to deep not to shallow just right
Deep drop…… sheep drop…. Shallow
“Sheep” is between shallow and deep!
Also I love watching Aaron fish and I watching you cook!!! Hahaha you guys rock! I love watching the duo together!! Thanks for this vid! So glad I hit the bell.
Heck yeah! Thank you!!
Always great seeing you and Aaron in a video together. Nice catches. Them porgies are tasty fish too. I call the middle water column " Dallow.", lol. Another awesome dish Will!
Dallow!
well there’s Top fishing
& there’s bottom fishing. In between
is the “search bar” or Scientific term of the “thermocline”
We love our Toadfish drink holders! We even use one to hold a hand soap pump bottle next to our sink!
That’s genius!
Edit suggestion: Mahi premium cuts!
As you were building your marinade a couple things came to mind. Using a small fine strainer to press the miso into the mirin-sake mix really streamlines that process. Normally I avoid having extra things to wash but it’s worth it for this.

Ah that’s a great suggestion
Madeline opened up a challenge there we would all like to see. Who can tell what fish is what, would love to see that video!
Ohhhh that IS a good challenge
Thanks Clams! 👍🎣
Thank you for landing that Mahi!!
“Midriff”? You know that’s gotta win me a hat!! 😂
That's what she said, then said , a little to the left.😂❤❤❤
For middle is perfect when placed bait accordingly.❤😂😂😂😂
I wear hats.. 😂❤❤❤❤ advertise you all Anytime. You and AQUAMAN are great examples of true freinds
Clams 💪never get tired of watching you cook ... Key west water dad 🫡🤣😂
Thank you! Haha I think he enjoyed that name
Another knock out recipe, thanks clams, gonna try and do this one 👍
Id call it an inbetweeny drop 😊
The read between the lines stomping ground!
Love your recipes and what you can make a meal out of. Keep it up Claim
Baking tip…stop jabbing the risen dough!!! 😂😂😂
Can’t wait to try this! YUM!!!
But it just looks like it wants to be poked!
Great episode! I think it should be named "The Intermedial Drop" or "The Medial Drop."
Thank you!!
The passion comes out in the videos
Thank you!
Nice catch with Aaron and his dad. Also, the cook looked delicious.
Thank you Brad!
I think Lauren's got it, Sheep! Thanks for another good one, always look forward to your new stuff!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Mid waters, I’d say. middle column is in any depth of water the middle between surface and bottom
No measure medium drop!!!
Great episode!!!
Thank you!
The medium drop is when the bottle hits the floor and does not break.
You guys are a blast to watch and full of great information. Always learning new things while also getting inspired and entertained all at the same time. Thank you!
Appreciate that!
I should have waited to comment till after the end of the video. Those buns with the fillings… oh my!! Well done sir!!
Thank you!
Looks like you’re becoming quite the baker! I don’t have patience and baking is way too structured for my liking but I luckily married a great baker. That said, I’m definitely going to try to make those bao buns. They looked so darn good! Thanks for sharing!
It doesn’t leave any room for improvisation. Definitely a different way of cooking
Such an interesting watch as usual Will. Thanks for taking us with you and right into your kitchen. Love it!
Thank you for coming along!
Thanks for showing us the collar, didn't know you could eat that. I did on a grouper but not Mahi.
Any fish!
Beautiful fish and another great video!
Thank you very much!
Once again you've outdone yourself. That just looks so delicious!
Thank you!
There's deep dropping and then there's deeeeep dropping 👍👍😎, thanks for taking us along
Noted haha
Medium drop is the place you set your cool coffee cup on the shelf. Good luck with the dough. I like the creative recipes. Stirring dry yeast in luke warm water to get it started and a little bit of flour on the counter. Not too much.
Should have put the yeast in the milk it as 110°
That would have been a good method. Was that 2% or skim?
That was a unique way of preparing Mahi Mahi! We have been fortunate enough to have them come into Socal waters recently. That Tilefish is of the same family of fish that are found on the Pacific Coast we call Ocean whitefish. You are developing some skills with the dough. 😅
I’ll look up ocean whitefish. New ground for me but so far I’m enjoying it
The banana tattoo is badass
Haha the permanent bad luck on a boat
I love your passion for food man. It really shows in your vids. Thanks for another great idea!
Thank you Jason!
Great video, looks so good. My husband wants you to know that he thinks that was your best ever - said you took it to a whole new level. ( believe me he doesn't ever or very rarely says that 😊)
Well allright!!
Making bread is my fav...
Mid drop is called mid drop...
TNX 4 VID LOL
I make foccacia but that’s it
Great video Will! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the collar used on a mahi before. What a great size for a snack. You sure seemed to have nailed the bun. That sandwich looked absolutely delicious.
Thanks for sharing!!!
It was restaurant quality! I was excited for them working out
Amazing with the creativity on your channel. Try steaming on top of napa cabbage instead of parchment to prevent sticking.
Great advice
It’s the Center Column
Nice to hear a sharp knife.
Nothing like it
Amazing looking dish as always Will. Those buns looked absolutely delicious, along with that collar. Cheers brother
I was sad there weren’t more to be honest
Outstanding! You should think about a coffee table cook book with a little bio and pics. Scraps with clams? Anyway “lazy drop”? Thx.
One day! Lazy drop I like
Baking with Clams ! Looks delicious !
I’ll try to keep it going!
Love learning new techniques from your video's. You are a pro chef
Glad you like them!
On the east coast when catching Mahi, once one is hooked you bring it close to the boat. You then throw another line next to it and alternate pulling them out. They congregate to one once it is hooked knowing food is rite there.
Same system here. This cow was rolling solo
@@CookingWithClams sweet
Aloha. Same in Hawaii. Makes sense, same fish, same tendencies.
I would have to say mid-way drops or the inshore reef drops or as the locals in the keys might say “the humps” 😂 which provide every fish known available within our region! #CookingWithClams awesome video once again!!
Thank you! I think the jumps are 550 down. That’s deep!
@@CookingWithClams that is deep for sure. I was thinking that was mid-range though considering the 1000-1500 foot drops everyone goes for swords in that area. Bro, you soo fancy making bao bao buns, lol. Will brings another banger for us. It all looks great! Hi5!
This was ambitious
You made it look easy though. Thanks for sharing.
going to have to change the name to Baking with Clams lol looked yummy
Oh lord no, it’s so stressful!
Love your channel. I've tried some of your recipes. I would say the middle is Middle Grounds.
Thank you!!
Absolute amazing episode. I learned so much watching your cooking. I’m not much of a baker because that all has to do with chemistry and you gotta follow the recipe exact. I like to cook where I can experiment.
Same! I hate following rules
🐠The Demi Moore drop 😂🐟
I love porgys, we catch them in Long Island sound.
Same here! I love em and grew up catching them there
4:20 "mid-depth" or "intermediate."
there is no name, but the best answer is.... its depends on your definition of shallow and deep.. depending where your fishing... (nailed it) free hat LOL great Video as always
Haha cmon throw a name out there
@@CookingWithClams id have to say its 'mid depth' 😁
That’d be the meep. The medium deep. Meep droppin.
I’d call it taking the bait to the second base
There it is!
The schmiddle (Like saying Mike Schmidt from the Phillies back in the day).
I like this one
I watch both your videos. I relate to you on your fishing skills and Aaron's cooking skills. I consider myself in-betweens just like the water between shallow and deep :)

Great video.
I would call it mid range.
Mid range! Noted and thank you

Yes!! The collar is a whole different experience. I love it
And I would go with Midway as the mid water column, kinda somewhat patriotic.
Looks fantastic 🤟
Thank you!
Its defiantly a Shmedium Drop!
A few votes for this one!
The Clairvoyant drop
Another great video
Thank you Tim
Medium well drop
Love your vids!!!
Thank you!
Medium drop halfway down

I know of Grimal grove but I’ll check that one out. That’s a great idea
Column top mahi stay
Column middle hot lips blue line tile fish play
Column bottom porgies smash bait
With steamed buns and a pickle they all hit the plate.
This went hard
I think mid-depth is best.
Mahi best table quality fish in the ocean, but never ever frozen.
I like a lot of other fish more but it’s definitely top ten
Aloha. You guys had two solid days of fishing. Bao buns looked awesome. I’m also intimidated by baking, though I did make a Key lime loaf last year. Manapua?
Ah yeah Manapua would be the same batter I think
@@CookingWithClams Aloha, could be wrong, but I believe so as well. The only reason I mentioned it was your bbq grouper head recipe.
Call it a shmedium drop, that in-between size
I’m into it
THE IN-BEETWEEN
I like this one!
Awesome video
Not so deep dropping just deep enough
In a pool you have the shallow end and the deep end connected by the slope.

These are great answers
I think k these might be the best answers
You win!
The meh drop or the shrug drop. Is it shallow? Is it deep? Meh, I don’t know 🤷🏼♂️
I think this is the scientific name
I did look this up, but...... Middle: This term is used to indicate the central point between two extremes. For example, in terms of height, the middle point between the highest and lowest point would be considered the median or the middle.
This is by far the most concise answer
The "Betwixt" sayeth me!

Wax paper in heat, try parchment paper
I will thanks!
Shouldn't you put flour down ?
Not always necessary
LAGOM drop! Or ju fishing pelagic.
In between water drop
In the Midst
For me it’s deep dropping or trolling or fishing. Lol
Shmedium drop
It’s called shaleep dropping!!
Medium depth and state the full depth
Very medium
I can definitely tell when the skin has been pulled versus skinned. I’ll trim the tissue off if someone has torn the skin off
I don’t think I’ve ever really noticed
Aloha. I can’t tell, but I also leave the membrane on my ribs.
The meat drop!
Looks killer. You are missing your taste testers
Oh they had some

Waist drop! Since it's in the middle of the body of water and the waist is in the middle the fisherman!
Logical
Yummy for my tummy give me some stop being so cheap 😊
Wish I could
Let's just say it is what it is.....fishing
Not catching
